Installing InfoSphere Enterprise Records interactively

You can install IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records interactively by running the installation wizard from the Application Engine or Workplace XT server.

To install InfoSphere Enterprise Records interactively:

  1. Application Engine: If Application Engine is deployed, undeploy it. Follow the instructions in the “Upgrade Application Engine” task in the IBM FileNet® P8 Platform Installation and Upgrade Guide. Follow the instructions to log in to the server, stop running processes, back up, undeploy, and remove the Application Engine web application. Return to this guide when the procedure instructs you to copy modified files to the installed Application Engine directory.
  2. Workplace XT: If Workplace XT is deployed, undeploy it. Follow the instructions in the “Upgrade IBM FileNet Workplace XT” task in the IBM FileNet P8 Platform Installation and Upgrade Guide. Follow the instructions to log in to the server, stop running processes, back up, undeploy, and remove the Workplace XT web application. Copy existing configuration files for your installation. Return to this guide when the procedure instructs you to start the Workplace XT upgrade process.
  3. If your web application server is running, stop it.
  4. Access the installation software.
  5. Start the installation wizard using one of the following commands:
    Platform Command
    AIX® 4.5.1.0-P8RM-AIX.bin
    HP-UX 4.5.1.0-P8RM-HPUX.bin
    HP-UXi 4.5.1.0-P8RM-HPUXi.bin
    Linux® 4.5.1.0-P8RM-Linux.bin
    Solaris 4.5.1.0-P8RM-Sol.bin
    Windows® 4.5.1.0-P8RM-WIN.exe
    Linux on System z® 4.5.1.0-P8RM-ZLINUX.bin
  6. Complete the screens in the installation wizard. For Custom installations (that is, to install a subset of InfoSphere Enterprise Records components), ensure that you select the Custom installation type, and select which component(s) you want to install.
