When you click Security Classification in the Record Information page, you can review or edit the security classification properties of a record. IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records applies the changes after you click Apply in the Record Information page. Below are descriptions of the properties and instructions for modifying the values.
Derived From is populated by one of the following:

NOTE IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records saves the Derived From property as a string value. You can only select an SCG when you initially declare the record.
NOTE After you remove an SCG, you cannot restore the SCG into the Derived From property.
NOTE Changing the Derived From property does not affect Initial Classification, Current Classification, Reasons For Classification, and Downgrade Instructions.
Initial classification is the security classification specified by the user who initially declared the record.
To modify the initial classification
Click the drop-down menu, and select one of the following values:
Current classification reflects the current security marking on the record. Current classification can be Top Secret, Secret, Confidential, or Unclassified.
To change the current classification
Click one of the following Actions in the left panel of the Record Information page:
NOTE If you are upgrading an Unclassified record to a higher classification like Confidential, Secret, or Top Secret, many of the required properties for the newly upgraded record may be missing. To make sure you have assigned the correct properties to the record, go to the info page for the record, click on Security Classification, complete all of the missing "required" properties for that record's classification, and click Apply.
You can modify Reasons For Classification after the record has been classified.
To change the reasons
You can modify the Classifying Agency after the record has been classified. Do not modify the classifying agency unless the declarer of the record entered an incorrect value.
To modify the Classifying Agency, enter the correct text, such as CIA, State Department, Department of Defense, or any appropriate agency.
IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records populates Classified By if the record is an Original Classification. After the record is classified, enter an appropriate user name or title in the Classified By property field.
You can change the Declassify On properties after the record is classified. These properties are disabled if the record has a supplemental marking of Restricted Data or Formerly Restricted Data. Declassify On properties consist of the following:
NOTE The Declassify On Date is not required. If this property is not specified, IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records uses the Default Declassification Timeframe to determine the date of declassification. For more information, see IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records system configuration.
To edit this property, click Exemptions to add or remove exemption categories.
You can change the Downgrade On properties after the record is declared. These properties are disabled if the record has a supplemental marking of Restricted Data or Formerly Restricted Data. Downgrade On properties consist of the following;
