Edit security map
Create a map of security principals by assigning the accounts in one (source)
domain to the desired accounts in another (destination) domain.
NOTE You cannot change from
one directory server type to another when mapping accounts. For example, you cannot map
accounts in the Active Directory to accounts in Sun Java™ System Directory Server.
The Source Name column consists of the accounts contained in the XML
import file that was specified on the Specify
Files page of the wizard. These are the user and group accounts for which
security principals exist in the source domain. The wizard populates the contents
of the Destination Name column according to these
conditions.
- Edit Map File
- For each account that appears in the Source Name column, select an
account and click Update Item. This launches
the Select Users and Groups window that can be used to access the accounts
available in the destination domain, and map each account in the source domain
to the same or a different account in the destination domain.
- Source Name
- This read-only field contains the source domain.
- Destination Name
- This read-only field contains the destination domain.
-
After finding the appropriate account, select the account and click OK.
The mapped account is displayed in the Destination
Name column.
Click Finish to complete the wizard. Enterprise
Manager applies the selected security principals to the destination domain
and saves the results to the XML output file that was specified on the Specify Files page of the wizard. The
wizard also saves the security map according to the mapping options that
were specified on the previous page of the wizard.
