Use menus and keyboard shortcuts

This topic describes the options available from the menus in FileNet Deployment Manager.

File menu

Option Keyboard Shortcut Action
New    

New Environment

Ctrl+Alt+E

Opens the New Environment wizard that you use to create a new source or destination environment.

See Create or edit an environment definition.

New Source-Destination Pair

Ctrl+Alt+P

Opens the New Source-Destination Pair wizard that you use to map a destination environment to a source environment.

See Create a source-destination pair.

New Deployment Tree

Ctrl+Alt+S

Opens the Select Deployment Tree Location wizard that you use to create or select a deployment tree.

See Create or select a deployment tree.

Open Ctrl+O Opens the editor for the item selected in the deployment tree view.
Close Ctrl+W Closes the editor for the item selected in the deployment tree view.
Close All Ctrl+Shift+W Closes all open editors.
Save Ctrl+S Saves any changes for the item selected in the deployment tree view.
Save All Ctrl+Shift+S Saves all changes.
Rename F2

Opens the Rename resource wizard that you use to specify a new name for the selected environment or source-destination pair.

NOTE If you rename an environment, FileNet Deployment Manager automatically changes the name in any source-destination pair containing that environment.

Refresh F5 Closes all editors and reloads the deployment tree. Any changes that you have not saved are lost.
Switch Deployment Tree Ctrl+Alt+S

Opens the Select Deployment Tree Location wizard that you use to create or select a different deployment tree.

Exit Ctrl+Alt+X

Closes FileNet Deployment Manager. You are prompted to save any changes.

Edit menu

Option Keyboard Shortcut Action
Copy Ctrl+C

Copies the selected environment or source-destination pair to the clipboard.

Paste Ctrl+V

Creates a new environment or source-destination pair by copying the item from the clipboard into the deployment tree.

Delete Delete

Deletes the selected environment or source-destination pair from the deployment tree.

Deployment menu

Option Keyboard Shortcut Action
Retrieve Data Ctrl+Alt+R

Creates or updates the object store or security principal half map for an environment.

Map Data Ctrl+Alt+M

Creates or updates the object store or security principal data map for a source-destination pair.

See Create or update an object store data map or Create or update a security principal data map.

Convert Assets  

Converts objects contained in the export files to prepare them for import.

Create Sample Files  

Generates a set of files illustrating the format and content of the files that FileNet Deployment Manager uses.

Window menu

Option Keyboard Shortcut Action
Navigate    

Maximize Active View or Editor

Ctrl+M Maximizes the view or editor that is active to fill the window.

Minimize Active View or Editor

  Minimizes the view or editor that is active to an icon.

Activate Editor

F12

Activates the current editor.

Next Editor

Ctrl+F6 Makes the next editor in the list of recently used editors active.

Previous Editor

Ctrl+Shift+F6 Makes the previous editor in the list of recently used editors active.
Reset Perspective   Returns FileNet Deployment Manager to its default layout.
Preferences  

Opens the Preferences wizard that you use to specify start up and shutdown preferences for FileNet Deployment Manager.

Help menu

Option Keyboard Shortcut Action
Welcome   Displays the Welcome page for FileNet Deployment Manager.
Help Contents  

Opens the IBM FileNet P8 Help.

NOTE You must specify the location of the help to make it available to FileNet Deployment Manager. For more information, see Set preferences.
