IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Version series error is generated during Federation Administration rule management

Federation completes with an error that the current document is not the tip of the version series.

Symptoms

The Federation Administration Rule Management tab reports that federation completed with import errors. The error listing includes the following error: CFS0106: Current P8 document is not the tip of the version series.

Causes

A new version of an existing source document was created in the source repository after the last time the document was federated; however, in the interim, the target document been checked out and checked in from the target repository, creating a new version that was not created by IBM® FileNet® Content Federation Services for Content Integrator. As a result, the version series in the source repository is no longer synchronized with version series in the source repository.

Resolving the problem

In Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, navigate to the federated document in the target repository and delete any new versions that were not created as a result of federation. The unique identifier of the last version that was federated can be determined by using the Federation Administration application to navigate to the error listing for the failed rule and examining the detail record for the error. The first line contains the unique identifier for the last version of the document that was not created by IBM FileNet Content Federation Services for Content Integrator, as shown in bracketed portion of the following example:
Current mapped P8 document isn't the current version of the series, request removed from queue:

Tip: To prevent future occurrences of this error, make sure that the default access rights for federated documents are configured to prevent non-administrator users from creating new versions.
