Configure Rules Listener

You can use Process Task Manager to configure the Rules Listener. To use Process Task Manager to configure the Rules Listener, you must install Rules Listener and Process Task Manager on the same server.

The workflow system uses Rules Listener to interact with the Rules Engine. In addition to configuring Rules Listener, you must enable and configure the Rules Listener connection from the workflow system. Use Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to access the workflow system remote servers properties.

To configure the Rules Listener:

  1. In Process Task Manager, open the General tab.
  2. Select the Rules Listener folder and edit the appropriate fields.
    Name Description
Port The Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) port that the Rules Listener uses. The default port is 32774. The port you enter must match the Rules Listener port you specify in Configuring other server connections.
Property file The location of the vendor-specific rules listener properties file.
Classpath The Java class path that is passed to the Rules Listener when it is started.
JRE parameters Java Runtime Environment (JRE) parameters that are passed to the Rules Listener when it is started. Use the JRE parameters to customize JRE for your environment.
  3. To enable automatic startup of this process when Rules Listener is restarted, select the Automatically started (Windows) or Allow automatic startup from command line (UNIX) check box.
  4. Click Apply when you are done.
