After you have created or selected your object stores,
you must configure them to be used with IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records. The configuration consists
of two parts: selecting the object store type for each object store,
and applying the data model to each object store. After these initial
configuration steps, then you can set the security for the object
stores.
If this is the first log in after you have installed InfoSphere Enterprise
Records, the application displays
the Configure Object Store page for the initial
configuration tasks. Select the object store that you want to configure.
To
see the object stores, you must be an object store administrator.
To
configure an object store for IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records:
- Log in to InfoSphere Enterprise
Records as
a Records Administrator for the object store that you want to configure.
- Select the Configure tab. The screen displays all object stores that have been configured
for InfoSphere Enterprise
Records.
- Click Object Store Configuration,
and then click Configure Object Store in the
top panel. The Select Object Store page
displays all available object stores that are not configured or need
to be upgraded for InfoSphere Enterprise
Records.
- Select the object store that you want to configure. From
the Object Store Type list, choose the type
of object store that you want to configure:
Option |
Description |
FPOS |
To configure a file plan object store. |
ROS |
To configure a records object store. |
FPOS and ROS |
To configure a combined file plan object store and a records
object store. Provides core records management functionality and properties. |
- Select the data model that you want to apply to the object
store:
Option |
Description |
Base |
Provides core records management functionality and properties.
The Base data model is sufficient for meeting most records management
requirements and is the recommended model. However, it does not adhere
to either the DoD, DoD Classified, or PRO standards. |
Department of Defense (DoD) |
Includes the properties required by version 2 of the DoD standard
(DoD 5015.2). |
Department of Defense Classified (DoD Classified) |
Includes the properties required by version 2 of the DoD Classified
standard (DoD 5015.2) for managing classified records. |
Public Records Office (PRO) |
Includes the properties required by the PRO 2002 standard.
The PRO data model might not be supported in subsequent releases of
InfoSphere Enterprise Records. |
After choosing the object store type, a number of additional
selections display, depending on the object store type. Of these,
the data model selection must be set at this time, while the other
can be set at a later date. If you plan to set them later, select No in
each list to defer the configuration.
- Wait until the confirmation message displays to indicate
that the object stores were configured successfully. If you want to
assign the security roles now, click Set Security in
the confirmation message. You can run the security script
wizard later if you want, but you cannot use the object stores until
the security roles have been assigned.
