Select the size parameters of the content cache area
Select the maximum size parameters you want to assign to the content cache area. These limits indicate thresholds at which Content Engine should
start removing document copies from cache to make room for new content. It also identifies the delete method for removing content.
- Directory Structure
- Select Small or Large from the drop down box. This setting cannot be changed after the content cache is created.
- Small structures consist of two levels of directories, each with 23 nodes at each level (total of 529 directories at the 2nd level). Directories are named 'S0' through 'S22'. Content is stored only at the 2nd level, never in the first level directories.
- Large structures extend the small structure with a third level of 23 nodes, for a total of 12,167 directories at the 3rd level. Content is stored only at the 3rd level.
-
- Maximum Size
- Identifies how much space to reserve for content cache. This setting marks the maximum combined size of all content elements in the cache. For example, if maximum size is set to 5000, the content cache will not accept new content elements until the total size has been reduced below this maximum level through normal pruning.
By default, this is set to 5000.
To change the existing size, type in the desired value in kilobytes.
- Maximum Number of Elements
- Identifies the maximum number of content elements allowed in content cache. For example, if maximum size is set to 2500, the content cache will not accept new content elements until the total number of content elements has been reduced below this maximum level through normal pruning.
By default, this is set to 2500. To
change the current setting, type in the desired number of files you want
allowed in the content cache area.
