IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.+

Creating the IBM Enterprise Records Object store upgrade profile

You must create a IBM® Enterprise Records Object store upgrade profile to upgrade object stores from previous versions of FileNet® Records Manager or IBM Enterprise Records. The tasks associated with this profile allow you to upgrade from versions 4.0.0, 4.5.0 and 4.5.1. Other versions are not supported.

You need to complete the following tasks:

To create an Object store upgrade profile:

  1. Ensure that your Content Engine server is running.
  2. If IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager is not already running, start the IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager.
  3. Start the Create New Installation Profile wizard by selecting File > New Installation Profile.
  4. Complete the wizard screens by using the values in order.
    • Select the Profile type, Object store upgrade profile.
    • You must complete the Create Upgrade Add-Ons task before you upgrade your existing File Plan and Record Object Stores.
    • You must complete the Upgrade File Plan Object Store task before you Transfer Upgraded Workflows.
  5. Optional: In the Set Properties for Content Engine Connection screen, click Test Connection to test the connection between Configuration Manager and the Content Engine server by using the information that you provided. If the test fails, make sure that the Content Engine server is running and that the Content Engine server property values that you entered match the values that are defined in your Content Engine server.
  6. Optional: The profile you created is displayed as an icon in the left profile pane along with tasks and icons.
    1. Complete the Create Upgrade Add-ons task. The Create Upgrade Add-ons task creates IBM Enterprise Records data model add-ons in the Content Engine for each data model and for Record Object Stores. These Add-Ons are used to upgrade the object stores. Specify the data model to use. The add-ons are used to upgrade prior versions of File Plan and Record Object Stores. The add-ons created are for the particular data model selected. The task may be run again if upgrade add-ons for other data models are needed. The following list is a complete list of all upgrade add-ons for all data models:
      Add-ons
      • Enterprise Records Upgrade 4.0.0 > 5.1.0 Base FPOS

Before you add add-ons, you should verify that there are no add-ons already added to the domain, except add-ons from FileNet Records Manager V4.5.0 and IBM InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records V4.5.1 during an upgrade. To check for existing add-ons, log on to IBM Enterprise Records from the Application Engine server or the Workplace XT server as the GCD administrator and select the AddOns node. Here is a list of required add-ons by data model.
