IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Two-step Transfer workflow

Two-step Transfer exports entities to a specified destination and generates a transcript file. This file includes information about the success or failure of export for each entity and the status of each step of the workflow.

About this task

After you view the transcript file, you can select to proceed to the next phase of the workflow or reject the export phase and return the entity to the disposition cutoff phase. If you select Proceed to next phase, the entity is deleted and a workflow transcript step is generated. The transcript file generated after deletion is also attached. If you choose to reject the transfer of entities, the entity is restored back to the cutoff phase. The workflow then sends a message that includes the reason for the rejection of the transfer.

The Two-step Transfer workflow runs when you initiate disposition. The first step is approval. Approved entities move to the export transcript step where you indicate the successful export of records and give approval to delete the records.

For general information about how to complete this workflow, see the topic about using disposition workflows.

Approve Transfer step

To approve or reject the transfer of entities:

After specifying the export details and completing the workflow, data is transferred to the specified locations. A transcript file is generated and referenced in a new Transcript work item that requires a response to complete destruction after transfer.
