The FileNet P8 Platform components use a variety of utilities during startup and shutdown. The most common utilities are described below, along with instructions on how to run them.
The startup and shutdown procedures assume that you are familiar with Process Task Manager, Enterprise Manager, and, for Windows platforms, the Windows Services console. For information about using Process Task Manager, see Process Task Manager. For information about using Enterprise Manager, see Concepts: Enterprise Manager. For more information about the Windows Services console, consult its online documentation.
Many of the procedures for Windows-based components use the Windows Services console. You access this console from the Windows Start menu by selecting Programs > Administrative Tools > Services. To start or stop a service, select the service, and click Start or Stop on the toolbar.
You use Process Task Manager to manage Process-related components. The table below summarizes how to start Process Task Manager, depending on the component and platform.
