IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Tuning IBM FileNet P8 Application Engine

You can tune IBM® FileNet® P8 Application Engine (Workplace) to improve performance.

Caching workflow applet JAR files on the client

Workflow applets, such as Process Designer, require all applet JAR files to be cached on the client workstation, which can consume as much as 35 MB of disk space. Java™ cache settings on the client workstation might cause these applets to be purged, causing the applet download process to reinitiate, and slowing client response times. By tuning your client-side Java cache settings, you can minimize performance degradation and the number of times these applets are downloaded.

Note: Some applets, such as Process Tracker and Process Administrator, are known to experience problems if insufficient Java memory is available on the client.

Tuning Image Viewer

For information about tuning Image Viewer, see the ViewOne performance optimization white paper, which can be downloaded from the Daeja Image Systems website at: http://www.daeja.com/white/white.asp?id=5&c=1.
