Declassification Sweep updates the declassification date
on existing classified records for which the declarer did not specify
the Declassify On Date or Declassify On Event values. If a record
declarer specifies a Declassify On Date that is equivalent to the
default declassification timeframe, IBM® Enterprise
Records treats the date as the
default declassification timeframe. Declassification Sweep updates
the value.
About this task
For example, an authorized user declares a record on January
1, 2000, and specifies the Declassify On Date as January 1, 2025.
When
IBM Enterprise
Records is installed,
the Default Declassification Timeframe is 25 years. On January 1,
2008, the records manager administrator changes the Default Declassification
Timeframe to 20 years. After Declassification Sweep is run, the Declassify
On Date value of the original record is updated to January 1, 2020.
Declassification Sweep is run after the
IBM Enterprise
Records administrator changes
the default declassification timeframe. For information about the
default declassification timeframe, see the setting configuration
topic.
