InfoSphere Enterprise Records, Version 4.5.1.3+

FileNet P8 Platform prerequisites on one or more servers before installing InfoSphere Enterprise Records software

You must install the following core components of the IBM® FileNet® P8 suite of products before you install IBM InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records: Content Engine, Process Engine, and Application Engine or Workplace XT. Application Engine or Workplace XT is usually installed on the same server as the InfoSphere Enterprise Records software while Content Engine and Process Engine are usually installed on servers that connect to the server running InfoSphere Enterprise Records software.

Important: You must complete the Application Engine or Workplace XT installation, including configuring the application server and installing the latest Content Engine and Process Engine client files on the server. Failing to complete this step might cause the InfoSphere Enterprise Records installer to fail.

Content Engine, Process Engine, and Application Engine or Workplace XT must already be updated to the latest patch levels that are compatible with InfoSphere Enterprise Records. See the IBM FileNet P8 Compatibility Matrix to determine the most current, compatible fix pack levels for Content Engine, Process Engine, and Application Engine or Workplace XT. The environment must meet all applicable requirements listed in the IBM FileNet P8 Hardware and Software Requirements document.

Restriction: Running a single InfoSphere Enterprise Records installation with both an Application Engine and Workplace XT system on the same server is not supported.

If the site is using the reports supplied by InfoSphere Enterprise Records, the server where you install Crystal Reports must also have the Content Engine Java™ Client Files and Enterprise Manager (optional) installed. Therefore, be sure you have the FileNet P8 Platform installation media available. See Configuring Crystal Reports with IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records and the Crystal Reports documentation.
