Before you install either supporting software or Rendition Engine on your server, verify
that the hardware and software requirements for the software are met.
Then copy the installation software to your local server.
To prepare for an IBM®
FileNet® Rendition Engine server installation:
- Ensure minimum required disk space and temporary space
for installation. See System requirements: Hardware and
software requirements for IBM
FileNet P8.
- Set the Regional Option for the Microsoft Office locale.
If
you set the Regional Option to non-US/English for your operating system
before you install Microsoft Office,
bookmark extraction will not work properly when rendering a document.
Make any changes to non-US/English Regional Option settings after
you install Microsoft Office.
- Copy the installation software to the Rendition Engine server.
Access
the Rendition Engine installation
package and copy the content to a temporary location on the Rendition Engine server. For example, create
the following directory and copy the installation files into it: C:\temp\RE_installation_software.
- Verify the contents of the installation package.
The
IBM
FileNet Rendition Engine installation package
contains the following folders:
- Installer (folder)
- Contains the 5.2.0-P8RE-WIN.EXE file used
to install Rendition Engine.
- Resources (folder)
- Contains the Oracle-repository.sql script
and the IBMFileNetRenditionEngineLicense.xml file,
which is used during the installation.
