Remote data access

There are two ways to access data at remote locations: using distributed unit of work or remote unit of work. Remote data access is fully supported in the VM and OS/390 environments. In the VSE environment, VSE provides DRDA-remote unit of work server functions. Distributed unit of work allows you to access data at a remote location and use it at your current location. Remote unit of work lets you connect to a remote location and access and use data at that location. Additionally, when you make a connection with remote unit of work, you can access data from yet another location and use it at the location you are currently connected to.
