Application Engine or Workplace XT server installation selections

Identify the Application Engine or Workplace XT server installation selections.

Requirements are listed in the IBM FileNet P8 Hardware and Software Requirements document.
  • If you are installing IBM® Enterprise Records with Application Engine, your web client operating system or browser language must be set to the same locale as Application Engine, and Content Engine and Process Engine must support the same locale as Application Engine.
  • If IBM Enterprise Records and either Application Engine or Workplace XT are configured for SSL, to use Application Engine or Workplace XT Java applets on a client machine, you must download a certificate, and then import the certificate into your Java plug-in keystore. For more information, see the IBM FileNet® P8 Help topic Workplace XT > Workplace User Help > Basics > Use Java Applets.
Important: You must be sure of which application serve type you want to install, Application Engine or Workplace XT. It is very difficult and counterproductive to switch to the other application serve type once you begin the IBM Enterprise Records installation.
