Recovering an object store and a file storage area

When you recover a file storage area, you can recover both the file storage area and its associated object store data.

Procedure

To recover an object store and a file storage area:

  1. Stop the Content Platform Engine application on all servers.
    Attention: Failure to stop the application server software can result in corrupted data in the recovered object store.
  2. Recover the file storage area. For a fixed storage area, you must also recover the fixed content device.
    Important: Because the location of the file storage area is stored in the global configuration database, you must recover a file storage area to the same location from which it was backed up. To move a file storage area to a new location, see Moving a file storage area.
  3. If the file storage area is configured for full-text search, recover the corresponding index areas.
    Tip: Alternatively, you can reindex the file storage area after the recovery is complete.
  4. Recover the object store data.
  5. Clear the content cache that is associated with the object store by manually deleting the contents of the content cache folder.
  6. Start the Content Platform Engine application on all servers.
