FileNet P8 Content Federation Services, Version 5.2.1   Database:  DB2 for z/OS

Creating a DB2 for z/OS database, table space, and user account

In an IBM® DB2® for z/OS® environment, the database administrator creates the database, table space, and user account.

Procedure

To create a database, table space, and user account for content federation:

  1. Log in as an OSUSER with SYSADM privilege.
  2. Create a database, giving it a unique name. The name restrictions are the same as the databases for Content Platform Engine.
  3. Use System Managed Storage (SMS) to configure system-managed storage for the Federator database with at least 50 MB physical storage is available for the database.
Note: Use UTF-8 collation settings by configuring CCSID UNICODE
  4. Create a user local to the operating system and add it to any DB2 for z/OS users group that exists. This user is referred to as cfs_db_user.
  5. Add this user to DB2 for z/OS as a database user.
  6. Assign the table space that you created to this user and grant this user either of the following permissions:
    • DBADM on the database
    • SYSADM (Entire instance permission)
  7. WebSphere® Application Server only: If the Federator database and Content Platform Engine do not use the same DB2 instance, or if the DB2 instance for the Federator database has a static TCP/IP port that is anything other than the default port (50000), you must configure a server alias. For assistance, see Setting host aliases for deployment on multiple servers.
