Overview for installing and configuring Crystal Reports

Verify that you have completed all prerequisites for configuring IBM® InfoSphere™ Enterprise Records Crystal Reports.

To verify prerequisites for InfoSphere Enterprise Records Crystal Reports:

  1. Verify that you have copied all relevant configuration files to the Crystal Reports server as part of Copying installation files to local server.
  2. Verify that you have copied the required Content Engine JAR files to the Crystal Reports server.
  3. Verify that you have synchronized the Content Engine JAR files on the Crystal Reports server as part of Installing the latest Content Engine and Process Engine client files on InfoSphere Enterprise Records servers.
  4. Verify that you have set the Report application server path in the Application Engine or Workplace XT site preferences as described in Setting site preferences in Application Engine or Workplace XT.
    Tip: The out-of-the-box reports are defined in the ReportsDefinition.xml file. This file is located in the folder where you installed the InfoSphere Enterprise Records software. For example, the XML folder might be found in the C:\Program Files\FileNet\Config\RM folder.
  5. Copy the contents of the folder containing the Crystal Reports templates (RPT files), specific to the data model you are using, from the following data-model-specific folder:

    RM_configuration_files/Reports/DataModel

    to the following location on the Crystal Reports Server:

    Drive:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0
    \Samples\en\Reports
    Important: Do not copy the directory, only the contents of the directory.
  6. Turn on auditing for the following reports:
    • Records Viewed by User/Group within Specific Period Report
    • Actions Performed by User Report
