Image Services Resource Adaptor is a Java™ EE connector to the IBM®
FileNet® Image Services libraries. By using Image Services Resource Adapter, Workplace users can view FileNet Image Services documents and their associated
annotations in the FileNet Image
Viewer and, if they have the appropriate permissions, update the annotations.
About this task
To enable Workplace users
to view documents by using Image Services Resource Adapter:
Procedure
- Install Application Engine.
- Install FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter.
For
information on installing, configuring and deploying FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter, See the Image Services Resource Adapter documentation in the FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter installation package.
Tip: Use the Sample Application shipped with FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter to confirm that the Image Services Resource Adapter installation was successful.
Important: In an Image Services Resource Adapter upgrade
situation, take care to use the same library name (JNDI connection
factory name) that has been previously set in the Image Services Resource Adapter installation. Changing
this variable can cause conflicts when accessing documents.
- Install the Application Engine Image Services Resource Adapter Servlet and take the
following into account:
- Install and deploy Image Services Resource Adapter before
installing and deploying the Image Services Resource Adapter Servlet.
- Deploy the Image Services Resource Adapter Servlet
on the same application server as FileNet Image Services Resource Adapter.
- It is not necessary to install the Image Services Resource Adapter Servlet on the Application Engine server. See Image Services Resource Adapter SSL support for details that might affect your collocation
plans.
- Configure Workplace Site
Preferences.
