FileNet P8 Rendition Engine, Version 5.2            Operating systems:  Windows

Creating Oracle table spaces for Rendition Engine

Use the Oracle-Repository.sql script to create Oracle table spaces for Rendition Engine.

Complete this task on the server where you installed the Oracle Server software.

Important: The table spaces are for the exclusive use of IBM® FileNet® Rendition Engine and cannot be shared with any other FileNet P8 component.

To create Oracle table spaces for Rendition Engine:

  1. Log on to the Oracle database server as an Oracle administrative user.
  2. Access the Rendition Engine installation package.
  3. Change to the \Resources directory.
  4. Copy the Oracle-Repository.sql script onto your server, and open it for editing.
Important: The Oracle-Repository.sql script is written with Windows paths. If the Oracle database for Rendition Engine is on a remote UNIX or Linux server, update the script with paths for UNIX.

You can modify several parameters in the script to meet specific business requirements. The following table lists those parameters and their default values. Make a note of the actual values that you assign, and of the user name and the password that you assign while running the script. The user name and password must be supplied later when you install the Rendition Engine software.

Parameter Default Value Actual Value That You Assigned
    data table space VISTADAT1
    index table space * VISTAIND1
    user name re_db_user (VISTAUSER)
password no default (assigned at run time)

The index table space is optional. This table space can be used to keep indexes separate from data in the data table space, if necessary, to improve system performance.

  5. Run the modified Oracle-Repository.sql script.
  6. Supply the required password for the re_db_user when you are prompted.
