Use the following procedures to back up and restore the
BPM common base event adapter for IBM®
WebSphere® Business Monitor
- Back up the BPM common base event adapter for WebSphere:
- Stop the common base event adapter application through
the administrative console.
- Back up the common base event adapter database by using
the DB2® Control Center.
- Back up WebSphere Business
Monitor by
following the procedures provided by WebSphere.
- Restart the common base event adapter.
- Restore the BPM common base event adapter for WebSphere from a backup:
- Stop the common base event adapter application through
the administrative console.
- Restore the WebSphere Business
Monitor following
the procedures provided by WebSphere.
- Restore the common base event adapter database by using
the DB2 Control Center.
- Restart the common base event adapter.
- To ensure synchronization between the BPM common base event
adapter for WebSphere and
the workflow system, follow these rules.
- If the workflow system is restored, then restore the
BPM common base event adapter for WebSphere to
a backup taken at the same time as or earlier than the workflow system
backup.
- When restoring the common base event adapter, it can
resynchronize with the workflow system as long as the workflow event
logs have not been pruned since the date of the common base event
adapter backup that is being restored.
- When pruning workflow events logs, perform the following
backup procedure to ensure a recoverable BPM common base event adapter
for WebSphere backup.
- Stop Content Platform Engine and
the common base event adapter.
- Back up the workflow system.
- Back up the common base event adapter following the
prior instructions. Do not restart the common base event adapter after
the backup is complete. Do the following steps first.
- When the workflow system backup is complete, restart Content Platform Engine.
- Prune events from the workflow event log tables.
- Restart the common base event adapter.
