By default, the FileNet® Image Services Catalog Export tool exports
catalog information and annotations for active documents. If you also want to federate documents
whose retention is considered closed, you must create a trigger file to export the closed
documents.
Procedure
To create a trigger file for exporting closed document
information:
- Log on as the FileNet Image Services software
user, such as fnsw, and stop the FileNet Image Services software.
- Create an empty trigger file. The presence of this file
alerts the Catalog Export tool to export the index properties of both
active and closed documents.

Description |
UNIX |
Use the touch command to create the following
file: /fnsw/local/trigger/INX_ce_export_all |
Windows |
Use a text editor to create the following file: \fnsw_loc\trigger\INX_ce_export_all |
- Start the FileNet Image Services software.
- View the event log file (elog) to verify that the INX_ce_export_all property is enabled.
- Run the Catalog Export tool. If you already exported the catalog information for a document class that contains some closed
documents, run the Catalog Export tool again for that document class, but do not select the
Re-Export option. The Catalog Export tool skips the active documents that
were already federated and federates only the closed documents.
