Getting the electronic images

As an alternative to using physical media, you can download IBM® Mobile Portal Accelerator version 8.0 software images onto a workstation or networked drive, and use those images to install the software.

Using the eAssembly phrase or code to search for software images

The term eAssembly refers to a compilation of software images. You can use an assembly part number associated with eAssembly to locate all the images that are packaged for Mobile Portal Accelerator. You have access to Mobile Portal Accelerator version 8.0 eAssembly if you purchased the Mobile Portal Accelerator version 8.0 offering.

If you are using Passport Advantage® to download images from the web, or if you have access to the appropriate IBM internal software or IBM Business Partner download sites, use one of the following phrases or codes to search for software images.

Create directories and download files

Create the appropriate directory structure on your workstation or server, and then download and extract the contents of each image into that directory. You must download, extract, and run the images on the same platform that the image supports. For example, if the title of an image lists only Windows, you can download, extract, and run that image on a Windows system only. Here is an example directory structure:

mpa_images
     |
     + -- mpa_1of2
     |
     + -- mpa_2of2
     |
     + -- mpa_update

Download each image into its own directory and extract the image.

Use the Mobile Portal Accelerator version 8.0 Image 2 of 2.

Extract the file and see the installationguide.html file located in the extracted contents. This file lists the hardware and software prerequisites and contains instruction for installing the Mobile Portal Toolkit.
