Rename document

You can change the document's display name, which is the value that Enterprise Manager uses when displaying the document. This name is actually applied to the object that represents the document object in this particular folder.

Or you can change the value of the document object's Document Title property, which is the value that the document's property sheets displays.

To rename a document display name using Enterprise Manager's Rename command

  1. Right-click the document and select Rename. (Or, you can select the document and press F2.)
  2. Type the new name and press Enter.

NOTE  Renaming a document in this way changes the name of the referential containment relationship object that represents the document in this particular folder. This kind of renaming is not the same as editing the Document Title property, which you can do in the Document properties (General tab). See About name properties for more information.

To change a document's Document Title using the General tab of its property sheet

  1. Right-click the document and select Properties.
  2. Select the General tab. Place the cursor in the name field at the top, edit the existing value, and click OK.
