Creating a component queue

A component queue uses a custom component, such as a Java component, to process a workflow step. The custom component is called an adapter.

To create a component queue:

  1. In the navigation pane of Process Configuration Console, open the isolated region.
  2. Right-click Component Queues and click New.
  3. In the Add Component Queue Wizard window, do the following actions:
    1. In the Queue Name field, enter a name for the queue. This name is used in the list of component queues in Process Designer.
    2. Optional: In the Description field, enter a brief description of the queue.
    3. Click Next.
  4. In the Adapter list, select the appropriate adapter and configure it as indicated by the following table:

  5. Specify the adapter properties. See Adapter properties.
  6. Specify the JAAS credentials. See JAAS credentials.
  7. Click Finish.
  8. To complete the configuration, define the operations for the component queue.
    Tip: On the Component Properties window, you can specify exposed fields, indexes, and security for this component, as well as change the adapter and operation properties.
  9. Click Commit to apply these changes to your isolated region.

    You can commit the changes immediately, or you can wait until you finish all your changes.
