Syndicated Feed gives users the ability to read web feeds,
such as RSS, on their mobile devices.
Using Syndicated Feed
The Syndicated Feed
portlet that is provided with the
Mobile Portal Accelerator product
provides functionality that is similar to the
WebSphere® Portal Syndicated
Feed portlet. Additionally, the
Mobile Portal Accelerator Syndicated
Feed portlet provides the following:
- XDIME 2 functionality
- Navigation that is appropriately modified for mobile devices
The portlet supports the following feed formats: RSS and
Atom.
Syndicated Feed operates in three different modes:
- View mode
- Displays the list of web feeds that are available to the end user
of the device.
- Configure mode
- Used by an administrator to add or delete feeds from a list of
available feeds. This list becomes the default list that is shared
by all users.
Note: This mode operates only in PC-based web browsers.
- Edit mode
- Used by an end user to personalize the default list of available
feeds for his or her own device. Selections made in Edit mode for
a device override the selections made by the administrator in Configure
mode.
