View or change an index area status
An index area can be either open (accepting new indexing information), or closed, on standby, or full (not accepting new indexing information). You can view or change the index area status in Enterprise Manager.
To view the status of an index area
If necessary, expand the object store node with the desired index area. The results pane displays the configured index areas for the object store. The Area Status column displays the status of each index area.
To change the status of an index area
- If necessary, expand the object store node containing the index area..
- Right-click the index area you want to change and click Properties.
- On the General tab, select the status you want.
- Click Apply.
Each index area has the following properties:
- Index Area Name
- Displays the name of the index area when it was created.
- Description
- Displays a short, textual description of the index area.
- Area Status
- Displays the status of the index area. An index area can be created with a standby status. The server changes the status as needed to indicate that the index area is open or full.
- Template Type
- Displays the directory path of the Autonomy (also called Verity) style files that control Autonomy configuration options.
- # Collections
- Displays the actual number of Autonomy collections contained in the index area.
- Site
- Displays the domain site that the index area is associated with.
- Object Store
- Displays the object store that the index area is associated with.
- Max Collections
- Displays the maximum Autonomy collections that can belong to the index area. When this number is exceeded, the server sets the status to full and automatically opens the first standby index area for the same site and object store.
- Max Search Servers
- Displays the maximum Autonomy search servers that are associated with the index area.
- Root Directory Path
- Displays the
root directory path of the Autonomy collections.
