Enables hostname and certificate validation over an https connection.
Consider disabling certificate validation
when the http device is within the same corporate firewall and using a self-signed certificate.
Disabling certificate validation is also useful in testing environments to simplify
application server setup so that self-signed certificates do not need to be installed
on the application server JVM.
