Preference settings
The Preference settings in the Bootstrap
page determine location for the site preferences file and the server
location for the FileNet P8 Documentation. You must enter an object store location
and preference name during bootstrap initialization.
- Object store location (subject to customization): Select an
object store from the choice list. The site preferences file is saved
in this object store.
CAUTION To run
a FileNet P8 Platform application, the user must have access to this object store.
- Preference name: Enter a
name for the document that will contain the site preferences.
- Documentation server: Enter the root
location of the FileNet P8 Documentation. This can be a Web address (for example, http://ecm/ecm_help)
or a path to local or remote files.
NOTE To search the FileNet P8 Documentation pages, the documentation must
be installed as a Web site on a Java™- enabled Web server.
- ISRA Interface Servlet URL. If your site integrates with Image Services, enter the Web address (URL) to the server where the ISRA Interface Servlet application was installed, in the format http://<ApplicationEngineISRAServlet server_name>:<non-SSL-port>/ApplicationEngineISRAServlet/ISRA.
NOTE The ISRA Interface Servlet URL should always use a non-SSL port even if
Workplace or Workplace XT is configured for SSL.
CAUTION If you change any of these preferences after installing an expansion product or another custom application, you must also copy the updated bootstrap.properties file to the location the custom application uses to access the bootstrap.properties file.
NOTES
- The servers in a Web farm support a single Web site and share preferences
by using the same object store and preference name.
- Bootstrap preferences are stored separately on each application server
in the bootstrap.properties file.
- The current version of the preferences file (in XML format) is kept in
the /Preferences folder, which is in the root folder of the selected object
store. The /Preferences folder is invisible to users of client applications.
You can also move the preferences
file and re-initialize
all preferences.
