Tools integration preferences

The Tools integration site preferences add items, also called external references, to the Tools menu and its submenus (Advanced Tools and Administration). An item is a link; it specifies a web address. The web address can represent a website or a web-enabled application. For example, you can add a link to your corporate intranet which then appears on the Tools menu.

Tools integration items

Each defined item is listed under Tools integration items. You can modify or delete the item, or add a new item.

To add a new item:

  1. Navigate to Site Preferences > Tools integration.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. Type values for the Tools integration settings.
  4. Save your changes.

To edit settings for an existing item:

  1. Navigate to Site Preferences > Tools integration.
  2. Under Tools integration items, click the Modify link below the name of the desired item.
  3. Change the values for the settings as needed.
  4. Save your changes.

To remove an existing item:

  1. Navigate to Site Preferences > Tools integration.
  2. Under Tools integration items, click the Delete link below the name of the desired item.
  3. Click OK to complete the delete operation. The item is immediately deleted with no confirmation prompt.
