Before you configure an object store for content-based retrieval (CBR) you should complete a few preliminary steps. Some of these steps are optional and depend on the types of searches users will perform on an object store and the amount of activity you anticipate on an object store. Some of the steps are performed with Verity provided tools. Refer to the Verity documentation for more information.
Every administration, broker, and search server must be attached to the ticket server, but the index server does not need to be attached to the ticket server, because the ticket server attached to the Verity administration server is used instead. The brokers and search servers can be attached to a ticket server via the Manage K2 Broker/K2 Server Security link. The administration server is attached via the Manage Administration Security link.
Note that you can set up multiple administration servers, attach different ticket servers to each administration server, and specify different administration servers in the Verity Server Configuration dialog box's Verity Admin Server Hostname property. Doing so distributes authentication operations across multiple Verity servers during indexing operations.
The Verity Domain Configuration UserName value is set to a non-null value if ticket servers are used to secure the Verity full text indexing information, and is left as null for non-secure access.
