XML Import dialog box (AddOn Configuration tab)
The XML Import dialog box lets you define custom components for automatic object
store population. For details on how to complete each field displayed on this
screen, see the following:
- Name
- Enter the name you want to assign to the component. This is a required field
and can contain up to 256 alphanumeric characters.
- Import File
- Click Browse to select the XML file you want
in the AddOn.
- Prerequisites (optional)
- Select from the drop-down box the component you want installed immediately
prior to installing this one. The prerequisite determines the order in which
the user-defined components are installed during object store creation.
NOTE
More than one component can have the same prerequisite.
- AddOn type - Recommended or Optional
- Select whether the AddOn's installation should be considered Recommended
(and therefore selected by default) or Optional
(unselected by default) by the Object Store Wizard's Advanced page.
-
- In general, you should specify as optional those feature AddOns that are
not required for your system or that deal with specialized, niche functionality.
A recommended AddOn is one that is typically installed as part of most systems,
but one that could be eliminated if a user does not need that functionality
on a particular system. As an example, you can specify the publishing AddOn
type as recommended so that a user who has no need of publishing functions
can exclude that particular AddOn when creating a new object store. Note,
however, that some AddOns may be required by other components of the FileNet
P8 system and should not be excluded.
- Scripts
- (Optional) Specify any pre-import and post-import scripts, that is scripts
that should run as part of this AddOn before or after the XML file named in
the Import File box.
NOTE This
feature currently supports only the JScript and VBScript engines
