FileNet P8 Content Federation Services, Version 5.2.1       Application server:  WebSphere Application Server

Collocating the Federation Administration application and Content Platform Engine on different WebSphere Application Server instances

The Federation Administration application can be deployed on the same WebSphere® Application Server installation as Content Platform Engine but in its own server instance.

Procedure

To deploy separate instances of the Federation Administration application and Content Platform Engine on WebSphere Application Server:

  1. Use the WebSphere Application Server Profile Management Tool to create a profile. Note the administrative console port, such as 9061. You use this port when you open the WebSphere Application Server administrative console for this new profile. Also note the HTTP Transport Port that is automatically assigned, such as 9081. Use this port for the Federation Administration application.
  2. Start the server for this new profile.
  3. Open the WebSphere Application Server administrator console for this new profile.
  4. Deploy the Federation Administration application as described in the stand-alone deployment section for WebSphere Application Server.
  5. To start the Federation Administration application, use the HTTP Transport Port that you set up when you created this new profile. For example, use the URL http://localhost:9081/FedAdmin.
