Terminating work items

You can terminate work items. A terminated work item is routed to the Terminate map and eventually terminated in accordance with the logic of that map.

About this task

Start of changeChild work items are an exception: the processing of a child work item is ended but the child item is not sent to the Terminate map. The parent work item is notified not to wait for the child work item. For information about child work items, see the "Special case for AND-split" section in Routing concepts.End of change

When the Terminate map runs, all active, suspended, or disabled timers for the work item are ended.

Procedure

To terminate a work item:

  1. Retrieving work items. Retrieve work items in accordance with the following search parameters:
    Search result type Work Items
    Workflow structure Workflow roster
    Search mode Editable
    Tip: For information about retrieving obsolete tracker work items, see Obsolete tracker work items.
  2. On the Search Results tab, select one or more work items.
  3. Click Actions > Tasks > Terminate Work.
  4. In the confirmation window, click OK.
