IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Running the IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager by using the command line

You can configure IBM® Enterprise Records by using the command-line version of Configuration Manager.

About this task

You need to generate the configuration XML files that match your application server settings with respect to application server type and profile type. Edit the XML files to provide values for your environment. Then, apply the settings by running the tasks from a command prompt.

You must generate, edit, and run a complete set of configuration XML to configure an IBM Enterprise Records application. If you are deploying multiple IBM Enterprise Records application instances on the same application server, generate, edit, and deploy a complete set of configuration files for each instance. Store the configuration files for each instance in a separate directory.

In all of the profiles where you use the -profile myprofile parameter, the myprofile value can be an absolute or relative path as in one of the following items:
  • The name of the profile, such as WSWebApplicationDeploymentProfile. The profile is generated in the ier_install_path/configure/profiles directory, where ier_install_path is the location where the IBM Enterprise Records software is installed.
  • The absolute path to the profile directory, such as "C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\WSWebApplicationDeploymentProfile" or opt/IBM/EnterpriseRecords/configure/profiles/WSWebApplicationDeploymentProfile.
Remember: If the path includes a directory name with spaces, enclose the entire path in quotation marks. For example, enter "C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\WSWebApplicationDeploymentProfile".

You can complete the configuration tasks by generating all the configuration XML files before editing, running, or verifying any of them.
