IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Mapping properties

You can create or modify property mappings between Image Services external repositories and Content Platform Engine properties for the selected document class mapping.

About this task

Mapped properties must be equivalent. For example, no type conversion is provided between numeric and string properties. In a pair of mapped properties, both must be numeric or both must be string properties. The only exception is the date type, which can be mapped to a date or string property.

If you add, remove, or edit class property mappings on a Windows server, you must restart the IBM® FileNet® Content Federation Services for Image Services service before the changes take effect. To restart the service, open the Windows Services tool, such as by clicking Start > Programs > Administration Tools > Services. Right-click the FileNet P8 CFS Server for Image Services service and select Start or Restart.

For inbound properties, you can update the property only by using FileNet Image Services. You cannot update inbound properties from the Content Platform Engine.

For outbound properties, you can update the property only by using Content Platform Engine. You cannot update outbound properties from FileNet Image Services.

Procedure

To add a property mapping:

  1. In the domain navigation pane of the Content Platform Engine administration console, open the Object Stores folder and select the object store.
  2. In the details pane, click the Replication Class Mappings tab.
  3. Click the name of a class in the Content Platform Engine Class column.
  4. On the Replication Property Mappings tab, click New
  5. In the New Replication Property Mapping window, select a property from the External class list and a property from the Content Platform Engine class list.
  6. Select a Direction for the property mapping.
  7. Click OK.
