You can upgrade the Content Engine software
silently. On UNIX application servers, you will upgrade Content Engine Server and Configuration Manager.
To upgrade Content Engine software
silently:
- Open
your completed Installation and Upgrade Worksheet file.
Tip: In the worksheet file, verify that the command is enabled. To view only Content Engine values, filter by CE
Installer in the Installation or Configuration
Program column.
- Edit the ce_silent_install.txt file
by providing the values from your worksheet.
- Run one of the following commands in the software package,
depending on your operating system:

- When the installation
completes, check for errors in the Content Engine error log file ce_install_path/ce_install_log_5_0.txt,
where ce_install_path is the location where Content Engine is installed.
- Check for errors
in the p8_server_error.log file on the application
server.
