Viewing or updating a half map

After you extract the data of an object store, security principal, service, or connection point in a source or destination environment, you can view or update the new half map.

To view a half map for a source or destination environment:

  1. In the FileNet® Deployment Manager tree view pane, expand the Environments node. Then, expand the environment definition that contains the half map that you want to view or update.
  2. Double-click one of the following half maps: Object Store Data, Security Principal Data, Service Data, or Connection Point Data.
    Option Description
    View a half map

Each row in a source or destination half map contains the information for that half map type (object store, security principal, or service). Each type of half map contains columns that are specific to that half map type, except for the Label column, which is initially the first column in every half map.

You can update the appearance of a half map as follows:
    1. Sort the data in a column: Click a column header to sort the data in its column. For storage areas and storage policies, you are sorting within an object store. Each time the column heading is clicked, the properties are sorted in ascending or descending order.
    2. Drag-and-drop a column to a new location: You can move any column in a half map to a new location. This operation is useful if your half map has several columns and the columns that you want to view are far apart. Click the column header of the column you want to move and, while you hold down the mouse button, drag the column to a new location.

Any changes that you make to the appearance of a half map are not saved; if you close and then reopen a half map, the column, and row order in the half map reverts to the default appearance.

    Update a half map
You can update the information of a half map as follows:
    1. Edit a label field: Although each half map contains columns that are specific to that half map type, all half map types contain a Label column, which provides an editable label field for each row. The only half map that can be edited, other than the labels is the services half map. You can use this label field to match entries in another half map during data mapping. For more information, see Edit labels in a half map.
    2. Edit a non-label field: For service half maps only, all fields are editable. For more information, see Edit a service half map.
    3. To save your changes, select Save from the File menu.
