FileNet P8 domain properties (Trace Control tab)

The Trace Control tab provides trace logging configuration information about FileNet P8 domain objects.

Configuration Source
Indicates the scope level (domain object) for which these configuration parameters apply. This field might also indicate whether or not the current trace control information is inherited from another object or is local settings for this object.
Disable/Enable Trace Logging
Click this button to toggle the current state of trace logging for the Configuration Source object. When trace logging is disabled, all configuring objects (Subsystems and Trace Flag list boxes, Default, and Copy Values buttons) are also disabled.
Log File Output Location
Use this box to specify an alternate path for the output of this trace log only. The log file location will then revert to the default log file output location.
Select the subsystem to configure
Use this list box to select the subsystem to configure. Changes to trace flags only affect that selected subsystem. Selecting/clearing the check boxes in the Set/Clear All Flags column will set/clear all flags associated with the selected subsystem and is reflected in the Trace Flags list box described below. When trace control configuration is inherited or copied from another object, the Subsystem list box is disabled and grayed out.

With the Flags list box (below the Subsystem list box), you can configure each trace flag for a selected subsystem. Selecting/clearing all trace flags will select/clear the checkbox associated with the selected subsystem in the Subsystems list box. Any other combination of selected and cleared trace flags results in the check box associated with the current subsystem being grayed out in the Subsystems list box. When trace control configuration is inherited or copied from another object, the Trace Flags list box is disabled and grayed out.

Override inherited settings
This checkbox displays for Virtual Server and Server Instance notes only. If available, select the checkbox to override the trace control configuration settings that are inherited from a parent object. If the settings are inherited (as also indicated by the Configuration Source field), the subsystem settings are disabled and grayed out until you check the Override inherited settings checkbox.
Default
Click Default to apply the default trace control configuration settings stored on the domain object to the current object. Default configuration information is applied to all subsystems. The Default button remains disabled and grayed out until the user selects the Override inherited settings check box.
Copy Values
Click Copy Values to open a dialog box and select an object from which to copy trace control configuration settings. The Copy Values button remains disabled and grayed out until the user selects the Override inherited settings check box.
