(WebSphere Application Server 6.1) Disabling Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for RMI/IIOP

Follow these instructions to disable Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for RMI/IIOP if you use WebSphere® Application Server 6.1.

To turn off SSL for RMI/IIOP, do the following:

  1. On the Content Engine server, open the WebSphere console.
  2. Go to Security > Secure administration, applications, and infrastructure > RMI/IIOP Security > CSIv2 inbound authentication.
  3. Change Client certificate authentication from “Supported” to “Never.”
  4. Go to Security > Secure administration, applications, and infrastructure > RMI/IIOP Security > CSIv2 inbound transport.
  5. Change Transport from “SSL-supported” to “TCP/IP.”
  6. Go to Security > Secure administration, applications, and infrastructure > RMI/IIOP Security > CSIv2 outbound transport.
  7. Change Transport from “SSL-supported” to “TCP/IP.”
  8. Save the changes and restart the WebSphere Application Server.
