FileNet P8 WebDAV Servlet

WebDAV is an extension to the HTTP/1.1 protocol that allows clients to perform remote Web content authoring operations. The FileNet P8 WebDAV Servlet provides a means by which WebDAV-enabled applications like Windows® Explorer, Microsoft® Office, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Adobe® GoLive can access and perform basic authoring operations on folders and documents that are stored in an object store. The FileNet P8 WebDAV Servlet, referred to in these help topics as WebDAV, is installed as part of the Application Engine installation. WebDAV is not available for Workplace XT.

End users can configure their client to create a Web folder object on their desktop that points to the WebDAV URL that contains one or more object stores. Once the client is configured to access an object store, you use the client's file commands against the Web folder containing the WebDAV objects. For example, using Windows Explorer, you can add a file from a folder on your hard drive to a folder in the object store. You must have appropriate access privileges to a specific folder in the object store to add or delete items.
