Configuring InfoSphere Enterprise
Records after
installation
After you installIBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records,
you must configure your system before you can use InfoSphere Enterprise
Records for records management
activities.
Adding marking sets and add-ons to the IBM FileNet P8 domain
Marking sets are property values that control access to
the objects in an entire FileNet® P8 domain.
Add-ons are custom implementations of classes, objects, and properties
that support extensions to core Content Engine features
and other applications that integrate with Content Engine. Before you can use marking
sets and add-ons with IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records,
you must add them to your domain by running the creation tool.
Configuration files
It is important to know that a number of IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records configuration files installed
in the RM_install_path/FileNet/Config/RM directory.
You might be able to access and edit some of these files for configuration
purposes.
Creating and configuring object stores for InfoSphere Enterprise Records
An object store is a repository of objects and accompanying
storage and retrieval services. Object stores are created critical
for FileNet P8 architecture.
Object stores exist in Content Engine,
but they are accessed by using the IBM FileNet Enterprise Manager interface. IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records requires two object store
types: one for the file plan object store (FPOS), and another for
the records object store (ROS). These can be created using two separate
object stores or a single combined FPOS and ROS object store.
(DoD Classified only) Creating the classified records security personnel access role
You can create the Classified Records Security Personnel
access role on the IBM FileNet P8 system
for use with the DoD Classified data model. A member of this access
role can upgrade, downgrade, set the declassification timeframe, and
declassify a classified record in IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records.
Setting site preferences in Application Engine or Workplace XT
Before using IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records,
you must modify the site preferences in Application Engine or Workplace XT so that these applications
work appropriately with the InfoSphere Enterprise
Records web
application.
Configuring workflow IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records provides
a number of workflows to accomplish records management tasks, such
as charging out records, destroying InfoSphere Enterprise
Records entities, and reviewing
entities before destroying them. Before you can use these workflows
with your site you must configure them.
Configuring the InfoSphere Enterprise Records tools
If you installed any of the optional tools during the InfoSphere Enterprise
Records installation, you must
configure the tools on the server where they are installed. Before
you can run the IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Disposition
Sweep or Hold Sweep applications, for example, you must configure
them for use in your environment by specifying, among other things,
the name of the FPOS and the Content Engine server
on which you want to run the sweep processes.
