Rename properties

You can change the name of both property templates and class properties on a property sheet or on a context menu. If you rename a property template, the name change will propagate to class properties created from that template.

NOTE  Only the name and description attributes propagate from a property template to already-assigned class properties.

The property name must be unique within the object store and must be less than 64 characters long.

NOTE  Do not use spaces or numbers at the beginning of Content Engine object names. Spaces are dropped off. Leading numbers look correct in display names, but are dropped in the symbolic name which is used in queries.

CAUTION  When you rename a class, you change the value of the Display Name property which causes the value of the Name property to also be updated. However, changing the value of the Display Name property does not automatically change the value of the Symbolic Name property. For more information, see About name properties.
