After you have finished planning your upgrade and performing the prerequisite tasks, you are ready to upgrade and configure IBM® FileNet® eForms for P8 software.
The upgrade procedure described in this guide assumes that you will:
The form.properties file for FileNet P8 eForms 3.5.1 and earlier has been replaced with the eForms-preferences.xml file. To retain your settings, any customizations stored in the form.properties file must be manually added to the new eForms-preferences.xml file. If you do not reset your manual customizations, they will be lost. See Preference settings reference for information about customizing eForms site and user preferences.
Included in the installation is a package that enables the Download Offline Forms Integration feature in IBM FileNet Workplace or IBM FileNet Workplace XT. With this feature, users can download and install Desktop eForms, an application that can be used to open offline forms. For more information about offline forms, refer to the IBM FileNet P8 Platform documentation.
Print services are now installed automatically.
For HTTP auto-increment, lookup, and submit pages, FileNet P8 eForms now supports only canonically-formatted data. If you have any custom HTTP auto-increment, lookup, or submit pages, they may require modification to make them compatible with FileNet P8 eForms.
If you have any HTTP auto-increment, lookup, or submit pages that have been used for both FileNet P8 eForms and Desktop eForms, you will have to create separate pages for each platform or include logic that distinguishes one platform from the other. This is because the data format is not the same for Desktop eForms as it is for FileNet P8 eForms.
