WebDAV handles multiple content documents differently than Workplace
XT. When a multiple content document is opened for viewing or editing,
the first content element within the document is provided to the WebDAV
client. This means that if a WebDAV client views and edits a multi-content
document, any WebDAV operations will be carried out on the first content
element only. The rest of the elements are not changed.
If you are using WebDAV clients to edit multiple content documents,
consider the following:
- Verify that when a multi-content document is deleted using a WebDAV
client by a user who has access rights to delete multi-content element
documents, then the entire document (all of the content elements)
are deleted. From Workplace XT, verify that none of the versions of
the document remain in the object store.
- Verify that when the user does not have access rights to delete
a multi-content element document, then the document cannot be deleted
when accessed using a WebDAV client.
- Verify that when a multi-content document is opened and edited
using a WebDAV client, only the first content element within the document
is available to WebDAV for editing. Prerequisite: The user must have
access rights to edit a multi-content element document.
- Verify that a user having access rights to access multi-content
element documents is able to open, edit and save the first content
element in a multi-content element document from a WebDAV client.
From Workplace XT, verify that the version saved from WebDAV contains
only the first content element. Also verify that the previous versions
of the document are intact.
- Verify that when the user does not have access rights to save
a multi-content element document, the document cannot be saved when
accessed from a WebDAV client.
- Verify that for a multi-content element document, when the only
version available on the content engine is a minor version, the document
can still be opened from a WebDAV client.
- Verify that for a multi-content element document, when a document
is opened, updated and saved from a WebDAV client, the version number
of the document is updated to the next major version on the Content
Engine server. The updated version contains only the first content
element of the multi-content element document. The other content elements
are not carried forward to the new version.
- Verify that when a multi-content document is opened for viewing
from a WebDAV client, only the first content element within the document
is available to the WebDAV client. The user must have access rights
to view multi-content element documents.
- Verify that when the user does not have access rights to view
a multi-content element document, then the document cannot be viewed
when accessed from a WebDAV client. From Workplace XT, delete the
first content of a multi-content element document. From WebDAV, attempt
to open the document. Verify that a user friendly error message is
given to the user.
