Query optimization: Allocate heap memory for concurrent queries

Search servers create temporary in-memory objects for a query to facilitate the running of that query. To optimize CBR query performance for queries that are run concurrently, allocate sufficient heap memory for the in-memory objects.

Tip: These temporary in-memory objects are distinct from the more permanent objects that are known as searchables. For information about searchables, see Query optimization: Allocate heap memory and increase the timeout interval for searchables.
For a search server, review the following items:
Item Guideline Parameter
Heap

If you run more than 40 – 50 queries concurrently, set the heap memory size to be 4 – 6 GB.

Configuration tool parameters. Set the value of the maxHeapSize parameter.
