InfoSphere Enterprise Records, Version 4.5.1.3+

IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Installation and Upgrade Guide

IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records is an add-on component of the IBM FileNet® P8 suite of products. InfoSphere Enterprise Records enables you to create and maintain accurate, secure, and reliable records for both electronic and physical information.

You can use InfoSphere Enterprise Records to manage records of any type, regardless of the storage media or format. Understanding InfoSphere Enterprise Records depends on understanding what a record is and why you use a records management system.

To install and configure an IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records system, you must be familiar with:
  • The AIX®, HP-UX, HP-UXi, Linux®, Solaris, Windows®, or Linux on System z® operating system.
  • WebSphere® Application Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, or JBoss Application Server.
  • Directory access configuration.
  • User and security configuration.
  • Database configuration and indexing.
  • IBM FileNet P8 suite of products, including Application Engine or Workplace XT.
Important: InfoSphere Enterprise Records Version 4.5.1 Fix Pack 3 and greater supports both FileNet P8 Version 4.5.1 and FileNet P8 Version 5.0. Throughout this guide, there are links to InfoSphere Enterprise Records Version 4.5.1 help topics that are included in the FileNet P8 Version 5.0 Information Center. If you do not upgrade your FileNet P8 system to Version 5.0 and your InfoSphere Enterprise Records help files are still located on a FileNet P8 Version 4.5.1 help server, then the paths to the same help topics are slightly different.

For example, for an InfoSphere Enterprise Records help topic, you might see: IBM FileNet P8 5.0 Information Center topic Working with documents > Working with records > File plans > How to... > Set the default file plan. If your InfoSphere Enterprise Records help files are still located on a FileNet P8 Version 4.5.1 help server, then your path is: IBM FileNet P8 help topic Expansion Products > InfoSphere Enterprise Records > File plans > How to... > Set the default file plan.
