ITX form templates that are deployed to object stores can be used to present and capture process content. For example, the content for an insurance claim process might be an insurance claim form that identifies the customer, describes the details of the claim, and states the approved claim amount.
When a custom step processor is applied to the Launch step in a workflow definition, an electronic form designed with FileNet eForms Designer appears as the user interface. In some cases, filling out the form or forms may be the process itself or the form can be an efficient and intelligent tool used to present data. At the Launch step, the workflow participant can fill out a form and perform a variety of tasks, such as launching the form data into a workflow or submitting an instance of the form data to a server. The workflow can then proceed to the next step where the same or a different form is presented.
Applying this step processor allows the form, form template policy, and workflow authors to quickly design a solution that combines a custom user interface with a workflow definition without the need for web development expertise.
