You can configure a FileNet® P8 system
to use Image Services as a
fixed content device.
An
Image Services fixed
content device can be used in two ways:
- To store content ingested into an object store. In this configuration, Content Federation Services for Image Services is not used.
- To access content ingested into Image Services. In this
configuration, the content is made available to FileNet P8 users
through content federation. For more information about using Image Services with federation, see Content Federation Services for Image Services configuration.
When you store content ingested into an object store on
Image Services:
- Documents are added through Content Platform Engine only.
- Metadata is stored in the Content Platform Engine catalog only, not in Image Services.
- Document content is stored on Image Services.
- Only FileNet P8 applications
can be used to access the content.
Use the New Fixed Content Device wizard to provide the configuration
parameters for accessing the Image Services server.
For more information, see Creating a fixed content device object.
