Validating the workflow definition

The Validation Results dialog displays any errors that are detected during validation of an imported workflow definition. You must fix all problems in the workflow definition before you can run a simulation. One common problem involves queues that are used in the workflow definition that are not defined in the current isolated region. You can fix this problem by defining the missing queues.

To view validation results:

  1. Workflow definitions are validated automatically under the following conditions:
    • When you import a workflow into the scenario definition.
    • When you select Validate to check the scenario definition for errors. You can disable this validation of the workflow definition on the Preferences dialog box.

If errors are detected in the workflow definition, the Workflow Validation Results dialog displays.

  2. In the Name box, select an item (usually a step or route) to display a description of the error.
  3. View the information in the Message and Information boxes to determine the cause of the problem.
  4. Use Process Designer or the administration console to resolve any problems and then try to import the workflow definition again.
