FileNet P8 domain properties (Trace Control tab)

The Trace Control tab provides trace logging configuration information about FileNet P8 domain objects.

Configuration Source
Indicates the domain object that these configuration parameters apply to and whether the current properties are inherited from another object.
Disable/Enable Trace Logging
Toggles the current state of trace logging for the Configuration Source object. When trace logging is disabled, all configuring objects (Subsystems and Trace Flag lists, Default, and Copy Values push buttons) are also disabled.
Log File Output Location
Specifies the directory for the output of this trace log. If you don't specify a location, the directory defaults to the application server instance’s working directory path appended with /FileNet. The filename for the trace log is always p8_server_trace.log.
Select the subsystem to configure
Select the subsystem to configure. Changes to trace flags only affect that selected subsystem. Selecting the check boxes in the Set/Clear All Flags column selects all flags associated with the selected subsystem and is reflected in the Trace Flags list described below. When trace control configuration is inherited or copied from another object, the subsystem list is disabled.

With the Flags list (below the Subsystem list), you can configure each trace flag for a selected subsystem. Selecting all trace flags selects the check box associated with the selected subsystem in the subsystems list. Any other combination of selected and cleared trace flags results in the check box associated with the current subsystem being disabled in the Subsystems list. When trace control configuration is inherited or copied from another object, the Trace Flags list box is disabled.

Override inherited settings
For virtual server and server instance notes, select the check box to override the inherited configuration settings and enable the subsystem settings. When this option is enabled, you can click Copy Values to select an object from which to copy configuration settings, or you can click Default to apply the default configuration settings stored on the domain object to the current object and all subsystems.
