To prepare your system for sweeping, ensure that a REVISION_DATE property is
defined.
About this task
The content federation exporter uses the REVISION_DATE property to perform sweeping. For some
repositories, the REVISION_DATE property is predefined. If it is not already defined, edit the data
map to identify a property in the data map as the REVISION_DATE property.
Procedure
To prepare your system for sweeping:
- Synchronize the clocks of all servers, such as the IBM®
FileNet® CFS for Content Integrator server, source repository server, and database server.
- Open the IBM Content Integrator Administration tool.
- Choose an existing data map from the Configuration Data tree or create a new data map.
- From the property list, select the date property that you want to use. Verify that the property
you select is updated to the current date by the source repository whenever the associated item is
updated. In addition, verify that this property can be queried and is selectable.
Important: Content federation uses the date property that you select to determine when a
source document is modified. The system can then exclude from federation any documents that were not
updated after the last time the rule was run. If you select the wrong date property, IBM
FileNet CFS for Content Integrator might not be able to detect updates and might inadvertently
exclude documents that were updated but whose revision date property was not updated.
- Click Property Description to open the Property
Description window.
- Set the Data Type field to DATETIME.
- Set the Extended Data Type field to
REVISION_DATE.
- If you add an element to the property map, complete the rest of the fields in the
Property Description window.
- Save your settings.
- Restart the IBM Content Integrator VeniceBridgeServices
process.
- Restart the content federation exporter.
