Validation Errors

The Validate Storage Areas dialog lists the number of errors the Content Consistency Checker encountered. The Content Consistency Checker categorizes the file with the error type.

The Validation Reports dialog allows you to view individual errors and error details.

The following topics describe each of the error types, along with possible resolutions:

Missing File
Lists all missing files. A file is marked missing due to one of two conditions:
Bad Size
The file size is never wrong under normal conditions. This error indicates that either the object store or the storage area contains the wrong size for the file. The incorrect size can result if, for example, the file in the storage area is either an old version or has been corrupted or overwritten by another file.

Examine the document content and restore the proper file if possible.

Can't Validate
Lists all files with unidentified errors that prevented validation. These errors are rare.
Unreachable Area
Lists files the utility couldn't locate. This could occur when the files are stored on a remote system and the network was down. After you re-establish your network connection, run the Content Consistency Checker again to see if these errors go away.
Access Denied
Lists files for which you did not have read permission. To run the Content Consistency Checker, you must have a user login with read permissions for all documents within the file stores you are checking. You should meet this requirement if you are a member of one of the object store administrative groups.
Fixed Storage Area
Lists files stored in a fixed storage area and their associated error status. The Error Status Legend describes the errors encountered, and lists ways you can correct them.
Unknown Errors
Lists all files with unknown errors that do not fall in any other category.
