Creating the WAR and EAR files

Anytime that you change files under the IERRest_install_path directory, you must recreate the WAR and EAR files and redeploy your changes.

About this task

When creating the EAR file, you must always create the WAR file first and then the EAR file.

Procedure

To create the WAR and EAR files:

  1. Verify that any modified files are saved.
  2. From the Command-line prompt, enter the following command:cd IERRest_install_path\deploy
  3. Create the ier-rest.war file by running the appropriate script for your platform:
    Option Description
    Windows create_ier_rest_war.bat
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris create_ier_rest_war.sh
This script generates a new ier-rest.war file in the IERRest_install_path\deploy directory.
Important: By default, this script assumes that the JAVA_HOME environment variable is set to Java-1.5, or later, run time that includes the JAR executable. If not, then either define the JAVA_HOME environment variable or edit the script file to define its internal JAVA_PATH variable. For AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris platforms, you might need to grant executable permission to the create_ier_rest_war.sh script file.
  4. Create the ier-rest.ear file by running the appropriate script for your platform:
    Option Description
    Windows create_ier_rest_ear.bat
AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris create_ier_rest_ear.sh
This script generates a new ier-rest.ear file in the IERRest_install_path\deploy directory.
Important: By default, this script assumes that the JAVA_HOME environment variable is set to Java-1.5, or later, run time that includes the JAR executable. If not, then either define the JAVA_HOME environment variable or edit the script file to define its internal JAVA_PATH variable. For AIX, HP-UX, Linux, and Solaris platforms, you might need to grant executable permission to the create_ier_rest_ear.sh script file.
