Assign a choice list to a property template

To make a choice list useful, you must assign it to a property template.

A choice list can be one of two data types: string or integer. The string data type is for choice lists that contain text or that include characters such as numbers, letters, symbols, or spaces. The integer data type is for choice lists that can only comprise positive or negative numbers, such as monetary values.

The choice list data type must match the property template data type. For example, you cannot assign a choice list with an integer data type to a property template with a string data type.

You can assign a choice list when creating a property template within the Create a Property Template wizard, or after creation from the property template's property sheet. For help assigning a choice list during property template creation, click Help on the dialog box for which you need more help.
