In defining the participant's privileges for accessing data fields, attachments, and workflow groups within a step, Read, Write, and Read and Write have the following meanings:
UI element | User privileges |
---|---|
Data Fields | Read: The field name and current value will display in the step processor, allowing the participant to view, but not change, the value. Write: The field name will display in the step processor, but the value will be blank. The participant can enter a value. Read/Write: The field name and current value will display in the step processor, and the participant can change the value. |
Attachments | Note that the participant's security privileges on the object
store or library determines whether the participant can open, check
out, or check in the document referenced by the attachment. Read: The attachment name and the name of the assigned target (for example, a document or URL) will display in the step processor, allowing the participant to access the target. The participant cannot assign a different target to the attachment. Write: The attachment name will display in the step processor, but even if a target is assigned to the attachment, the name of the target will not display. The participant can optionally assign a different target. Read/Write: The attachment name and the name of the assigned target will display in the step processor, allowing the participant to access the target. The participant can optionally assign a different target to the attachment. |
Workflow groups | Read: The workflow group name and the currently assigned users will display in the step processor, allowing the participant to view, but not change the members of the group. Write: The workflow group name will display in the step processor, but the currently assigned users will not display. The participant can assign other users to the workflow group. Read/Write: The workflow group name and the currently assigned users will display in the step processor, and the participant can change which users are assigned to the workflow group. |
