Create local FileNet® Image Services Cache Service Manager (CSM)
caches on the Content Platform Engine server by configuring FileNet Image Services as an application server to the main FileNet Image Services system. Then, configure Content Platform Engine to use the local CSM cache.
Procedure
To create a CSM cache for remote caching:
- Install the FileNet Image Services software on the Content Platform Engine server or on another server in the satellite system.
- Configure a cache-only FileNet Image Services application server in the
same NCH domain as the main FileNet Image Services root or index server. For instructions, see the FileNet Image Services documentation.
If the
Content Platform Engine server is linked to several remote FileNet Image Services systems, you must configure a separate physical application
server for each FileNet Image Services domain because only one instance of
FileNet Image Services can be configured on a single application server. Each
application server provides Content Platform Engine with Cache Services
Manager services for its associated FileNet Image Services domain.
- Install FileNet Image Services on the application servers that you
configured.
- Specify the local FileNet Image Services Cache Services Manager (CSM)
cache addresses to be used by the Content Platform Engine server.
- In the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, open the FileNet Image Services fixed content device.
- Click the Properties tab and specify a value for the CSM
Cache property. Enter the three-part NCH name of the local CSM cache for the FileNet Image Services application server systems that are local to Content Platform Engine in the format
page_cachen:domain:organization. For example, if the remote Content Platform Engine server is
connected to a FileNet Image Services system in Chicago that is named lakemich,
specify the following value:
page_cache2:lakemich:ExampleCo
The name of the page cache depends on how many page caches there are on the FileNet Image Services system. The name of the default page cache is usually
page_cache1 and is in the main FileNet Image Services system.
Subsequent page caches have names such as page_cache2 and
page_cache3. These names are automatically generated by FileNet Image Services when the caches are created.
All remote page caches for the content federation system must be in the same domain as the
FileNet Image Services system. There can be no more than one local Cache
Services Manager cache name for each FileNet Image Services domain.
