About the Rules repository

The Rules repository contains the workflow repositories and rules necessary to process a running workflow. The root folder for the Rules repository, fnsw_loc\connectors\ILOG\ (Windows) or fnsw/local/connectors/ILOG/ (UNIX), is created automatically during Process Engine installation. The first time the user transfers any workflow to the Rules repository the Rules Engine creates two folders under the root, Repositories and Rules. The Repositories folder contains the transferred workflows, the Rules folder contains the business (BAL) rules created and exported from ILOG Rules Builder.

NOTE The repository is created and maintained by the Rules Engine. Do not update the contents of the repository folders directly from the command prompt or Windows Explorer.

Transferred workflows are grouped by isolated region under the Repositories folder. The individual workflows are stored in subfolders under the appropriate isolated region. Rules Engine creates these folders automatically if they do not already exist when the transfer takes place. The folder names are assigned based on the isolated region name and the workflow name. For example, the following figures show a sample Rules repository with a workflow called "loanApproval" in isolated region 120.
