7526 Flash Loading Cable

In order to re-load the 7526's FLASH memory with a new version of the operating system, you will need a simple null-modem serial cable to interconnect your PC's serial port to the 7526's SERIAL 1 port. The only important signals in the cable are

TX connected to RX
RX connected to TX
GND connected to GND

Serial file transfer cables sold by computer retailers are suitable for this function. The following cables have been tried with success:

• Belkin F3X171-10 File Transfer Cable - Serial (10 ft., DB9 and DB25 female connectors on both ends). (Available also to IBM internals via PCWARES).
• Interex I-177 Serial Interlnk Cable (6 ft., DB9 and DB25 female connectors on both ends).
