Custom objects

A custom object is a general-purpose object that is used to track physical items, such as magnetic tapes and disks. You can customize custom objects by adding properties and assigning subclasses to the objects.

Custom objects share some similarities with document objects, where they can be filed and unfiled in folders. You can also annotate, copy, delete and rename, and change the class of custom objects. However, custom objects are different from documents in that they cannot be versioned and they do not have content.
