Disabling audit logging

Optionally disable event logging at a particular level, such as at the object store level (the highest level).

Procedure

Configure the appropriate level:
Level Instructions
Object store

To disable event logging for an object store:

  1. Access the object store properties in the administration console.
  2. On the General tab, clear the Enable auditing check box to disable auditing for the object store.
Class

To disable event logging for a class, disable or delete the audit definitions for the class.

Important: Deleting or disabling class audit definitions affects the logging of events that occurs at the class property level: if no audit definitions for an event are enabled, no logging occurs for the event regardless of the class property configuration.
Class property

To disable event logging for a class property, clear the Audit As value on the property definition on the class.

Important: Do not attempt to stop auditing for a custom object property by removing the user-defined property definition from the audited class. Doing so removes the values for the property from the existing audit entries in the audit log.
