Planning for search and retrieval (content-based retrieval)

Content Platform Engine supports full-text indexing of document content and property values for use in searching, also known as content based retrieval (CBR).

With content based retrieval, you can search an object store for objects that contain specific words or phrases that are embedded in document content or embedded in string properties of objects that are configured for full-text indexing. If the object store and target document class are configured for full-text indexing, the content and metadata properties are indexed as the documents are federated.

For best results, first set up your basic FileNet P8 environment and then build the data maps and federation rules to populate the FileNet P8 environment with your federated data.
