FileNet P8 Case Analyzer, Version 5.2.1

Routing

The Routing cube shows the number of work items taking a given route between two connected steps in a workflow. It contains the following dimensions and measures.

If a field available to you is not listed in the table below, it is a user-defined data field.

Table 1. Dimensions of Routing cube
Dimension / Levels Description
Data source
User name
Simulation name
Launch time
When the source of the data being analyzed is from Process Simulator, you can choose a specific simulation identified by the Simulation name, the name of the user who generated the simulation data, and the launch time of the simulation.

When the source of the data is from event logs, there is no separate data source information.

Route
Isolated region
Workflow
Version
Map
Step
Destination
The routes between the source step (Step) and the destination step (Destination), broken down by specific workflow definitions at a specific version.

Table 2. Measures of Routing cube
Measure Description
Route Count Route Count shows the number of work items taking a given path from the source step.
Route Percentage At the destination step level, Route Percentage shows the percentage of work items taking a given path from the source step.
Tip: The route percentage measure will have a value of zero when the Route dimension is not drilled down to the destination step level.

For example, a company might be interested in analyzing the number of errors that occur in customer orders, as represented by the following workflow diagram. The Error step is the destination for both errors in orders and errors in shipping. The user-defined fields Customer and Shipper are exposed in the workflow database and as dimensions for Case Analyzer.
