Reassign a work item
You can reassign a work item in your inbox or in a public
inbox to someone else for processing.
To reassign a work item
- Select the work item from the inbox. You can either open the Task Step (click the work item name link) or the Information page.
- Click Reassign. The Reassign page opens.
- Select a domain from the Select in drop-down list.
- In the Starts with field, type one or more characters for the beginning of the user name. For example, to locate users named aalberto and aallen, type
a
.
All user names beginning with "a" are returned. You can narrow the
search by entering more characters. For example, aal
would return
aalberto and aallen, but not alemon or amoss.
- Click Search. After a brief delay,
the matching names are displayed.
NOTE If
the number of matching names is greater than the default for displaying,
not all matches are displayed. You will need to change the search criteria
and click Search again to see more
results.
- When you are satisfied with the search results, select the desired
name from the list of available names.
- Select the Have the currently assigned participant approve work before
it progresses to the next step in workflow check box. If you select this check box, the other person can
complete the step for you, and the work item moves to the next step
in the workflow. If you clear this
check box, the work is returned to you after the other person
finishes the step.
- Click Accept.
