Coalescing the Statistics Database tablesUse the -C option in vwlog to coalesce the workflow roster and work queue statistics database tables. When you coalesce the database tables, vwlog divides the statistics records into equal groupings of records, or blocks. Each block is then distilled into a single record in the database. The last record is left in the database, as a reference point for future statistical data. NOTE Statistics coalescing removes statistical data from the database, which affects the accuracy of sampling and event summation statistics. For more information, see About workflow statistics in the Help for Process Administrator or the Process Configuration Console. The following parameters apply to the -C option:
For example:
will coalesce the workflow roster and work queue statistics tables from
isolated region 7, with a block size of 50 records. The vwlog utility
will display its activity to the stdout device (usually the screen). The amount of reduction in database table size is dependent on the block size, as well as the number of classes in your isolated region. The maximum resulting size of the statistics database tables is m(n+1) records, where n is the number of blocks and m is the number of workflow rosters and work queues.
