Workplace primary views

Workplace consists of eight primary views: My Workplace, Tasks, Shortcuts, Browse, Search, My Search, Author, and Admin. These views provide tools to view, manage, and use workflows, folders, documents, forms, searches, search templates, and custom objects.

My Workplace

My Workplace provides a portal view to several Workplace views at once, and can include an external portlet, such as your corporate website. The administrator can define portal pages for access by specific groups, and end users can define their personal pages for My Workplace.

Tasks

Tasks provides access to workflows and work items that the currently logged-on user has permission to view or participate in. When a workflow is started, work items are routed to queues for processing by authorized users. A workflow definition determines where and when work items are routed. They can be routed to User queues (queues of the currently logged-on user), Public work queues (queues that are available to one or more users or groups), and Launched Workflows (workflows that the currently logged-on user has launched).

Shortcuts

Shortcuts provides a list of user-defined shortcuts for Browse views, searches, forms, and entry templates.

Browse

Browse assists users in locating objects by navigating through folders and stored searches in an object store.

Search

With Search, users can find items stored in object stores using search templates. The Search templates are created in Search Designer.

My Search

My Search provides a quick way to create a personal search to find various types of objects.

Author

Author provides access to General Tools and Advanced Tools.

Admin

Admin provides access to administrator tools.
