Specify Triggers

Select the events that you want to trigger the actions that are defined in the associated event action.

Available and subscribed events
The triggers that are available depend on the type of object that you selected in the previous step.
Event Description
Cancel Checkout Event A reservation on a document is cancelled.
Change Class Event The class of an object is changed.
Change State Event The lifecycle state of an object is changed.
Checkin Event A versionable object is checked in.
Checkout Event A document object is checked out.
Classify Complete Event An object has been processed by a classifier. For details, see Understanding automatic document classification.
Creation Event An instance of a class is created and saved. Checking out a document object triggers both the creation event and the checkout event, because a new document object (the reservation version) is created by the checkout process. See Specify additional properties for a tip on how to prevent changes to existing documents from firing this event.
Deletion Event An object is deleted from the object store.
Demote Version Event A versionable object is demoted to a minor version. Available only for documents that have versioning enabled. For details, see Versioning Actions: Demote.
File Event An object is filed in a folder (including creation of subfolder).
Freeze Event The Freeze method of a document is called.
Lock Event The Lock method of an object is called.
Promote Version A versionable object is promoted to a major version. Available only for documents that have versioning enabled. For details, see Versioning Actions: Promote.
Publish Request Event A document is submitted for publishing.
Publish Complete Event The publishing operation on a document completes.
Unfile Event An object is unfiled from a folder (including deletion of subfolder).
Unlock Event The Unlock method of an object is called.
Update Event The properties of an object are changed.
Update Security Event The security of an object is changed.
