IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Completing work items

You can complete a work item for someone else without opening the step processor. You can complete multiple work items for the same step at the same time.

About this task

This type of intervention is not normally required. During normal work item processing, work items are locked, modified, and dispatched to the next step.

Tip: When an error occurs for a work item and the item is in the Conductor queue, you can sometimes fix the error by changing data values. For example, you might be able to add the missing participants for a step or fix a divide-by-zero error. For information about modifying work items, see Editing work items. After you fix the error, you can continue work item routing by completing the work item.
Important: You cannot complete a parent work item in the Delay system queue. You can, however, terminate the item. For information about parent and child work items, see About routing.
