Define workflow properties

In the Workflow Properties dialog, you specify the general properties of the workflow, such as the name and subject, the data fields, attachments, workflow groups, and milestones you will use for any steps in the workflow, and any submaps.

To define workflow properties

  1. Click Workflow Properties on the Process Designer toolbar to display the Workflow Properties dialog.
  2. Select the tab and enter the appropriate information.

General: Specify a name for the workflow definition; specify the subject, description, and any deadline for the workflow.

Advanced: Choose a roster and event log; specify the condition expression.

Data Fields: Define each data field that will be used in any step in the workflow.

Attachments: Specify an attachment for each document or other file that will be used in any step in the workflow.

Workflow Groups: Assign a tracker for this workflow; define any named group of users who will participate in the workflow.

Milestones: Define any milestones or assignments that will be used at any step.

    Submaps: Create or manage submaps.

TIP If you have a detailed analysis of the workflow, you might find it efficient to define the fields, attachments, and workflow groups in the Workflow Properties dialog before you start to define the steps.
