You can configure Image Viewer to use the Quick Start feature to speed up the time required to launch the Image Viewer application. When a user typically opens an image with Image Viewer, there is a slight delay while a new browser session and the Java application are initialized. You can configure Image Viewer to initialize an Image Viewer session at the same time that a web browser session is started so that Image Viewer loads quickly when a user opens an image.
When Quick Start is enabled on a Windows client, an icon is displayed in the System tray (bottom right of the Windows Desktop) and a menu item is added to the
menu. If the workstation is rebooted, the Quick Start feature remains enabled. The Quick Start feature is disabled by default. You must manually configure Quick Start for your site. Once configured, each end user can enable or disable Quick Start on a client as needed. See Enable Image Viewer Quick Start for instructions on enabling or disabling the Quick Start feature on a Windows client.
