The Properties pane displays the properties
for the selected object—the selected step, route, text annotation,
or association.
To display the properties for an object, click the object in the
map area or click the tabs to display the menu containing a list of
steps, routes, and so forth.
When you create a step or route, you specify all of the properties
for that item on the appropriate tab pages. The type of step or route
determines the tabs and options available.
- To define workflow properties such as data fields, attachments,
milestones or other properties, select the Workflow Properties tab
in the Properties pane. To specify options
appropriate for a step, such as the step destination (a participant
or work queue), what parameters are required, any assigned milestones,
deadline, routing, and other options on the appropriate tabs, select
the step then select the Workflow Properties tab
in the Properties pane.
- To specify possible routing conditions, depending on the participant
response, field values, or other conditions, click the Routes tab.
See Route Properties.
- To create a text annotation, click the Annotation icon
in the toolbar and drag it onto the map. To enter text and to change
the color of the annotation, click the annotation and select the Workflow
Properties tab in the Properties pane.
To associate the annotation with a particular step or route, point
to the edge of the annotation box and drag an association line to
the target step or route.
If the selected step or route is on an inherited map, the values
displayed on the Properties pane are read-only.
