The object store Magazine view preference settings determine how document lists are displayed when the list view mode is set to Magazine.
NOTES
When the Default list view user display site preference is set to Magazine, each document listing occupies two rows of the list view: one for the title (or another property), the other for a description based on selected properties. The Document Name property identifies a property value (Document Title by default) that appears in the first row.
The Magazine view preference builds the description that appears in the second row using the Field and Format settings described below. The description consists of property values embedded in a phrase. You write the phrase and select up to four properties.
For each of the Field{n} settings, you can select a specific property to display in the description. Property names with an asterisk (*) are system-defined properties and are available for all documents. Other property names are defined for specific document classes and might not always be available for all documents. If labels have been customized, the custom label appears in parentheses to the right of the default label.
The Format field defines the text and properties to display below the document name in magazine view. The fields are referenced by their assigned field number. For example, {0} inserts the value of the property defined for Field {0}.
The default Format description is:
Written by {0} and last modified by {1} on {2}.
If the Format text is...
Written by {0} and last modified by {1} on {2}.
Assume that Field 0 is Creator, Field 1 is Last Modifier, and Field 2 is Date Last Modified. If a document's Creator is bswan, Last Modifier is bswan, and Date Last Modified is 3/01/05 10:00:04, the description will read:
Written by bswan and last modified by bswan on 3/01/05 10:00:04.
You can include up to four properties in the phrase.
NOTE If a document belongs to a document class that does not include the property selected in the Document Name preference, the top line of the magazine view displays "Not defined." For best results, use a system property (identified by an asterisk in the pulldown lists) or a property that is included in all document classes.
