You must have installed the following core components of
the IBM® FileNet® P8 suite of products
before you install IBM Enterprise
Records: Content Engine, Process Engine, and Application Engine or Workplace XT.
You must have installed
Application Engine or
Workplace XT on the same server as
the
IBM Enterprise
Records software
and you must have installed
Content Engine,
and
Process Engine on servers
that connect to the server running
IBM Enterprise
Records software.
Important: You must first complete the Application Engine or Workplace XT installation, including
configuring the application server and installing the latest Content Engine and Process Engine client files on the server.
Failing to complete this step might prevent the IBM Enterprise
Records Configuration Manager
program from completing successfully.
To install or ready your core components:
- Update Content Engine to
the latest patch levels that are compatible with IBM Enterprise
Records. See the IBM FileNet P8 Compatibility Matrix to determine the
most current, compatible fix pack levels for the core components.
The environment must meet all applicable requirements listed in the IBM FileNet P8 Hardware and Software
Requirements document.
- Update Process Engine to
the latest patch levels.
- Update Application Engine or Workplace XT to the latest patch levels.
Restriction: Running a single IBM Enterprise
Records installation configured
with both an Application Engine and Workplace XT system on the same server
is not supported.
- Install the Content Engine Java Client Files and Enterprise Manager (optional) on the server
where you install Crystal Reports if the site is using the reports
that are provided by IBM Enterprise
Records. Be sure you have the FileNet P8
Platform installation media available
so you are able to install the Java Client
Files. See the related link and the Crystal Reports documentation.
