Remove a Verity index area

Removing an index area from an object store or site removes all the collections that have been created for that object store. You cannot delete an index area that still has Verity collections. Once an index area is removed, the object store components previously enabled for CBR searches are no longer available.

IMPORTANT This procedure only applies if you are not in the process of migrating the object store to IBM® Content Search Services. For information about deleting an IBM Legacy Content Search Engine index area as part of object store migration, see the following topic: Deleting IBM Legacy Content Search Engine indexed objects.

To remove an index area from an object store or site

  1. Remove any Verity collections from the index area. To remove the Verity collections, you must first execute an index job with all base classes' CBR Enabled flag cleared. This deletes the Verity collections and removes any references to them in the object store.
  2. In Enterprise Manager, expand the object store or site node that contains the index area you want to remove.
  3. Select the Index Areas node to display the configured index areas.
  4. Right-click on the index area you wish to delete, and select Delete from the menu.
