Preparing your system for chunking

To prepare your system for chunking, ensure that a UNIQUE_ID property is defined.

About this task

The content federation exporter uses the UNIQUE_ID property to perform chunking. For some repositories, the UNIQUE_ID property is predefined. If it is not already defined, edit the data map to identify a property in the data map as the UNIQUE_ID property.

Procedure

To prepare your system for chunking:

  1. Open the IBM® Content Integrator Administration tool.
  2. Choose an existing data map from the Configuration Data tree or create a new data map.
  3. Review the list of available elements. If an existing element has unique values, it can be used as the UNIQUE_ID property. If there is not a suitable element, create a new element. You can use any name for this element.
  4. From the property list, select the unique repository property that you want to use. Make sure that this property supports the greater than or equal to (>=) operator and the less than (<) operator, can be queried, and is selectable.
  5. Click Property Description to open the Property Description window.
  6. Set the value of the Extended Data Type field to UNIQUE_ID.
  7. If you add an element to the property map, complete the rest of the fields in the Property Description window.
  8. Save your settings.
  9. Restart the IBM Content Integrator VeniceBridgeServices process.
  10. Restart the content federation exporter.
