Reindexing a class

Reindex a class to rebuild the index information for the objects that belong to the class.

Before you begin

Database indexes for index jobs. Create the appropriate database indexes to optimize index job performance.

About this task

Reindex a class after any change to the following items:

Tip: For information about submitting index jobs for multiple classes in a way that reindexes classes efficiently, see Full-text index replacement.

Procedure

To reindex the objects that belong to a particular class:

  1. Access the class in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, expand the Data Design > Classes folder and expand subfolders as necessary to find your class.
  2. Right-click the class and click one of the following options:
    • Index Class for Content Search. An index job is created for the class.
    • Index Class for Content Search (include subclasses). An index job is created for the class and subclasses.
  3. Optional: Listing index jobs. Monitor the progress of the index job.
