PLANNING

Apply your organization's needs for content information to document class features and design. Determine which users and groups will have access and the levels of access these users and groups will have. Create these users/groups in your authentication provider (Directory Server) if they don't yet exist.

Based on estimate of additional throughput from the new documents that will be assigned to the new document class, decide whether additional disk space is needed.

Plan the document class' security, default instance security, and reservation security.

Document access rights

Plan and create any document lifecycle policies that the class will assign to the documents based on it.

Document lifecycles

Plan and create any properties the class will need.

Properties

Plan and create the events and subscriptions the class will need.

Event actions and subscriptions

If the document class is going to be automatically assigned, plan and create the automatic classification environment to carry this out.

Automatic document classification

TECHNICAL DESIGN/INSTALL

Plan and implement new file server if required by expected volume and storage throughput created by documents being assigned to the new document class.

Create the document class.
