The Highlight Rectangle drawing tool draws a semi-transparent
colored layer on top of an area of the image. This is similar to using
a highlight marker on paper. The following examples show a highlight
rectangle drawn on an image. The second example shows the toolbar
and resize controls for the annotation.

The highlight rectangle annotation
is not available for images stored in an Image Services library.
To
draw a highlight rectangle:
- Click the Highlight Rectangle drawing tool.
- Mark the upper left corner and lower right corner for the
rectangle, using one of these methods:
- Click and hold the left mouse button down at the upper left corner
(starting point), then drag the mouse to the lower right corner (ending
point) while still holding the mouse button down. Lift up the mouse
button when the rectangle is the desired size.
- Click the left mouse button at the upper left corner (starting
point) for the rectangle, and immediately release the mouse button.
Move the cursor to the lower right corner (ending point), and then

size.
You can adjust the rectangle size and color using the annotation's
