The IBM FileNet Personal Inbox web part displays the IBM FileNet P8 work items assigned to you. As workflows are started (either manually or automatically), work items are routed to queues for processing by the appropriate people within your department or company. The workflow definition determines where and when work items are routed.
You can select any work item in your inbox, and open it in the associated step processor, where you can complete the item, reassign it to someone else, or view its attachments, data fields, milestones, and history. (Custom step processors might not provide all of these options.)
NOTE The level of access you have to workflows and work items viewed in the Personal Inbox web part is based on the access rights configured for your FileNet P8 user account. Although you need the appropriate SharePoint permissions to view and access the Personal Inbox web part in a SharePoint site, it is the access rights associated with your FileNet P8 user account that determine what you are able to do when working with workflows and work items viewed in the Personal Inbox web part.
When a workflow is first started, the work item is opened in a launch processor. After you complete the launch step, the work item moves to a step processor for subsequent steps. IBM FileNet Connector for SharePoint Web Parts support standard and custom launch and step processors and an HTML form processor if you have the optional IBM FileNet P8 eForms installed.
A standard step processor provides links and buttons to do the following tasks:
