Index area backup

Each index area is associated with an object store. The index areas change frequently, whenever changes are made to the content of search-enabled documents.

A document can be reindexed at any time, which means that you do not have to back up your full-text indexes. Instead, you can rebuild the indexes by reindexing your documents after you restore the storage areas that contain the document content. But reindexing can take a long time when you have many documents, and so you might choose to back up your indexes. To keep the indexes synchronized with your documents, you must back up the index areas and the relevant storage areas at the same time.
