This example shows the flow when an image is requested from the Media Access Proxy (MAP).
When the Multi-Channel Server (MCS) encounters an image that should be converted by MAP, it includes a device-specific image tag specifying the URL of the MAP component. The URL also specifies where to find the image (or any media such as audio or video) to be transcoded and the transcoding rule to apply when converting the image to a format that is supported by the mobile device.
MAP functions in two operational modes: MAP and ICS.
For additional information about MAP, refer to the Media Access Proxy section in the Multi-Channel Server information center plug-in.
