Select Property

Use this page to specify the properties you want to insert into an Office application document. You can only select one property at a time.

 To select a property to insert into your Office application

  1. Check out and open an Office document.
  2. Move your cursor to the location to which you want to insert a property.
  3. From your application's Insert menu, click FileNet P8, and then point to Insert Property.
  4. Select a property value you want to insert into your Office document.

    TIP Click Show System Properties to view and select System Properties.

  5. Click Accept to complete the task or click Close to cancel.

Update Properties

If the properties inserted in your document are updated at a later time in the object store, you can use the Refresh Properties option to avoid having out of date properties in your document.

To update properties

  1. Check out and open the Office document that contains the properties you want to update.
  2. From your application's Insert menu, click FileNet P8, and then point to Refresh Properties. In the Inserted Properties page, you see a list of inserted properties with current values, inserted values, and location of the property.
  3. Select the check box beside the properties you want to update. Every instance of the property is updated in the document.
  4. Click Accept to complete the task or click Close to cancel.

Delete Properties

To delete properties

  1. Check out and open the Office document that contains the properties you want to delete.
  2. From your application's Insert menu, click FileNet P8, and then point to Delete Properties.
  3. In the Inserted Properties page, select the properties you want to delete. Every instance of the property is deleted from the document. It is also removed from the list of properties on the Inserted Properties page.
  4. Click Accept to complete the task or click Close to cancel.
