Configure auditing

To configure a new class for auditing

  1. Launch the Create a Class wizard.
  2. On the Configure Auditing page, specify the events to be audited.
  3. Select Apply to Subclasses if you want audit definitions to be inherited by subclasses.
  4. Complete the wizard.

Any future instances of the class will contain the audit definitions that you specified in the class.

To configure or modify an existing class for auditing

  1. Right-click the class and select Properties.
  2. Select the Audit Definitions tab and add, remove, or modify the audit events as necessary.
  3. Select Apply to Subclasses if you want audit definitions to be inherited by subclasses.
  4. Click OK.

The audit history of new and existing instances of the class will be updated with the configured audit event logs as they occur. The audit history of existing instances will not be updated retroactively with data about audit events that occurred prior to the class being configured for auditing

See Create a Class and Audit Definitions for more information.
