Configuring IDM web cache directory settings for CBR

To enable federation of more than 100,000 documents and then index them with Content-Based Retrieval (CBR), you must modify the IDM web cache settings.

About this task

If the IDM web cache settings are not modified, Content Platform Engine eventually stops retrieving content and indexing, and the following error appears in the Content Platform Engine trace logs:

CBR - ERROR Updating indexing request after
failure. Object store: DaphneStore, targetId:
{586947C6-7035-493A-A6AF-A34128B4B1EA}, elem seq#: 0, operation:
Create, indexationId: {AB2BD3C5-66DC-437A-BA1C-BC929DD70BAB},
objectId: {28304095-22C7-43DB-B576-228357C509D2}, note: File not
found: unspecified error during access attempt

The IDM web cache directory has a maximum size of only 100,000 documents. When the cache size limit is reached, it ages the document and removes it from the cache. To resolve this problem, perform the following procedure. By default, the IDM cache directory is in the C:\FileNet\IDM\Cache directory.

Procedure

To configure the IDM web cache directory

  1. On the IDM web server, click Start > Programs > FileNet IDM > Configure.
  2. Select the library and click Additional Preferences.
  3. Expand Directories and Files > Local Caching> .
  4. Set the Maximum Cache Size property to a value that is equal to or greater than the largest document in your source repository. For example, if the largest document in the source repository is 20 MB, then set this value to be 20 MB or more.
  5. Increase the Maximum Cached Documents property value to 100 KB.
  6. Apply the changes and restart the IDM web server.
