Rational PM’s reporting capabilities — RPM ENG348 Project Status Report

The RPM ENG348 Project Status Report replaces manual reporting. It can be used for status reporting both internally and to clients and replaces the OPAL status report (ENG 348). It can be found in the Reports section of the Portfolio Dashboard under “Multireporting Templates.”

This report significantly reduces the manual report creations that project managers regularly perform during the project lifecycle. The Project Status Report gathers information that has already been entered into the various RPM elements, such as issues, risks, WBS, financials, changes, and project description. RPM then automatically repackages the information into the report, which can be saved as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file.

However, the report is only as good as the information fed to it. Therefore, the project manager must be sure that RPM data is current when the report is generated.
