Define custom object folder filter criteria (Workplace)
The Folder Filter user preference settings determine the default criteria
displayed when folder filtering is enabled.You can define both simple
and advanced criteria for each object store. You define separate filter
criteria for custom objects and documents. To use these Folder Filter settings, you must also choose to display the folder filtering criteria in the General Settings of the General user preferences view.
To define custom object filtering criteria
- From any page in Workplace, click Preferences
in the upper right corner.
- In the User Preferences page, click Folder
Filter from the list of views.
- If custom objects are enabled, select Custom
Object from the list of views. If custom objects are not enabled,
then this view link is not displayed, and you can only filter documents.
- Select an object store to search.
- If you have not defined any filter criteria, a list of object stores
is displayed. Click an object store name to select it. The filter
will only be applied to the selected object store. The Simple
Criteria Settings and Advanced Criteria
Settings are displayed after you select an object store.
- If you want to change the selected object store, click Object
Stores in the Path. A list of object stores is displayed. Click
an object store name to select it.
- Select the appropriate Simple Criteria Settings.
- Select a property to filter the returned objects against.
- Select an operator.
- Select the appropriate Advanced Criteria
Settings. You can filter on up to 5 properties.
- Set the property criteria for up to 5 properties.
- Select the desired Property Name from the drop-down list.
- Select the desired Operator for the property criteria.
- Select either AND or OR to specify the relationship between the current property and the next. For example, if both the first and the second property must be true, select AND for the first property.
- Select a property to use for sorting the items returned. Click the radio button in the Sort on column for the desired property.
- If needed, select the Default Filter Class.
If you do not select a class, then the base Custom Object class is
used.
- Set Show Filter Class to Show if you want to select a class on the Search page. Otherwise, you can just select a default you always want to use in the next step.
- Click Select Class. The Select
Class page opens.
- Select a class name, expanding items in the tree as necessary (by clicking the + sign).
The class name is added to this field.
- To include subclasses, select the Include subclasses check box.
- If you need to remove the selected class, click Clear Class. If you need to select a different class, click Select Class again.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- Click Exit to close the User
Preferences page.
