Edit portlet settings

You must customize each portlet in a site My Workplace page. For example, you can set the number of items to display for Browse, My Inbox, My Active Workflows, and Public Inbox. Each portlet is configured separately, so you can adjust the display to match the way your end users most often work. For example, you can display ten items in Browse and only five items in My Active Workflows.

Some of the portlets must be configured before anything is displayed. For example, you must select a public inbox for Public Inbox before items can be displayed. If the portlet needs to be configured, a message is displayed.

The administrator must configure the site pages. End users can create and modify their own personal My Workplace pages. For more information, see Work with My Workplace.

To edit a portlet's configuration

  1. From the Pages view of My Workplace in Site Preferences, click Preview and Setup beneath the name of the appropriate page.
  2. Click Edit in the portlet toolbar to edit the settings for a specific portlet.
  3. Modify the settings as needed. The available settings depend on the type of portlet.
  4. Save your changes and close the Preview and Setup page.
  5. When modifying a page, click Apply before exiting Site Preferences. (If you modified a page by adding portlets, they do not appear in the preview until you apply the modification.)
