If you want to enable users to access IBM® Enterprise
Records workflows from a desktop,
you must associate an IBM FileNet® Content Manager repository that is configured to access a Process Engine connection point and configure
the workflow settings on the desktop.
Procedure
To configure IBM Enterprise
Records workflows to work with IBM Content
Navigator:
- Configure IBM FileNet Process Engine for IBM Content
Navigator. The Process Engine must
be configured before you can create the application spaces where users
can process workflows from their desktops.
- Prepare to configure IBM Enterprise
Records workflows.
- Review the planning checklist that you completed for values
that are required to complete these steps.
- Set the minimum and maximum heap size for Destroy
Disposition Sweeps. To avoid out-of-memory
errors, increase the heap size of the Application Engine Component
Manager to 1 GB.
- Open Process Task Manager.
- Under the Component Manager node,
select the appropriate Component Manager.
- Stop the Component Manager.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Append to any existing values in the JRE
Parameters field: -Xmx1024m.
- Click Apply and restart the Component
Manager.
- If you are using Application Engine or Workplace XT, complete these substeps.
- Sign in to Application Engine or Workplace XT as a user that is a member of the Process Engine Configuration Group.
You must also be assigned the PWConfiguration access role and the
Records Administrator role.
Tip: Sign in from
the Application Engine or Workplace XT server. If the Application Engine or Workplace XT browser does not support
the use of Java™ applets, you can sign in from an alternative server
- Select the Admin page (Application Engine) or (Workplace XT).
- Run the Process Configuration Console.
- Click the connection point to start it.
- If you are using the Administration Console for Content Platform
Engine, complete these substeps.
- Sign in to Administration Console for Content Platform
Engine.
- Select the .
- Run the Configure Workflow Settings from Actions.
- Click the connection point to start it.
- Import the IBM Enterprise
Records workflow configuration file.
- From the Process Configuration Console, right-click
the connection point and select Import from XML file.
- Click Browse and select the RMWorkflowConfiguration.xml file. This file
is available in the ier_install_path/Workflow/configureRMworkflow directory.
Tip: If you run Application Engine or Workplace XT from a server other than
the Application Engine server, ensure
that the RMWorkflowConfiguration.xml file is
copied onto the browser server, and select it from that location.
- Select the Merge option.
- Click Import, then click Yes to proceed with the import. The
status of the import is displayed.
- Click Details to view the details
of the import, and then click Close.
- Click Close to close the dialog
box.
- After the import completes, expand the Work
Queues node and verify that the IBM Enterprise
Records queues are listed.
- Update the adapter settings for the RM_Workflow_Util and
RM_Operations component queues.
- From the Process Configuration Console, expand the Component Queues node for the connection point you are
using.
- Right-click RM_Operations and
select Properties.
- Select the Adaptor tab.
- Under JAAS credentials, enter
the user name and password of a user who has both the Records Administrator
and Process Engine Administrator roles. If you are using
the DoD Classified data model, you must also have Top Secret clearance
as defined in the Classified Records Security Personnel marking set.
- In the Configure Content text
box, type CELogin and click OK.
- Right-click RM_Workflow_Util and
select Properties.
- Select the Adaptor tab.
- Under JAAS credentials, enter
the user name and password of a user who has both the Records Administrator
and Process Engine Administrator roles. If you are using
the DoD Classified data model, you must also have Top Secret clearance
as defined in the Classified Records Security Personnel marking set.
- In the Configure Content text
box, type CELogin (if it is not prefilled)
and click OK.
- Right-click the connection point name and select Commit Changes. The Process
Configuration Console dialog box is displayed.
- Click Continue.
- When the changes are saved, click Close.
- Set the base URL address of the IBM Enterprise
Records web application.
- From the Process Configuration Console, right-click
the connection point and select Properties.
- Select the Web Applications tab.
- Enter the URL of the IBM Enterprise
Records web application in the Server Base URL column for the row that specifies your
records management software. The format of the URL is:
http://RM_web_application_server:port#/RM_application_name. For example, http://myserver:9080/EnterpriseRecords.
- Enter the URL of the IBM Content
Navigator in the Server
Base URL column for the row that specifies your IBM Content
Navigator. The
format of the URL is: http://[navigator_url]/navigator. For example: http://myserver:9080/navigator.
- Click OK.
- Right-click the connection point name and select Commit Changes. The Process
Configuration Console dialog box is displayed.
- Click Continue.
- When the changes are saved, click Close.
- Close the Process Configuration Console and restart Component
Manager to implement the changes that you made.
Tip: When the Component Manager is restarted, a number of IBM Enterprise
Records components do not start.
Before they can be started, these components require the configuration
ofIBM Enterprise
Records JAR files.
- Configure access to workflows from an IBM FileNet Content Manager repository.
- In the IBM Content
Navigator administration tool, log in to the repository for which you want
to configure workflows.
- On the Configuration Parameters tab, select the appropriate Process Engine connection point.
- Save your changes to the repository configuration.
- Configure a desktop to display IBM FileNet P8 workflows.
- In the IBM Content
Navigator administration tool, open the desktop for which you want to configure
workflows.
- On the Repositories tab, add
an IBM FileNet Content Manager repository
that is configured to access a Process Engine connection point to the list of selected repositories.
- In the Layout section of the Appearance tab, ensure that the Work feature is in the
list of selected features and specify the default repository for the
Work feature.
- On the Workflows tab, select
the repository that is configured to access a Process Engine connection point and add
the Records Management application space to the list of Selected Application
Spaces.
- Save your changes to the desktop.
