Modify a lifecycle action

You can modify a lifecycle action at any time. The revised action becomes effective immediately. You do not have to refresh the object store or modify the lifecycle policy to make a revised action apply the next time an associated document changes states.

For example, assume you create a lifecycle action and assign it to a policy. If you test the lifecycle policy on a document (by changing its states) and discover errors in the script, you can simply edit the lifecycle action. The next time you change the state on the document, the updated action takes effect.

To modify a lifecycle action

  1. In the tree view, expand Object Stores > object store name > Document Lifecycles.
  2. Select Document Lifecycles Actions to display all defined lifecycle actions in the details pane.
  3. In the details pane, right-click the lifecycle action you want to modify and select Properties from the context menu.
  4. In the Type tab, make any desired changes. For example, to correct a script error, type your corrections in the script window.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.
