Configure displaying record type metadata during declaration
Use Enterprise Manager to configure displaying the record type metadata when a record is
declared using Workplace. In addition, after you perform this configuration procedure, the
record type metadata for a record will also display in the record's properties page. The
following procedure assumes you want to display record types for all record classes, although
you could choose to display record types for only specific record classes.
To configure displaying record types during declaration
- Log on to Enterprise Manager as Records Administrator.
- Access the Record class from the Document class displayed under the FPOS object store.
- Right-click Record and select Properties to access the properties sheet of the record class.
- Select the Property Definitions tab.
- A list of properties for the class displays. (For record subclasses, click on the Inherited Properties checkbox to display the properties.)
- Scroll down until you find the property named Type (for Base or DoD data models) or Record Type (for PRO), select the property.
- Click Edit.
- Select the More tab.
- Clear the Hidden checkbox.
- Click OK.
- Click OK again to close the properties sheet of the record class. The Propagate Metadata Changes dialog box displays.
- Click on the Record Type checkbox under the Update Property Definitions heading. This setting will propagate the record type Property Definitions to all the subclasses.
- Click OK.
