IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Changing the IBM FileNet Rendition Engine database password on the IBM FileNet Rendition Engine server

Procedure

To change the Rendition Engine database password:

  1. On the database server, change the password for the Rendition Engine database user account for your SQL Server or Oracle database by using the appropriate database tools. The Rendition Engine passwords that might change are as follows:
    • Oracle: The password created for the VISTAUSER user when the Oracle-Repository.sql script is run.
    • MS SQL: The password for the <SQL Login> user, or the system administrator user password if the system administrator account is used to access the database.
  2. On each Rendition Engine server, perform the following steps:
    1. Log on to the Rendition Engine server as an FNRE_Admin user.
    2. Start Domain Manager. Because you changed the database password, the Repair Domain window opens.
    3. In the Repair Domain window, click Show Database Error to expand the errors that were captured. Confirm that the error indicates a logon failure.
    4. Enter the new database password.
    5. Close the window.
    6. Click Repair to save your changes and then close the Repair Domain window.
