If you want to reorganize your production environment,
you might need to move your isolated regions.
About this task
You might need to move existing isolated regions into
the same database as the related Content Platform Engine object stores, because
this collocation is required for the current version of Content Platform Engine support of IBM® Case Manager. Moving isolated regions
might also help you to better organize the data by moving one or more
isolated regions from one database into either another database or
databases, or into different schemas within the same or a new database.
The
following scenarios are supported when you move isolated regions:
- For IBM Case Manager 5.0
or 5.1 systems not in compliance with the common database or schema
requirement, you must move any Process Engine isolated regions into
the associated Content Engine object stores before you upgrade.
- Moving a single isolated region from one workflow system to a
new workflow system database and schema. Both the source and destination
database must be the same type and version.
Restriction: You cannot move a single isolated region
from the database and schema of one workflow system to an existing
workflow system database and schema that already contains an isolated region.
The moving of multiple isolated regions to a new database and schema
must be done in the same operation in one run.
A tool is
provided on the Content Platform Engine installation media to help
you move isolated regions. For information about using the tool, see techdoc 7036552.
Before you move isolated
regions, ensure that all of the following are true:
- The tool must be able to connect to the source and destination
database instances by using JDBC.
- The workflow system installation is at the appropriate release
level, either IBM Business Process Manager 5.0,IBM Business Process Manager 5.1, or Content Platform Engine 5.2.
- The source and destination workflow systems must be stopped during
this procedure. Ensure that no server software is accessing the database
at the time of the move.
