The object store data includes metadata about content,
such as the revision number and the physical location of the content
in the file system. (The content can be stored in the object store
database or in a file storage area.) The object store data also includes
the data for the workflow system that is associated with the object
store. The object store database is updated frequently, whenever object
metadata is modified.
Attention: The retrieval of encrypted content relies upon
information that is included in the object store data. If that information
is lost, the content is effectively lost also. To avoid such problems,
regularly back up the object store data.
Important: - Always back up your object store data and Case Analyzer stores
after events are pruned from the workflow event log.
- Background search results can be stored in a different object store than the
objects that are searched. Although the search results can be regenerated by rerunning a
search, the search results tables cannot be recreated. Therefore, you must ensure that all
object stores are backed up at the same time.
Some of the actions that can cause updates to the object store
data are as follows:
- Additions or changes to class or property metadata
- Creation, update, or deletion of most Content Platform Engine objects, including sweeps, background search templates, and background search results
- Retrieval of document content if content access recording is enabled
- Queries and object retrieval if auditing is enabled
- Interactions with other IBM® or
third-party systems, such as IBM Enterprise Records or IBM Case Manager
- Updates from internal Content Platform Engine background
