Command-line tools: General usage reference
You can use several command-line tools to configure the indexing and searching behavior of IBM® Content Search Services servers. These tools are installed as part of the server installation. The scripts for these tools are in the server-home/bin
directory, where server-home is the root directory for the installed server.
You can run a tool without any command-line parameters to display the usage for the tool.
- Administration tool usage
- The command-line administration tool permits administrative actions to be performed.
- Configuration tool usage
- The command-line configuration tool permits parameter values to be viewed or set for a server. You indirectly set many of the server parameter values when you install the server.
- Stop word tool usage
- The command-line stop word tool permits stop words to be defined for a server.
- Synonym tool usage
- The command-line synonym tool permits synonyms to be defined for an index.
- Locale setting
- The
-locale
command-line tool option determines the language for any tool messages that are written to the log file.
