IMS Connector for Java implements both IBM's Common Connector Framework Architecture (CCF) and Sun's J2EE Connector Architecture (J2C). These files are for: IMS Connector for Java J2C packages Version 2.1.0 IMS Connector for Java CCF packages Version 4.0.1 Note that IMS Connector for Java's J2C implementation is also referred to as the IBM WebSphere Adapter for IMS or, in general terms, as the IMS resource adapter. Installation Instructions ------------------------- The executables available for download place the files listed below in a target directory, for later deployment in an application server such as WebSphere Application Server. To run the installation: a. Select the executable for the platform on which you are performing the installation: For AIX - select imsicosetup_aix_210 For Linux - select imsicosetup_linux_210 For Linux for z/OS - select imsicosetup_linux390_210 (see note below) For Sun Solaris - select imsicosetup_solaris_210 For Windows - select imsicosetup_win_210.exe Note: Since a browser interface is not always available on Linux for z/OS, the following scenario may be used to install the IMS Connector for Java 2.1.0 runtime component: - Download the IMS Connector for Java 2.1.0 executable to the AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Windows machine from which you are going to access the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console. - From the browser on the AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Windows machine, access the WebSphere Application Server Administrative Console on the Linx for z/OS machine. - Install IMS Connector for Java 2.1.0 on the target Linux for z/OS machine. b. Start the downloaded executable, then follow the instructions in the installation wizard. Successful completion of the installation places the following files in directories IMSICO/J2C and IMSICO/CCF of a target directory of your choice (), or the default target directory. The default target directory is c:\Program Files for Windows platforms. represents language specific directories for countries for which translations are available. Currently, updated versions of HowTo.HTML and IMSICOIVP.HTML are available in English only. /IMSICO/J2C/README - Information about the files in directory J2C. /IMSICO/J2C/imsico.rar - Resource Adapter Archive file for IMS Connector for Java (J2C). See the section "Deploying IMS Connector for Java's RAR File" in /IMSICO/J2C/README for instructions on deploying this RAR file in WebSphere Application Server. /IMSICO/J2C//HowTo.html - Information about IMS Connector for Java. /IMSICO/J2C//IMSICOIVP.html - Information about the IVP. /IMSICO/J2C/IVP/IMSICOIVP.ear - The Enterprise Application Archive file for IMS Connector for Java's Installation Verification Program (IVP). This IVP verifies the deployment of IMS Connector for Java in WebSphere Application Server. /IMSICO/CCF/README - Information about the files in directory CCF. /IMSICO/CCF/imsconn.jar - Java Archive file for IMS Connector for Java (CCF) Deployment Instructions ----------------------- See the README files in the IMSICO/J2C and IMSICO/CCF folders of the target installation directory for deployment instructions. Uninstalling IMS Connector for Java ----------------------------------- If you wish to uninstall IMS Connector for Java you have two choices: 1. Remove the IMSICO folder from the target directory (), - or - 2. Use the uninstall.jar program provided in /_uninst. This method requires that the java command be accessible; i.e., JRE/JDK installed and classpath set appropriately. For example: a. From a command prompt, change to b. Enter the command: java -jar _uninst\uninstall.jar It is important to note that the above uninstall removes the IMS Connector for Java files from the target directory, but DOES NOT remove IMS Connector for Java from WebSphere Application Server if it has already been deployed to the application server.
