The WebDAV site preferences associate
a specific folder with an entry template. When a WebDAV client adds
a document to the specified folder, the associated entry template
is used to add the content and set the properties and security for
the document. The associated entry template is determined using the
following rules:
- If the defined folder has subfolders (children), subfolders inherit
the entry template association unless the subfolder has its own entry
template association defined. The subfolder can be associated to a
specific template, or the subfolder might not have a specific template
assigned.
- If an entry template association is defined for a specific folder,
but no entry template is assigned to the folder, the folder hierarchy
is "walked" upwards until a parent folder with an entry template association
is located. The entry template assigned to the parent folder will
be used.
- If you define an entry template association for a specific folder,
but no entry template is assigned to the folder, and no parent folder
has an assigned entry template, the default entry template is used.
The default template uses the Base Document class and default security.
In this case, "Not specified - Use default add document behavior"
displays for the Entry Template name.
