You can configure security, permissions, and PDF/A conformance
levels for published PDF files.
Procedure
To configure general properties:
- Access the style template general properties:
- From the Start menu, select .
- Navigate to and select the style template that you want
to modify.
- Click Modify.
- Click Advanced and click the General tab.
- Configure the general settings:
- Select PDF File or PDF/A.
- If you select PDF File, you can
specify security and permissions information as follows:
- Set Password Required to Open Document
- Set a user password to restrict user access when a specific PDF
document is opened. Users are prompted to enter the password you specify
here. A password must contain 6 - 32 characters. The user and master
passwords cannot be the same.
- Set Password Required to Change Permissions and Passwords
- Set a master password to allow users to set or change permissions
or passwords. A password must contain 6 - 32 characters. The user
and master passwords cannot be the same.
- No Printing
- Prevent users from printing the file.
- No Changing the Document
- Prevent users from creating form fields as well as making any
other changes.
- No Content Copying or Extraction, Disable Accessibility
- Prevent users from copying text and graphics, and disabling the
accessibility interface.
- No Adding or Changing Comments and Form Fields
- Prevent users from adding or changing these areas. Users can still
complete the fields.
- If you select PDF/A,
you can specify the level of conformance to the PDF/A ISO standard.
- Conformance level
- Specify the level of conformance with the PDF/A standard. PDF/A
is an ISO standard for using the PDF format for the long-term archiving
of electronic documents.
