Installing IBM Enterprise Records

Install IBM® Enterprise Records components on your designated servers. Configure your FileNet P8 environment and IBM Enterprise Records to work together.

The IBM Enterprise Records Web application (administrative client) and API's must be installed on the application server with Application Engine or Workplace XT, but you can install the other components on different servers. Before you install, ensure that your environment meets the minimum hardware and software requirements. You can distribute the IBM Enterprise Records software components among multiple servers. For both of these scenarios, you can install interactively or silently. For interactive installations, you complete the screens in the installation wizard. For silent installations, you must enter your values in a response file, and then run the installation from a command prompt.

The installation program installs the following components:
  • IBM Enterprise Records Web application (administration client)
  • APIs for custom web applications (\API\RMAPI) and bulk declaration services (\API\BDS_API) -
  • Disposition Sweep tool
  • Hold Sweep tool
  • Transfer tool
  • File Plan Import Export tool
To install a subset of these components, select Custom as the installation type in the installation wizard and then select which components to install on the Component Selection screen. For more information about distributing IBM Enterprise Records components across servers, see the related link.
