Setting additional configuration properties

By setting additional configuration properties you can fine-tune the behavior of the common base event adapter.

Create database authentication aliases:

Complete the following steps to set additional configuration properties for the BPM common base event adapter for WebSphere®:

  1. On the Administrative Console menu, select Servers > Application Servers > server > Server Infrastructure > Java and Process Management > Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine > Custom Properties.
  2. Click New to create any of the following additional properties:
Table 1. Additional configuration properties and description
    Property Description
com.ibm.p8.bpm.cbe.adaptor.maxEventsPerSecond The property restricts the rate at which the common base event adapter sends events to the monitor server. If the property is not defined, the common base event adapter sends events at a maximum rate of 100 per second.

The common base event adapter processes events much faster than the monitor server can process them. If the Java™ Message Service (JMS) queue fills up on the monitor server, the common base event adapter gets exceptions when it attempts to send new events.

com.ibm.p8.bpm.cbe.adaptor.statsInterval The interval, in seconds, at which statistics are written to the log file. If the property is not defined, statistics are written every hour.
com.ibm.p8.bpm.cbe.adaptor.peDBSchema The property value is the schema name of the workflow system event logs. The schema name is case sensitive. By default, Oracle and DB2 database schema name must be specified in uppercase.
  3. Click Save to Master Configuration, and then click Save.
  4. If you created any additional Java properties, restart the WebSphere Application Server before proceeding.
