For declaring physical records in IBM® Enterprise
Records, you can create entry templates
that specify physical record declaration templates. By default, IBM Enterprise
Records includes the IBM Enterprise
Records Physical Record Declare
Template that helps you to declare physical records. The
physical record declare entry template can provide predefined records
classes, record classification, and properties, and some of the wizard
pages can be hidden for faster processing.
IBM Enterprise
Records supports
more than one entry template. At the time of declaring a physical
record, you can select a template from the available list of templates.
Using the Application Engine or Workplace XT application, you can create
record declaration entry templates. The Add Entry Template
Wizard in Workplace walks you through each step of creating
an entry template. You must have access to the Advanced
Tools in the Author page to create
entry templates.
To start the Entry Template Designer Wizard:
- In Application Engine,
click Author and then Advanced Tools.
In Workplace XT, go to Browse mode
and click Tools, Advanced Tools, Entry
Templates, Add...
- In Application Engine,
click Add Entry Template and
select the Declare as Record Entry Template.
In Workplace XT, just select
the Declare as Record Entry Template.
- Click Select Class and choose Marker
Record in the appropriate FPOS.
- Select the File Plan Location. To
disallow changing the location, you can set the access level for this
field to Hide.
- Optionally, you might want to hide the entire step by clicking Hide
Record File Plan Locations step.
- Complete remaining steps. For more information, click Help.
- Save the entry template in the Records Management/Templates folder
for the appropriate FPOS object store.
