Create publish templates

Use Workplace to create publish templates. For more information on creating publish templates, see the Publishing Designer help located at FileNet P8 Documentation > User Help > Actions, preferences and tools > Tools > Publishing Designer.

Before you create a publishing template, you have to create folders for use by the template.

To create folders to be used by publish templates

To create a publish template

  1. Sign in to Workplace as an IBM FileNet P8 domain administrator.
  2. Select Author, and then select Advanced Tools.
  3. Click Publishing Designer. At the Security dialog, choose Always.

    NOTE This dialog only displays the first time you click Publishing Designer.

  4. From the Object Store to host publish operation using this template box, select the Publishing Object Store (or other object store to be use for publishing).
  5. From the Destination Folder object, click Browse, select the Published\PDF subfolder, and then click Select.
  6. Under Optional Settings, select Use a Style Template to transform the content, select Default PDF Style Template, and then click OK.

    NOTE Depending on the style template you choose, you can come back and create the other template after you finish the following procedures.

  7. Click Add New.
  8. Click Browse and navigate to the published document Templates folder.
  9. Click Select, and then click Next.
  10. Enter Publish Template Properties (Document Title and Description) and click Next.
  11. Verify the Security Settings and click Finish.
  12. Perform Step 4 through Step 11 for the HTML Publish Template.

    NOTE In Step 5 and Step 6, be sure to browse to the Published\HTML subfolder and select the Default HTML Style Template.

  13. From the Publishing Designer, open the File menu, and then click Exit.
  14. Close your browser window.
