Various process-related components log messages in log and trace files on the Content Platform Engine server. You can use these files to troubleshoot problems that
occur when you install, configure, or use IBM®
FileNet® Content Federation Services for Content Manager
OnDemand.
There are two folders in the Content Platform Engine installation
directory that contain log and trace files:
- installation_directory/ContentEngine/data/logs/
- installation_directory/ContentEngine/data/Content_Engine_server/logs/
- installation_directory
- The path to the directory where Content Platform Engine is installed.
- Content_Engine_server
- The Content Platform Engine server
instance name.
The following files might be included in the directories:
- Content Platform Engine server: cesvr_system.log,
cesvr_trace.log
- ceinit: ceinit_system.log, ceinit_trace.log
- vwtool: vwtool_system.log, vwtool_trace.log
You can also set the following tracing levels on the
Content Federation Services for Content Manager OnDemand fixed content device.
- 0: No logging enabled
- 1: Log only ERROR events
- 2: Log only ERROR and WARNING events
- 3: Log ERROR, WARNING, and INFO events
- 4: Log ALL events
The default value is 0. Setting the tracing level to something other than zero, generates the
arswww.trace log file. This file records the ODWEK communications with the OD server.
For information about the log and trace files, see Viewing the IBM FileNet P8 log files.
