Before you can create a fixed content device object on Content Platform Engine, you must configure the Atmos device, and the
device must be accessible to the Content Platform Engine
network.
About this task
To configure an Atmos device, follow these requirements:
- There must be at least one Atmos Policy that is defined for a specified
retention. The Start Delay Window on this Policy must be set to a no more than 1
minute and automatic deletion must be disabled. Retention must remain enabled on
the Policy while in use by Content Platform Engine and
strict alignment is in effect.
- A Policy supporting retention must be defined as the default policy, or a Policy
Selector must be defined that can be triggered by a metadata update to assign a
Policy supporting retention to a specific object. This metadata specification
must be included in the ResourceString property on the associated fixed storage
area.
- Objects that are created in Atmos by Content Platform Engine must not be reassigned to a different
Policy except when done so by Content Platform Engine.
This restriction includes implicit reassignments that occur through Policy
Selectors or Policy Transition Specifications.
