Your site administrator can define a property that is an object value property. The value for an object value property is a folder, document, or custom object located in an object store. Your site administrator defines which classes of objects can be assigned to a specific object value property. For example, an insurance claim document in the object store can be assigned as a property for a customer folder if your administrator properly defines the object value property for the folder's class to refer to the document's class.
You can view the object value property from the Information page or from the Set Properties page of the add or checkin wizard. You use the Select Object page to change or remove the object assigned to an object value property. You can change the assigned object without first removing the existing value. The object you select as the property value must be in the same object store as the object containing the object value property. In addition, the object you select must be of the object type and object class that were defined by your administrator for the object value property.
To change the object assigned to an object value property
TIP To view the class of the assigned object, click Get Info to the right of the property value to open the Information page. Make note of the object's class. After viewing the properties, click Exit.
TIP The Search page is the quickest way to locate appropriate objects. By default, Search locates only the objects that belong to the appropriate object store, object type, and object class that meet your other search requirements.
NOTE The object you select must be in the class defined for the object value property. If an error occurs, see your site administrator. You might have selected an object from the wrong class.
To remove an object assigned to an object value property
NOTE The Value field for a Link to Property is required. If you remove the object assigned to the Link to property, you must specify another object.
