Before you publish a DITA document, you must create a publish
style template for PDF output.
Before you begin
Determine the folders that you will
use for your source and published documents and for your publish templates.
You can store all the documents in the same folder, or you can create
folders for each purpose. For example, you might create the following
folders:
- Publish Templates
- Source Documents
- Published Documents
Procedure
To create a PDF publish template:
- Open Publishing Designer:
- In the Workplace navigation
pane, click .
- If you are asked if you want to run this application,
click Run or Don't Block.
- Create the PDF style template:
- In Object Store to host publish operation
using this template, select the object store to be used
for publishing.
- Select the folder where you want the published PDF document
to be stored.
- In the optional settings, select Use a Style
Template to transform the content and select the Default
PDF Style Template template.
- Click Add New to start the Add
a new template wizard.
- Select the folder where you want to store the publish
template. Click Next.
- Optionally enter a title and description and complete
the wizard.
- Exit Publishing Designer.
