You
replicate the object stores so that the upgrade procedures do not
change the original version 3.5.2 production data.
To replicate the object stores:
- Use your database tools to create a database, or
tablespace if appropriate for your database type, to hold each of
the replica object stores. Ensure that the database user who accesses
the version 3.5.2 production object store database has the same rights
and privileges to access its replica.
- Restore the version 3.5.2 production database backup into
the replica database using the procedures appropriate for your database
type. Ensure that the replica database is the one you are recreating,
so that the production database is not changed.
- Create an appropriate connection in the database client
to the replica database from the version 3.5.2 replica server. Do
not create any connections from the replica server to the production
databases.
- Redirect the replica Content Engine to
use the replica object store database:
- Start the version 3.5.2 FileNet® Enterprise Manager that is associated with
the replica server and log in as an object store administrator.
- Right-click Properties for each
object store. Ignore any errors that indicate that the replica system
cannot access the source object store database.
- Modify the information on the Database page
to indicate the replica database.
