System step - rules
When business rules are used in a workflow, you can assign appropriate rule sets to a system step. See
About rules for additional
information.
NOTE The Rules tab is not available when you use a specific predefined step for one of the system functions—for example, an Invoke step from the Web Services step palette. To specify rules for a system function, use a system step with the desired system function.
To specify rules for a system step
- Select the appropriate system step, then select the Rules tab in the
Properties pane.
- On the Rules tab, specify the Typewhen the rule will execute
at runtime.
- Before Execution - The specified rule set will execute before the step is enqueued.
- After Completion - The specified rule set will execute after the step is completed.
- On the Rule Sets bar, click Add.
- In the Rule Set Selection dialog box, select one or more rule sets for this step. See Rule
