IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Preparing to configure IBM Enterprise Records workflows

You must prepare the workflows by using the Process Task Manager and IBM® FileNet® P8 Component Manager.

About this task

If you are using IBM FileNet P8 V5.1, you must prepare the workflows to use an earlier version of IBM FileNet P8 Component Manager (legacy Component Manager). If you are using IBM FileNet P8 V5.2, you can configure the component queues with an earlier version of IBM FileNet P8 Component Manager or with the current version. To use an earlier version of Component Manager, prepare the workflows by using the Process Task Manager and Component Manager. If you have existing component queues that you created with an earlier version of Component Manager, you can still use those component queues. However, if you want to migrate those exisitng component queues to the current version of IBM FileNet P8 Component Manager, you must reconfigure the component queues by using IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager.

Procedure

To prepare to configure IBM Enterprise Records workflows:

  1. Verify that the Process Engine or Content Platform Engine is running.
  2. Verify that the connection point is created.
  3. If you are using IBM FileNet P8 V5.1 or earlier and are using an earlier version of the adapter, verify that Application Engine, Workplace XT, or IBM Content Navigator is running.
  4. If you are using IBM FileNet P8 V5.1 or earlier, verify the creation of the Component Manager.
    1. From the Application Engine or Workplace XT server, run the Process Task Manager by running the following command from AE_install_path/FileNet/AE/Router or WPXT_install_path/FileNet/WebClient/Router:
      AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris
      routercmd.sh
      Windows
      routercmd.bat
    2. Verify that the Component Manager, which uses the Connection Point configured for Application Engine, Workplace XT, or IBM Content Navigator and IBM Enterprise Records is created.

To find out which connection point is used by Application Engine or Workplace XT, if more than one exists, see Connection Point under General Settings > Tasks. This setting is on the Application Engine or Workplace XT Site Preferences page.
