InfoSphere Enterprise Records, Version 4.5.1.3+

Increasing time-out on IBM FileNet® P8 Platform 4.5

On your version 4.5 Content Engine server, set or adjust the transaction time-out value for your application server.

Option Description
WebSphere® Application Server
  1. On your Content Engine server:
    1. Log on to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.
    2. Navigate to Servers > Application Servers > servername > Container Services > Transaction Service.
    3. Increase the values for total transaction lifetime timeout and maximum transaction timeout as described in the Configure WebSphere Application Server for Content Engine task.
  2. On your InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records server, set the Request timeout value:
    1. Log on to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.
    2. Navigate to Servers > Application Servers > servername > Container Services > ORB service.
    3. Set the Request timeout value to 150% of the transaction timeout value you set for Content Engine. For example, if your Content Engine Transaction Timeout value is 600, set the Request Timeout value to 900. There is a difference between Content Engine transaction timeout and InfoSphere Enterprise Records ORB services transaction timeout. You need to first set the Content Engine transaction timeout for all application servers and then change the InfoSphere Enterprise Records ORB services transaction timeout only for WebSphere Application Server.
WebLogic Server Complete the (Optional) Adjust transaction-timeout value step in the Configure WebLogic Server for Content Engine task of the IBM FileNet P8 Platform Installation and Upgrade Guide.
JBoss Application Server
  1. On the Content Engine server, stop the JBoss Application Server.
  2. Go to the JBOSS_HOME/server/default/conf/jboss-service.xmldirectory and open the file for editing.
  3. Locate the TransactionTimeout attribute tag, and set its value to at least 600 (seconds). For example:
    <attribute name="Transaction
    Timeout">600</attribute>
  4. Save and close jboss-service.xml.
  5. Start the JBoss Application Server.
