1.0 	Prerequisites

DB2 Performance Expert V2.2 eGA is required in order to use Interim Fix 4.

2.0	Problem Description

Interim Fix 4 solves the following problem:

2.1 APAR PK14431
 DB2 PE IS GETTING SQL0413N FOR THE PWHLOAD DURING THE START OF THE PE SERVER.
Running Performance Expert Server an overflow might happen loading Performance
Warehouse data.

Possible error message on the console:
PWHLOAD error: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/NT] SQL0413N  Overflow occurred during numeric data type conversion.  SQLSTATE=22003 
PWHLOAD terminated. 

Reason: Calculations with DEC(20,2) number limit can lead to overflow.

3.0	Installation Instructions

3.1. As DB2 instance owner stop Performance Expert Server.

3.2. Choose the file of your Performance Expert Server platform and extract the files. 

For UNIX and Linux:
a. gzip -d db2pe2204_unix.tar.gz
b. tar -xvf db2pe2204_unix.tar

For Windows:
 Unzip the file db2pe2204_win.zip using WINZIP or any unzip utility of your choice.

Contents:
- for all platforms: 'pefilldb.ddl'

3.3. Go to the 'bin' directory of your Performance Expert Server installation and save
the existing  'pefilldb.ddl' file to a new name as backup.
Note, that you must do this step as root on UNIX and Linux platforms.

3.4. Copy the extracted  'pefilldb.ddl' file into the 'bin' directory of
your Performance Expert Server installation.
Note, that you must do this step as root on UNIX and Linux platforms.

3.5. On UNIX and Linux platforms change the permissions of the file to 644, the owner
to root and group to system.

3.6. As DB2 instance owner start peconfig tool and reconfigure a monitored DB2 instance,
for which the SQL0413N error occured.

For that:
a. drop the monitored DB2 instance in peconfig
b. make sure that the performance database is removed from DB2 directories
c. configure the monitored DB2 instance again

3.7. As DB2 instance owner start Performance Expert Server.
