IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Legacy Component Manager general properties

Use the General tab to specify the connection information for legacy Component Manager.

The General tab includes these fields:

Name Description
Content Engine URI Specifies the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) that identifies a Content Platform Engine server in the FileNet® P8 domain.
Connection point Specifies the connection point to be used to access component queue information on the Content Platform Engine server.
Service username Specifies a user name for connecting to the Content Platform Engine server in order to access the connection point.

If multiple legacy Component Managers will access the same queues, use a different service user name for each legacy Component Manager.

To unlock locked work items in Component Manager queues, the service username account must be a member of the Process Engine Administrator group. Also, for Component Manager to be able to unlock the locked work items in the Component Manager queues at startup or during a restart, the JAAS credential account must be the account that originally locked the work items in the Component Manager queues.

Tip: Process Task Manager displays the components to which the user has read access. For Process Task Manager to display all existing components, the service user must have Query access to all component queues.
Service password The password that is associated with the user specified in Service username.
Queues Specifies the queues that this legacy Component Manager polls for new events. By default, legacy Component Manager polls all component queues in the isolated region that is specified by the Connection Point. Enter "*" to specify all queues. To restrict processing to specific queues, enter the queue names that are separated by a comma and no spaces. Click Show Queue Names for a list of queue names.
Note: Process Task Manager appends the queue names, or "ALL" for all queues, to the name of the legacy Component Manager.
