Panagon WebDAV Provider Readme

The following notes describe known issues and critical information for this release. Where applicable, each note includes the associated Failure Report (FR) for reference and tracking purposes. For latest product notices, updates on documentation and software patches, always check the FileNET Worldwide Support website.

Server Issues

SharePoint Server should not be installed on the same machine as Panagon DAV. SharePoint will try to be the authoring protocol and DAV request will not work properly. Microsoft Q article Q304133 discusses this.

Dialog Box Issues

Transferring File Dialog Box

The Transferring File dialog box that appears when you open a document in an Office product does not disappear when you click Cancel. You must wait for the download to stop before the dialog box is cleared. (FR 33706)

Folder Name Issues

Unclear error message appears when creating folder names

An unclear error message appears when you create a folder and give it a name longer than 32 characters. Make sure your folder names are not longer than 32 characters to avoid this error message. (FR 33643)

Folder names using symbols

Do not use symbols when naming your IS or CS WebDAV folders. Using symbols will create an error message. (FR 33717)

Euro characters in folder names

Euro characters in your CS and IS folder names do not display properly in Windows Explorer through the WebDAV Provider. They show up as question mark characters in Windows Explorer. The Euro characters do display correctly in Dreamweaver. (FR 33715)

Document Issues

Euro characters in document names

Euro characters in your CS and IS document names do not display properly in Windows Explorer through the WebDAV Provider. They show up as question mark characters in Windows Explorer. The Euro characters do display correctly in Dreamweaver. (FR 33791)

Unable to perform a Save As function on an Excel document stored in a WebDAV folder

You receive an error if you try to use the Save As function to save an Excel document with a new file name. (FR 33777)

Unable to open an Access file in a WebDAV folder

Do not store your Access files in a WebDAV folder. If you try to open the file within that folder, the following error message is displayed:

MS Access is unable to open the data access page. The file you attempted to load was not recognized as HTML. You may have select the wrong file, or tried to open a database file off of a web server. (FR 33693)
