IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Empty pages are not replicated to FileNet Image Services

Content elements and references of zero length are not replicated from Content Platform Engine to FileNet® Image Services.

Symptoms

When documents are replicated from a Content Platform Engine object store to a FileNet Image Services repository, content elements and references of zero length are not replicated.

For example, a document has three content elements, one of which is empty. During bidirectional replication from the object store, the empty content element is removed and the document is stored in the FileNet Image Services repository with only two content elements. As a result, there are more content elements in the object store than in the FileNet Image Services repository for the same document. When you view the document in the object store, you see the document in its entirety. When you view the document in the FileNet Image Services repository, the document is missing the empty page or content element.

Causes

FileNet Image Services cannot store empty files.
