Document properties (Lifecycle tab)
This tab appears if the document is based
on a document class that has a document lifecycle policy attached, or if a lifecycle
policy was assigned to the document when it was added.
The document title and class appear at the top of the tab.
Use the Lifecycle tab to view or modify the following options.
- Lifecycle policy
- The name of the lifecycle policy.
- Lifecycle state
- The name of the lifecycle state that the document is currently in. Lifecycle
state names are defined in the lifecycle policy.
- Change Lifecycle State
- Click one of the command buttons. Changing lifecycle state
does not require that you click Apply. The current lifecycle state
is always reflected in the Lifecycle State field.
- Click Promote to move the document to the
next state in the sequence defined by the lifecycle policy. This button is unavailable when the state is the last in the sequence defined by the lifecycle
policy.
- Click Demote to move the lifecycle state
to the previous state in the sequence defined by the lifecycle policy. This
button is unavailable if the state cannot be demoted as defined by the
lifecycle policy.
- Click Reset to set the lifecycle state back
to its first state in the sequence defined by the lifecycle policy.
- Is in exception
- Identifies whether the document is in an exception state, meaning that it
cannot be promoted or demoted.
- Select Is in exception and click Apply
to keep the lifecycle state at its current state and to disable the Lifecycle
State command buttons.
- Clear Is in exception and click Apply
to allow the document to be promoted and demoted and to enable the
Lifecycle State command buttons.
