IBM Enterprise Records, Version 5.1.2

Configuring Crystal Reports with the traditional IBM Enterprise Records client

The reports in Crystal Reports provide a statistical view of many of the activities that are performed by IBM® Enterprise Records. For example, you can generate a report that identifies all of the electronic folders that are created during a specific time period.

About this task

Restriction: Crystal Reports is supported by only the delivered traditional IBM Enterprise Records web application. You can use the reporting engine and framework to add Crystal Reports support to the IBM Enterprise Records administration client.

Configuring Crystal Reports:

Restriction:
  • An SSL-enabled Process Engine or Content Platform Engine cannot be collocated with the Crystal Reports Application Server. Due to a conflict between the versions of the DLL nss3.dll used by the two products, you cannot collocate it with the Crystal Reports Application Server. This restriction is true if the Process Engine Content Platform Engine is configured with SSL.
  • (Windows 2003 SP 1 only) Before you install Crystal Reports, you must set Data Execution Protection (DEP) for essential Windows programs and services only. Failure to make this setting prevents services that are required by Crystal Reports from starting automatically.
On the Windows 2003 server, complete the following steps:
    1. Click My Computer, and select Properties.
    2. Select the Advanced tab.
    3. Select Performance Settings.
    4. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab.
    5. Select the Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only option.
    6. Click OK.
  • The Content Platform Engine Java™ Client connectivity module must be installed on the Crystal Reports server.
