Configuring when index jobs run

Configure when index jobs run by configuring time slots. Content Engine runs index jobs only within the configured time slots if at least one time slot has been configured. A time has two main attributes: a start time and a duration. The start time is the number of minutes past midnight for a particular day of the week. A time slot is configured for a Content Engine server hierarchy level: a particular server, virtual server, site, or domain.

To add a new time slot for a server hierarchy level:

  1. Working with search configuration properties. Access the properties for the appropriate server hierarchy level.
  2. Click Add. The time slot window is displayed.
  3. Enter the time slot information.
  4. Click OK to save the entered information.
  5. Click OK in the window that contains the dispatcher properties to save the newly added time slot.
