Text annotations
A text annotation is a note that you can associate with any step or route in a workflow map. Annotations appear on the workflow map displayed in Process Designer; they do not appear in a running workflow at an individual step.

To add a text annotation to the workflow map
- Right-click in the workflow map and select New Text Annotation.
TIP If text annotations are turned off in Display Preferences, the New Text Annotation option will not appear on the menu.
- In the Properties pane:
- Specify a name. (Optional)
- Enter the message.
- Select a background color.
- Drag the annotation box to the location you want on the map.
- To associate the annotation with a particular step or route, point to the edge of the annotation box and drag an association line to the target step or route. See Association properties for additional information.
NOTES
- You can show or hide all the text annotations and associations on the map using the Text Annotations icon in the status bar, or by selecting the option in Display Preferences. You can also specify the annotation background color. See Display Preference for more information.
- The text box has a predefined size and cannot be resized. The entire message displays in the Properties pane.
