IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Installing and configuring the Crystal Server

Install and configure Crystal Server software, and then on the Crystal Server, install the application server client software that matches the version on the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server. Follow the instructions for installing WebSphere® Application Server, WebLogic Server, or JBoss Application Server.

About this task

IBM® FileNet® P8 Platform supports various application servers. The server that hosts Crystal Server 2011 must have the same application server installed, or its client components, as the FileNet P8 Content Engine or Content Platform Engine.

Procedure

To install and configure the Crystal Server follow these general steps:

  1. Install the following products:
    • SAP Crystal Server 2011 (Named License required), then
    • SAP Crystal Reports 2011
  2. Configure the Crystal Server for IBM Enterprise Records.
    1. Run the Central Management Console (CMC) on the Crystal Servers.
    2. Select Servers from the menu and verify that all servers are running.
    3. Select Users and Groups from the menu, and select User List.
    4. Click the Guest account and select Properties.
    5. Select Named User for the Connection Type and clear the Account is Disabled check box.
Important: Use the Named User license because, otherwise, you need hundreds of concurrent licenses to view reports in IBM Enterprise Records. Each concurrent license is equivalent to one report.
    6. Click Save & Close to set the Guest user account options.
    7. Locate the IP Port number specified in the server element of the C:/Program Files (x86)/SAP BusinessObjects/SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/java/lib/clientSDKOptions.xml file. This port is used to connect the IBM Enterprise Records server and the server that hosts the Crystal Server. The default port number is 1566.
    8. In the CMC, select Servers from the menu, click the server ReportApplicationServer, and select Properties.
    9. In the Command Line Parameters field, add -ipport IP_Port_number to the end of the command line, outside of any path quotation marks. For example, add -ipport 1566 and be sure to use a normal dash in the command, not a long dash.
    10. Click Save & Close to set the IP Port number.
    11. In the CMC, select and highlight all servers in the CMC server list, select Restart Server to restart the servers. Wait until the list automatically refreshes, and then ensure that no Stale servers are shown (flag in the Stale column). If Stale servers are shown, restart those servers.
    12. Select Servers from the menu, and verify that all servers are running.
  3. Copy the contents of the folder containing the Crystal Server templates, specific to the data model you are using, from the following data-model-specific folder:

    IER Media root folder\Reports\DataModel

to the following location on the Crystal Server:

    Drive:/Program Files (x86)/SAP BusinessObjects
    /SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/Samples/en/Reports
Important: Do not copy the directory, only the contents of the directory.
