Validate Storage Areas
When you select the File menu option or toolbar icon to Validate Storage
Areas on the main Content Consistency Checker Tool window, the Validate Storage
Areas dialog displays. This dialog allows you monitor the progress and then view the summary Validation
Report. You can also stop the consistency check run.
Validate Storage Areas Display
The Validate Storage Areas dialog includes four types of information: content
element counts, validation errors, timings, and a progress bar.
Content Element Counts
Displays the total number of content elements validated during the current run, the number of elements that remain to be validated, and the number of elements being validated per minute.
Validation Errors
Displays the running counts of the number of errors in each category: missing file, bad size, can't validate, unreachable area, access denied, fixed storage area, and unknown errors, as well as the total errors. To learn more about the error categories, go to Validation Errors.
Timings
Displays the start time, end time, duration, and, if the check is still in progress, the projected duration.
- Progress
- The progress bar displays how far the checking process has advanced. Below the progress bar, the current batch number and storage area displays.
Validate Storage Areas commands
- Close
- Closes the Validate Storage Areas dialog.
- Start
- Begins a content consistency check.
- Stop
- Stops the current content consistency check. You cannot restart a check that you have stopped in progress. If you later select a storage area that was previously interrupted, you are asked whether you would like to validate this storage area again or not.
- View Summary
- Takes you to the Validation Reports dialog that contains the results of the current content consistency check run.
