IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Preparing databases and indexes

Optimal performance of IBM® Enterprise Records operations depends on correct database indexing, so you must prepare your database and indexes to ensure optimal performance.

About this task

Determine whether you need extra databases or table spaces for the file plan object stores (FPOS) or the records-enabled object stores (ROS). You can determine this need by applying appropriate database indexes to the object store databases.

Procedure

To prepare your databases and indexes:

  1. Index the uxx_recordinformation column on the FPOS (file plan object stores) and ROS (record-enabled object stores) object store databases.
  2. Optional: Add databases or table spaces for the FPOS or the ROS as needed.
  3. Optional: Add indexes to be used for content-based retrieval.
