IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Retiring your FileNet Image Services system

After you move your content to Content Platform Engine, you can remove FileNet® Image Services from service.

About this task

You must delete the replication groups that have FileNet Image Services as an external repository. This action prevents subsequent updates on Content Platform Engine to be queued for replication to FileNet Image Services.

Use the Remote Admin Console on FileNet Image Services to delete the default class mappings.

Procedure

To remove FileNet Image Services from the content federation system:

  1. At a Remote Admin Console workstation, delete the property mappings.
  2. In the Content Platform Engine administration console, complete the following steps:
    1. Delete the document class mappings for the applicable FileNet Image Services external repositories.
    2. Delete the replication groups that use FileNet Image Services as an external repository.
    3. Delete the fixed storage areas for the FileNet Image Services repository. If the fixed storage areas cannot be deleted, mark them as Closed.
    4. Delete the external repositories and fixed content devices for the FileNet Image Services repository.
    5. Disable the inbound and outbound dispatchers on the Replication Subsystem tab of the domain.
