Control the use of an index area by setting resource statuses.
You can also configure Content Platform Engine to
automatically activate index areas and to enforce index area capacity
limits.
Resource status automatic transitions
A Content Platform Engine server
automatically changes the resource status for an index area or full-text
index in some circumstances.
Resource statuses and object index entry assignment
When an object is indexed or reindexed, the index entry
for the object is assigned to a full-text index within an index area.
The assigned index area always belongs to the same object store as
the object.
Setting resource statuses: Index areas
Set the resource status for an index area to control the
types of changes that can be made to index information in the area.
Setting index area capacity
You set the capacity of an index area by defining limits
for index entries. These limits govern the total size or total number
of entries.
Prioritizing index areas for automatic activation
Set the activation priority for each index area to control
the order of activation. Content Platform Engine activates
the index area with the highest activation priority among those index
areas with a STANDBY status. This index area is randomly
selected if the highest priority is shared by more than one index
area.
