The FileNet® System Manager Listener Java™ API provides an easy mechanism for integrating existing and future FileNet applications with the System Manager. By design, the API has relatively few entry points and thus minimizes the amount of time and resources required by an application to integrate with the System Manager. Using the interfaces in this API, the application can create and configure the Listener, listen for events, gather performance data regarding the events and related event attributes, accumulate the data for analysis, add Microsoft® Windows® performance counters to the set of those being monitored automatically, and communicate with connected Managers.
For a description of FileNet System Manager functionality, see the FileNet System Manager overview.
This guide describes the Java interfaces and methods which can be used by third-party client applications to interact with the System Manager Listener objects, and is intended to provide sufficient information to allow a developer to add support for the Listener API to an application. Each API reference topic includes programming information, such as class definitions, parameters, data types, and return values, in addition to sample code.
