Installing content federation interactively

You can run the IBM® FileNet® CFS for Content Integrator installation program interactively.

Procedure

To install IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator interactively:

  1. Log on to the IBM Content Integrator server.
    UNIX
    Log on as a user with write access to /bin and read, write, and execute access to the directory where you plan to install IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator.
    Windows
    Log on as a user in the local Administrators group, or a user with equivalent permissions.
  2. Run the appropriate installation program:

    HPUXi 5.2.1-CFS-HPUXI.bin
    Linux 5.2.1-CFS-LINUX.bin
    Solaris 5.2.1-CFS-SOL.bin
    Windows 5.2.1-CFS-WIN.EXE
    Linux for System z 5.2.1-CFS-ZLINUX.bin

    For information about parameter values, see the installation and upgrade worksheet.

    Important: When you enter Federator database information, make sure to use the same database information that you used in Creating the Federator database and user account.
    Tip: With the Data > Filter > AutoFilter command enabled, as it is by default in the worksheet file (p8_worksheet.xls), click the AutoFilter drop-down arrow in the Installation or Configuration Program column header and select CFS Installer. The worksheet shows only the installation properties that you must specify for the IBM FileNet CFS for Content Integrator installation program.
  3. When installation is complete, check the federator_install_log_5.2.1.txt file in the cfs_install_path directory. Correct any errors that occurred during the installation.
