Specify the content cache area folder
This is the root folder (also called a root directory) of the content cache area you are creating. The location is a shared folder in a networked file system accessible by Content Engine.
Specifying a content cache area folder path requires the following:
- The current user account must have permissions to create files and
folders.
- The content cache area path name must adhere to the Universal Naming
Convention (UNC) guidelines, unless you're using a local path.
The content cache area folder is the top-level folder in the content cache area folder tree. The path name can contain up to 132 characters.
CAUTION A content cache should never be
created on a local share. A local drive path such as D:\Cache is most
efficient and a remote share path can be specified in some circumstances;
however, a local share should never be used for the content cache.
- Shared Folder
- You can select a folder on either a local or remote server using the
UNC file path (which identifies the server's name). If Enterprise
Manager is located on the local computer, you can also select a local
folder path by specifying the drive and folder name.
- Content Cache Folder (created beneath the shared folder)
- This field identifies the name of the content cache folder which will
be created as a subfolder of the specified Shared Folder. You
cannot change this selection.
