To configure isolated regions, work queues, rosters, and other region settings, you need access to the workflow configuration. Process Configuration Console provides an interface for making the configuration changes, or you might use a custom program to make configuration changes.
You must log on as a member of the Process Engine Configuration Group or the Process Engine Administrator Group in order to modify the workflow configuration using Process Configuration Console or any related APIs. See Users and groups required by FileNet P8 Platform in the FileNet P8 online Help (System Administration > Enterprise-wide Administration > FileNet P8 Security > Users and groups).
NOTE If the Process Engine Configuration Group does not exist, any user who can log on to Workplace or Workplace XT can modify the workflow configuration.
Your client interface determines the logon requirements.
To see the link to Process Configuration Console in the list of Admin tools, you must be a member of the PWConfiguration access role. See Access Roles preferences in the FileNet P8 online Help (User help > Actions, preferences, and tools > Site preferences > Access roles preferences).
If the PWConfiguration group exists, you must log on as a member of that group or the SysAdminG group in order to run Process Configuration Console. Otherwise, if the PWConfiguration group does not exist, any user who can log on can run Process Configuration Console.
