Task
A project activity to which one or more resources can be assigned to perform work.
Summary Task
A task that is comprised of a series of sub-tasks, usually used to denote higher level activities and phases.Deliverable
The physical output or procedural outcome that represents the completion of some part of a project and is delivered to the customer.Work Product
The physical output or procedural outcome that represents the completion of some part of the project. As opposed to deliverables, work products are typically internal to the organization.Milestone
A significant event in the project life cycle. Typically used to identify the completion of a major deliverable, it commonly refers to the event itself and the specific point in time at which the event is scheduled to occur.
