IBM® Enterprise Records supports the management, control, and tracking of physical or informational objects, such as paper records and folders, videotapes, and books. In IBM Enterprise Records, these objects are represented by a physical record. This is an electronic file containing the metadata that describes the physical object and its location.
You can set up folders that represent your physical storage system using boxes, physical record folders, or hybrid record folders. The record that represents the physical item can be filed in any of those record folders or in an electronic folder.
