The user information entered during the creation of the fixed content device corresponds to a user account that will authenticate to the OnDemand server. This user must be given CFSOD privilege as well as Access privilege to the OnDemand Application Group.
NOTE The Content Manager OnDemand user account, that is used as the CEMP-CFS CMOD fixed content device user, must have a minimum timeout period of thirty minutes to prevent a timeout during a content retrieval operation. The timeout period for a CMOD user is defined in the OnDemand Administrator utility. If you are using Oracle with Content Manager OnDemand and CEMP/CFS, you must define the user as part of a JDBC data source. For details about defining the user as part of a JDBC data source, see Configuring CFS-CMOD for use with Content Manager OnDemand on Oracle.
When documents are entered on the Content Manager OnDemand system you must create the corresponding document classes on the FileNet P8 system to send content from the OnDemand system to FileNet P8. Unlike other fixed content device configurations, users cannot send content from FileNet P8 to an OnDemand system.
FileNet P8 document classes correspond to Content Manager OnDemand application groups, which provide the security of the documents stored on Content Manager OnDemand and determine the Content Manager OnDemand location where the documents are stored.
To minimize complexity on the Content Engine, create two separate sets of FileNet P8 document class names: one for documents that originate from FileNet P8 Platform applications; one for documents that originate from applications that run on the Content Manager OnDemand system. That is, do not send documents from the Content Manager OnDemand system to a document class that is used for documents entered through FileNet P8 Platform applications.
When documents are entered on the Content Manager OnDemand system, you can create an application group that corresponds to a FileNet P8 document class. Document properties are stored on both the Content Manager OnDemand and Content Engine systems, and documents in this document class would be retrievable by both the Content Manager OnDemand and Content Engine systems. Also, updating the field values of federated documents through the OnDemand system will be disabled.
NOTE Updating the properties on Content Engine does not update the corresponding Content Manager OnDemand properties, and causes the Content Manager OnDemand and Content Engine properties to be out of synchronization.
