Custom object search criteria
The Search user preference settings determine the default criteria
displayed in the Search page. The Custom Object view of the Search preferences define settings only for custom objects.
To define custom object search preference criteria
- From any page in Workplace, click Preferences in the upper
right corner.
- In the User Preferences page, click Search from the
list of views.
- Click Custom Object from the list of Search views.
- Select an object store to search.
- If you have not defined any custom object search criteria, a list
of object stores is displayed. Click an object store name to
select it. The search will only look in a single object store. The
General Settings and Property Criteria Settings are displayed after
you select an object store.
- If you want to change the selected object store, click Object
Stores in the Path. A list of object stores is displayed. Click
an object store name to select it.
- Select the appropriate General Settings.
- To specify a default custom object class for a search, click Select Class and select a specific class. Click Clear Class to remove the class that was selected.
- To include subclasses of the class selected in step a, select Include Subclasses.
- To display a field in the Search page to search for specific classes, select Show from the drop-down list. To search for properties only, select Hide.
- To specify the maximum number of items returned in the search results, enter a number. The default is 100.
- Select the appropriate Property Criteria Settings. You can
display and search on up to 5 properties in the Search page. The properties available depend upon the selected object store.
- Select the desired Property Name from the drop-down list.
- Select the desired Operator for the property criteria.
- Select AND or OR to determine the relationship between the current property and the next property.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- Click Exit to close the User Preferences page.
