Create and enable a Rendition Engine connection

Creating a Rendition Engine connection is accomplished using Enterprise Manager.

Starting the Create a Rendition Engine Connection wizard

  1. Right-click the domain.
  2. Choose Properties.
  3. Select the Publishing tab.
  4. In the Select Rendition Engine Connection area, click New.

Specify a Site wizard page

Choose a site from a list of available sites that the new Rendition Engine connection is associated with. (The initial default site is also included in this list.)

A site represents a geographical location in the FileNet P8 domain where resources such as server instances are connected by a Local Area Network. Content Engine creates a default site during installation, and there can be multiple sites within a domain.

Ensure that the Rendition Engine connection name is unique and that it does not appear in the Existing Names list.

Configure the Database wizard page

Define the Rendition Engine connection settings:

Clicking Create Connection uses all the defined Rendition Engine connection settings to make a new connection. Otherwise, click Next to proceed to the summary page and verify all of your entered information.
