You can set vital records at the category/folder level
either while creating the category/folder or after you have created
the category/folder.
- Browse through the file plan to access the entity that
needs to be set as Vital.
- Access the Information page by clicking the entity's Get
Info icon:

- In the left panel of the Information page, click the Vital
Record link.
- Select the Vital Record Indicator check box to indicate
that the category/folder contains vital records. All records created
under the entity will then be automatically considered Vital.
- From the Vital Record Review Action list box, select the
action that should be launched with the periodic review/update cycle
of vital records. You need to create the actions that
are displayed in the Vital Record Review Action list box.
- From the Vital Record Review Event list box, select the
event to trigger the periodic review/update of vital records within
the entity. You need to create the events that are displayed
in the Vital Record Review Event list box.
- Click Apply to save the vital records
settings for the category/folder.
- Click Exit to close the page.
