You can use IBM® WebSphere® Business Monitor to monitor active BPM processes, as well as processes on a WebSphere Process Server. BPM software includes a common base event adapter, a basic BPM Monitor Model, and some basic dashboard views that you configure and deploy to the WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Business Monitor server.
The illustration shows the main components of the integration.
Use the following general steps to integrate FileNet® P8 BPM with WebSphere Business Monitor
BPM software includes a basic monitor model and associated event definitions. Import the monitor model into the WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) to configure additional metrics (including user-defined fields), data mart, key performance indicators (KPIs), and alert events.
Deploy the monitor model to the WebSphere Business Monitor Server, so the WebSphere Business Monitor is ready to monitor FileNet P8 BPM workflow events.
Use the Dashboard to view the analytical results. The BPM software includes a sample dashboard that you can customize, or you can create your own.
The help topics address the integration of BPM with the WebSphere Business Monitor; they do not provide an in-depth discussion of the WebSphere Business Monitor software. The installation of the WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) and WebSphere Business Monitor are prerequisites for the integration. For more information, see the WebSphere Business Monitor and WebSphere Integration Developer documentation.
