(WebSphere Application Server 7 and 8) Disabling Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for RMI/IIOP

Follow these instructions to disable Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for RMI/IIOP if you use WebSphere® Application Server 7 and 8.

Procedure

To turn off SSL for RMI/IIOP:

  1. On the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server, open the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.
  2. Go to Security > Global security > RMI/IIOP security > CSIv2 inbound communications.
  3. Change Client certificate authentication from Supported to Never.
  4. Change Transport from SSL-supported to TCP/IP.
  5. Go to Security > Global security > RMI/IIOP security > CSIv2 outbound communications.
  6. Change Client certificate authentication from Supported to Never.
  7. Change Transport from SSL-supported to TCP/IP.
  8. Save the changes and restart the WebSphere Application Server.
