Welcome to FileNet Process Tracker

Process Tracker is a tool for viewing a graphical representation of a workflow that is currently in progress, including values at currently active steps and historical information retrieved from event logs. You can see which steps have been completed, when they were completed, and which steps are currently active.

If the workflow author assigned you as a tracker for a workflow, you can monitor the progress, manage participants, and modify data fields, attachments, and workflow groups used in the workflow. You can also complete or delete work.

You can start Process Tracker in one of the following ways:

Workplace

In Workplace, select Tasks.

  • Open a Tracker item from your Tracker folder,
    or
  • Click the Status button (if available) in a work item you opened from your Inbox.
FileNet Web Services Client

In Personal Work Manager:

  • Open a Tracker item from your Tracker folder;
    or
  • Click the Status button (if available) in a work item you opened from your Inbox.
FileNet Open Client

On the Process page, Tools tab:

  • Under User Queues, open a Tracker item from your Tracker folder;
    or
  • Click the Status button (if available) in a work item you opened from your Inbox.

In any client interface, you can use Process Administrator to open any item in the Workflow view.

NOTE If your computer does not have the appropriate Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed, you will be prompted to download the JRE the first time you run any of the Process Java applications: Process Designer, Process Configuration Console, Process Administrator, and so on. The JRE needs to be downloaded only once. During installation of the JRE, de-select the Internet Explorer option on the Select Browsers screen. If you are using Netscape 6, select the Netscape 6 option on the Select Browsers screen. For additional information see Install the Java Runtime Environment.

NOTE When you open Tracker from the Status button in a work item, Process Tracker does not display the workflow properties or allow you to make changes to the workflow unless you are assigned as a tracker for that workflow.
