HTML and PDF Publishing

The Publishing Handler is a component of the Enterprise Manager and uses the publishing framework to produce HTML and PDF files. The Publishing Handler is configured with object stores and style templates. The Publishing style templates determine how a source document will be reformatted. The Publishing Handler uses style templates created specifically for PDF and HTML documents.

The Publishing Handler uses a Rendition Engine to generate HTML and PDF files from a variety of document types. See the Supported Gold List topic for supported program and file types. It provides the capability to render HTML and PDF files from a set of ordered documents of different types.

Two types of Rendition Engine Connections are supported by P8, the standard Rendition Engine Connection used for the Liquent Rendering Engine and the DITA Rendition Engine Connection used for the DITA Open Toolkit Rendition Engine.

Both HTML and PDF publishing provide the capability to render an HTML or PDF file from a set of ordered documents of different types. In addition, both also use style template properties that correspond to the features of a third-party product.

HTML Publishing

The HTML publishing is managed by the Publishing Style Template Manager application, is where style templates are created and edited. You use the Publishing Queue to monitor your publishing requests.
