IBM®
FileNet® Collaboration Services enables
you to directly store and access content in FileNet P8 by using client applications
such as IBM Connections and IBM
Lotus®
Quickr®.
An organization with FileNet Collaboration
Services middleware
can connect the object store with office software that is designed
to manage data and documents as business information. The office software
can be IBM Connections, IBM
Lotus
Quickr 8.5 for Lotus
Domino®, IBM
Lotus
Quickr 8.5 for WebSphere® Portal, or Lotus
Quickr Connectors. The software makes
the storage and retrieval of data and documents in the object store
more manageable.
As a result, users can easily share business information. For example,
members of the same team can perform the following actions:
- Search, store, and share documents in the object store by using
web-based collaboration applications.
- Tag, comment on, and recommend FileNet P8 documents in IBM Connections to share information
of common interest.
- Link to documents that are stored in FileNet P8, permitting team members
to collaborate on that content from IBM Connections communities, Lotus
Quickr places, IBM
Lotus
Notes® email, or IBM
Sametime®, or post copied links
in other media.
- Use the Lotus
Quickr Connectors desktop
integration to store, browse, and retrieve documents directly from
applications, such as Microsoft Office, Windows Explorer, IBM
Lotus
Notes, IBM
Lotus Symphony, and IBM
Sametime.
- Incorporate existing repository content to a Lotus
Quickr team place.
- Archive or publish, by copying or moving, documents from an Lotus
Quickr place to FileNet P8.
- Search Lotus
Quickr and
the content repository from a Lotus
Quickr user
interface.
