FileNet Deployment Manager provides a set of sample files that are populated with the configuration, object store, and principal data required to deploy an application. You can use the samples as models for manually creating and editing these files.
The sample files also include the examples of the DeploymentOperation.xml files that record the operations you perform. You can use these files with the command-line interface to automate deployment. For more information, see Deployment command-line reference.
To create the sample files, select Create Sample Files from the Deployment menu. FileNet Deployment Manager places the generated files in the Samples folder of the deployment tree.
NOTE If you create the sample files using the command-line interface, the files are placed in a Samples folder in the current working directory.
For information about the structure of the sample files, see Deployment file formats.
NOTE Ensure that the Samples folder is empty before creating the sample files. FileNet Deployment Manager returns an error if the folder is not empty.
