Using IBM Enterprise Records to apply retention holds on federated documents

You can use IBM® Enterprise Records to declare a document as a record. A retention hold is then placed on the source document on the Content Manager OnDemand server. The disposition schedule for the source document is overridden and the hold remains in place until released by IBM Enterprise Records.

About this task

You can apply different retention holds to documents in the same or different application groups.
Tip: Using IBM Enterprise Records to assign retention holds on a document by document basis can result in a greatly increased number of requests that are sent to the Content Manager OnDemand server. You can achieve greater processing efficiency by assigning retention holds during bulk document imports and exports.

Procedure

To place a retention hold on a federated document by using IBM Enterprise Records:

Use IBM Enterprise Records to declare a document in Content Platform Engine as a record. This action places a retention hold on the source document in the Content Manager OnDemand server.
