Migrating component queues in a Test Environment

Migrate component queues that were created with a legacy Component Manager in a test environment to the current version of Component Manager.

Before you start this procedure, you must first complete the procedure in Migrating component queues in a Developer Environment.
The following procedure describes how to migrate component queues in a test environment by using Process Configuration Console.
  1. Use Process Configuration Console to do the following tasks:
    1. Import the component queue definitions. When you perform the import, use the merge option. Update the security settings to the configuration of the test environment.
    2. Load the code module into the appropriate folder in the object store.
  2. Test your updates to ensure that the component is functioning correctly. When the new Component Manager starts, it automatically processes any work items that were currently queued up for processing by the legacy Component Manager.
  3. Complete performance and load testing to verify that the following goals are achieved:
    • The component adapter is tuned correctly.
    • The overall throughput on the Content Platform Engine is not adversely affected by the new component adapter.
In the production environment, follow the same steps as when you moved the component definition to the test environment.
