A document can be filed in one or more folders. Unfiling a document from a folder removes the reference to the document from that folder. The document itself is not deleted.
A document that is not filed in any folder is stored in Enterprise Manager's Unfiled Documents node. The Unfiled Documents node is not a child folder of the Root Folder, and therefore is not displayed by applications such as Workplace. To configure the number of documents displayed in the Unfiled Documents node or any folder, you must set the MaxObjectsDisplayed registry key. See Limit objects displayed for more information.
You can unfile a document from a folder only if the folder grants unfile access. "Unfile from folder" is an access right available in each folder's Security tab. The default settings for this access right are inherited from the parent Folder class' Default Instance Security access list.
