Upgrading IBM Legacy Content Search Engine interactively (UNIX)

To upgrade IBM® Legacy Content Search Engine interactively, you must run an installation program wizard.

An X terminal must be installed on the IBM Legacy Content Search Engine server to run the interactive installation program.

To upgrade IBM Legacy Content Search Engine interactively:

  1. Run the installation program:
    Platform Command
    AIX® 5.0.0-P8CSE-AIX.BIN
    HPUX 5.0.0-P8CSE-HPUX.BIN
    HPUXi 5.0.0-P8CSE-HPUXi.BIN
    Linux® 5.0.0-P8CSE-LINUX.BIN
    Solaris 5.0.0-P8CSE-SOL.BIN
  2. Complete the installation screens using the values in your worksheet.
  3. Review the following IBM Legacy Content Search Engine interactively: log files for installation errors. The files are located in the verity directory of the installation path:
    • cse_install_path/verity/cse_install_log_5.0.0.log
    • cse_install_path/verity/vconfig.log
  4. Access the host machine and log on as a user with root privileges.
  5. Enter the following commands to set the setuid bit for the vspget program so that the service runs as root:
    chown root verity_install_path/k2/_platform/bin/vspget
    chmod u+s verity_install_path/k2/_platform/bin/vspget
    Replace _platform with the following directory:
    Platform Directory
    AIX _rs6k43
    HPUX _hpux
    Solaris _ssol26
    Linux _ilnx21
