Disabling WebSphere Application Server service logs to improve FileNet P8 response time and CPU utilization

Service logs are messages that are written to the System.out stream. Service logs contain extended service information that is normally not of interest, but can be important when analyzing problems.

On occasion, service logs can cause excessive disk I/O processing even when WebSphere® Application Server is operating as expected. If the excessive disk I/O processing affects other applications that are collocated with the application server, consider the following actions:

Instead of selecting the Enable check box to enable the service logs, remove the check from the Enable check box to disable the service logs.
