Authoring DITA documents (DITA publishing)

You can create DITA topics and maps by using the automatic classification option. This option allows you to define the relationships between the components.

Procedure

To create your first DITA topic and map, do these steps in the administration console as a FileNet P8 domain administrator (GCD_Admin) user:

  1. Create a folder on the object store where you want to store your DITA topics. This folder will hold your DITA topics and maps.
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store where you will store your DITA topics and maps.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, right-click Browse > Root folder and click New Folder.
    3. Complete the New Folder wizard.
  2. Create a DITA document:
    1. Start the New Document wizard by right-clicking the new folder and clicking New Document
    2. Name the file. The name of the document must be the same as the name of the file.
    3. In Document MIME type, enter application/dita+xml.
    4. Select Automatically classify this document.
Important: You must select this option each time you check in the document.

    2. Name the file with a .ditamap extension, for example, TC1.ditamap.
