They must be recovered in V7 format. -When restoring a dropped database from an online backup, the database is left in roll-forward-pending state. This is because the log files for the dropped database are unavailable, and the online backup does not contain information about their location. 4.2 Workarounds When using Recovery Expert to recover to a point in time, you may notice that when you recover a dropped table, Recovery Expert sometimes creates a new SMS tablespace in which to place the recovered table. The recovery will succeed, but subsequent attempts to recover dropped tables will fail because they try to create the same SMS tablespace, which now exists. To avoid this problem, you should rename the newly-created SMS tablespace after you recover a dropped table. You can determine the name of the SMS tablespace Recovery Expert creates by looking at the recovery progress information on the Summary panel for the name of the tablespace that is backed up. Rename this tablespace to some other name using the Control Center or the Command Line Processor. An example of a CLP command to do this would be: RENAME TABLESPACE USERSPACE1_ARY TO RECSPACE_1 where "USERSPACE1_ARY" is the name of the tablespace created by the Recovery Expert, and "RECSPACE_1" is the new name to give the tablespace. Each time you recover a dropped table, you should rename the tablespace the recovery creates to a different name. After renaming the tablespace, you should update your Versioning Repository for that database, as you would whenever you create, alter or drop any object. 5.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS To install this FixPak for DB2 Recovery Expert for Multiplatforms, complete the following tasks: 1.
