Create a content cache area

Use Content Engine's Create a Content Cache Area wizard to create a new content cache area.

A single content cache area can be shared among all servers in the domain, or each server can reference it's own content cache area. In either case, a server can reference only once content cache area for its caching.

NOTE   Prior to creating the Content Cache Area in Enterprise Manager, you must create a shared directory on a Windows or UNIX network server with the proper security settings. For more information, see Storage area security.

From a Site's Content Cache Areas node, using the context menu

  1. Select the Content Cache Areas node under the site where you want to create a new content cache area:
  2. Right-click and select New Content Cache Area from the context menu.
  3. Complete the wizard.

You can also create a content cache area from the Content Cache tab on the Properties sheets for the domain, site, virtual server, and server instance.
