Links between a workflow definition and documents or document classes are specific to the workflow definition version. If an author checks in a new version of an existing workflow definition, use the new version by creating new links between the document classes or documents and the new version of the workflow definition.
Although the example below shows links between a document class and a workflow definition only, the concept is the same for links between a document and a workflow definition.
Add new link:
To enable users to launch the new version of the workflow definition from any document in the document class, add a new link from the document class to that new version. If you want to allow users to launch the previous version of the workflow definition as well, retain the existing link to that version, as shown in the diagram.
To use a new version of the workflow definition, create a link to any document class or individual document.
Add new link:
To enable users to launch the new version of the workflow, add a link from the workflow definition to the document class or specific document. Retain the existing link to the previous version of the workflow definition if you want to allow the users to launch both versions. In the diagram, the dotted line represents a deleted link between the previous version of the workflow definition and the document class.
