FileNet P8 Rendition Engine, Version 5.2.1

Specifying MIME types for IBM FileNet Rendition Engine

You can use the Style Template Manager to specify one or more MIME types in a style template. By attaching a particular style template to a publish template, you are effectively telling Workplace that for a selected source document you want to publish, filter and show only the publish templates that have the same MIME type as the source document.

About this task

A number of MIME types are supported and associated with the Supported publishing MIME types of applications. If there are multiple MIME types associated with an application, publishing primarily uses the officially registered (with IANA) MIME type if there is one, or the MIME types that are commonly used in WWW. Note that the official registered MIME type usually has the vendor (vnd) sub-tree such as "application/vnd.", "image/vnd.", for example, MS Excel has the following MIME type with vnd:
· application/vnd.ms-excel
Note: When a job ticket is generated, a document's MIME type is not used; a document's file name extension is used instead. For example, .doc is used for Word documents.

Procedure

To specify MIME types for a style template:

  1. Under Available MIME Type, select the MIME types that you want.
  2. If you want to include a MIME type that is not on the MIME type list, enter the MIME type under Enter Custom MIME Type, and then click > to add it to the MIME type list.
