When you recover a file storage area, you can recover both
the file storage area and its associated object store data.
Procedure
To recover an object store and a file storage area:
- Stop the Content Platform Engine application
on all servers.
Attention: Failure to stop
the application server software can result in corrupted data in the
recovered object store.
- Recover the file storage area. For a fixed storage area,
you must also recover the fixed content device.
Important: Because the location of the file storage
area is stored in the global configuration database, you must recover
a file storage area to the same location from which it was backed
up. To move a file storage area to a new location, see
Moving a file storage area.
- If the file storage area is configured for full-text search,
recover the corresponding index areas.
Tip: Alternatively,
you can reindex the file storage area after the recovery is
complete.
- Recover the object store data.
- Clear the content cache that is associated with the object
store by manually deleting the contents of the content cache folder.
- Start the Content Platform Engine application
on all servers.
