Numeric data type limitations

FileNet® Image Services numeric fields can hold numbers with more digits than Content Platform Engine fields of data type integer or float. Mappings between FileNet Image Services numeric fields and Content Platform Engine integer or float fields require special consideration.

If a FileNet Image Services numeric field is mapped to a Content Platform Engine field of type float, and an FileNet Image Services user enters a number on a specific document that is larger than the Content Platform Engine float field can hold, the document is federated, but with a loss of precision in this property.

To prevent this situation, store your numeric data in a string index on FileNet Image Services when you deal with large numbers or numbers with high precision. The data can then be mapped to a string property on Content Platform Engine, thus ensuring the numeric data is federated correctly.
