IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

execute command

The execute command applies the settings from a configuration XML file for the specified configuration profile or individual task. The command name is not case-sensitive.

If you run the configuration XML files for a profile created or edited in the Configuration Manager graphical user interface, verify that the XML files contain values for the required passwords. Complete this verification before you attempt to run the files.

To run the configuration XML files:

  1. Start or stop the application server.
Table 1. Required application server state
    Application server type Description
WebSphere® Application Server Start the application server if the server is not running.
JBoss Application Server Stop the application server.
Oracle WebLogic Server Start the application server if the server is not running.
  2. Run the configuration XML files all at the same time or one file at a time as shown in the following syntax.

execute command syntax

The following syntax includes line breaks to format the command for reading. Enter the command and options on a single line, without any line breaks.

configmgr_cl.exe execute -profile profile_path
[-task task_type | -taskfile
task_file_name] [-silent] [-force] [-debug] [-help]

execute command parameters

-profile profile_path
The -profile profile_path parameter specifies the full directory path to the profile being created such as
C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\configure
\profiles\WASWebApplicationDeploymentProile
or the relative path to the ..\profiles folder.
-task task_type
The -task task_type parameter indicates which task to run. You can omit the -task task_type parameter if you want to run all of the tasks or if you specify the -taskfile task_file_name parameter.
-taskfile task_file_name
The -taskfile task_file_name parameter specifies the configuration XML file to use. The task_file_name value is not case-sensitive. Task file names are reported by the listTasks command.
You use either -task or -taskfile to specify which task in this profile is run. If neither -task or -taskfile is specified, all tasks in the profile are run. You do not need to specify both -task and -taskfile. If you specify both and they do not match, the command throws an error.
-silent
The -silent parameter means that you see no output when the command is running.
-debug
The -debug parameter enables logging for the command.
Restriction: This parameter is not supported on HP-UX installations.
-help
The -help displays the command help.
