Setting up a distributed file system (DFS) link as a shared folder makes the link available for use when you specify a local file storage area folder during creation.
NOTE DFS is supported if you are using it to manage a file storage area; however, the replication feature of DFS is not supported.
CAUTION Take care when implementing DFS links to shared folders on remote servers. Make sure that anyone who might create a file storage area using a DFS link to a shared folder on a remote server knows where the shared folder is physically located.
