View step assignments and milestones

If the workflow definition specifies field value assignments or milestones either before or after the selected step, you can view those items on the Assignments tab on the Properties pane. You cannot change the information.

Assignments

The workflow definition can assign a value to a data field at a specific point in the workflow—either before a step or after a step is completed. Assignments can be made before and after General and Submap steps.

Milestones

A milestone is a key point in a workflow that facilitates monitoring the progress of the workflow. When the running workflow reaches a milestone, an author-specified message is written to a log file and, depending on its assigned level (1 to 99), the milestone displays for workflow participants, trackers, and the user who launched the workflow. See About milestones for additional information about where milestones display.

Each milestone can be used in one or more steps. You can place a milestone either before or after a General step, or after the Launch step. The status message can be either specific text, or it can include the values of one or more data fields.

To view assignments or milestones in Process Tracker

  1. Select the step.
  2. On the Properties pane, select the Assignments tab.
  3. Click Before Execution and After Completion to see the specified items.
