Define an isolated region as part of the procedure for specifying how Workplace applications will access Process functionality. An isolated region specifies a Process Engine and a subdivision of the workflow database. See Concepts - isolated region for an overview of the procedure.
After you define an isolated region, continue with creation of a connection point to provide the name used by Workplace applications. See Concepts - connection point for more information.
To start the Create an Isolated Region Wizard
Choose a Site from a list of available Sites that the new Isolated Region is associated with. (The initial default site is also included in this list.)
A site represents a geographical location in the FileNet P8 domain where resources such as server instances are connected by a Local Area Network. Content Engine creates a default site during installation, and there can be multiple sites within a domain.
Enter the following information to identify an isolated region.
Enter a password that the Process Engine (PE) server will use to access the isolated region.
The password ensures that requests received by the PE (Process Engine) server are legitimate. The password you enter here must match the password entered when configuring the PE security connection.
