You can display (unhide) the record type property to allow
end users to view and select record types when declaring records.
Tip: - Record types provide a mechanism for associating a disposition
schedule with a record. The schedule associated with a record type
takes precedence over any other schedule that impacts the record.
Record types are created in the IBM® Enterprise
Records Web
Application and can be applied to records in one of two ways.
- A record type can be associated with a record class. When the
user selects the record class during declaration, they are also selecting
a record type. With this method, end users need not select or even
be aware of the record type.
- End users can select the record type during declaration.
- Using record types can cause performance implications, as additional
processing is required to evaluate the record type schedules.
