This topic describes guest accounts for P8 Workplace applications and requirements for accessing advanced and administrative features.
A guest account allows users, without a user name and password, to access objects in an object store. A guest does not see task or administrative applications, and can access only those objects that have the security permissions set to allow guest access. To set up a guest account, set the Site Preference Allow Guests.
To use any Workplace feature or tool, a user must have access rights to the object store where the site preferences file resides. In addition, default access roles control access to administrative functions and to specific workflow-related tools. Before users can access the associated tools, you must add users to the access roles using the Access roles site preference. For a complete list of access roles and groups, see Users and groups required by FileNet P8 Platform.
The following table lists each Workplace tool and its associated access role or group.
