Index area properties (General tab)
The following fields display general information about the selected index area. You can also change the status of the index area from this tab.
- Display Name
- The display name given to the index area when it was created.
- Description
- The description given to the index area when it was created
- Object Store
- The name of the associated object store for this index area.
- Site
- The name of the associated site for this index area.
- Area Status
- The current status of this index area. You can alter the status by selecting the radio button that corresponds to the desired status. Click Apply to save the changes.
- Template Type
- The directory of Verity style files that control Verity configuration options.
- Root Directory Path
- The root directory where Verity collections are stored. This value specifies a local path on the same physical machine as the Verity Index Server.
- Temp Directory Path
- Temporary files are written to this directory.
- Max Collections
- The maximum number of collections for this index area. When this number is exceeded, the server sets the status to “closed” and automatically converts the first Index Area for the same site and object store with a status of “standby” to “open.”
- # Search Servers to Attach
- The number of servers in Verity search servers that will be attached to a newly created collection. The servers chosen are those with the fewest collections already attached to them.
- Verity Search Servers
- The list of Verity search server names for servers that can be attached to a newly created collection of this index area. When a new index area is created, if this list is empty, it will be populated with a list of all search servers of the domain. To add or remove Verity Search Servers from this list, click Edit Search Servers.
- Verity Index Servers
- The list of Verity index server names that can be used to index any object that was created or updated for this index area. When a new index area is created, if this list is empty, it will be populated with a list of all index servers of the domain. To add or remove Verity Index Servers from this list, click Edit Index Servers.
