Configure Process Engine general properties

Use the General tab to configure general properties for Process Engine (PE).

The General tab includes these fields:

Name Description

Process Engine Communication Port

The TCP port used by the PE API to communicate with the PE server. The default is 32776.

The port you enter here must match the port specified for the connection point(s) defined for this PE server.

Process Engine Broker Port

The port used to communicate to the PE server. The default is 32777.

Date/Time Mask

Specifies the format used for string representations of date and time data. If the Date/Time Mask setting is not specified, PE uses the format specified for the server operating system. The default Date/Time Mask is mm/dd/yyyy hh:tt:ss.

Refer to Guidelines for Date/Time Mask entries for component definitions.

Default Locale

Specifies the default locale for the PE system. The Default Locale is used for the following:

  • The source locale used when exporting localizable authored names to an XLIFF 1.1 file. See About XLIFF for additional information about the file contents and instructions for deploying the file.
  • The default language for email notification of workflow activity. A user can override this default by selecting a preferred locale in his Workplace or Workplace XT preferences. See Enable email notification for an overview of enabling email notification for your PE system.
Full Workflow Functionality

Indicates whether full workflow functionality is enabled, which determines the availability of various Process Designer features. Check this option if you are installing or upgrading your FileNet software to include full workflow functionality, per your license agreement.

Checking this option enables the following functionality in Process Designer:

  • Web Services steps and functionality
  • Submap steps and map creation functionality
  • General, system, and component steps
  • Milestones
  • Rules

NOTE  Unchecking this option only limits the creation of new workflows — you can still edit, transfer, and run existing workflows containing full workflow functionality.
