Increasing time-out on IBM FileNet® P8 Platform 4.0

On your version 4.0 Content Engine server, set or adjust the transaction time-out value for your application server.

To complete application server tasks:

Follow the instructions in the IBM FileNet P8 Platform Installation and Upgrade Guide for your particular application server, as indicated in the following procedures.
Option Description
WebSphere® Application Server Complete the To adjust the WebSphere Application Server transaction timeout value (optional) procedure in the Configure an Application Server for Content Engine (WebSphere Application Server) task.
WebLogic Server Depending on your WebLogic Server version, perform the following procedure in the Configure an Application Server for Content Engine (WebLogic Server) task:
  • To adjust the WebLogic Server 9.2 transaction timeout value (optional)
JBoss Application Server
  1. On the Content Engine server, stop the JBoss Application Server server.
  2. Go to the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/conf/ directory and open the jboss-service.xml file for editing.
  3. Locate the TransactionTimeout attribute tag, and set its value to at least 600 (seconds). For example:
    <attribute name="Transaction
    Timeout">600</attribute>
  4. Save and close jboss-service.xml.
  5. Start the JBoss Application Server server.
