Federation completes with an error that the document does not exist.
Symptoms
The Federation Administration Rule Management tab reports that
federation completed with import errors. The error listing includes the following error:
CFS0107: Current P8 document does not exist.
Causes
This error is returned in the following situations:
- In the target object store that is referenced by your federation rule, there is no fixed storage
area that is associated with the fixed content device for your source repository.
- The version series in the target repository is no longer synchronized with the source repository
because the current version of the document in the target object store was deleted. When a document
version is deleted from the target repository, the associated version is also deleted from the
source repository. However, if there is an import request in process that was created before the
deletion occurred but was not yet completed, it is possible for a queued request to refer to a
version that was already deleted. Such occurrences are rare but can happen on a system under load
when deletion of federated documents is occurring simultaneously while federation is also in
progress and there are many unprocessed import requests in the import queue.
Resolving the problem
Create a fixed storage area in the target object store that references the fixed content
device that you are using to point to your source repository and retry the rule. You can create a
fixed storage area by using the New Storage Area wizard in the
Content Platform Engine administration console. For more information about creating a
fixed storage area, see
Creating a fixed storage area.
