Process Router command line optionsYou can start or stop a Process Router from the command line, which can be useful if you want to start or stop a router as part of a script that performs a variety of functions. Start or stop a router by entering the corresponding command at the command prompt. TIP On a Windows-based web server (FileNet Web Services Client or Open Client only), you can start and stop a Process Router from Process Service Administrator; via this tool, you can configure a router to start automatically when you start Windows. Whichever method you choose to start a router, you must use the same method to stop the router; for example, to stop a router you started in Process Task Manager, you must again use Process Task Manager. (For the purposes of this discussion, Process Task Manager and the command line option are considered to be the same method.) NOTE On a Content Engine or Content Services server, you must use the Process Service Administrator to start and stop the router. NOTE If a remote HTTP server is deployed, for each Process Router running on the Application Engine or web server, you must start a Process Router on the remote HTTP server using the same router name and port number. See "Start the Process Router" in the FileNet P8 Installation Guide or Process Installation Guide for FileNet Image Manager for further information. For a description of each Input parameters for starting and stopping a router. Parameters surrounded by angle brackets (<>) are required, while parameters surrounded by square brackets ([]) are optional. While you can leave out all optional trailing parameter values, you must enter all optional parameter values that precede the optional parameter you want to designate. For example, if you want to specify a debug level of 4, then you must also specify the registry port, the PPM port, and the rmiBacklog value, even if you use the default values for each. For examples, see Process Router command line examples. TIP On a UNIX server, if you start a router using the command shown above, the router stops running when you log out. To keep the router running after you log out, run the command via the nohup utility by preceding the command shown above with and following the command with . To stop a router from the command line java -cp "< h>" [-Djava.rmi.server.hostname=< >] filenet.vw.router.VWRouter unbind < > [ ]
