Content Engine (CE) supports CBR searches in a number of languages. By default, CE is configured to support CBR searching in English. To support searches in a different language, you must create a set of Verity style files for the language you plan to use and then generate indexes using the new style files. The indexes for any given file store, database store, or database support one language only.

).
If you want to omit "noise" words from searches, you can create
an exception word file (style.stp
) for the new language or
copy the existing .stp
file from the appropriate language
folder under \FileNet\Content Engine\Verity\common\ into the new folder.
If you choose to copy one of the existing .stp
files to your
new folder, be sure the rename the file to "style.stp
".
NOTE FileNet P8 Content Search Engine currently does not support .stp
files for double-byte
languages, including most Asian languages.
