1.0 	Prerequisites

DB2 Performance Expert V2.1 Fix Pack 2 is required in order to use Interim Fix 2.


2.0	Problem Description

Interim Fix 1 solves the following 2 problems: 
APAR PQ58911: 
 - DB2 Performance Expert client on Unix/Linux does not start in DB2 version 7.
for platform SunOS only:
 - DB2 Performance Expert server utility 'petrace' does not work.


3.0	Installation Instructions

1. The file 'db2pe2122_unix.tar.gz' is common for all Unix and Linux platforms.
   Use command 'gzip -d' to uncompress the file and command 'tar -xvf' to
   extract the files.
   Contents:
     db2pe
     petrace 
2. Make a backup copy of file 'db2pe' in the <installation_directory>/bin of
   DB2PE client.
3. Copy the new file 'db2pe' to that directory, set the permissions to 555.

for SunOS only:
4. Make a backup copy of file 'petrace' in the <installation_directory>/bin of
   DB2PE server.
5. Copy the new file 'petrace' to that directory, set the permissions to 555.


4.0	Back out Instructions

Replace the new file(s) by the backup copy.
