Read this document before you use DB2® Everyplace® version 9 release 1.
Known limitations and restrictions
The following
known issues with DB2 Everyplace version 9.1 have been identified:
- When you perform a custom installation of DB2 Everyplace without DB2 version 9.1
pre-installed, if you specify no settings and select Save your
settings in a response file, you will receive a message saying
that the embedded DB2 version 9.1 will be installed. This does not install
the embedded DB2 version
9.1 but only collects information for the response file. After the response
file is created, install our product by using the response file and the command-line
installation tool.
- After you complete the basic configuration of DB2 Everyplace with WebSphere® Application
Server version 6.0.2.5 and start the DB2 Everyplace application server, the SystemOut.log will
contain the exception message of no permission to write the WebSphere Application
Server activity.log. This is because the owner of the DB2 Everyplace application
server does not have the necessary permission to write to the file activity.log in
that directory. This issue will not affect system usage and will be fixed
in the next release.
- If there is no DB2 Everyplace Sync Server instance created when you
start the configuration wizard, the configuration wizard will disappear after
you select the unconfiguration process. This is because the configuration
wizard could not find any instance to unconfigure. A message will be added
in the next release.
- You will get the message Network Error and the upgrade will fail
when you use the DB2 Everyplace Update Tool. This is caused by the
incompatibility between the embedded WebSphere Application Server version
6.0.2.5 and DB2 Everyplace version
9.1. The problem will be resolved in the next patch of version 9.1.
- Microsoft® SQL
Server 2000 is currently not supported as a source database. The problem will
be resolved in the next patch of version 9.1.
- If you use DataPropagatorâ„?subscriptions,
delete the index IBMSNAP.SIGNALX from the mirror database
after creating the Data Propagator subscriptions.
Usage note
The following shortcuts in the start
manual are for DB2 Everyplace Sync
Server and can only be used after product configuration: Start
Servlet for Sync Server, Stop Servlet for Sync Server, First
Steps, and Start Mobile Devices Administration Center.
Among them, Start Mobile Devices Administration Center can
also be used in remote administration mode after the configuration.
