Security considerations for modifying the workflow configuration

To modify a workflow configuration, you must have the appropriate access rights, and you must be able to access Process Configuration Console or an equivalent custom application.

Access to modify the workflow configuration

To modify a workflow configuration, you can use a client application such as Process Configuration Console or an equivalent custom application that uses the related APIs. Access to this functionality is controlled by the following groups:
  • Workflow system administration group (workflow_system_admin_group)
  • Workflow system configuration group (workflow_system_config_group

If any of these groups exist, you must be a member of at least one of these groups.

Important: If the workflow system configuration group does not exist, access-role membership controls whether you can modify the workflow configuration. For more information, see Workflow security and Access roles for using Process applications (Workplace and Workplace XT).

Access to Process Configuration Console

Your client interface determines the logon requirements.
