Create a database index for a property as a possible alternative to setting the property as CBR-enabled. Database indexes are searched for the CBR query only as opposed to the full-text search expression that the query contains. (The search results from the full-text search expression are merged with the search results from the CBR query.) Consequently, you might want a database index in the following circumstance: you do not want or need the property text to be searched as part of the object text in the full-text search expression. For a frequently queried property, a database index reduces the amount of time needed to process queries on the property.
Database indexes are stored in the object store database and have no relationship to the IBM® Content Search Services indexes. You cannot create a database index for a system-owned property.
