Advanced Author tools

Advanced Author tools allow users to create templates, security policies, workflow subscriptions, and workflows, and store them in an object store. Users can use templates to quickly perform the functions for which the template was designed, for example, to use identical criteria to search for objects.

Administrators can restrict access to the Advanced Tools view of the Author page by setting the Primary Views site preferences to show or hide the page. In addition, access roles can be used to restrict access to specific tools when the page is displayed.

Add Entry Template - Create or modify entry templates for documents, folders, custom objects, and declare as record (if IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records is enabled).

jump to Form Template Policy help Add Form Template Policy - Create and modify form template policy specifications (if the optional IBM FileNet P8 eForms application is installed).
jump to Workflow subscription help Add Workflow Subscription - Create, modify, or delete a workflow subscription based on a document, folder or custom object class description.

jump to Publishing Designer help Publishing Designer - Create and modify publishing templates.

A publishing template specifies general instructions, such as the location in which the destination document is saved, and the style template to supply a transformation engine. You can also specify the properties and security that are applied to the destination document.

Publishing Designer also allows you to specify instructions for republishing a document. You can specify that the document be versioned, a new document be added, and you can replace or retain the existing document.

Publishing Designer requires the Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) plug-in to be installed and configured. See Use Java Applets for complete information.
