Creating a Content Federation Services for Image Services administrative user

Create a user to administer Content Federation Services for Image Services on the FileNet® Image Services system. Content Platform Engine uses the user name to log on to FileNet Image Services.

About this task

Use the FileNet Image Services Security Administration application to define a Content Federation Services for Image Services user account in FileNet Image Services for each Content Platform Engine to FileNet Image Services connection. Make that account a member of all relevant groups in the FileNet Image Services security database.

You can give the Content Federation Services for Image Services user access to documents stored in Image Services in two ways:

For example, you might choose to create a document class that is named SPECS with the following group permissions:

Read: mgmt
Write: engr
App/Ex: sales

To have full access to the documents in this document class, the user must be a member of all three groups.

Do not use the underscore character in the user name. Although underscore characters are normally valid in FileNet Image Services user names, Content Platform Engine does not support them.

If several Content Platform Engine servers access separate document classes on the same FileNet Image Services system, create a separate user ID for each Content Platform Engine server.
