Verify that you can federate documents from your external repository into Content Platform Engine.
Procedure
To verify the content federation system:
- Create one or more documents in your external repository.
- Make sure that Content Platform Engine, the content federation importer,
the IBM® Content Integrator VeniceBridgeservices process, and the RMI proxy
servers are running, and then start the content federation exporter on the IBM Content Integrator server.
- Open a browser and log on to the Federation Administration application by using the IBM Content Integrator Administrator credentials. The default location web address is http://host_name:port
number/FedAdmin.
- On the Rule Builder page, create a rule and click
Apply to save it.
- On the Rule Management tab, click Apply to start the exporter. The exporter processes the rule that you created.
- Refresh the Rule Management page to view the updated rule status. If the
rule status changes to Federated and there are no errors, the documents were
successfully federated. If there were any errors, correct the errors before you continue.
- Use a client application such as IBM Content Navigator to view the document
properties and content. For a sampling of the federated documents,
do the following actions:
- In the system properties, verify that the MIME Type property of the federated document has the
correct value. For example, the MIME type for text documents is text/plain.
- Open the federated document to view its content and
verify that the content is correct.
- In highly available environments, verify correct behavior on failover:
- Use the application server administration tool to verify that the Federator Administration
application is running.
- Open a web browser and type in the URL for the Federator Administration application.
- Verify that the sign-in page displays, and log in with the IBM Content Integrator Administrator credentials.
- Fail one of the nodes.
- Verify that you can reload the sign-in page and log in as the same user.
