IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Workflow properties - Web Services

If this workflow will invoke or provide Web Services, specify the Web Services. All other settings are optional, as needed by your application.

Your IBM® FileNet® license agreement determines the level of functionality that you see in Process Designer. As a consequence, some of the options described here might not be available for your system. See your system administrator for more information.

The Web Services tab displays all partner links, XML schemas, and XML data fields in the workflow definition—items that were inherited from a base workflow and items defined in the current workflow. You cannot delete an inherited partner link, XML schema, or XML data field; you can change only the value of an XML data field. See Workflow Preferences - Display to hide inherited items.

See Using Web Services in FileNet workflows for examples.

General properties

Incoming Web Services attachment folder - If this workflow uses Web Services operations that might include incoming attachments, specify a folder in your object store or library where these files will be stored.

Verify messages at runtime - When an XML message is received either as incoming data for a Receive system instruction or as a reply message from a Reply system instruction, you can specify whether to use the appropriate schema to validate the message at runtime as it is received.

Finalize existing web services operations - Select this option to prevent changes in the input and output parameters of existing operations in Receive and Reply functions in this workflow definition.

Partner Links

On the Partner Links tab, specify the Web Services partner links that will be used in this workflow. Partner links consist of a name and the WSDL URL for Invoke function, or a name and port definition for Receive functions. These are required before you can create Invoke, Receive, or Reply system functions.

XML Schema

For complex data in a Receive or Reply function, you might require an XML schema.

XML data fields

If the workflow uses Web Services operations that use XML mode instead of parameter mode, you can specify XML fields for the messages. You can also specify XML data fields for other uses.
