State of lifecycle policy
The State window lets you add a new state or modify an existing state on the current lifecycle policy. This window opens
after you click the Add or Modify button when you're creating a new lifecycle policy or reviewing the General properties for an
existing lifecycle policy.
The following paragraphs describe the fields available on this screen.
- Lifecycle state name
- Enter the name of the state you want to add to the selected lifecycle policy.
- Allow Demotion from State
- Specify whether the document in the current state is eligible for demotion:
- Select Allow Demotion from State to allow for demotion. For example, a loan document in an Approval
state could be eligible for demotion to an Application state in case a customer is unhappy with an approved loan application
under the terms offered. This would allow the operator to seek approval again under different terms.
- Clear Allow Demotion from State to prevent demotion. For example, you might prevent demotion of a loan
document in its final state of Closed.
- Apply Security Template on Entry
- Specify whether to apply the security permissions defined on the Template Security tab to the document when the document enters the present state.
