Preventing client-side security cache timeout

The Authentication cache timeout parameter value specifies how often security-related caches are refreshed (in minutes). When the defined amount of time has passed, the security-related cache is refreshed and any new requests for information result in a database lookup.

The default value is 600. Increasing this value to 3600 provides a modest improvement in server response times. If a security cache refresh is not required every 600 seconds, consider increasing the cache timeout value.

For instructions about adjusting the Authentication cache timeout parameter value, select the link that is associated with the installed version of WebSphere® Application Server.
