For each dimension used in a project, a lookup table is
required to provide meaningful information. For example, a "product"
dimension might be based on a lookup table that includes the productID,
productName, productType, productManufacturer, and so on. Dimensions
define a hierarchy for the information retrieved by the lookup table,
so that it can be organized and presented in a meaningful way.
Lookup tables are retrieved from the Case Analyzer store. The preconfigured Case Monitor objects provide ready-made
lookup tables for dimensions. When defining a lookup table, you can
optionally use the preconfigured CADB_Dimensions_JDBC_Agent
(Java™ Database Connectivity) data source agent to retrieve data from Case Analyzer.
When you expose
a new dimension on Case Analyzer for
use in a Case Monitor project,
you must create a lookup table and a dimension for it. See Create a new lookup table and dimension for instructions specific
to the Case Monitor project.
Preconfigured Case Monitor lookup tables and dimensions
The
following lookup tables and dimensions are provided in the Case Monitor project.
Tip: Lookup tables were previously known as contexts. Data streams
were previously known as events.
- Case
- The Case Type Lookup object contains information
about cases. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMCaseType table.
The Case Type Dimension provides the Case type level.
- The Case State Lookup object contains information
about cases. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMCaseState table.
The Case State Dimension provides the Case state
level.
- Task
- The Task Type Lookup object contains information
about activities. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMTaskType table.
The Task Type Dimension object provides the Task
type level.
- The Task State Lookup object contains information
about activities. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMTaskState table.
The Task State Dimension object provides the Task
state level.
- Queues
- The Queue lookup object contains information
about workflow queues and operations. It retrieves information from
the Case Analyzer D_DMQueueOp table.
The Queue Dimension provides levels for QueueName and Operation.
- User names
- The UserName_lookup object contains information
about workflow users. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMUser table.
The User_Dimension provides levels for User.
- Workflows
- The Workflow Lookup object contains information
about workflow definitions. It retrieves information from the Case Analyzer D_DMWorkflow_Version database
view. The Workflow Dimension object provides levels
for IsolatedRegion, Workflow, and Version.
- Workflow definitions
- The Workflow Definition Lookup object contains
information about workflow definitions. It retrieves information from
the Case Analyzer D_DMWorkflow_Definition database
view. The Workflow Definition Dimension object provides
levels for IsolatedRegion, Workflow, Version, Map,
and Step.
