Index partitions

You can potentially increase indexing performance by removing index partitions.

Important: The removal of index partitions can cause decreased content-based retrieval (CBR) query performance. For more information, see Query optimization: Index partitions.
Index partitions tend to decrease indexing performance because more full-text indexes exist as the result of the partitioning, which has the following consequences: The result is more frequent disk activity to commit the index data.
