IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator configuration and administration

IBM® FileNet® Content Federation Services for Content Integrator federates documents from multiple types of repositories, including IBM FileNet Content Manager, IBM Content Manager, IBM FileNet Content Services, Documentum Content Server, and Open Text Livelink Enterprise Server.

IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator communicates directly with other repository systems so that Content Platform Engine users can access the enterprise content that is stored in the external repositories. In a federated configuration, object content is stored in the external repositories. Metadata is stored in both the external repositories and the Content Platform Engine system.

With content federation, you can run property-based and full-text queries across multiple repositories. You can also run a query against a specific repository.

IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator provides a schema mapping facility that allows you to create a normalized view of metadata for multiple repositories with dissimilar metadata schemas.

When you federate content, you can move content from the external source repository to a local storage area in the target Content Platform Engine object store. After the federated content is moved to the object store, the content is deleted from the source repository.
