Utilities used for starting and stopping FileNet P8 components

The FileNet® P8 components use a variety of utilities during startup and shutdown. The most common utilities are described, along with instructions on how to run them.

Windows Services console

Many of the procedures for Windows-based components use the Windows Services console. You access this console from the Windows Start menu by selecting Programs > Administrative Tools > Services. To start or stop a service, select the service and click Start or Stop on the toolbar.

Process Task Manager

You use Process Task Manager to manage workflow-related components. The following table summarizes how to start Process Task Manager, depending on the component and platform.

FileNet P8 component

Windows

UNIX

Application Engine or Workplace XT

Run the routercmd.bat command file, found in the Router subdirectory where you installed the Application Engine or Workplace XT software.

Run the routercmd.sh command file, found in the Router subdirectory where you installed the Application Engine or Workplace XT software.

Process Simulator

Select Process Task Manager from the FileNet P8 Platform > Process Simulator group in the Start menu.

Not applicable.

Rules Listener

Run the RunTaskman.bat command file, found in the folder where you installed the Rules Listener software.

Run the RunTaskman.sh command file, found in the directory where you installed the Rules Listener software.
