Determining the location of the index areas

Before you can back up the index areas, you must determine the location of the files that must be backed up.

Procedure

To determine the location of the files that must be backed up:

For each index area that is associated with the object store, access the index area properties.
  1. In the domain navigation pane of the administration console, click the object store.
  2. In the object store navigation pane, select the Administrative > Index Areas folder.
  3. In the General tab for each index area, note the location that is specified by the root directory. An index area can be on a local file system as opposed to a network-shared drive.
  4. On the Index tab, note the indexes that exist for the index area.
  5. From the location that is specified by the root directory path, back up all the directories that correspond to the list of indexes.
