Add objects to a web folder

You can add objects to a Content Engine object store folder either from a supported client user interface, from Windows Explorer, or from My Computer.

Refer to the documentation from your specific client interface for questions regarding adding objects to the folders within your Network Place.

Note: You must have already configured a connection to Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office, Macromedia Dreamweaver, or Adobe® Go Live before you can add or modify documents.

To add an object from a client user interface:

Using a web folder-aware Office 2003 (or later) or Office XP application such as Microsoft Word, you can add a new document by using the application's Save or Save As function to save it to a web folder location.

  1. In Microsoft Word, open an existing file or create a new Word document.
  2. Click File > Save as, and then click the My Network Places icon.
  3. Double-click your WebDAV on <server_name> icon that was created when you connected to the Content Engine object stores. A list of available object stores displays.
  4. Select the object store and navigate to the folder where you want to save the Word document.
  5. Click Save.
