History view events

The events available for searching and display in History view on the Information page depend on the type of object selected and the Audit Logging settings for the object class. Your site administrator determines which events are logged for each class. Events are triggered as objects are created, revised, viewed, moved, or deleted. Events can be triggered by users or by other applications.

The list below includes typical common events.

Cancel Checkout

A cancel checkout event is triggered when a user cancels the checkout of a document.

Change Class Event

A change class event is triggered when a user changes the class of the object. For example, the user can change class when checking in a document.

Change State Event

Documents

A change state event is triggered when the state of the document changes, such as on a promote or demote version.

Check In

Documents

The Checkin event is triggered when a document is initially added and on subsequent checkins.

Check Out

Documents

The Checkout event is triggered when a document is checked out.

Classify Complete

Documents

The Classify Complete event is triggered when a document is added using an entry template with the Auto-Classify option set.

Create

A create event is triggered when a user adds an item to the object store or when a user checks in a document.

Delete

Documents

The Delete event is triggered when a user deletes a document or a version of a document or cancels the checkout of a document.

You need to select the Include all Versions check box to see the Delete events.

Demote Version

Documents

The Demote Version event is triggered when a document version is demoted.

File

Documents, custom objects, and folders

The File event is triggered when a document, custom object, or subfolder is added to the folder.

Freeze

Documents The Freeze event is triggered when an administrator or application freezes the custom properties of a specific document version.
Get Object

Documents

Records Manager event. Do not enable.
Get Content

Documents

A Get Content event is triggered when a user downloads or views the content of a document.

Change Class

A Change Class event is triggered when a user changes the class of an item; for example, when checking in a new version of a document.

Lock

A Lock event is triggered when an item is locked for use by a custom application.

Promote Version

Documents

The Promote Version event is triggered when a document version is promoted to a released version. The document can be promoted to a released version during the initial add, during a checkin, or from the Information page.

Unfile Event

Folders

An Unfile event is triggered when an item is moved from or unfiled from a folder of a specific class.

Unlock

An Unlock event is triggered when an item is unlocked by a custom application.

Update

Documents, custom objects, and folders

An Update event is triggered when any property value is changed.

From the History view page, you can click Get Info for a specific event to view the properties that were modified.

Update Security Event

Documents, custom objects, and folders

An Updated Security event is triggered when a user changes the security of the object. Security for a document can be changed during an add, during a checkin, during the promotion of a version, or from the Information page.
