IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Installing and configuring SAP Crystal Server 2011

Verify that you completed all prerequisites for configuring IBM® Enterprise Records Crystal Reports.

About this task

Important: You must have the supported versions of SAP Crystal Server 2011 (Named License required) and SAP Crystal Reports 2011 installed. See the IBM FileNet P8 system requirements and the IBM Enterprise Records detailed system requirements page for details.

Procedure

To verify prerequisites for IBM Enterprise Records Crystal Server:

  1. Verify that you copied all relevant configuration files to the SAP Crystal Server 2011 as part of the topic about copying installation files.
  2. Verify that you synchronized the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine JAR files on the server that hosts the Crystal Server software as part of the topic about installing client files.
  3. (Crystal Server is not collocated with Content Engine or Content Platform Engine) Verify that the client components of the application server exist on the server that hosts the Crystal Server software.
IBM FileNet® P8 Platform supports various application servers. The server that hosts your installed version of Crystal Server must have the same application server, or its client files, installed as Content Engine or Content Platform Engine.
Restriction: If the application server used is WebSphere® Application Server, you must install WebSphere Application Server or Application Client for WebSphere Application Server on the server that hosts the Crystal Server.
Table 1. Actions required if Crystal Server is not collocated with Content Engine Content Engine or Content Platform Engine.
    Application server Action
WebSphere Application Server Install WebSphere Application Server or Application Client for WebSphere Application Server on the server that hosts the Crystal Server software. The Application Client is typically included on the same installation media as the WebSphere Application Server software.

For example, on Windows: Copy the Jace.jar and log4j.jar files from CE_install_path/FileNet/ContentEngine/lib on the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server. C:/CE_jars is only an example of a path on the server that hosts the Crystal Server.

    Oracle WebLogic Server

(Content Engine or Content Platform Engine runs on Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.x) If the version of Oracle WebLogic Server differs between the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server and the Crystal Server, copy wlclient.jar from the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server. C:/CE_jars is only an example of a path on the Crystal Server.

For example, on Windows: Copy the wlclient.jar file from ../server/lib where the Oracle WebLogic Server server is installed on the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server. C:/CE_jars is only an example of a path on the Crystal Server.

Copy the Jace.jar and log4j.jar files from CE_install_path/FileNet/ContentEngine/lib on the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server. C:/CE_jars is only an example of a path on the Crystal Server.

    JBoss Application Server

(Content Engine or Content Platform Engine runs on JBoss Application Server 4.0.5) If the version of JBoss Application Server differs between the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server and the Crystal Server, copy the jbossall-client.jar from the Content Engine serve or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server.

For example, on Windows: Copy the Jace.jar and log4j.jar files from CE_install_path/FileNet/ContentEngine/lib on the Content Engine server or the Content Platform Engine server to C:/CE_jars on the Crystal Server. C:/CE_jars is only an example of a path on the Crystal Server.

JBoss Application Server 5.x only (if the client does not already have JBoss 5.x installed): Copy the JBoss 5.x client directory from the server that is running the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine software and JBoss 5.x locally to a folder on the Crystal Server. For example, copy the CE_JBoss5.1_HOME/client directory to the C:/CE_jars folder on the Crystal Server.

  4. Verify that you set the Report application server path in the Application Engine or Workplace XT site preferences as described in the site preferences topic.
  5. Turn on auditing for the following reports:
    • Records Viewed by User/Group within Specific Period Report
    • Actions Performed by User Report
