Disabling auditing
You can disable auditing completely or at various levels.
To disable auditing
To disable auditing, select one of the following options, depending on the extent to which you want to disable auditing:
- To stop auditing a specific property of a class, clear the Audit As value on the property definition on the class. See Configuring auditing for a property for detailed instructions.
IMPORTANT Do not remove user-defined property definitions on an audited event class as a way to stop auditing specific object properties. Doing so results in removing the corresponding values from existing audit entries in the audit log.
- To disable auditing for a specific event on a class, disable all the audit definitions for the event. If the class includes specific properties that are audited, auditing of those properties is disabled as well; this action does not stop auditing of the same properties on a different class.
- To disable auditing for a specific class, disable or delete all the audit definitions for the class.
- To disable auditing for the entire object store, clear the Auditing Enabled check box in the object store general properties. See Enabling auditing for an object store for detailed instructions.
