Set/Remove Indexing

Use the Set/Remove Indexing dialog box to set indexing options for the class property displayed in the Class property definitions (General tab).

Remove
Choosing Remove means that you cannot use that property as an index property.
Set
Click Set to use that property as an index property, and choose Single Indexed or Full Text Indexed. Single indexes are database indexes stored within the object store database. For properties that users frequently search, single indexes reduce the amount of time Content Engine takes to process queries on this property. Full text indexes are used for content-based retrieval (CBR). These indexes enable users to search string-valued properties based on content. You can enable CBR for user-defined string-valued properties in document and annotation classes only.
Affected Classes
Lists which subclasses will be affected by removing the indexing on this property.

IMPORTANT For a large object store with a large number of rows in a table, creating an index may take so long that it exceeds the DTC timeout and might result in an exception.
