IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Federated content systems

In a federated content system, content is created by external source repositories and the metadata for the content is federated to FileNet® P8. The content can then be accessed and managed by FileNet P8 applications.

Federated repositories are owned and under the direct control of the federated system's native services. You can use FileNet P8 to gain access to the content and metadata across several external repositories that use a common interface. When configured with a federated content management system, FileNet P8 supports single point of access, federated security, federated records management and federated business management processes.
