Vital Record Review

The Vital Record Review workflow notifies the Reviewer of the vital entities that are due for review. The Reviewer reviews these entities and takes the appropriate action, such as declaring new records or superseding the existing ones.

Vital entities need to be periodically reviewed to ensure that the latest records are available at all times. To ensure periodic reviews of vital records, you can associate a recurring event with such records. Each time the recurring event occurs, the Vital Record Review workflow is launched.

After the Vital Record Review workflow is launched, the following component steps and step processor UIs are associated with the workflow:
Initialize
Is a component step that initializes all relevant parameters that need to be set from the Content Platform Engine. These parameters will be used throughout the workflow.
Review
Is a general step processor that requests that the Reviewer review the entities that are due for review. The request is sent as a work item to the inbox of the Reviewer. In addition to reviewing the entities, the Reviewer is also required to enter review comments. The Reviewer can also perform certain actions, such as declaring new records or superseding old records.
Approve
Is a general step processor that notifies the Records Manager of the entities that are due for review. If a Reviewer is not available for reviewing the entities, the Records Manager is notified immediately. If a Reviewer is available, the Records Manager is requested to approve the review comments entered by the Reviewer. It sends the request to the RecordsManagerApproval queue in the Public Inbox.
Update
Is a component step processor that calls the RM_Workflow_Util component queue to update the entity with information such as the vital review date, vital review event associated with the entity, review comments, reviewer name, and the last review date.
