Security
This topic does not apply to the DITA Rendition Engine.
You can configure security to set passwords
for published PDF files.
To configure security
- Determine the passwords you want to set. Do one of the following:
- Select Change Password Required to Open Document if you want to restrict user access when opening a specific PDF document. Users are prompted to enter the password you specify here.
- Select Change Password Required to Change Permission and Passwords if you want to allow users to set or change permissions or passwords.
NOTE When you open this dialog, it will default to all toggles disabled and password fields cleared. FileNet P8 does not support retrieving password values, so you cannot determine whether a password has been set simply by opening up this dialog. When you enable a toggle, the associated password values are set when the style template changes are applied. To clear a password you enable the associated toggle and clear the password field value. The "Clear All" button enables the password toggles and clears the password field values.
- Enter the appropriate passwords.
NOTE A password must contain no less than six and no more than 32 characters. The user and master passwords cannot be the same.
- Under Permissions, select options of which you want to restrict user access.
- Select No Printing to prevent users from printing the file.
- Select No Changing the Document to prevent users from creating form fields as well as making any other changes.
- Select No Content Copying or Extraction, Disable Accessibility to prevent users from copying text and graphics, and disabling the accessibility interface.
- Select No Adding or Changing Comments or Form Fields to prevent users from adding or changing these areas. But users can fill in the fields.
