Security markings

In addition to the examples listed above, an object can inherit a security marking or can have a security marking directly assigned to it. Security markings allow a user with a Records Manager or Records Administrator role to define the security for a record category that is then automatically set for all folders and records associated with that category.

Markings are special property values that control access to objects. Users can access an object if they meet the criteria set by the instance security and the marking value. For more information:

Marking sets that you create are applicable to the entire FileNet P8 domain. Therefore, once you create marking sets for a FileNet P8 domain, the markings are available to all object stores in that domain. For information on how to create the required marking sets, see Adding marking sets and add-ons to the IBM FileNet P8 domain.

The following marking sets are created for the FileNet P8 domain on the Content Engine server when you run the marking set script:
