Enterprise-wide recovery

The following topics present an overview of a complete recovery of the IBM FileNet P8 platform using your latest enterprise backup. Note that only by restoring all pieces of the backup can you ensure complete consistency in the restored system.

If for some reason you do not want to restore the entire system, see Process-related recovery options or Content-related recovery options.

To restore IBM FileNet P8 from an enterprise backup

  1. If necessary, restore any P8 component servers.
    1. Reinstall the P8 component software as needed, including all fix packs. To view or download available fix packs, navigate to the Information Management support page (www.ibm.com/software/data/support) and select the appropriate IBM FileNet product from the "Select a catagory" list.
    2. Reconfigure the software or restore the appropriate configuration files from backup. See each component's topic in the Server configuration backup section for details.
  2. Restore each of the following from your enterprise backup. You can restore the backups concurrently, or in any order.
  3. Restart the P8 servers.
