Document search example (FileNet Web Services Client only)
Access FileNet Web Services Client and click on the library you wish to log
on to. After logging on, click the Search Mode
to display the search dialog.
From the Search dialog, use the following steps to find a document in
the selected CS or IS library.
Enter the search criteria and, optionally, set the maximum number
of documents to return.
To search by Title, you can enter part of the title and use wildcards,
* and ?.
For example, the search text "year*" will find documents
with words in the title beginning with year, such as yearly and
years.
The search text "Sm?th" will find both Smith and Smyth.
To search by words that appear close together in the document (CS
library only), enter the words and the maximum number of characters
that can separate the words (not including spaces and common words).
You can specify if the words are to be in the order you enter or in
any order.
For example, enter the search text "exp report", select
Words in any order, and set the
range to 15. This will find documents with the words:
- expense report
- report of 1999 expenses
- report prepared by the expert witness
