View document information
You can easily view and edit the property information for the object
stores, folders, documents, forms, and objects that you work with in Workplace. When you find an object and click the Get Info icon or the Get Info icon and then Get Info, the associated information page for that item is displayed.
The information page provides a series of views with different properties
related to the selected object. The possible views are the following, although some objects do not use all of these views:
- Child Documents displays the child documents associated with a specific parent document. The child documents are displayed in the order in which they were associated with a parent document. You can add more child documents, select a child document, modify the order in which the documents are displayed, and insert and remove a specific child document.
- Folders Filed In displays the different folder locations for the object. An object can be filed in more than one folder, and you can move an object from one folder to another (provided that you have appropriate access to the folders).
- History displays the event history for the object.
- Links displays the link properties for the object if the object is linked to another object. This links refers to standard documents and objects not to compound documents. Access compound document link information page from a specific child document's information page.
- Parent Documents displays the parent documents of a specific child document. The parent documents are displayed in the order in which they were associated with a child document.

Properties displays the properties and system properties associated with the object. You can modify the property values if you possess appropriate access rights to the object and the property. Your site administrator can define some properties as read-only, and can define security markings for properties that can prevent you from seeing or editing some property values. You cannot edit system properties.
- Security displays the security settings for the object. If you possess
the correct permissions, you can change the security for the object.
- Versions displays the version series information for a document. For more information on document versions, see Manage document versions.
- Record Properties View (available if IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records is installed) displays InfoSphere Enterprise Records properties for declared versions of a document. The display is customized by your administrator.
