About the Properties pane

The properties pane displays the properties of the currently selected item: the workflow, a step, or a route.

Workflow tab

The workflow tab displays the properties of the workflow including the name, subject, and description of the workflow.

The General tab displays the name of the user who launched it, the date and time it was launched, any deadline, the names of the roster and event log, and the condition identifier. and the workflow map and any submaps. These items cannot be modified.

The Trackers tab displays the list of trackers. You can modify this list to add and remove trackers.

The Maps tab displays the list of workflow maps. For a submap, it displays the name of the name and location of the steps that call the submap. These items cannot be modified.

The Milestones tab lists the milestones defined in the workflow. These items cannot be modified.

Step tab

The step tab displays the properties of the selected step. The information varies depending on type of the step: Launch step, General step, Component step, Submap step, System step.

For steps that are completed or never visited, the information in the workflow definition is displayed: which parameters are used at the step, assignments, milestones, and routing information.

If Rules functionality is enabled, the names of any rule sets specified for a step can be viewed by selecting the appropriate type (stage of the step when the rules sets will execute): Before Execution, On Save, or After Completion. These items cannot be modified. See About Rules for general information about using rules in a workflow.

For steps with active work items, the current values of the fields, attachments, workflow groups display for viewing and editing.

Route tab

The route tab displays the properties of the selected route—the route name and any conditional expression. You cannot modify route properties.

TIP If you open Process Tracker using the Status button on a work item page, Process Tracker does not display the properties pane or allow you to make changes to the workflow unless you are assigned as a tracker for that workflow.
