Task Step - Attachments view

The Task Step page displays the workflow information, attachments, data fields, workflow groups, milestones, and comment history for a work item. You can enter any information needed for this step in the workflow and complete the step or reassign the work item to another user. For more information, see View and edit attachments.

The Attachments view contains the following controls and content:

Views

Select the type of information to view:

Actions

Select an action to perform for this step.

Instructions

Displays any special instructions for this step in the workflow. The person who created the workflow determines what instructions are included. If the instruction text is not visible, click the Arrow icon.

Path

Displays the work item name and step name.

Attachment

Displays the hierarchy navigation to the selected attachment. You can click All Attachments to view the top-level list of attachments.

Attachment

Lists the navigation path to the attachments currently displayed. You can click a name in the hierarchy to navigate upwards. For example, click All Attachments to see top-level list of attachment names.

Attachments

Lists the attachments for this step in the workflow. An attachment can be either a single object or an array of objects, such as a document, a folder, a stored search, a search template, a publishing template, or a workflow definition file. Click an attachment name link from the list to display the list of objects assigned to the attachment. If no object is assigned to the attachment, then Unassigned is displayed for the object name. You can click an object name to open it, or click Get Info to view the information page for the assigned object.

Note:
  • In a workflow step that uses CE_Operations for a publishing operation, when copy publishing is selected, the attachment is returned immediately, and then the workflow continues to the next step. When a transformation operation is selected (PDF or HTML), the new document in PDF or HTML is published, but not returned as an attachment—the workflow continues to the next step without the transformed document as the attachment.
  • If you are using Netscape 6.0 or higher and cannot open a UNC file attachment, contact your system administrator. A UNC attachment name looks like
    file:\\machine_name\sharename\directory\file.ext
    For example:
    file:\\D:\JanuaryReports\Region7.xls
    .

Assign

Click Assign to assign a file in an object store to the attachment.

Assign UNC/URL

Click Assign UNC/URL to assign a file on a network drive or on a web server. For example, a file on your corporate intranet.

Unassign

Click Unassign to remove a file from the attachment.
