When you have defined all the options in your scenario,
click Start Simulation on the Simulation Designer
toolbar to start the simulation.
Note: Running the simulation from
Simulation Designer generates a file with the simulation data. This
data can be viewed by using Simulation Animator, which can be started
only from Simulation Console.
Before the simulation runs,
Simulation Designer prompts you to save the scenario and to specify
a folder, name, and other options for saving the simulation data.
- Scenario:
- Select an object store and folder in which to save the scenario,
then enter a name.
- Optionally specify security options for the file.
- Simulation:
- Select an object store and folder in which to save the simulation.
- Enter a name for the simulation; a description is optional.
- Specify whether to generate data to publish to the Case Analyzer.
- Enter the simulation life span.
If the simulation data are
generated error-free, the simulation file remains available in your
object store until you delete it. The Simulation Life Span setting
is used only when an error occurs in generating the simulation data.
In an error situation, the simulation file is removed at the end of
the specified life span, or on exiting the Simulation Designer.
Tip: Each time simulation data are generated from a scenario,
a new simulation file is created in your object store. This file does
not overwrite a previous simulation file of the same name. Saved simulation
files can occupy a significant amount of disk space, so you should
delete obsolete simulation files on a regular basis.
- Modify the security setting for the simulation file, if wanted.
- Open Simulation Console to view the simulation data by using Simulation
Animator.
You can also start the simulation from Simulation Console.
