Setting the link class site preference

To create and maintain links in IBM® Enterprise Records, you must set the Editable Link Classes site preference using Workplace or Workplace XT. Set this site preference for each object store in which you want to create and maintain links.

To set the site preference:

  1. Launch Workplace and sign in as a member of the Application Engine Administrators group.
  2. Select the Admin tab and click Site Preferences.
  3. Select the Object Stores page to display a list of available object stores.
  4. Click the object store for which you want to set the links-related site preference.
  5. Scroll down to access the Editable Link Classes section of the page and click Add Link Class.
  6. Select RM Link to display all types of IBM Enterprise Records links.
  7. If you want to make only a specific type of link available in IBM Enterprise Records, click that link and then click Accept; otherwise, click Accept to make all of the displayed links available in IBM Enterprise Records. An entry for each link class you selected displays in the Editable Link Classes section.
  8. Select the Include Subclasses check box.
  9. Ensure that the Allow Create, Allow Modify, and Allow Delete check boxes are selected to allow users to create, modify, or delete links in IBM Enterprise Records.
  10. Click Apply to save the changes.
  11. Click Exit to close the Site Preferences page.
