View workflow statistics

You can analyze and improve the performance of the workflows running on your system by examining statistical data generated by the system. See About workflow statistics for general information about statistics.

To view workflow statistics

  1. Set up a search for statistics with the following criteria.

    Criteria Value

    Look for:

    Statistics

    In:

    Workflow Rosters or Queues

For details about the statistics available, see Roster statistics or Queue statistics.

  2. On the Criteria tab, enter start and stop times to indicate the time period that Process Administrator uses to calculate event summation statistics (statistics that are based on the accumulation of events during a specified collection period) and sampling statistics (statistics that result from an averaging of samples taken at regular intervals during the collection period). Use a valid date/time format when entering a time.

If both the start and stop times are blank, or if the start and stop times are the same, Process Administrator calculates only current statistics (statistics that reflect the state of the running system at the time you request the information). If only one of the time fields is blank, Process Administrator assumes the current date and time for the blank field.

TIP To view examples of valid time formats, right-click on either time field and select Syntax Help from the menu.

  3. For Display statistics in: choose the unit of time you want Process Administrator to use when displaying time-related statistics.
  4. In the list of Available Rosters or Available Queues, select the rosters or queues to include in the statistics.
  5. To choose which statistics to display in the results, select the Results Options tab; and select the columns to include in the results pane. See Set the statistics results options for more information.

Process Administrator determines the default columns to display based on whether you enter an interval start or stop time. If you enter a start or stop time, Process Administrator displays all columns; if you do not enter a start or stop time, Process Administrator displays only the current statistics columns.

TIP Use New Search to reset the Criteria and Results Options tabs. The top portion of the search specification pane remains the same.

  6. Click Find Now.
