After you define the service half maps for the source and
destination environments, you can combine them to create a service
data map.
Create a service data map for a source-destination pair:
- In the FileNet® Deployment Manager tree
view pane, expand the Source-Destination Pairs node and double-click
the source-destination pair.
- Click the Map Data Service Map button
to create a service data map.
FileNet Deployment Manager maps the service data
in the source environment to the corresponding service data in the
destination environment and updates the service data map (DataMap_Service.xml)
to reflect these mappings.
FileNet Deployment Manager matches the entries that
are based on the following information:
- Services are mapped according to type, so that you can have any
number of types of services. For example, all services of type "PESystemAdministration_F_WebServer"
in the source half map are mapped to services of type "PESystemAdministration_F_WebServer"
in the destination half map.
- Source services that are labeled are mapped to destination services
that have the same labels and are of the same type. If no destination
services with matching labels exist, the mapping is done by name.
- Any source services that cannot be mapped to a destination service
are added to the data map as unmapped services.
- If FileNet Deployment Manager cannot
map the data, perform one of the following steps if you want to resolve
the unmapped entries:
- Modify the service data in the source and destination environments
to eliminate any inconsistencies and then re-create the half maps
and the data map.
- Edit the service data map to resolve any inconsistencies or
issues in the service half maps. For more information, see the "Update
a data map" section of the View or update a data map
help topic.
- Edit the service half maps directly to resolve any inconsistencies
or other issues, then re-create the service data map. For more information,
see the Edit a service half
map help topic.
