IBM DB2 Performance Expert Version 2 Release 2, GA, Interim Fix 5 Install Instructions 1.0 Prerequisites 2.0 Problem Description 3.0 Installation Instructions ___________________________________________________________________ 1.0 Prerequisites DB2 Performance Expert V2.2 eGA is required in order to use Interim Fix 5. 2.0 Problem Description Interim Fix 5 solves the following problem: 2.1 APAR PK15264 SQL0407N DURING DB2GETSNAPSHOT FOR APPLICATION INFORMATION. Running Performance Expert Server an error might occur collecting history performance information for applications. Possible error message on the console: Error while taking history snapshot. PMGET failed, rc=-1: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/nn] SQL0407N Assignment of a NULL value to a NOT NULL column "TBSPACEID=nn, TABLEID=nn, COLNO=nn" is not allowed. SQLSTATE=23502 : nn tmptable.c -407 Reason: No data was returned by DB2 for application information (appl_info) which is reported in DB2 APAR IY61285 and available in DB2 V8 fixpack 10. 3.0. Installation Instructions 3.1. As DB2 instance owner stop Performance Expert Server. 3.2. Stop DB2 instance where Performance Expert Server runs. 3.3. Choose the file of your Performance Expert Server platform and extract the files. For UNIX and Linux: a. gzip -d db2pe2205_.tar.gz b. tar -xvf db2pe2205_.tar For Windows: Unzip the file db2pe2205_win.zip using WINZIP or any unzip utility of your choice. Contents: - for Windows: 'fpesnap328.dll' - for AIX: 'fpesnap328', 'fpesnap648' - for HPUX: 'fpesnap328', 'fpesnap648' - for Linux: 'fpesnap328', 'fpesnap648' - for Linux390: 'fpesnap328' - for linuxPPC: 'fpesnap648' - for Solaris: 'fpesnap328', 'fpesnap648' 3.4. Go to the 'bin' directory of your Performance Expert Server installation and save the existing fpesnap* (for Unix and Linux) or 'fpesnap328.dll' (for Windows) libraries to new names as backup. Note, that you must do it as root on UNIX and Linux platforms. 3.5. Copy the extracted fpesnap* / fpesnap328.dll libraries into the 'bin' directory of your Performance Expert Server installation. Note, that you must do this step as root on UNIX and Linux platforms. 3.6. On UNIX and Linux platforms change the permissions of the libraries to 755, the owner to root and group to system. 3.7. As DB2 instance owner start DB2 instance and Performance Expert Server.
