You can upgrade the Process Engine by
using the Process Engine installation
wizard.
Install the Process Engine software
and optionally configure the software to automatically start.
- Open
your completed Installation and Upgrade Worksheet file.
Tip: In the worksheet file, verify that the command is enabled. To view only Process Engine values, filter by PE
Installer in the Installation or Configuration
Program column.
- Log on to the Process Engine server as pe_install_user.
- Navigate to the Process Engine software
package, and start the 5.0.0-P8PE-WIN.EXE installation
program. Choose to automatically start the Process Engine
Manager if prompted.
- Check
for the IBM_FileNet_Process_Engine_5.0.0_InstallLog.log file
in the installation directory. The default installation directory
is C:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\FileNet\ProcessEngine\.
- If errors occur during
installation, check the following files in the Temp directory
as identified by the TEMP or TMP environment variable.
- pe500_install_stderr.txt
- pe500_install_stdout.txt
- If you received a message during installation that you
were installing as a non-Administrator, log on as an Administrator
and run the following commands to modify the Windows registry and
create the Process Engine Manager service. Enter the following
commands at a command prompt:
>cd Process_Engine_program_files_install_location\installer
>CreateVWServicesPE.bat
- Start the Process Engine Manager service.
In a farmed or cluster configuration,
if you are on node one, make a copy of the installation_path/data/peseed.jar file.
Copy the peseed.jar file from node 1 into the installation_path/data directory
on every other node.
