The Properties pane for Design mode

Properties pane

The Properties pane, to the right of the workflow map area, displays the properties for the selected object—the selected step, route, text annotation, or association.

If the pane is empty, click on an object in the map area or click a button on the Properties bar to display the properties for that object.

When you create a step or route, you specify all of the properties for that item on the appropriate tab pages. The type of step or route determines the tabs and options available.

  • To define workflow properties such as data fields, attachments, milestones or other properties, click the Workflow Properties button.
  • To specify options appropriate for a step, such as the step destination (a participant or work queue), what parameters are required, any assigned milestones, deadline, routing, and other options on the appropriate tabs, click the Step Properties button. See Step Properties.
  • To specify possible routing conditions, depending on the participant response, field values, or other conditions, click the Routes button. See Route Properties.
  • To create a text annotation, click the Text Annotation button and enter text. You can also associate the text annotation by clicking the Associations button.

If the selected step or route is on an inherited map, the values displayed on the Properties pane are read-only.
