This tutorial includes Java™ code
that uses the Content Engine Web
Services (CEWS) transport to connect to Content Platform Engine.
Learning objectives
- Create and configure the IDE project with the required FileNet® P8 JARs.
- Add connection code that uses the CEWS transport.
- Create the project's runtime environment.
- Run the code to connect to Content Platform Engine.
Time required
Approximately
30 minutes.
Prerequisites
- Eclipse IDE, open source software that can be downloaded
from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/. The tutorial
uses version 3.5 of Eclipse. If you're using a different version of
the IDE, you might have to adapt some instructions for your specific
IDE version.
- Content Engine version 4.5.1
or higher, deployed on any supported application server. For supported
application servers, see the FileNet P8 Hardware and Software
Requirements .
To test the connection to the Content Platform Engine that you use to develop
a FileNet P8 application,
enter this URL in your web browser: http://<hostname>:<portnumber>/FileNet/Engine.
(The default ports are 9080 for WebSphere®, 8080 for JBoss, and 7001 for WebLogic.) If
the connection is successful, the Content Platform Engine returns an HTML page
that describes the Content Platform Engine startup
context; otherwise, it returns a list of errors.
- The following Content Engine Client software
must be installed:
- Jace.jar
- log4j.jar
- stax-api.jar
- xlxpScanner.jar
- xlxpScannerUtils.jar
- p8cel10n.jar
- JAAS configuration file, jaas.conf.WSI
