Stop all Process Engine-related services and applications before upgrading from version
4.0 or 4.5.
Remember: If upgrading
a server farm environment, you will need to stop all Process Engine-related services and applications
on all of the nodes in the farm.
- Log on as root.
- Stop the following components if they are running:
- Process Simulator
- Case Analyzer
- Component Manager
- Content Engine
- Process Service
- Process Task Manager
- Shut down any active windows displaying Process Engine log files.
- Enter the following at a command prompt to stop the Process Engine software:
initfnsw -y stop
- Enter the following at a command prompt after the Process Engine software is shut down.
killfnsw -DAyS
or killfnsw -D -A -y -S
- (AIX only) Run the following command:
slibclean
- Run the following command to look for any java processes
that are still running:
ps -ef | grep java | grep VW
- Kill any FileNet® P8-related running java processes.
