Specify publish instructions
The instructions that you specify on the Publish Instructions tab are
applied to a publication document when a Workplace user publishes a document
using the template.
Complete the fields in this window in order, as later fields depend upon
earlier selections. Everything starts with selecting the appropriate object
store. Remember that the source documents, publish template, style template
and publication documents must all reside on the same object store.
If you want to start a new template after saving a previous one, click
the New button
to clear and reset fields.
To specify publish instructions
- Object Store to host publish operations using
this template Click the down arrowhead and select the object
store in which you want to save publication documents created with this
template. This is the same object store in which you will save this
publish template and which also contains the source documents and style
templates.
- Destination Folder. Click the Browse
button to the right of the field to display a list of folders at the
root level of the object store you selected.
- Navigate to the folder in which you want to place the publication
documents by selecting an item in the list and clicking the Open
button, or by double-clicking items in the list.
If you want to back up to a higher level, use the pull-down menu
in the Look in box or the Up One Level button.
You can also create a new folder for the publication documents using
the Add New Folder button (see
To add a new destination folder
below). For more information or different views, see Folder
views and information to the right.
- Click Select to select the highlighted
folder. The path to the folder appears in the Destination Folder field
on the Publish Instructions tab.
- Deleting source document automatically deletes
publication Check this box to delete the publication
document when the source document is deleted. If you do not check this
box, publication documents remain on the object store even though authors
have deleted the associated source documents.
NOTE To delete a published source
document, a Workplace user must have Owner Control of the source and
any publication documents deleted with it. If the user has insufficient
access rights for one or more of the deletions, the operation results
in an error and no deletions occur.
- Use a Style Template to transform the content
Check this box if you want the publication documents to be converted
to another format (only if a rendering engine is set up). See the Specify
style template procedure for more information. If you do not convert
the publication documents to another format, they will be published
in their native format.
- Invoke event action when publishing is complete
Check this box if you want an event action to be invoked when a document
is published. See the Specify
publish event action procedure for more information.
To add a new destination folder
When selecting a destination folder for the publication document, you
can create a new folder.
- On the Select Destination Folder dialog, navigate to the level (root
of the object store or folder) where you want to add a folder.
- Open the folder into which you want to create a subfolder and then
click the Add New Folder button.
- Choose a class for the folder. Click Browse
to choose a class other than the default folder class. Different classes
probably display different properties.
- Enter at least any required property data (indicated by a red asterisk)
and click Next. For more information
on entering properties, including multi-value properties, see Enter
properties.
- Review or update the security on the folder and click Finish.
