Workflow properties - submaps

Use the Submap pane in the Workflow Properties dialog to create and manage submaps in the current workflow definition.

To create and manage submaps

  1. If the Workflow Properties dialog is not open, select Workflow Properties from the Process Designer toolbar and display the Submaps tab.

If there are existing submaps in the workflow definition, those maps are listed.

  2. On the Submap tab, you can perform the following tasks:
    • To create a new submap, enter a name and a description in the table. The submap name must be unique in the current workflow definition. Be sure to press the Enter key or tab to the next table row.
    • To delete a submap, select the name in the table, then click the Delete button.
    • To check which maps call a particular submap, select the submap, then click the Submap Usage button.

TIP You can also create submaps using Create Submap on the Tools menu or on the Maps toolbar.

When you use this method, you can choose to override FileNet-supplied maps to define custom processing for system functions, such as exception handling.
