Configuring request forwarding

Request forwarding reduces network traffic and increases overall system performance by forwarding object store requests to a site that is geographically close to the object store that must return the results of the request. The data requests (often thousands of trips to the database) are handled locally across the high-speed LAN and then returned to the remote site only once across the slow-speed WAN.

About this task

A site can be enabled or disabled to both forward requests to another site and to receive forwarded requests. Each setting is independent of the other.
