Open saved search

You can open a saved search in order to run it, run it with bulk operations, or just to view or modify it.

To open a saved search from Search Results node

  1. Select and right click the object store's Search Results node.
  2. Select Open Existing Search to examine or modify an existing search. You will see a Windows "Open" dialog box preset to look for files of *.sch type.
  3. Select the file containing the search you want to open. It will open in Enterprise Manager's Search Template dialog box.

  4. If you load a search template, the Search Template dialog box opens. Enter any requested search criteria. Also select Search and Bulk Operators if you want the search to carry out any defined bulk operations.
  5. Click Find Now to run the search. Any search results will appear in the Search Results node.
  6. Click Advanced if you want to examine and modify the full search.
  7. If you load a simple search, the Query Builder opens allowing you to run the search or modify it.

To open a saved search from Saved Searches node

  1. Select the object store's Saved Searches node. Any files saved to the local <install directory>\SearchTemplates location with an *.sch extension will appear in Enterprise Manager.
  2. Double-click the search you want.
  3. If you load a search template, the Search Template dialog box opens. Enter any requested search criteria. Also select Search and Bulk Operators if you want the search to carry out any defined bulk operations.
  4. If you load a simple search, the Query Builder opens allowing you to run the search or modify it.
