Change default site

When Content Engine is first installed, the domain node contains one site named "Initial Site", and it is set as the default site for that domain. The default site contains associated resources such virtual servers, index areas, and object stores; and any new resources added to the domain (for example, content cache areas) will be referenced from the default site. Enterprise Manager appends the string "[Default]" to the site name indicating that it is the default site. Note that there can only be one default site in the domain.

You change the default site using Enterprise Manager, and any new resources added to the domain will then be referenced from this new default site. The original default site's name will change (the appended string is removed) to reflect that it is no longer the default site.

If more than one site is available in the domain, you can associate resources with which site is appropriate during creation of the resource.

To change the default site using Enterprise Manager

  1. Right-click on the site you wish to become the default site.
  2. Select Set Site to Default Site in the context menu that appears.
