Any object that can have a marking can be assigned one or more markings. A marking that is assigned to an object is called an active marking. An
collection contains all markings assigned to a single object.
From the properties on this interface, you can retrieve the value of the associated
property, and the display name of the property to which the active marking applies. (See the
property.)
You cannot create a new
object. However, you can get a reference to one by retrieving an object's
property, the value of which is an
, and then retrieving an item from the returned collection using an approach of your choice.
The following tables list the members exposed by IActiveMarking.
Public Properties
Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
![]() | Marking | Specifies a marking that is applied to an object for access control purposes. A call to Get_Marking() on a given IActiveMarking object returns this object-valued property. |
![]() | PropertyDisplayName | Specifies the display name of the property that caused the active marking to be applied to the object. The value of this property corresponds to the display name of the property that is designated as a marking property for a given object. As an example, if a object has a property named "foo" and that property is identified as a marking property, then the list of active marking instances for the document will have a property display name that corresponds to the display name of the "foo" property. |
