Convert objects for import
Use FileNet Deployment Manager to convert the objects in the export files for import.
The conversion process fails if a source object store or security principal that is referenced by the export objects is not mapped to a destination item. To prevent this situation, review the object store and security principal data maps for the deployment before you run the Convert Assets deployment operation. If a data map contains unmapped entries, perform one of the following steps:
- Modify the users and groups in the environments to eliminate the inconsistencies. Then, re-create the half maps and the data map.
- Re-create the principal half maps with different selection criteria and then re-create the data map.
- Edit the half maps to add matching labels for any unmapped users or groups. Then, re-create the data map. For more information, see Edit labels in half maps.
To convert objects for import:
- In FileNet Deployment Manager, right-click the source-destination pair for this deployment and then click Convert Assets.
- In the Select Manifest File field, enter the fully qualified name of the manifest file for the export files.
NOTE By default, Enterprise Manager names the manifest file Set1_CEExport_Manifest.xml.
- If you specified a folder for content when you created the export files, select the External Content check box and enter the fully qualified folder name in the Select External Content Folder field.
- Click Next.
- In the Select Folder for Converted Assets field, enter the fully qualified name of the folder in which FileNet Deployment Manager is to place the converted export files.
- If you exported content to an external folder, enter in the Select External Content Folder field the fully qualified name of the folder in which FileNet Deployment Manager is to place the content files.
- Click Finish.
