This is an administrator-level activity.
You can set various paging-related options in the tree view control and in list view presentations, such as the number of items that appear on a single page. As shown in the following screenshot of the tree view control, you can also set the number of paging links to show before and after the currently selected page.
List view pages include a "Show Items" drop-down menu that allows users to change their list view page size. The following screenshot shows the default options presented in the menu. These same options appear in a drop-down menu on the User Preferences General Page, where a user can set the default list view page size. You can modify the values presented to users in the drop-down menus.
Paging values are defined, for example, in the <AE_install_path>/FileNet/Config/AE/PagingConfiguration.xml, as shown in the following listing.
...
<setting key="treeMaxItemsReturned">2000</setting>
<setting key="treeViewPageSize">50</setting>
<setting key="treeViewPageRange">2</setting>
<array key="pageSizes">
<value>5</value>
<value>10</value>
<value>15</value>
<value>20</value>
<value>25</value>
<value>30</value>
<value>35</value>
<value>50</value>
</array>
...
The following table describes the options in PagingConfiguration.xml, as specified by the key attribute of the elements that require a value.
Setting | Value |
---|---|
choiceListThreshold | The minimum number of entries in a Workplace XT choice list that would cause the filtered choice list control to be displayed. If the number of entries is less than this number, a standard HTML drop-down control is displayed instead. |
folderTreePageSize | The number of items displayed on a single page in the folder tree view when selecting a folder for a Workplace XT search template. |
listPageSize | On the Workplace XT browse page, the number of items displayed on a single page in the list view. |
pageSizes | The list view page size options to be presented to Workplace users via drop-down menus. You can add new value elements if you want to expand the number of options to select from. |
treeMaxItemsReturned | The maximum number of items for the Content Engine to return to the tree view control. Keep in mind that an excessively high number could slow enterprise performance. |
treePageSize | On the Workplace XT browse page, the number of items displayed on a single page in the tree view. |
treeViewPageSize | The total number of items that the tree view control
displays for any node in the tree. If you were to set this
option to 20 and the treeMaxItemsReturned option to 2000,
and if the Content Engine returned 2000 items for a
particular node in the tree, 20 nested items would appear
for that node, plus a configurable number of paging links
for that node (configured by the treeViewPageRange parameter
below).
NOTE Reloading PagingConfiguration.xml will not reflect changes to this option for tree views that have already been opened. You must sign out of Workplace for changes to this option to take effect. |
treeViewPageRange | The number of navigation paging links to show before
and after the current page. (Each paging link indicates
the range of items that would appear.) Paging links can
appear at the top of the tree view (in the "Path" line),
or at any node in the tree that contains more items than
the value set in the "treeViewPageSize" option. For
example, if 220 items are returned from the Content
Engine for a particular tree node, and if the
treeViewPageSize option is set to 20, you would get
eleven pages in the "Items" line for the node, each with
twenty items. If you were to set this parameter to two,
then two paging links would show before and two paging
links would show after the current page in the "Items"
line. Therefore:
