Open forms

You can open a blank form from a document policy or a workflow policy. You can also open launched forms.

For information about opening offline forms, see Take a form offline and the Desktop eForms help.

To open a blank instance of a form in Workplace

  1. Navigate to the object store and folder that contains the form you want.

These are the ways you can open a form:

NOTE   You can also open a form by clicking a form template. If the form template is associated with more than one policy, the Select Form Policy page is displayed so you can choose the appropriate document or workflow policy. Click Select below the name of the form to open it.

If a Save button does not appear on a form, it's because the form template is not associated with an entry template. If a form template is not associated with a document or workflow policy, the form opens in a read-only state and you cannot fill out the form. There will be a warning message in the Message Banner at the top of the form such as the following:

Other messages could appear in the Message Banner when you open a data document, including the following:

  1. Click Save on the form toolbar to save the form data document.

To open a launched workflow form

  1. Navigate to the Task page.
  2. Open the work item from your Inbox or Public Queue.

For more information, see Workflow based form operations.

NOTE  Once you complete the work item assigned to you, you can view the form data document, but you cannot edit it until the workflow process is finished.
