Obtaining a root certificate from the certificate authority website

If the SSL certificate at the destination server was issued by a certificate authority, then you can obtain a root client certificate directly from the website of this certificate authority. Use this method for devices that are outside your corporate network, such as an Atmos fixed content device.

About this task

If the service provider that hosts this service updates the certificate on their systems, the configured Content Platform Engine connection still works as long as the root certificate is the same.

Root certificates for the major certificate authorities are already present in the Java™ virtual machines that are used by the various application servers that Content Platform Engine supports. If the device uses a certificate from one of these certificate authorities, you might not need to configure any additional settings.
