Search for a document (FileNet Web Services Client and Open Client systems only)
In a library that contains a large number of documents, you can use the
Search feature to locate the document you want.
Use the following steps to find a document in the selected Content Services
or IS library.
In the open library, click the Search Mode button on the library toolbar.
Enter the search criteria and, optionally, set the maximum number
of documents to return.
To search by Title, you can enter part of the title and use wildcards,
* and ?.
For example, the search text "year*" will find documents
with words in the title beginning with year, such as yearly and
years.
The search text "Sm?th" will find both Smith and Smyth.
To search by words that appear close together in the document, enter
the words and the maximum number of characters that can separate the
words (not including spaces and common words). You can specify if
the words are to be in the order you enter or in any order.
For example, enter the search text "exp report", select
Words any order, and set the range to 15. This will find
documents with the words:
- expense report
- report of 1999 expenses
- report prepared by the expert witness
Click Start search on the toolbar to execute the search.
