JAAS credentials

If you are not using the CELogin context, then Java Authentication and Authorization Services (JAAS) credentials must be used for identification and permissions for both the workflow system and any external systems that are accessed.

The JAAS credentials consist of the following fields:

User name

A valid user name.

The user must have Query and Process access to the component queue. If the user does not have sufficient access rights, Component Manager reports an error when it starts the component. Access rights are defined in the Process Configure Console.

Password

The password that is associated with the user name.

Configuration context

The name of the set of login modules that JAAS uses for this component. For more information, see Developing Component Integrator-Based Workflow Applications.

If you specify a JAAS Configuration context, use the administrative tools to specify the appropriate login modules. (These administrative tools are provided by the application server that hosts the Content Platform Engine server.) The login modules can be included in the code module for the component. Ensure that the login modules are available to the application server.

You do not need to specify the JAAS Configuration context in the following circumstances:
  • The component code uses a login module that comes installed with the system (such as VWLoginModule).
  • The component code does not have any external authentication requirements.
