BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere Business Monitor backup and restore
Use the following procedures to back up and restore the BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere.
Back up the BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere
- Stop the CBE Adaptor application through the administrative console.
- Back up the CBE Adaptor database using the DB2 Control Center.
- Back up the WebSphere Business Monitor following the procedures provided by WebSphere.
- Restart the CBE Adaptor.
Restore the BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere from a backup
- Stop the CBE Adaptor application through the administrative console.
- Restore the WebSphere Business Monitor following the procedures provided by WebSphere.
- Restore the CBE Adaptor database using the DB2 Control Center.
- Restart the CBE Adaptor.
Process Engine Synchronization
To ensure proper synchronization between the BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere and the Process Engine, follow these rules.
- If Process Engine is restored, restore the BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere to a backup taken at the same time as or earlier than the Process Engine backup.
- When restoring the CBE Adaptor, it can only resynchronize with Process Engine as long as the Process Engine event logs have not been pruned since the date of the CBE Adaptor back up being used for restore.
Back up procedure when pruning Process Engine event logs
To ensure a recoverable BPM CBE Adaptor for WebSphere back up, perform the following back up procedure when pruning Process Engine events logs.
- Stop Process Engine and the CBE Adaptor.
- Back up the Process Engine database.
- Back up the CBE Adaptor following the instructions above. Do not restart the CBE Adaptor after the back up is complete.
- When the Process Engine backup is complete, restart the Process Engine software.
- Prune events from the Process Engine event log tables.
- Restart the CBE Adaptor.
