Finding objects: CBR with IBM Content Search Services
Use IBM® Content Search Services to permit full-text searches for Content Engine objects.
The following applications can submit a full-text search request as part of a CBR query:
- Enterprise Manager (if searching a single object store)
- Vendor clients such as reporting tools
- Custom applications that use the Content Engine API
- Server overview
- The IBM Content Search Services servers that are registered with a FileNet P8 domain operate in one of the following modes: index mode, search mode, or dual-mode (index and search mode).

- The process of indexing object text begins with the submission of an index job and ends with a change to object index information: the index entry for the object is created or updated.
- Object searching process overview
- The process of searching for object text begins with the submission of a CBR query and ends with the return of the search results.
- Managing servers: General operation
- Create and manage servers to control the handling of index and search requests. You register an IBM Content Search Services server with Content Engine after installing the server.
- Making object text searchable
- To make text searchable, configure the inclusion or exclusion of text in indexes and reindex the appropriate classes or indexes after changing the configuration.
- Querying for object text
- Include a full-text search expression as part of a query to search for objects based on text in object content or properties. Define stop words and synonyms to help ensure that a full-text search expression returns the expected results.

- Several command-line tools permit you to configure the indexing and searching behavior of IBM® Content Search Services servers.
