The generateConfig command generates
the configuration XML file for the specified configuration profile.
The command name is not case-sensitive.
generateConfig command syntax
The
following syntax includes line breaks to format the command for reading.
Enter the command and options on a single line, without any line breaks.
configmgr_cl.exe generateConfig -appserver app_server_type
-profiletype profile_type
-profile path_myprofile_directory [-deploymenttype
ier_websphere_deployment] [-aextdeploymenttype
-aext_websphere-deployment] [-silent] [-help] [-debug]
generateConfig command parameters
- -appserver app_server_type
- The -appserver app_server_type parameter
specifies the type of application server and this parameter must be
either websphere, weblogic,
or jboss (jboss only for the webapplication_deployment
profile). This parameter applies only to the webapplication_deployment
profile type. In other profile types, this parameter is ignored.
- -profiletype profile_type_profile
- The -profiletype profile_type_profile parameter
specifies the profile to use. The profile_type_profile value
must be one of the following items:
- webapplication_deployment: The IBM® Enterprise
Records web application profile.
- objectstore_configuration: The object store
configuration for new installation profile.
- objectstore_upgrade: The object store configuration
for upgrade profile.
- -profile path_myprofile_directory
- The -profile path_myprofile_directory parameter
specifies the directory path to the profile being created. You can
specify either a full path such as C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\WASWebApplicationDeploymentFile or
a relative path to ier_install_path/configure/profiles such
as WASWebApplicationDeploymentFile. If the path
includes spaces, enclose the path with double quotation marks.
- -deploymenttype ier_websphere_deployment
- The -deploymenttype ier_websphere_deployment parameter
specifies the deployment type of IBM Enterprise
Records on WebSphere®. Valid values must be standard, cluster,
or network. This parameter only apples to the
webapplication_deployment profile type where –appserver is
set to websphere. In other cases, this parameter
is ignored. If this parameter is not specified, it defaults to standard.
- -aextdeploymenttype aext_websphere_deployment
- The -aextdeploymenttype aext_websphere_deployment parameter
specifies the deployment type of Application Engine or Workplace XT on WebSphere. Valid values must be standard, cluster,
or network. This parameter only apples to the
webapplication_deployment profile type where –appserver is
set to websphere. In other cases, this parameter
is ignored. If this parameter is not specified, it defaults to standard.
- -debug
- The -debug parameter enables logging for
the command.
Restriction: This parameter is not supported
on HP-UX installations.
- -silent
- The -silent parameter means that you see
no output when the command is running.
- -help
- The -help parameter displays the command
help.

- Generate a web application deployment on WebSphere.
- The following command generates the WSWebApplicationDeploymentFile directory
for a new web application profile for deployment on WebSphere in the C:\Program
Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\ directory:

-profiletype webapplication_deployment -profile

- Generate a web application deployment on a WebSphere cluster environment.
- The following command generates the WSWebApplicationDeploymentFile directory
for a new web application profile for deployment on a WebSphere cluster environment in the C:\Program
Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\ directory:
configmgr_cl.exe generateConfig -appserver websphere
-profiletype webapplication_deployment -deploymenttype cluster

- Generate an object store configuration for new installation profile.
- The following command generates the ObjectStoreConfigurationProfile directory
for a new object store profile in the C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\ directory:

objectstore_configuration -profile

- Generate an object store configuration for upgrade profile.
- The following command generates the ObjectStoreUpgradeProfile directory
for an upgrade object store profile in the C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure\profiles\ directory:
