Backing up InfoSphere Enterprise Records configuration files
If an IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records server fails, you must restore the software, either by reinstalling the software from the IBM FileNet P8 Platform installation image or by restoring the server files from a complete server backup. After the server is restored, you can restore InfoSphere Enterprise Records functionality to the state before the failure by restoring its configuration files.
InfoSphere Enterprise Records data is contained in the Process Engine database and Content Engine object stores. See Process Engine and Content Engine for more information.
InfoSphere Enterprise Records is installed as an application on your Application Engine or Workplace XT server. Back up your application server according to the instructions of your application server vendor. Since application server configurations and directory structures vary from vendor to vendor, this section only provides general information about how InfoSphere Enterprise Records interacts with the application server. In general, back up any FileNet P8 files that you edit directly on the application server. Use the following table to determine the files to back up.
Where the Windows and UNIX paths are identical except for the separators, the Windows format is used.
