To ensure hosts file contents, the /etc/hosts file
must have the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the servers to be
used.
Procedure
- Ensure hosts file contents. On each AIX®, HPUX, HPUXi, Linux, Linux on System z®, or Solaris-based FileNet® P8 server that does not use
DNS (Domain Name Service) or NIS (Network Information Service), the /etc/hosts file
must contain the name and IP address of all servers it will communicate
with, including the remote database server, if applicable.
- Consult with the application server, database, and FileNet P8 administrators to determine
port requirements for all the servers in your environment. For details,
see FileNet P8 ports.
