IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Mapping document classes

You must map document classes if the documents originate on the FileNet® Image Services system. You do not have to map document classes if the documents originate on Content Platform Engine.

About this task

You can map a FileNet Image Services class to only one Content Platform Engine class that is marked Inbound only or Both. Any other Content Platform Engine classes in the same object store that are mapped to that FileNet Image Services class must be marked Outbound only.

In many cases, there are existing FileNet Image Services document classes that must be mapped to newly created Content Platform Engine document classes.

Tip: To delete properties from a mapped document class, use the Database Maintenance application on the FileNet Image Services system.

Procedure

To create class mappings between FileNet Image Services and Content Platform Engine document classes:

  1. In the domain navigation pane of the Content Platform Engine administration console, open the Object Stores folder and select the object store.
  2. In the details pane, click the Replication Class Mappings tab and click New.
  3. In the New Replication Class Mapping window, select the External repository to use.
  4. Select an External Class and a Content Platform Engine Class from the lists.
  5. Select a Replication direction.
  6. Click OK.
