IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Creating the Object store configuration for upgrade profile

You must create a IBM® Enterprise Records Object store configuration for upgrade profile to upgrade object stores from previous versions of IBM Enterprise Records. The tasks that are associated with this profile upgrade object stores from versions 4.5.1 and later. Other versions are not supported.

About this task

You must complete the following tasks: When you run Configuration Manager and upgrade your IBM Enterprise Records add-ons, you must have Records Administrator privileges. You must also have the permissions of the object store administrator at the time the object store was created.

Procedure

To create an Object store configuration for upgrade profile:

  1. Ensure that your Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server is running.
  2. If IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager is not already running, start the IBM Enterprise Records Configuration Manager.
  3. Start the Create New Installation Profile wizard by selecting File > New Installation Profile.
  4. Complete the wizard screens by using the values in order.
    • Select the profile type, Object store upgrade profile.
    • You must complete the Create Upgrade Add-ons task before you upgrade your existing file plan.
    • You must complete the Upgrade File Plan Object Store task before you Transfer Upgraded Workflows.
    • If you upgrade a combination record-enabled object store and file plan object store, complete the Upgrade File Plan Object Stores task before you upgrade the record-enabled object store.
  5. In the Set Properties for Content Engine Connection screen, click Test Connection. This action tests the connection between Configuration Manager and the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server. If the test fails, make sure that the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server is running. Also, make sure that the Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server property values that you entered match the values that are defined in your Content Engine or Content Platform Engine server.
  6. In the Administrator user name field, if you plan to upgrade file plan object stores or to transfer upgraded workflows, enter a Records Administrator user ID. If you plan to upgrade record object stores, enter the administrator user ID of the object store. You can return to this panel to change the Administrator user before you run each task.
  7. The profile that you created displays as an icon in the profile pane along with tasks and icons.
