Object store (General tab)
The General tab on the object store's
property sheet describes the basic properties of an object store.
- Name
- The object store name can contain any 64 characters (upper or lower case
letters, numbers, spaces, and symbols). The Object Store Wizard ensures that
the name will be unique to the FileNet P8 domain.
- Symbolic Name
- The symbolic name can be used as a programmatic identifier. The symbolic
name is created by the Object Store Wizard, using the value of the Name and
removing any spaces and ensuring that the first character is alpha (the rest
of the name can be alphanumeric). You can change the Symbolic Name, but you
will also have to change any code that is using this value. The Symbolic Name
must be unique to the FileNet P8 domain.
- Description
- Use the description to add any needed or useful information. Maximum length
is 255 characters.
- ID
- The Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) of the object store. Each object has
a universally unique ID that is assigned by the system and cannot be changed.
- Domain
- The FileNet P8 domain where the
object store resides.
- Content Access Recording Level
- Sets an object-store wide default for how the Date Content Last Accessed
property will be recorded. See Select property descriptions for information.
- Full Text Enabled?
- If selected, the user can perform a text-based query based on properties
rather than a content-based search. This property is read-only. See Configure
document and annotation properties for CBR to change
this setting.
- Auditing Enabled?
- Select to enable (or clear to disable) auditing for the object store. Auditing
must be configured separately. See Configure auditing for more information.
- Default Checkout Type
- Sets a default value for the entire object store for how checkouts will
be marked if the application enabling the checkout does not specify the checkout
type:
- A collaborative checkout means that any user with sufficient permissions,
as defined on the document's ACL, can check the document back in.
- An exclusive checkout means that only the user who did the checkout
can check it back in, regardless of who is granted this permission
on the document's ACL.
See Versioning
properties for more information.
