Rational PM’s reporting capabilities

Previous modules in this course have described how to enter project information into RPM using the various Description views. When all the project information has been loaded into RPM, its reporting capabilities can be fully leveraged.

Where to find reports

Reports are available in the Portfolio Dashboard. Reports are designed to meet the typical needs of periodic reporting (monthly, quarterly, and so on). RPM contains many Predefined Reports. However, each business unit can tailor the reports to meet its business needs.

Customizing reports

Reports are tailored and controlled by your organization’s RPM administrator. Customized reports are helpful when business units want to control the report format for consistency. For example, reports are useful for conducting project-to-project comparisons, establishing a standard format for stakeholder status meetings, and so on.
