Transfering a workflow

Before you can launch a work item from a workflow definition, the workflow definition must be transferred, or saved, to the Process Engine server. Usually the workflow designer transfers the definition from Process Designer, but if necessary you can transfer the definition from Workplace XT.

Note:

To transfer a workflow definition:

  1. Navigate to the workflow definition you want to transfer, and select Transfer Workflow from the pop-up menu.
  2. If a workflow with the same name already exists in Process Engine, you can choose to use the same name or use another name.
    • Select Use this workflow name if you want to use the same workflow name. Any workflows launched after this transfer will use the updated workflow definition. Workflows in progress will not be affected.
    • Select Use another workflow name to use a different workflow name. Type a new name for the workflow or select an existing name from the drop-down list.
  3. Click Transfer to transfer the workflow definition. The workflow definition is validated for errors prior to the transfer.
