1.0 	Prerequisites

DB2 Performance Expert V2.2 Fix Pack 1 is required in order to use Interim Fix 8.

2.0	Problem Description

Interim Fix 8 solves the following problem:

STARTING PE AS A SERVICE FAILS WHEN THE LOGON ID IS A DOMAIN USER

Trying to install Performance Expert Server on Windows and using
a windows domain user during installation, the password of this user
is always rejected by the installation.


3.0. Installation Instructions

3.1. Stop Performance Expert Server on your workstation if started.

3.2. If you installed Performance Expert Server previously using a
local windows user (instead of domain user), deinstall Performance Expert Server first.

3.3. Extract the following file:

For Windows:
Unzip the file db2pe2208_win.zip using WINZIP or any unzip utility of your choice.

Contents:
- for Windows: 'db2pe.server.v2.2.0.1.tryandbuy.install-on-win.exe'

For Unix and Linux:
- the problem does not appear on Unix and Linux.

3.4. Use the extracted installation of Performance Expert Server
instead of the original one you received on CD or downloaded from WEB.

3.5. This installation is 'try and buy' version of Performance Expert Server.
Please contact your IBM representative to get a necessary licence file.
