Removing Rendition Engine software from a Rendition Engine

To complete the uninstallation, you must uninstall the Rendition Engine software, remove the local printer ports, and remove native application macros.

To remove IBM® FileNet® Rendition Engine software from Rendition Engine:

  1. Log on to the Rendition Engine server as FNRE_Admin.
  2. Stop the BusinessServiceServer Windows service before removing the software:
    1. Navigate to Start > Administrative Tool > Services.
    2. Double-click BusinessServiceServer.
    3. Click Stop.
  3. Remove the Rendition Engine software:
    1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel and double-click Uninstall a Program.
    2. Select IBM FileNet P8 Rendition Engine and click Change/Remove.
    3. Follow the screen prompts to remove the software. At the final screen, click Finish.
    4. Close the Add or Remove Programs window.
  4. Remove the printers:
    1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel.
    2. (Windows 2008) Double-click Printers.
    3. (Windows 2008 R2) Double-click View Devices and Printers.
    4. If a LIQUENT PDF Creator entry is included in the Printers and Faxes window, delete it.
    5. If a LIQUENT PDF Printer entry is included in the Printers and Faxes window, delete it.
    6. (Windows 2008) On the Printers window, select File > Server Properties.
    7. (Window 2008 R2) On the Devices and Printers window, select a printer (such as the Microsoft XPS Document Writer) and click the Print server properties toolbar button.
    8. On the Print Server Properties dialog box, select the Ports tab and delete the local port that point to: RE_install_path\ESPS.PS
    9. Select the Drivers tab and remove (if it exists) the printer driver Amyuni Document Converter 400.
  5. Restart the server.
  6. Verify that the LIQUENT software is removed:
    1. Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Verify that the IBM FileNet Rendition Engine entry and LIQUENT InSight Rendering 4.0 are removed.
    4. If LIQUENT InSight Rendering 4.0 is still there, remove it.
  7. Verify that all files are removed from RE_install_path and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Liquent. If there are files in these directories, delete the files manually.
  8. Verify that the LIQUENT key is removed:
    1. Select Start > Run.
    2. Type Regedit.
    3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.
    4. Verify that the LIQUENT key is removed. If the LIQUENT key is there, delete it.
  9. Restart the server.
