Associate a response with a route
In many workflows, the response the participant selects determines the subsequent route that the
workflow follows. See About routing for further information.
To specify the routing based on responses
- Check that the responses are defined in the step where the route originates. To define responses, see Specify responses. Responses can
exist only in activity steps.
- Select the route to the appropriate destination step.
- On the Properties pane, under Conditional Routing, click Condition.
- On the Responses tab, select the appropriate response for the
route.
- Specify how this response will be evaluated.
Note that in a multi-participant step, all the participants must complete
the step before any responses are evaluated.
- Any: In a multi-participant step, the condition is true if
any participant selects this response. For a single participant step, you can choose either
Any or All; the result is the same.
- All: The condition is true if all participants select this
response.
- None: The condition is true if no participant selects this
response.
- Count: Specify the operator and the value required for the
condition to be true. For example, =8 means the condition is true if eight participants select
the response.
- Click Insert to apply this condition to the route.
You can add more conditions to the expression by clicking the AND or OR buttons, then specifying
expressions using data fields or system fields. See Routing expression example.
