Committing changes to work queues

You must commit any changes to work queues and verify the queues

About this task

These steps should be completed on each IBM® Enterprise Records work queue.

Procedure

To commit changes to work queues:

  1. After all the queue updates are made, right-click the connection point and select Commit Changes or click the disk icon. The Process Configuration Console dialog box displays.
  2. Click Continue and when the changes are saved, click Close.
  3. Close the Process Configuration Console and restart Component Manager to implement the changes you made.
    Tip: When the Component Manager is restarted, a number of IBM Enterprise Records components do not start. These components require the IBM Enterprise Records JAR files that are configured in the next configuring topic during an installation or in a restarting topic during an upgrade. Then the components can be started.
  4. To verify the assignment of groups to work queues, sign in to Application Engine or IBM Content Navigator as an Application Engine or IBM Content Navigator Administrator.
  5. Select the Tasks tab and click Public Inboxes to verify that only those queues for which the user has security access are displayed.
  6. Sign out and then sign in as a user with different IBM Enterprise Records privileges.
  7. Select the Tasks tab and click Public Inboxes to verify that only the queues for which the user has security access are displayed. For example:
    • Sign in as a user assigned the Records Manager role and click Public Inboxes. The RecordsManagerApproval queue is visible.
    • Sign in as a user assigned the Records User role and click Public Inboxes. The RecordsManagerApproval queue is not visible.
