How Process Tracker is organized

Workflow map pane

The workflow map area displays the steps and routes defined on the selected workflow map. It also shows the current status of the workflow—steps that are in progress, steps that have not been visited, steps that are locked. In addition to the workflow main map, a workflow definition can contain one or more submaps. Select the map you want to view from the map toolbar.

Properties pane

Use this area to display or modify the properties for the currently selected object and the work items associated with it. You can view workflow, step, and route properties.

TIP This pane displays when you open Process Tracker from Process Administrator or when you open a tracker item that is assigned to you. If you open Process Tracker using the Status button on a work item page, the Properties pane displays only if you are assigned as a tracker for this workflow.

History pane

This area lists the actions that have occurred for the workflow or for selected steps. Actions are displayed in a tabular format. You can double-click an item on the Milestones, Workflow History, or Work Items tabs to display the map and step.

  • If milestones are defined in the workflow, the Milestone tab lists the milestones. Additional information displays for milestones that have been reached: the map and step where the milestone was reached, the milestone message, the level, and the time it was reached.

You can choose the level of milestones to display.

  • The Workflow History tab displays all steps that are completed or in progress for all maps in the workflow.
  • The Step History tab displays the actions associated with the selected steps.
  • The Work Items tab displays the current status of active work items. If there are multiple participants processing a step, there can be more than one work item in a workflow.

The separator bar

You can use the separator bars to hide, display, or change the size of the panes. Clicking an arrow on the separator bar moves the bar in the direction of the arrow, hiding one pane and expanding the other. To change the relative size of the panes on either side of the bar, drag the bar in the desired direction.
