Use the Federation Administration application to configure the content federation system.
For example, you can define rules that specify which documents to federate from the source
repositories.
Use the web-based Federation Administration application to perform the following tasks:
- General configuration
- Configure the exporter options for the federator service and identify specific Multipurpose
Internet Mail Extension (MIME) types.
- Rule builder
- Create and modify federation rules. A federation rule includes the criteria for selecting which
documents to federate from the source repository and the location within the target object store
where the federated documents are to be stored.
- Rule management
- Run federation rules immediately or schedule them to be run at specific times and monitor their
progress.
- Advanced configuration
- Change and manage passwords and manage Federator databases.
