IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Registering component classes

If you are using the older version 1 of the workflow component queues, use the Process Configuration Console to register multiple JAR file component classes.

About this task

To complete the class registration task, the JAR files must be accessible from your local computer during the configuration process. You can copy them to C:\Temp. For run time, the JAR files must be on the server where the Component Manager runs. You use Process Configuration Console to specify the exact location of the JAR files. To view the classes in the specified JAR files, you can copy the JAR files to the directory where Process Configuration Console expects to find them. Alternatively, you can copy the JAR files to any location on your local system and re-register the classes.

If you run the Process Configuration Console on a server other than the one where you installed the IBM® Enterprise Records web application and you change the component queues, you must first re-register the JAR files.

Procedure

To register the component classes:

  1. From the Process Configuration Console, expand the Component Queues node for the connection point you are using.
  2. Right-click Component Queues and select Register Additional Classes.
  3. In the Jar File Locations tab, locate the four workflow JAR file entries. They are file entries similar to the following list:
    C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\Workflow\configureRMworkflow
    \lib\rmworkflow.jar
    C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\Workflow\configureRMworkflow
    \lib\rmapi.jar
    C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\Workflow\configureRMworkflow
    \lib\rmapiresources.jar
    C:\Program Files\IBM\EnterpriseRecords\RecordsManager\WEB-INF
    \lib\ContentExtendedOps.jar
The file entries that are listed are likely a default file list that must be updated with the real locations of the JAR files.
  4. Remove all of the JAR file entries whose paths are not the correct path on your local system.
  5. Click Add and locate the 4 JAR files on your local system by browsing to their correct location on your local system. If you are on the IBM Enterprise Records server, the JAR files might be at ier_install_path/Workflow/configureRMworkflow/lib or ier_install_path/RecordsManager/WEB-INF/lib. Otherwise, browse to the location where you originally copied the JAR files.
  6. Click OK.
