Assign users to workflow groups

A workflow group displayed on a work item page can be informational only or can allow you to specify which participants are assigned to the group. Check the instructions on the work item page for information about the workflow group. See About workflow participants for general information on participants and workflow groups.

If you are instructed to assign participants to a workflow group and you have write or read/write access to the group, use the following procedure.

To assign participants to a workflow group

  1. In the open work item, display the list of workflow groups.
  2. Select the workflow group name in the list.
  3. Click Assign.
  4. In the Participant Selection dialog box, select one or more participants to include in the workflow group. You can also delete participants from the group. See Participant selection for additional information.

TIP The list of users will be blank if no users have been assigned to the workflow group, or if you have Write access to that workflow group. Write access allows you to modify the list of users, but you cannot see the list.
