You must perform certain operating system procedures on all Windows-based servers where you install Rendition Engine, including installing supporting software, configuring your network, and verifying collocation and hard drive requirements.
For performance load reasons, install Rendition Engine and Content Platform Engine on separate servers.
You must install Rendition Engine on a server with an NTFS drive partition.
When you first run the Rendition Engine installation program, you create a new LIQUENT Vista domain, an administrative entity that is used to manage Rendition Engine services. For each subsequent execution of the Rendition Engine installation program on additional server machines, you can join an existing LIQUENT Vista domain or create another LIQUENT Vista domain.
If you will be using the additional Rendition Engine servers for publishing in the same FileNet® P8 domain, select to join the existing LIQUENT Vista domain to allow the Rendition Engine servers to share the workload.
