Scenarios are based on one or more workflow definitions.
You can import workflow definitions in .pep format or .xpdl format
from a local drive, an object store, or IBM®
FileNet® Process Engine.
To import a workflow definition for simulation:
From the Simulation Designer Tools menu, select Import Workflow.
Select the location where the workflow definition is stored,
then find and select the file.
If you import an XPDL
file that contains multiple workflow definitions, all of the workflow
definitions are imported. Simulation Designer validates each workflow
during the import process. If errors are detected, you must fix them
in Process Designer before the import can be successful. Click the Details button in the error message dialog box to display
the Workflow Validation Results dialog containing
information about each error.
Note: You cannot import a workflow
definition with the same name as one that exists in the scenario.
This situation can occur because you can import workflow definitions
from several locations. If you have two workflow definitions with
the same name but they are not related, use Process Designer to change
the name of one of the workflow definitions before you import it.
The workflow name is the name on the Workflow
Properties > General tab, not the name of the file.
To update a workflow definition
with a newer version, see Replace Workflow. If you want to reflect changes in the base
workflow, you also must replace the workflow. See the IBM FileNet P8 Process Engine User Guide for additional information.
