Installing the Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit

Start of changeYou must install the Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK) in the default installation location on each Content Platform Engine server that is used for content federation. Content Platform Engine uses ODWEK to access the Content Manager OnDemand repositories.End of change

About this task

After you install ODWEK, you must configure the application server to support ODWEK.

Tip: This example shows you how to configure ODWEK by using WebSphere® Application Server on Windows servers. However, both ODWEK and IBM® FileNet® Content Manager support various operating systems and application servers.
If you use a different application server and operating system, verify that:
  • The appropriate application server startup script is modified to include the full path of the ODWEK installation folder to the operating system PATH and LIBPATH (or the equivalent for your operating system) environment variables.
  • Add the CLASSPATH to include the ODApi.jar file.

Procedure

To install and configure ODWEK on the Content Platform Engine server:

  1. Install the OnDemand Web Enablement Kit. in the default installation location.
  2. Log in to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.
  3. Go to Application Server > server1 > Process Definition > Java Virtual Machine
  4. Enter the full path of the ODApi.jar file in the Java™ class path field. Typically, the ODApi.jar file is in following location:
    Option Description
    UNIX: /usr/lpp/ars/www/api/ODApi.jar
    Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\OnDemand Web Enablement Kit\api\ODApi.jar
  5. Save to the master configuration.
  6. Restart WebSphere Application Server.
  7. Add the full path of the ODWEK installation folder to the operating system PATH environment variables.
Important: If you use ODWEK 8.5.x, add the following paths to the operating system PATH environment variable.
    Windows

ODWEK_HOME\lib32 or ODWEK_HOME\lib64, depending on your JVM.

    For example, specify PATH=C:\Program Files\IBM\OnDemand Web Eablement Kit;C:\Program Files\IBM\OnDemand Web Eablement Kit\lib32

    UNIX

ODWEK_HOME\lib or ODWEK_HOME\lib64, depending on your JVM.
