Properties that are deleted from an IBM®
FileNet® Image Services document
class are not deleted from Content Platform Engine.
Symptoms
When you delete a property from an IBM
FileNet Image Services document class, but
you do not update the mapping on Content Platform Engine, documents that
originate on Content Platform Engine can be federated to IBM
FileNet Image Services, but the deleted property does not federate.
Diagnosing the problem
Consider the following scenario:
- On Content Platform Engine, use Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to map a document class and property to an IBM
FileNet Image Services document class. You can create and federate documents to IBM
FileNet Image Services.
- On IBM
FileNet Image Services, use the
Database Maintenance application in Xapex to delete a property from
the mapped document class. The property deletes from the document
class without error.
- Now Content Platform Engine can create a document to this document class
with data in this property. The document federates correctly to IBM
FileNet Image Services, but no property values federate. There is no entry that is left
in the replication queue, no Content Platform Engine log error for the
document ID, and no entry in the IBM
FileNet Image Services elog file.

Resolving the problem
No data is lost and no harm is done. However, because the
document class is on IBM
FileNet Image Services and
the mapping is on Content Platform Engine,
it is especially important to update the mapping when you delete a
mapped property from a document class.
