Manage the workflow collection in Diagram mode

To support Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), Process Designer can open files in XPDL 2.0 format that contain a collection of one or more workflow definitions.

Single workflow definition

When a workflow collection contains one workflow definition, the name of this workflow definition is listed in the Workflow Definition tab. It is identified as the main workflow. When you save this workflow definition (Action > Save Workflow to Local or Save Workflow to Repository), it is saved in the native format for Process Designer—PEP file. All of the functionality for working with a PEP file in Process Designer is exactly the same as in previous versions of Process Designer.

Multiple workflow definitions

If you open an XPDL 2.0 file that was created by a BPMN modeling application, or you want to create multiple workflow definitions in the same file, use the Workflow Definition tabs to select an individual workflow definition to modify, create new workflows in the collection, or add a saved PEP file into the collection. You can also save one of the workflow definitions in the collection as a PEP file, and transfer one or more of the workflow definitions to Process Engine (PE). When you save a document with multiple workflow definitions (File > Save or File >FileNet > FileNet Add/Checkin), the document will be saved in XPDL 2.0 format.
