IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Determining local and global dates for FileNet Image Services to Content Platform Engine

Bidirectional replication translates dates between FileNet® Image Services and Content Platform Engine.

In this example, the FileNet Image Services and FileNet P8 systems are collocated in the New York time zone, which is UTC-5 Eastern Standard Time (EST). Whether the FileNet Image Services and Content Platform Engine systems are collocated in the same time zone has no effect in this case because FileNet Image Services does not record the time, and the current UTC date and time is used for the date of entry (document create date and time) in FileNet P8, and an arbitrary 12:00 time is added for dates of record.

The California FileNet Image Services user must be warned that the date of entry might be off by one day as compared to what was displayed, but the FileNet P8 users can be confident that dates of record are accurate.

The German FileNet P8 user must be warned that the date of entry might be off by one day, but dates of record are accurate.

It is a best practice to indicate in the indexes of the document the time zone and UTC correction to help users adjust the time.
