As part of your Rendition Engine upgrade, you must create a Rendition Engine database. You can use the same name or use a new name for the database or table space.
When you upgrade, you cannot use an existing IBM® FileNet® Rendition Engine database. You must identify a new Microsoft SQL Server database or Oracle table space for use by the 5.2.0 version of Rendition Engine. You cannot use existing databases or table spaces after the upgrade.
Delete the old database or table space before you run the installation program and create one with the same name and administrative user as part of the upgrade procedure. For information, see Uninstalling previous versions of Rendition Engine or for Oracle, see Creating an Oracle database for Rendition Engine.
If you use a new name for your database or table space, you must reconfigure your Content Platform Engine connection as part of the upgrade. See Configuring Rendition Engine connections on Content Platform Engine
