Adapter properties

The main adapter properties are listed in the Adapter Properties section of the Adapter tab for the component queue.

The following table describes these properties:

Batch Size

The number of step elements to query per batch at run time. The suggested minimum is 10.

Polling Rate

The amount of time, in milliseconds, between polls of the associated component queue to look for work; 1000 is equivalent to polling once per second. Frequent polling can negatively affect system performance if the queue tends to be empty.

Exception Submap

The submap to be used if an exception occurs while this component is processing a work item. The default submap is Malfunction, which routes work items to the Conductor queue. For more information about submaps, see About system maps.

You can open the work item to view a summary of the exception text.

Processing Timeout

The maximum amount of time, in milliseconds, for processing each step in the component method.

Auto Recovery Timeout

The amount of time after which a locked work object in the component queue is dispatched to the exception submap. This recovery behavior handles work objects that were locked due to server crashes or adapter classes that are not working properly.

Number of Dispatcher Tasks

The maximum number of worker threads that service the component queue.

Enable Queue Processing in Server

Whether to enable the processing of work items in the component queue.
