Configuring OmniFind Enterprise Edition, Version 8.5 Fix Pack 3 to crawl documents in IBM FileNet P8, Version 4.5 with IBM Content Integrator, Version 8.5.1

Requirements:
IBM(R) Java(TM) 1.5 SR9
IBM Content Integrator V8.5.1

Restriction:
The Solaris operating environment is not supported.

Procedure:

Step 1. Install or upgrage to IBM Content Integrator V8.5.1.
Step 2. Configure the IBM FileNet(R) P8 connector on a remote system that has the WebSphere(R) application client installed.
Step 3. Configure IBM Content Integrator 8.5.1 and create the FileNet P8 Content Manager connector on the OmniFind Enterprise Edition crawler server.
Step 4. Create a Content Edition crawler to crawl the IBM FileNet P8 repository.

4.1 Install OmniFind Enterprise Edition V8.5 Fix Pack 3.

4.2 Update Java in OmniFind Enterprise Edition to JRE 1.5:
- Download the appropriate file from the fix pack download site:
  /aix/jvm/pap32devfix-20090327-jre.jar.zip
  /linux/jvm/ibm-java2-i386-50.tgz
  /win/jvm/ibm-java2-jre-50-win-i386.zip
- Back up the $ES_INSTALL_ROOT/_jvm directory.
- Expand the downloaded JRE package file in a temporary directory and replace the contents of ES_INSTALL_ROOT/_jvm with the extracted files.

4.3 Configure a Content Edition crawler:
- Run the escrvbr.vbs script (on Windows) or escrvbr.sh script (on AIX or Linux). In a multiple server environment, run the script on the crawler server.
- Restart OmniFind Enterprise Edition.
- Use the administration console to create a Content Edition crawler. Configure the crawler to use direct mode to crawl the Filenet P8 Content Manager Connector.
