When you change the FNRE_Admin user
password, you must also update the IBM®
FileNet® Rendition Engine components to use the
new password. If the IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine components
are not updated, the server stops publishing.
Symptoms
IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine stops publishing and
generates the following errors after you change the
FNRE_Admin user
password:
Error 1069: The service did not start due to a logon failure.
Error 5: Access is denied.
Causes
You
changed the FNRE_Admin user password and did not
update the IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine components
to reflect the password change.
Resolving the problem
To reset the
IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine components to use the
updated password, complete the following steps for each
IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine server in your publishing
domain.
- Configure the BusinessServiceServer Windows Service to start up using the password
for the FNRE_Admin user
- Log on to your IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine server
as FNRE_Admin user.
- On the IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine server,
select .
- Right-click BusinessServiceServer and select Properties.
- On the Log On tab, verify that the FNRE_Admin
user is specified, then enter and confirm the new password.
Important: If you restart the server after this step, the BusinessServiceServer
service issues the following error: Error 5: Access is denied.
- Reset the user password for the publishing components.
- Start Domain Manager. You receive the following expected message: Unable
to successfully access a repository in this domain. Some functionality
will not be available.
- Click OK.
- Click .
- In the Show Rendering window, verify that Hide
rendering applications is selected and that the FNRE_Admin user
is specified.
- Enter and confirm the new password and click OK.
Domain Manager displays the following expected error: Unable
to show/hide rendering.
- Click OK.
- Complete this step if you render AutoCAD files.
- In the Show Rendering window, select Show
rendering applications.
- Click OK.
- Restart the server.
