Application Integration lets you access Workplace XT from Microsoft® Office or Outlook. You can quickly add documents, check in, check out, and save copies of your work from inside Office. From Outlook, you can also add documents and folders as well as access workflows and work items .
You can also use Application Integration to access Workplace XT from FileNet P8 eForms Designer for designing forms that can be filled out in Workplace XT. For more information, see FileNet P8 eForms Designer Help.
You cannot install Application Integration for Workplace and Workplace XT on a single workstation at the same time. If you want to integrate Workplace XT with your Office applications and Outlook, but those applications are currently integrated with Workplace, you must first uninstall Application Integration for Workplace, and then install Application Integration for Workplace XT.
In addition, if you are using Office 2003 or earlier versions, you must use Application Integration to integrate with Workplace or Workplace XT. However, if you are using Office 2007, you must use Integration for Microsoft Office to access FileNet P8 documents from Office 2007 applications. Refer to Download Application Integration BCS for more information.
NOTE The Application Integration Toolkit Components option is required to use Application Integration.
