Before you configure an object store for content-based retrieval (CBR), you must complete some preliminary steps. Some of these steps are optional and depend on the types of searches users will perform on an object store and the amount of activity you anticipate on an object store. Some of the steps are performed with Autonomy (previously called Verity) K2-provided tools. Refer to the Verity Collection Reference Guide for more information.
Every administration server, broker server, and search server must be attached to the ticket server, but the index server does not need to be attached to the ticket server, because the ticket server attached to the Verity administration server is used instead. The broker servers and search servers can be attached to a ticket server by using the Manage K2 Broker/K2 Server Security link. The administration server is attached by using the Manage Administration Security link.
You can set up multiple administration servers, attach different ticket servers to each administration server, and specify different administration servers in the Verity Admin Server Hostname property in the Verity Server Configuration window. Doing so distributes authentication operations across multiple Verity servers during indexing operations.
The Verity Domain Configuration UserName value is set to a non-null value if ticket servers are used to secure the Verity full text indexing information, and is left as null for non-secure access.P8CSE50
style set for the object store. For an existing object store with non-static content, switching to the P8CSE50
style set might lead to smaller collection sizes with the following resulting benefits: faster indexing, faster searching, and lower resource usage on the Autonomy K2 servers. Modify the style set as needed to configure the Autonomy index and server behavior for the object store. For information about modifying the P8CSE50
style set, see P8CSE50 style set reference. For information about setting the style set for an object store, see Change a style set for an object store.
