Enable and disable trace logging

Trace logs are based on either the site, or the domain. To access the Trace Log components, use either access method:

You can enable or disable all available trace logging components either collectively or independently. Setting trace log for a site affects only the components of that site.

To enable or disable components for trace logging, perform the following procedure.

  1. Open the Trace Control tab from one of the entry points.
  2. Click Enable Trace Logging or Disable Trace Logging from the Trace Control tab.
  3. After enabling trace logging, select the desired components individually, or use the Set/Clear All Flags checkbox to select all components.

To enable or disable a specific component for trace logging, perform the following procedure.

  1. Right-click on the component's Trace Logging node and select Properties from the context menu.
  2. Click Enable Trace Logging and ensure that the Override inherited settings box is selected.

NOTE   The Override inherited settings box appears only if you access the Trace Logging tab through the Site entry point.

  1. Click Override (if necessary), then select the corresponding checkbox for each subsystem to enable or disable individually, or use the Set/Clear All Flags checkbox to select all components.
