Errors and failures can result when a document is not exported correctly from the source repository to the Federator database or when a document is not imported correctly from the Federator database into Content Platform Engine.
Documents that generate errors are automatically tried again. If the error persists, the document federation process is repeated up to a specified maximum number of times. You can selectively process individual errors without starting a full federation. You also have the option of deleting errors or converting them into failures.
A document processing failure is never tried again. However, you can change a document processing state from a failed status to an error status to cause the document to be processed in the next federation cycle. You can also delete failures.
Error processing from the Rule Listing section retries all export or import errors for all selected errors. A partial federation is performed that excludes the query phase of processing. This option is available only if the rule is in the Federated or Aborted state, enabled, and if there is at least one export or import error.
