The vwtool utility is a Process Engine server-based, command line-driven system support and administration program you can use to analyze and modify various components.
The vwtool utility runs on any Process Engine (PE) server. In a farmed PE system, you can run vwtool on any server and access the database from all servers. Within a PE system, vwtool accesses one isolated region at a time. Most of the information vwtool returns is isolated region-specific, though some commands return PE-wide or local server-specific information (the descriptions of these commands include their scope).
CAUTION The vwtool utility is a powerful tool that requires careful and informed use. Misuse of vwtool can lead to work item corruption, compromised data integrity, or loss of data.
