Concepts: define the deployment environment
This section describes how to define the deployment environment for an application. This environment consists of the following elements:
-
Source environment definition: Identifies the object stores from which objects are exported for deployment and the users or groups that have access to the objects that are being deployed.
- Destination environment definition: Identifies the object stores, users, and groups available in the environment to which the objects are to be deployed.
- Source-destination pair: Identifies the source and destination environments for a specific deployment and maps the corresponding object stores and principals.
For an overview of the tasks you must perform to define the deployment environment, see Checklist: environment definition.
