Workflow-based form operations
Forms that are assigned to steps of a workflow policy can have any of the following
buttons on the toolbar. Different buttons can appear at different steps of the
business process.
- Submit Submits
the data on your form to an external data source.
- PDF Generates a PDF
version of the form. You can print the PDF file from Acrobat Reader.
- Help Displays a help
message for the form.
- Save Saves
the filled out form to an object store in Workplace. It does not launch the
workflow or complete the task.
- Launch Saves the form data, launches
the workflow, and moves the form to the first step in the workflow. The workflow
task(s) can then be found in the user's Inbox or in a public queue.
- Attachments View
and edit attachments.
- Workflow Groups Modify
users/groups assigned to workflow groups.
- Complete Completes
the task and moves the work item to the next step.
- Move to Inbox Moves
the task from the public queue to the Inbox.
- Return To Sender Returns
the work item to the previous workflow participant. Also, returns a work item
to the public queue after you have moved it from the public queue to your
Inbox.
- Reassign Assigns
the task to a different user.
- Exit Cancels the task and does not
save edits. The workflow does not launch and the work item remains incomplete.
NOTE Buttons
can appear with a name that is different than the default name. For example,
the Submit or Launch button could be renamed Submit
Expense Report.
