FileNet P8 Rendition Engine, Version 5.2            Operating systems:  Windows

Configuring Rendition Engine connections on Content Platform Engine

You can enable publishing to IBM® FileNet® P8 by configuring the Rendition Engine connections on the Content Platform Engine server.

LIQUENT software that runs on the Content Platform Engine server must connect to the Rendition Engine database and all of the Rendition Engine servers by using the specified ports for proprietary TCP/IP socket communication. The Information Technology Administrator specified these ports in Adding inbound rules to the Windows firewall.
Attention: Restart the application server on each Content Platform Engine server to clear the cached parameters of the Rendition Engine connection whenever any of the database-related parameters are modified in the Rendition Engine connection that is in use or when a different Rendition Engine connection is selected.

To configure a Rendition Engine connection to LIQUENT:

  1. Access the worksheet file, p8_worksheet.xls, that contains the parameter values to specify in the Rendition Engine installation. For more information about the worksheet, see Using the installation and upgrade worksheet. In the worksheet file, verify that the Data > Filter > AutoFilter command is enabled.
  2. As a GCD_admin, start the FileNet P8 Rendition Engine Connection wizard in the Content Platform Engine administration console. For more information about the GCD_admin, see Users required for Rendition Engine installation.
    1. In the domain navigation pane, right-click Global Configuration > Administration > Rendition Engine Connections > FileNet P8 Rendition Engine Connection and click New P8 Rendition Engine Connection.
  3. Complete the wizard.
  4. Specify the FileNet P8 Rendition Engine connection and enable publishing:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, select the domain.
    2. On the Publishing Subsystem tab, select the Rendition Engine connection that you just created and select Enable publishing.
