Check workflow name

The name of the workflow must be unique in the isolated region. When you are naming a new workflow definition, you should check the name against the names of existing workflow definitions that have been transferred to the workflow database.

To check the workflow name

  1. If Workflow Properties is not open, click the Action menu, then select Workflow Properties.
  2. On the General tab, enter a name for the workflow.

The name of a workflow definition must conform to the following rules:

    • Begin with an alphabetic character. Can contain letters, digits, underscores, or spaces.
    • Maximum length 249 characters.
    • Not use F_ or two tilde (~~) characters as the first two characters.
    • Be unique among workflow definitions in an isolated region.
  3. Click the Check Workflow Name icon on the upper-right side of the Workflow Name title bar.
  4. In Check Workflow Name, select whether to use the current name or enter a different name.
    • If the name you entered is available, choose Use this workflow name.
    • If the name you entered is already in use, do one of the following:
      • Choose Use this workflow name to overwrite the existing workflow definition when you transfer the new workflow definition to the workflow database.
      • Choose Use another workflow name, then enter or select the name to use.
