The final development step is to run the application or
applet to verify that it is working correctly. Do this step after
you deploy and register your application or applet and, for Processors,
add it to a workflow definition.
To run a Java™ application or applet, do the
following actions:
- Find a work item for the modified workflow definition. For more
information, see Retrieving work items.
- For the found work item, retrieve the work object number (F_WobNum).
- Run the sample Java Step Processor
application by entering a command similar to the following example:
javaw -classpath .;sample.jar;C:\your_directory\pe.jar;
C:\your_directory\wcm.jar;C:\your_directory\pw.jar;
%CLASSPATH% package_name.VWSampleStepApplication/hostName=host_name
/routerNames=local_router/routerPort=portNum /webApp=WEB_APP_NAME
/queueName=queue_name /wobNumber=object_number
In the example, the following items have the indicated
meaning:
- The sample.jar is the application/applet Java Archive (JAR) file.
- The package_name is the package (directory structure in which
the sample files reside).
- The VWSampleStepApplication is the application name (in this case,
the sample Java Step Processor).
- The host_name is the name of the Application Engine or Content Platform Engine host.
- The local_router is the connection point name and portNum is
the port number assigned.
- The WEB_APP_NAME is the FileNet® web application (see
the Note that follows this list).
- The queue_name is the name of the workflow queue that is
being accessed.
- The object_number is the Work Object number (wobNumber)
you retrieved in the preceding step.
Note: WEB_APP_NAME can
be one of the following values:
- For FileNet Workplace
applications/applets: WORKPLACE
- For FileNet Web Services
applications/applets: WEB_WORKFLO
- For FileNet Open Client
applications/applets: OPEN_CLIENT
- For a web application other than FileNet: CUSTOM or NONE
An example of a command statement to run a Java Step Processor for FileNet Workplace is as
follows:
javaw -classpath .;C:\Developer Files\samples\vwpanel\sample.jar;
C:\your_directory\pe.jar;C:\your_directory\wcm.jar;
C:\your_directory\pw.jar;
%CLASSPATH% samples\vwpanel\samplestep\VWSampleStepApplication
/hostName=myhost
/routerNames=vwrouter
/routerPorts=32771
/webApp=WORKPLACE
/queueName=InBox
/wobNumber=B8D270F79636E1489BA9EC2DD9F7E950
