To perform the Windows installation, you must be
logged in with sufficient privileges.
- For a complete list of prerequite software, see IBM® System Dashboard for Enterprise
Content Management 5.0 Detailed System
Requirements.
- Dashboard 5.0 and later uses InstallAnywhere, which relies on the presence of a suitable Java™ virtual machine (JVM) on the target system to support the
installation process.
- JavaVirtual Machine (JVM) version 7 is required for use of
IPv6 between the Listener and Collector.
- The JAVA_HOME and PATH environment variables must be set correctly for your Java virtual machine. For more information about how to set these environment
variables, see your JVM documentation.
- For silent installations only, locate the Windows\sd_silent_install_win.txt
file in the Dashboard installation directory. The options file contains
the standard responses to the installation program prompts. Copy the
file to a temporary directory on your server. You can rename it to
something shorter, like opt.txt. Use your preferred
text editor to make any appropriate changes and save the file. The
options and their default values are fully described in the file.
- Locate 5.0.0.2-P8SD-WIN.exe in the
Dashboard folder.
For a graphical installation, double-click
the file to start the installation program.
For a silent installation
(no screen output), enter the following command at a command prompt.
Add the –silent and –options flags
to the command:
5.0.0.2-P8SD-WIN.exe -f drive:\Dashboard\Windows\sd_silent_install_win.txt,
where drive is the appropriate drive letter.
If
you copied and modified the options.txt file,
here is an example of the command:
5.0.0.2-P8SD-WIN.exe
-f drive:\tmp\opt.txt, where drive:\tmp\opt.txt is
the location of the file you copied and modified.
Specify
the full path to the options.txt file. During
a silent installation, the prompts in the steps that follow in this
procedure are not displayed.
