To upgrade your content federation system, you must run the IBM®
FileNet® Content Federation Services for Content
Integrator installation program and deploy the new Federation
Administration application.
Before you begin
Before you start the upgrade,
shut down the
content federation system:
- Stop the Content Federation Services exporter.
- Stop the VeniceBridgeServices script on the IBM Content Integrator server.
- Stop all instances of the Remote Method Invocation (RMI) proxy server (sometimes called an RMI
bridge) on all host servers.
Procedure
To upgrade your content federation system:
- Undeploy the existing Federation Administration web application. In the administration console of your application server, delete the Federation Administration
applications.
- Back up your existing content federation configuration files:
- The Content Integrator
config.xml file
- The Content Integrator
sso.xml file
- All RMI proxy server scripts, including the bin/config.bat file
- Upgrade Content Integrator to v8.6.0.2.
- Upgrade Content Integrator connectors to
v8.6.0.2.
- Run the IBM
FileNet CFS for Content Integrator installation
program. The installation program detects and copies the configuration values that were set in the
existing installation.
Important: If you modified the CFS_Installed
folder\FedExporter\conf\federator.properties file, the changes are not
preserved after the upgrade. You can manually update the file after you upgrade, or you can copy the
federator.properties file from the backup folder that is created in the
installation directory during the upgrade.
- Deploy the new Federation Administration application.
- Verify the upgrade.
