Process Simulator Process Analyzer properties

Use the Process Analyzer tab to configure the Process Analyzer Engines to be used by the Process Simulator.

Production vs. simulation

When you create a scenario for a simulation, you have the option to import production data to define arrival schedules for each workflow. The Process Simulator imports this information from the production Process Analyzer. On the other hand, when you run a simulation with publishing enabled, the Process Simulator publishes the simulation events to the simulation Process Analyzer.

The Process Analyzer tab includes these fields for both the production and simulation Process Analyzer:

Name Description

Process Analyzer Host

The host name for a Process Analyzer Engine running on the port specified by the Process Analyzer Port parameter.

CAUTION RMI requests to a server with an underscore (_) in the DNS name fail due to a limitation in JRE 1.4 and greater. If your server has a name containing an underscore, you must use the IP address or localhost if appropriate.

Process Analyzer Port

The RMI port the Process Analyzer Engine uses. The default port is 32772.

Database Host

The host name of the server containing a remote database or named instance used by the Process Analyzer Engine. The default is localhost.

CAUTION RMI requests to a server with an underscore (_) in the DNS name fail due to a limitation in JRE 1.4 and greater. If your server has a name containing an underscore, you must use the IP address or localhost if appropriate.

Database Port

The port used by the server specified in the Database Host. The default is 1433.

Database User Name

The user name used to connect the the database software used by the Process Analyzer Engine.
