When a new customer subscription request reaches the call center, the process steps followed are:
- Step 1: SimpleOrder initiates the selling process. The CSR collects necessary customer data and assists the customer in the sales negotiation. The Product availability and product configuration services provide support to the CSR in negotiating with the customer.
- Step 2: Next, SimpleOrder initiates the order-handling process. In this process, SimpleOrder runs pre-order validation and customer credit authorization checks. After customer qualification is complete, CSR initiates product configuration for the customer. The available products are then identified and customer eligibility of products and services is decided. The product configuration ends with completeness check.
- Step 3: The customer order is then validated.
- Step 4: Once validated, the customer Order is completed by collecting other relevant information such as:
- Billing Details
- Shipping details for products and services that require shipment
- Installation details for products and services that require field installation
- Step 5: Finally, the customer order is then issued for fulfillment. The order submission component runs a complete validation on customer order, prior to submission to downstream fulfillment applications.

The following are the steps involved in the SimpleOrder process flow, when a new customer subscription request reaches the call center.
- Step 1: SimpleOrder initiates the selling process. The CSR collects all the necessary customer data and assists customers in the sales negotiation. Product availability and product configurations provide business functions, which support the CSR in assisting the customer. The sales negotiation process runs within the order handling flow. SimpleOrder provides interfaces for different ordering channels like call center interfaces and RIM interfaces for Blackberry users. These interfaces work in collaboration with other application components like Sales Product Manager (SPM) and WCC to facilitate prospect management and sales negotiation.
- Step 2: Next, SimpleOrder initiates the order handling process. In this process the SimpleOrder solution implements/integrates various core and external application components for runtime process realization. These external application components translate to the assigned target products in an implementation engagement.
- Step 3: SimpleOrder performs the pre-order feasibility check. In this process SimpleOrder integrates to external application components for service address validation, credit authorization, request for activation due date, check for the availability of resources, and so on.
- Step 4: During the entire order handling process, SPM validates the To-Be configurations based on the customer qualification. During configuration process, SimpleOrder interfaces to external application components to fetch information on products and services currently in the customer order.
- Step 5: Finally, OCS which is the core SimpleOrder application component, is responsible for validating the customer order and submitting it for fulfillment to downstream Order Manager application(s).
