IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2.1

Improving the rate of document retrievals by using remote caching

If your IBM® FileNet® Image Services server is in a separate physical location from the Content Platform Engine server, you can improve the performance of document retrievals by creating an IBM FileNet Image Services cache on a server in the same site as the Content Platform Engine server or on the Content Platform Engine server itself.

To create a IBM FileNet Image Services cache on the Content Platform Engine server, install the Content Platform Engine software. Then, on the same server, install FileNet Image Services software. Configure IBM FileNet Image Services as an application server with cache services to the remote FileNet Image Services system.

Important: When you install the FileNet Image Services software on the Content Platform Engine server, configure the application server in the same NCH domain as the main FileNet Image Services root or index server. Although the Content Platform Engine software and the FileNet Image Services software can be hosted on the same server, they are configured in two different domain types: the FileNet Image Services domain and the application server domain.
