Federation completes with an error that the current document is reserved.
Symptoms
The Federation Administration Rule Management tab reports that
federation completed with import errors. The error listing includes the following error:
CFS0105: Current P8 document is reserved.
Causes
A new version of an existing source document was created in the source repository after
the last time the document was federated; however, in the interim, the target document was checked
out from the target repository and is in the reservation state. The reserved document is preventing
the content federation importer from creating a new version in the target object store to reflect
the new version that was created in the source repository.
Resolving the problem
In
Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, navigate to the federated document in
the target repository and cancel the check-out. Retry the rule from the
Rule
Management tab of the Federation Administration application. The unique identifier of
the checked-out document can be determined by using the Federation Administration application to
navigate to the error listing for the failed rule and examining the detail record for the error. The
first line contains the unique identifier for the checked out document, as shown in the bracketed
section of the following example:
Current mapped P8 document has been reserved, request removed from queue:

Tip: To prevent future occurrences of this error, make sure that the default access rights for
federated documents are configured to prevent non-administrator users from creating new
versions.
