To ensure that workflows run smoothly and to monitor the progress of workflows, every workflow definition should have one or more users or groups assigned as trackers. A tracker helps resolve problems when the workflow is running.
For example, if the workflow author has assigned you as the tracker for a workflow, you can view a graphical representation of a workflow that is currently in progress, including values at currently active steps, and historical information retrieved from event logs. You can also see the steps that have been completed, when they were completed, and the currently active steps. You can monitor the progress, manage participants, and modify data fields, attachments, and workflow groups used in the workflow.
You use Process Designer to assign or change trackers for a workflow. For more information about assigning a user as a tracker for a workflow, refer to the "Assign Trackers" topic in Process Engine help.
Once you have been assigned as a tracker for a workflow, you can use the Tracker queue/work items available in work queues in the Tasks page of the Workplace application.
For more information about workflows, refer to the "View workflow status" topic in Application Engine help.
