A
language pack is an easy to use installer that adds the localized end user
interface to an application. This readme provides details on the contents and
the instructions on how to install the Application Engine (AE) 3.5.0,
Application Integration and the Content Engine (CE) 3.5.0 ‘Properties for
Workplace’ language packs. These
language packs need to be installed to have a localized FileNet AE 3.5.0
system. Please read the pre-installation requirements and installation
instructions below before installing the language packs.

3.5.0 ‘Properties for Workplace’ Language Pack
Installation
RequirementsBefore installing
the AE 3.5.0 and the CE 3.5.0 ‘Properties for WorkPlace’ language pack,
you must have installed the English AE 3.5.0 and CE 3.5.0. See the P8
Platform 3.5 Installation guide on http://www.css.filenet.com/docsvs/doccontent.asp?DocID=050110014 for information on
requirements, supported service packs, and certification history.
Note – If you are
installing the Application Integration component to the server the
installation must take place prior to installing the AE 3.5.0 Language
Pack, please refer to the ‘Application Integration installation’ section
of the readme. |
The P8 AE 3.5.0 release has
a new feature that allows multiple languages to be available to the end user
from a single install of AE. This version of the AE 3.5.0 Language Pack installs
the following languages:
1.
Arabic
2.
Chinese (Simplified)
3.
Chinese (Traditional)
4.
Czech
5.
Dutch
6.
Finnish
7.
French
8.
German
9.
Italian
10. Japanese
11. Korean
12. Polish
13. Portuguese
14. Russian
15. Spanish
16. Swedish
17. Thai
The AE 3.5.0 Language Pack
installer will be updated to include extra languages when they become available.
Please refer to the International Product Planner on eXtra to see when other
languages will become available
For CE 3.5.0 ‘Properties
for Workplace’ there is a Language Pack installer for each language (unlike AE
3.5.0 where there is one Language Pack which installs all the available
languages). The CE 3.5.0 ‘Properties for Workplace’ Language Pack installs by
default into a language folder in the Content Engine directory. If you installed
a Spanish and German version of the CE 3.5.0 ‘Properties for WorkPlace’ language
pack your directory structure would look like the
following.
…\ContentEngine\ES
…\ContentEngine\DE
\ApplicationEngine_Windows\setupwin32_multi.exe
– AE 3.5.0 language pack installer for Windows.
\ApplicationEngine_Solaris\setupsolarisSparc_multi.bin
– AE 3.5.0 language pack installer for Solaris.
\ApplicationEngine_HPUX\setuphp11x_multi.bin –
AE 3.5.0 language pack installer for HPUX.
\ApplicationEngine_Linux\setuphp11x_multi.bin –
AE 3.5.0 language pack installer for Linux.
\ContentEngine_PropertiesForWorkplace_Windows\
– CE 3.5.0 language pack installers for the Properties for WorkPlace (Windows
only).
\ApplicationIntegration\ –
Localized Application Integration components.
The
Application Integration installation is not a multi-lingual package.
This means
that there can only be one language of the Application Integration installer
present on an Application Server.
By
default, the Application Integration installer (ApplicationIntegration.exe)
present on the Application Engine Server is English.
If it is required to
have a non-English version of ApplicationIntegration.exe on the Application
Engine Server, download the appropriate language from the ftp site and copy to
the following location for Windows or UNIX:
Windows
…\FileNet\Workplace\download
UNIX
…/Filenet/Workplace/download
If you are installing the
Application Integration component to the server, the installation must take
place prior to installing the AE 3.5.0 Language Pack
An
alternative to having a non-English installer on the Application Server would be
to have the users download the required language installer directly to their
client PC.
The FileNet AE 3.5.0
Language Pack installs the following files to the Workplace
directory:
...Workplace/download
peResources.jar
wcmResources.jar
...Workplace/FnJavaV1Files
p8securityDlgResources.jar
...Workplace/WEB-INF/lib
p8workplaceResources.jar
peResources.jar
