Process Simulator simulates workflows by performing "what-if" scenarios,
providing business analysts with important information that helps
streamline business processes. Process Simulator applications are
tools for developing, running, and managing simulations of workflows.
- Use Simulation Designer to define scenarios to simulate running
workflows over a period of time. To create a scenario, you import
one or more workflow definitions created with Process Designer, then
specify how frequently the workflow runs, how much time each step
requires, resources, work hours, and costs. When you run the scenario,
output is captured as an animation that can be run repeatedly. Simulation
data can be exported to the Case Analyzer for additional study.
- Use Simulation Console to manage scenarios and simulations, and
to view a simulation in Simulation Animator.
- Use Simulation Animator to view a workflow simulation graphically
as the work progresses from one step to another. Simulation Animator
also displays statistics collected during the simulation.
