As a system administrator, you install, configure, and maintain Process Engine (PE) components. (While there are no PE components installed on client machines, you also configure PE as necessary to support clients.)
After installing and initially configuring PE, use Process Configuration Console to configure the workflow database and environment, including creating and modifying the workflow database structures: isolated regions, queues, rosters, and event logs. Process Configuration Console also provides you with management tools to configure event logging and statistics collection, and to set performance parameters. For further information, see Help for Process Configuration Console.
The tasks associated with maintaining and administering PE fall into two broad categories: workflow administration and system administration.
Often these tasks are performed by two distinctly different groups of people. For information about both workflow and system administration tasks, see the appropriate section in Help for Process Engine Administration.
