Content cache area properties (Processing tab)
The content cache area property sheet's Processing tab configures the pruning thresholds, content lifespan, and preload setting for the
content cache area.
For details on how these parameters affect content caching and to help you determine the most appropriate configuration for your server group, see the "Content cache area management" section in Content cache areas.
- Threshold Size
- Specifies the total size of content elements in the cache when mandatory pruning will begin. By default, this is set to 90% of the maximum content cache area size configured, but can be changed based on your system needs. For information on the maximum content cache area size, see Content cache area properties (Size tab).
- Threshold Elements
- Specifies the total number of content elements in the content cache area when mandatory pruning will begin. By default, this is set to 90% of the maximum number of elements configured. For information on the maximum number of elements, see Content cache area properties (Size tab).
- When a threshold is reached, prune cache by
- Specifies the percentage of elements or size to prune from the cache area when a threshold is reached. The default value is 20%.
- Preload Content when created
- Preloads content into the cache area when the content is created or checked in.
- Content Lifespan
- Specifies the maximum amount of time a content element remains in the cache without being accessed. Content Engine compares the last modified time of the content element file against the Content Lifespan and removes files older than this time during pruning of the content cache area. The default value is 14 days.
