Transfer mappings

When you transfer records and record folders while they are still active, the transfer mapping capability tracks the entities by the organizations receiving and originating the entities. Transfer mappings map Content Engine property names to XML property names that the IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Transfer tool includes in an XML file when importing or exporting IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records entities. For more information about the Transfer tool, see IBM InfoSphere Enterprise Records Transfer Tool.

Briefly, the steps are:

This screen will let you do the following:

Edit transfer mapping

If you choose an existing mapping, you will be allowed to edit the properties that have been set for that mapping using the Edit Export Transfer Mapping screen or the Edit Import Transfer Mapping screen. For more information, see Edit Export Transfer Mapping/Add Export Transfer Mapping or see Edit Import Transfer Mapping/Add Import Transfer Mapping.

NOTE  If you are editing an existing mapping object, the screen name is Edit Export/Import Transfer Mapping, but if you are adding a new transfer mapping object the screen name is Add Export/Import Transfer Mapping.

Add mapping

If you choose the Add Export Transfer Mapping option, you will go to the first of a two screen wizard to create a new transfer mapping document object by setting its properties. For more information, see Add Transfer Mapping.

If you choose the Add Import Transfer Mapping option, you will go to the first of a three screen wizard to create a new transfer mapping document object by setting its properties. For more information, see Add Transfer Mapping.

NOTE  After you have created a new import Transfer Mapping, imported the desired schema file(s), and finished creating the mapping, you cannot then import a new schema file to this import transfer mapping. You need to create a new import transfer mapping with this newly desired schema file.
