You can configure move content audit records to include the values of specific properties that are associated with the document that is moved. Adding these properties allows you to include more detailed information about the document that is moved. Such additional information can later be used for searching and analyzing the audit log.
An important part of records management includes maintaining a proper chain of custody for items that are declared as records. The chain of custody refers to the chronological documentation or paper trail detailing the retrieval, custody, control, transfer, analysis, and disposition of a record throughout its lifetime.
Moving content that was declared as a record from an external repository to a Content Platform Engine object store is an event that affects the chain of custody and therefore must be recorded. You can use Content Platform Engine auditing capabilities to audit move content transactions. Move content auditing can record content movement activities for both new and previously federated documents.
