Assign the lifecycle policy to a document class

You can assign a lifecycle policy to a document class in order to define states that the documents based on the class will go through during its life.

If necessary, you can override the default lifecycle policy when you add a document to the Content Engine. You can also remove the default lifecycle policy from a new document by selecting <None> as the lifecycle policy, instead of using the default policy assigned to the document class.

To assign a document lifecycle policy to a document class

  1. Log on to the object store as an object store administrator.
  2. In the tree view, expand Object Stores > object store name > Document Class.
  3. Right-click Document Class, or one of its subclasses, and select Properties from the menu.
  4. Select the General tab.
  5. Open the Document Lifecycle Policy list and select the lifecycle policy with the desired lifecycle action.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.
