Change the default site

When Content Engine is first installed, the domain node contains one site named "Initial Site"; this site is set as the default site for the domain. The default site contains associated resources such virtual servers, index areas, and object stores; any new resources added to the domain (for example, content cache areas) are associated with the default site. Enterprise Manager appends the string "[Default]" to the site name indicating that it is the default site. There can be only one default site in the domain.

You use Enterprise Manager to change the default site. Any new resources added to the domain are then associated with the new default site. The original default site's name changes (the appended string is removed) to reflect that it is no longer the default site.

If more than one site is available in the domain, you can choose which site to associate a resource with when you create the resource.

To change the default site

In Enterprise Manager, right-click the site you want to make the default site and click Set Site to Default Site.
