Configure the Excel Reports component for Case Analyzer to provide the
information necessary to generate and store the reports.
To configure the Excel Reports component for Case Analyzer:
- Log in with the ca_client_database_user ID
and password.
- Start the Case Analyzer Configuration
Tool at the following path: C:\Program
Files (x86)\IBM\FileNet\CaseFoundation\Case
Analyzer components\Excel Reports\modifyxls.exe
Tip: This path is the default installation
path for IBM® Case Foundation. Use
a different path as needed to locate the modifyxls.exe file.
- Enter the name of the Case Analyzer Analysis
Server where the Case Analyzer OLAP database is
located. Depending on whether the Content Platform Engine
has a local or remote OLAP database, use one of the following choices:
- The server where the Content Platform Engine
software is installed.
- The remote OLAP database server that is used by the Content Platform Engine.
Important: In
highly available environments, use the virtual
IP or name of the
SQL Server Analysis
Services server.
- Select the Database Version for Case Analyzer Analysis
Services:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012
- Enter the Database Name for Case Analyzer Analysis
Services or the OLAP database name.
- Enter the Analysis Services Instance Name.
Tip: This field requires a value only
when installing on SQL Server with
a non-default Analysis Service. If you are
installing on SQL Server with
the default instance, you can leave the field
empty.
- Verify that the folder where you store your reports is listed in the Root Report
Folder field. By default, the field contains the location where installation installed the out-of-the-box
reports. If your reports are stored in another folder, enter the path to that folder. For more
information, see Selecting an alternate storage location for Excel Reports.
- Click Configure. The Case Analyzer Client Configuration Tool configures the
preconfigured sample reports. It configures the data connection in all Excel spreadsheets in all
folders one level below the indicated folder.
Tip: After report configuration, you can
view the sample reports or create new reports.

- Select to close the Case Analyzer Client
Configuration Tool.
