Start FileNet Deployment Manager

You can start the FileNet Deployment Manager user interface from the desktop shortcut, the Start menu, or the Run command.

NOTE When you start FileNet Deployment Manager, you might be prompted to create or select a deployment tree. For more information, see Create or select a deployment tree.

Before you start FileNet Deployment Manager:

FileNet Deployment Manager creates a log file in the directory in which the tool is installed. To avoid errors, ensure that you have write access to this directory before you use FileNet Deployment Manager.

By default, FileNet Deployment Manager is installed in C:\Program Files\FileNet\ContentEngine\tools\deploy.

To start FileNet Deployment Manager from a desktop shortcut:

Double-click the shortcut icon, located on your desktop:

To start FileNet Deployment Manager from the Start menu:

Click Start and select Programs > FileNet P8 Platform > FileNet Deployment Manager.

To start FileNet Deployment Manager from the Run command:

  1. Click Start > Run.
  2. Click Browse and navigate to the directory in which FileNet Deployment Manager is installed.
  3. By default, the installation program installs FileNet Deployment Manager in the following directory:

    C:\Program Files\FileNet\ContentEngine\tools\deploy
  4. Select launcher.exe, and then click Open.
  5. In the Open field, type -g after the file name. If FileNet Deployment Manager is installed in the default location, the text in the Open field should be as follows:

    "C:\Program Files\FileNet\ContentEngine\tools\deploy\launcher.exe" -g
  6. Click OK.
