IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Deleting federated documents

When a version of a document that was federated from a Content Services repository is deleted from a Content Platform Engine object store, a spiVersionErase request is automatically sent to the source repository to delete the corresponding source version.

The spiVersionErase request causes the source document version to be marked as offline (non-reclaimable) and the associated content to be deleted. All custom version properties are set to a null value. However, the record for the version remains in the Version table of the Content Services Property Manager database. The Content Services administrator can completely remove all the information that is associated with the source document by manually deleting the document. However, care must be taken to avoid deleting documents that still have federated versions that were not deleted in Content Platform Engine.
