As part of a source or definition environment definition,
you must define how to connect to the environment.
To define or edit the connection parameters for an environment:
- In the FileNet® Deployment Manager Tree
View pane, expand the Environments node, then double-click
the environment.
- On the Content Platform Engine Connection tab,
complete the fields as shown in the following table to define the Content Platform Engine URL in this environment.

- In the Username field, type the
user name for the account that is to be used to connect to this environment.
- If your preferences are set to enable saving the password,
type the password for the account in the Password and Confirm
Password fields. If you did not enable saving
the password, you are prompted to enter a password the initial time FileNet Deployment Manager connects to Content Platform Engine. For more information,
see About passwords.
- If enabled saving the password is enabled and you want
to save the password in the configuration file, select the Save
the password check box.
- From the File menu, select Save or Save
All to save your connection settings.
- Click the Test Connection button. If FileNet Deployment Manager can
establish a connection by using the specified parameters, the message
"Successfully connected" is displayed in the text box immediately
below the Test Connection button.
