Entry templates for new items

You must complete these steps for each entry template you create to add a new item:

  1. Select a folder for the new object.
  2. Set the properties for the new object.
  3. Set the security for the new object.
  4. Select a workflow for the new object (optional).
  5. Set the workflow properties (optional).
  6. Set Declare Records (optional for Records Manager installations)*
  7. Select a folder for the new template.
  8. Set the properties for the template.
  9. Set the security for the template.

NOTE  You can create entry templates to associate with a folder for use with WebDAV. While the steps to create the entry template are the same, some of the settings in the template work differently with WebDAV. See Entry templates for WebDAV for more information.

* The Author Record Entry Template Access site preference determines which users see this step.
