Folder cache timeout interval (minutes)

The Folder cache timeout interval (minutes) site preference determines the length of time that must elapse before the folder content cache is updated with fresh data in Workplace XT secondary pages. The default setting is 15 minutes. The Use folder content caching setting must be set to Yes for this preference to have any effect.

If folder content caching is enabled, and the folder cache timeout interval expires, the cache is not immediately updated. An update requires that, in addition to caching being enabled and the expiration of the timeout interval, the user must have navigated away from the folder. The automatic update is triggered when the user returns to view the folder again in Browse. At that point, the folder content cache is updated with new data from the Content Engine server.

The timeout interval is based on the time of initial access to the folder during the current session. If the user navigates away from the folder and then returns for a second or third view from the Browse page, the timeout counter is not affected.
