FileNet P8 Rendition Engine, Version 5.2            Operating systems:  Windows

Installing Rendition Engine silently

You can install the Rendition Engine software silently by entering installation values into an input response file and running the installation program from a command line. After you install the Rendition Engine software, you must complete additional tasks such as setting temporary folder permissions, creating a Java™ repository, and setting the Purge and Archive intervals.

Be sure that you have the Installation and Upgrade Worksheet that was completed during your planning activities.

To install Rendition Engine silently:

  1. Open your completed Installation and Upgrade Worksheet file.
Tip: Tip: In the worksheet file, verify that the Data > ->Filter > ->AutoFilter command is enabled. To view only Rendition Engine values, filter by RE Installer in the Installation or Configuration Program column.
  2. Log on to the host computer as FNRE_Admin.
  3. Navigate to the Rendition Engine software package in the installation media.
  4. Edit the re_silent_install.txt file to reflect the installation choices in your worksheet.
  5. At a command prompt, run the command 5.2.0-P8RE-WIN.EXE -i silent -f re_silent_install.txt. re_install_path is the location where Rendition Engine is installed.
  6. Review the re_install_path/re_install_log_5.2.0.txt file for installation errors. The log files are available at USER_INSTALL_DIR\re_install_log_<version>.txt and C:\Temp\LiquentServicesInstall.log
  7. High availabilityFor high availability configuration, repeat this procedure for every server that you want to install.
    Attention:
You must use a different server name and port for each additional server. If you use the same server name and port as a previously installed server, the new server installation overwrites the existing server.

Complete the additional Rendition Engine installation tasks.
