Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server is not found during creation of a JDBC data source

Creation of a JDBC data source fails during configuration of Content Platform Engine.

Symptoms

The Configure GCD JDBC Data Sources task of Configuration Manager fails with the following error message:

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException DSRA8000E: No jar or zip files found in /sqljdbc.jar.

The error occurs when you are running Configuration Manager to configure and deploy a new or upgraded installation of Content Platform Engine on IBM® WebSphere® Application Server and your database server is Microsoft SQL Server.

Causes

The error occurs if you did not specify the WebSphere environment variable for SQL Server during configuration of WebSphere for Content Platform Engine.

Resolving the problem

Complete the following steps:

  1. Exit from Configuration Manager.

  2. Complete the steps in the applicable topic in the following table:

    Upgrading Content Platform Engine Configuring the application server for Content Engine (upgrades from 4.0.1 or later)
  3. Start Configuration Manager and complete the Configure GCD JDBC Data Sources task.
