You use the IBM® Enterprise
Records application
in a browser window. After entering the URL, supplied by your administrator,
a sign-in page displays. To use the IBM Enterprise
Records application, enter a valid
user name and password.
About this task
If the user name and password are successfully validated,
the browse page of your default file plan location displays. If you
have not set a default file plan location for your user name, the
default location is taken from the site preference. The site preference
is set by an administrator. You might also see a message that a certain
file plan cannot be found. The system selects another one for you,
if possible, and includes a link to set a default file plan.
Procedure
To set your own default file plan location:
- Select the Configure tab.
- Click Set Default File Plan.
- Select the Object store.
- Select the file plan.
Results
Your system might be configured to timeout after a period
of inactivity. If no activity occurs during this time, the system
signs you out automatically. To continue working, sign in again. If
it is shown, you can click the
Workplace link to
sign in to
Workplace or
Workplace XT without entering your
user name and password. When you are finished working in
IBM Enterprise
Records, click
Sign
Out so that system resources can immediately be made available
for other processes. If you are working in both
IBM Enterprise
Records and either
Workplace or
Workplace XT, you need to sign out
of both applications.
