Creating upgrade add-ons

The Create Upgrade Add-ons task creates IBM® Enterprise Records data model add-ons in Content Engine or Content Platform Engine for each data model and for record-enabled object stores. These add-ons are used to upgrade the object stores.

Before you begin

When you run Configuration Manager and upgrade your IBM Enterprise Records add-ons, you must have Records Administrator privileges. You must also have the permissions of the object store administrator at the time the object store was created.

Procedure

To create upgrade add-ons:

Complete the Create Upgrade Add-ons task. Specify the data model to use. The add-ons are used to upgrade prior versions of file plan and record-enabled object stores. The add-ons that are created are for the particular data model selected. The task can be run again when upgrade add-ons for other data models are needed.

Additionally, this task deploys the Enterprise Records Report Definitions add-on to the domain.

The following table is a complete list of all upgrade add-ons for all data models of the file plan object stores and the record-enabled object stores:

To check for existing add-ons:
  • If you are using FileNet® P8 V5.1 or earlier, log on to Enterprise Manager from the Application Engine server or the Workplace XT server as the GCD administrator. Select the AddOns node.
  • If you are using FileNet P8 V5.2, log on to IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine from the Application Engine, Workplace XT, or IBM Content Navigator server as the GCD administrator. Select the AddOns node.
