Managing document links (eProcess)

Create, edit, or delete links from a document to a workflow definition.

For more information about linking, see Links between documents and workflow definitions.

Notes:
  • To create, edit, or delete a link between a workflow definition and a document in the Content Services library, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrator's group on the Content Services library.
  • To create a link between a workflow definition and another workflow definition being used as a document, use the procedure in Managing workflow links rather than the procedure in this topic.
  • A link between a document and a workflow definition is specific to the workflow definition version. If a workflow definition changes, a new version is created. To use the new version, you must create a link from the document to that version of the workflow definition; see Updates to workflow definitions. By contrast, when you create a new version of a document that is linked to a workflow definition, it is not necessary to create a new link. The existing link is maintained.

To create, edit, or delete a link from a document to a workflow definition:

  1. If necessary, use the following steps to display the Document/Workflow Links window:
    1. In FileNet Web Services, select and log on to the Content Services library containing the document.
    2. Locate the desired document.
    3. Click the radio button to the left of the document name to select the document.
    4. Click Link Workflow on the lower toolbar.
  2. In the Document/Workflow Links window, the links that are already defined for the document display in the table. Take one of the following actions:
    Option Description
To create a new link Click Add.
To modify an existing link Select the link to modify, and then click Edit.
To delete an existing link Select the link and click Delete.
