Validation results

The Validation Results dialog box displays any errors detected when you choose Validate Workflow from the Action menu (the current workflow definition) or Validate Workflow Collection from the File menu (all workflow definition in the workflow collection that are specified for validation). It also displays when validation occurs automatically as part of transferring the workflow definition or workflow collection to the workflow system server. You must fix all problems before you can successfully transfer the workflow definition or workflow collection to workflow system.

To view validation results for the current workflow definition or the workflow collection

  1. Do one of the following:
    • For the current workflow definition, click Action > Validate Workflow
    • For the workflow collection, click File > Validate Workflow Collection.
  2. In the Validation Results dialog box, if errors are detected, in the Name box, select an item (usually a step or route) to display a description of the error.
  3. Click Go to to display the appropriate dialog box where you can correct the problem.

Use the information in the Message and Information boxes to correct the problem.

  4. When you have finished correcting the problems, click Revalidate to recheck the workflow definition for errors.

If you have access rights that allow you to use the Configuration option in Process Designer, you can create queues, rosters, and event logs with access granted to specific users. For example, only UserA can use a certain queue or roster. If you use this queue for a step destination or you specify the roster for this workflow definition, you will get a validation error because you do not have rights to this queue or roster.
