If you are using evaluation code, the evaluation code enables you to try this product for a period of 60 days. After 60-days, you must purchase a license to continue to use the product. When you purchase the product, the license is enforced based upon the platform on which you are running IBM DB2 Grouper server. If you do not purchase the product, The DB2 Grouper client will continue to run, but the server will not. Read NOTICES in Section 7.1, "Use of Evaluation Code and the License Agreement" provided with your evaluation copy of the program. 1.2 Language support DB2 Grouper is a translated product that supports the following languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The product will select the appropriate language according to the system locale definition. The default language is English. The new messages in this fix pack will not be translated. Console installation is not supported for the Russian version. 1.3 Corrected Known Problems The following problem has been corrected with this fix pack. APAR PK25006: If the Grouper component install has multiple databases on a system the uninstall for a single database fails to be removed correctly. DB2 objects are left on the system for the database that were requested to be removed. 1.4 Other changes 1.4.1 The following improvements have been made: - UOW Discovery perfomance has been improved on the Linux, Unix, Windows platforms. - The ability to run group discovery interactively has been added. - You can now run cfgNewDb in console mode. - The "Record in Database" button has been added to the Non-enforced RI dialog. - The group menu now has a UMRI Recommender function to suggest possible UMRI relationships between tables in a group. 2.0 PREREQUISITES DB2 Grouper has hardware and software requirements. 2.1 Hardware requirements for DB2 Grouper server DB2 Grouper server has the following hardware requirements: -Memory and disk space sufficient to fulfill DB2 minimum requirements. -Approxomately 100 MB of temporary disk space for product installation. -Approximately 150 MB of disk space for installing the product files. -Approximately 40 MB of free disk space during product run time. 2.2 Software requirements for DB2 Grouper server To install this Fix Pack, you must have DB2 Grouper server V1.1 installed on your machine. You must have one or more of the following: -IBM DB2 Version 8 Fix Pack 7 or later. -DB2 V9 installed on your machine. Supported platforms for DB2 Grouper: -AIX Version 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 -Windows XP, 2000, and 2003 -Solaris 8, 9,and 10 -Linux for Intel -Linux for pSeries (64-bit) -Linux for zSeries (64-bit) 2.2.1 Java Stored Procedure installation requirement To run Java stored procedures in DB2 Grouper, the Linux runtime linker must be able to access certain Java shared libraries, and DB2 must be able to load both of these libraries and the Java virtual machine. To allow this ability, add the Java shared libraries "/jre/bin" and the "/jre/bin/classic" path to /etc/ld.so.conf to create the links. To invoke the changes, run "ldconfig" as root after changing /etc/ld.so.conf. 2.3 Hardware requirements for DB2 Grouper client DB2 Grouper client has the following hardware requirements: -Memory and disk space sufficient to fulfill DB2 Connect minimum requirements. -Approxomately 100 MB of temporary disk space for product installation. -Approximately 150 MB of disk space for installing the product files. -Approximately 40 MB of free disk space during product run time. 2.4 Software requirements for DB2 Grouper client You must have one or more of the following: -IBM DB2 or DB2 Connect Version 8 Fix Pack 12 or later. -DB2 V9 installed on your machine. 3.0 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 3.1 IBM DB2 Grouper server Fix Pack 4 To install DB2 Grouper server Fix Pack 4, execute the following commands as the Windows administrative user or the root user on UNIX and Linux systems: GrouperServerFP4.exe (for Windows) GrouperServerFP4AIX.bin (for AIX) GrouperServerFP4Solaris.bin (for Solaris) GrouperServerFP4xLinux.bin (for xSeries for Linux) GrouperServerFP4pLinux.bin (for pSeries for Linux) GrouperServerFP4zLinux.bin (for zSeries for Linux) The installation program will detect whether the Grouper server GA version is installed. Because this fix pack requires that the GA version is installed, a message will be issued and the install program will exit if Grouper server is not detected.
