Rational PM Work Management: The Task Description view

Description

The Task Description for a task can be accessed by clicking on the Description button with the task highlighted. Our brief review of the Task Description view includes only Constraints and Schedule Dates but there are more portlets that can be edited to completely describe a task.

Constraints

The Constraints portlet is used to set controls on the start and finish dates for work management elements, such as start-no-earlier-than or finish-no-later-than.

Schedule Dates

This portlet is used for setting the initial Start and Finish Dates for a task, as well as any updates to those dates and to other schedule information.

Like all Description views for RPM elements, the Task Description view contains portlets to add detailed information about the element. For Tasks, this includes portlets for identification (including ranking and states), task scope, current status, completion criteria, associated documents, and other information.
