Administering multiple FileNet P8 domains
You can administer multiple FileNet P8 domains from a single instance of Enterprise Manager. In addition to being able to switch to another domain without closing Enterprise Manager, you can create and locally store a list of frequently used domains by adding them to a list of preconfigured domains that are displayed when you start Enterprise Manager.
The procedures that follow describe how you switch to another domain and edit the list of preconfigured domains.
To switch to a different domain
- In Enterprise Manager, right-click the root domain node and click All Tasks > Select Domain.
- Click Yes to log off the current domain. The Enterprise Manager Logon window appears with a list of preconfigured domains.
- Select the designed domain and click Connect.
To add a domain to the preconfigured list of domains
- From the Enterprise Manager logon window, click Add to open the Enterprise Manager - Add Domain window.
-
Provide the information that identifies the server URL and the optional account information to access the domain.
This information (including the account information, if provided) is stored in an XML file. The password is encrypted for security purposes. However, if the account information is not provided, a connection window requesting the account name opens before a connection is made to the domain. The account information entered in this window is not added to the XML file and must be entered again upon return to the domain logon screen.
- Click OK to add the domain information to the list of domains.
- The domain is now available from the Enterprise Manager logon window.
To edit an existing domain in the preconfigured list of domains
- From the Enterprise Manager logon screen, choose a domain entry and click Edit to open the Enterprise Manager - Edit Domain window.
- Edit the information that identifies the server URL and optional account information to access the domain.
- Click OK to update the domain entry with the new information and save it to the list of domains.
To remove an existing domain from the preconfigured list of domains
- From the Enterprise Manager logon screen, choose a domain entry and click Remove. A warning message appears stating that you are about to remove the selected domain settings.
- Click OK to remove the domain entry from the list of preconfigured domains.
