Concepts: Enterprise Manager
Enterprise Manager's graphical user interface is the primary tool for administering Content Engine. It provides access to most of Content Engine's
administrative functionality. With Enterprise Manager, you can:
- Lists all sites, virtual servers, object stores, and other resources that have been created for the single FileNet
P8 domain in which it has been installed. See Administering
multiple FileNet P8 domains for more information.
- Display objects required by and created in applications such as Workplace, Application Integration, and custom applications created using
FileNet P8 APIs.
- Run wizards that perform common administrative tasks like creating object stores and file
storage areas. See Use Content Engine wizards for more information.
- Configure the
location and provide access to the FileNet P8 documentation website.
- Display and edit the property sheets for object stores, file storage areas,
documents, folders, workflows, and other objects.
- Display and edit the security
settings for all securable objects. See Enterprise Manager security editor for more information.
To familiarize yourself with Enterprise Manager (after you
have completed initial installation and have created at least one object store),
you should browse through the domain tree node by node and examine each object's pop-up menus and property
sheets. Click on the Help button or pop-up menu to read about the particular feature.
Note that Enterprise Manager is a Microsoft
Management Console (MMC) based tool. See MMC interface for more information.
