Mobile Login portlet

The Mobile Login portlet provides access to the portal. All mobile device users can use this portlet to log in to the portal.

Using Mobile Login

There are two login methods: a Login portlet and a Login screen. The Mobile Login portlet is placed on its own dedicated mobile login page with its own uniquename, mwp.LoginPage.

Note: Previously, the Login portlet was the default Login page for WebSphere® Portal.

The Login portlet can be customized as needed. The Login portlet can also be placed on any portal page. Since a Login portlet exists for each virtual portal, it is possible to have different customized portlets for each virtual portal.

To customize the Login portlet, edit the wp_login_form.mlyt file in the policy for a virtual portal's policy set. For more information about customizing the Mobile Login portlet for a virtual portal, see the topic Selecting policy sets for virtual portals.

For more information about switching between the Login portlet and the Login screen, see the topic Configuring a Login portlet or a Login screen. For more information about hiding login passwords, see the topic Hiding password characters.

Tip: It is possible to configure WebSphere Portal to use login screens for all markups. However, you then lose the ability to customize the login look and feel if you use login screen JSP and also create virtual portals.
