Configuring a Microsoft SQL Server login for Rendition Engine

The Rendition Engine installation program creates the Microsoft SQL Server database. You must create a Microsoft SQL Login for the Rendition Engine database user and assign the Database Creators server role to the Microsoft SQL Login.

To configure a Microsoft SQL Server login for Rendition Engine:

  1. On the Microsoft SQL Server database computer, use Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager to create a Microsoft SQL Login for the re_db_user (SQL_login) user.
    • Enter a name for the re_db_user (SQL_login) user.
    • Enter a password for the new SQL user.
    • Verify that the default database for the login is "master".
  2. Record these values as you work through the configuration:
    • Server name
    • Instance
    • Port number
  3. Grant the Database Creators server role to the SQL Server login that you created in the previous step:
  4. Use the SQL Server Analyzer to verify that you can log on to the SQL Server database by using this user name and password.
