IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Customizing component steps

A component step represents an activity in a workflow that is assigned to one or more operations in a component queue. To add a new component step to an IBM® Enterprise Records workflow, you can use the methods of the RM_Operations components queue.

If you need to modify an existing component step, remember that there is a high degree of interdependency among methods called in each component step. If you delete a method from an existing step, make sure that the method is not linked with the methods of other component steps.

If you plan to create a new workflow that uses a component step, use the RM_Operations component queue. RM_Operations is a component of the RM Java™ API, and exposes a number of methods for creating new workflows. When designing your workflow definition, you can call these methods to add RM-related functionality to your workflow.

This section describes how you can select and use the methods of the RM_Operations component queue.
