Create an object store wizard
Object stores hold all other objects in the Content Engine. Using Content Engine, you can create an object store
designed for a specific goal. You can then add objects designed to accomplish the goal set
for that object store.
You use the object store to organize and manage classes of content, such
as web pages, images, files, and documents. An object store can be served
by multiple Content Engines.
The object store wizard asks for:
- The object store's name
and description.
- The Java™ Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) data source name and the JNDI XA data source name for IBM® DB2®, Microsoft® SQL Server, or Oracle databases. The data source names and object store database should already exist.
- The object store's associated site, if more than one site is available during object store creation.
- The default content storage location (database, file storage, or fixed storage).
- If using a file storage area, the name of the file storage area and its shared location.
- If using a fixed storage area, the name of the fixed content device.
- The initial groups of users who will have administrative permissions to the object store.
- The initial groups of users who will have basic, non-administrative permissions to the object store.
- Additional components to install for the object store.
Optionally, you can make changes to the schema script.
