Running index jobs

An index job represents one or more index requests for Content Platform Engine objects. To index or reindex an object means to create, update, or delete the index information for the object based on the current CBR text configuration. For example, index information for an object is deleted if the object no longer belongs to a CBR-enabled class.

About this task

The number of index jobs that run concurrently is equal to the number of Content Platform Engine servers. For example, if your domain contains three servers, a maximum of three index jobs can have a status of IN PROGRESS. (All other index jobs that are slated to run have a status of PENDING.) An index job that is interrupted by a reboot of the Content Platform Engine server resumes automatically after the reboot.
