Set vital records

You can set vital records at the category/folder level either while creating the category/folder or after you have created the category/folder.

To set vital records

  1. Browse through the file plan to access the entity that needs to be set as Vital.
  2. Access the Information page by clicking the entity's Get Info icon: Get Info icon.
  3. In the left panel of the Information page, click the Vital Record link.
  4. Select the Vital Record Indicator check box to indicate that the category/folder contains vital records. All records created under the entity will then be automatically considered Vital.
  5. From the Vital Record Review Action list box, select the action that should be launched with the periodic review/update cycle of vital records.

    NOTE  You need to create the actions that are displayed in the Vital Record Review Action list box. For information about creating actions, see Add an action.

  6. From the Vital Record Review Event list box, select the event to trigger the periodic review/update of vital records within the entity.

    NOTE  You need to create the events that are displayed in the Vital Record Review Event list box. For more information about creating recurring events, refer to Add a recurring event trigger.

  7. Click Apply to save the vital records settings for the category/folder.
  8. Click Exit to close the page.
