1.0 	Prerequisites

DB2 Performance Expert V2.2 Fix Pack 1 is required in order to use Interim Fix 7.

2.0	Problem Description

Interim Fix 7 solves the following problem:

APAR PK23097
STARTING DB2 PE ON WINDOWS AS A SERVICE FAILS WITH THE RC=87 MSG.

Trying to start Performance Expert Server on Windows as a service,
the service is not started and an error window is displayed with error code 87 (Incorrect Parameter).


3.0	Installation Instructions

3.1. Stop Performance Expert Server on your workstation if started from command line.

3.2. Extract the following file:

For Windows:
Unzip the file db2pe2207_win.zip using WINZIP or any unzip utility of your choice.

Contents:
- for Windows: 'PESService.exe'

For Unix and Linux:
- the problem does not appear on Unix and Linux.

3.3. Go to the 'bin' directory of your Performance Expert Server installation and save
the existing 'PESService.exe' file to a new name as backup.

3.4. Copy the extracted 'PESService.exe' file into the 'bin' directory of
your Performance Expert Server installation.

3.9. Start Performance Expert Server as service.
