Delete a lifecycle policy
The Content Engine lets you delete a lifecycle policy only if it is not
assigned to a document class.
CAUTION Take
care when deleting a lifecycle policy. If a policy is assigned to a document,
deleting the policy puts the document in an invalid state.
To delete
a lifecycle policy
-
In the tree view, expand Object
Stores > object
store name > Document Lifecycles.
-
Select Document Lifecycle
Policies. The details pane lists all currently defined lifecycle
policies.
-
Right-click the desired lifecycle policy and select
Delete. The system displays
a message, asking you to confirm deletion.
- Click Yes to verify deletion.
The system then determines if the policy is assigned to any document
class:
- If the policy is assigned to a document class, the system displays
a list of document classes and aborts the delete request. You must
remove the lifecycle policy from each document class specified before
you can delete the policy.
CAUTION The
system does not check whether the lifecycle policy is assigned directly
to a document.
- If the action is not assigned to a document class, the system deletes
the policy and removes the deleted policy from the details pane.
