Importing saved searches from Enterprise Manager

In the administration console, you can import the saved searches that you created with Enterprise Manager in previous versions of Content Platform Engine. These saved search files have an .sch extension.

Before you begin

If you are importing the saved search from a different object store, the locale of the source object store and the destination object store must match. In the administration console, the object store locale is indicated by the Locale Name property on the object store Properties tab.

About this task

After you import a saved search, you can run it in the same way as other queries in the administration console.

Restriction: The administration console does not treat a saved search as a template. That is, when you run a query, you are not prompted for new search criteria values. Instead, you change the previously saved values by editing the query on the Simple View or SQL View tabs.

Procedure

To import a saved search:

  1. Start the new document wizard in the administration console:
    1. In the domain navigation pane, click the object store.
    2. In the object store navigation pane, if the Browse > Root Folder > Saved Searches folder does not exist, click the Search node. The Saved Searches folder is created.
    3. Right-click the Browse > Root Folder > Saved Searches folder and click New Document.
  2. On the Define New Document Objects step in the new document wizard, select the With content check box.
  3. On the Document Content Source step, click Add to add the saved search file as a content element.
  4. Enter .sch into the Document MIME Type field.
