IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Creating or modifying an audit definition

To specify the events to be audited and other audit options, create an audit definition for each class that you want to audit. Multiple definitions can exist for the same event type; for example, you can create two audit definitions for the update event for the Document class.

About this task

An audit definition applies to all future instances of the class; existing instances are not affected. Also, the changes that you make to an audit definition apply to new audit entries; existing entries are not affected.

Procedure

Important: For query events, the correct class to audit depends on the applications that you use to submit queries. For more information, see Audit definition for query events from FileNet® P8 client applications.
To configure a class for auditing:

  1. Start the New Class wizard in the administration console:
    1. In the object store navigation pane, click the Data Design > Classes folder.
    2. Click the class folder that you want to enable for auditing.
  2. On the Audit Definitions tab, add, remove, or modify the audit events as necessary.
