Configuring email notification

Use the Notification tab to configure email notification for a Process Engine.

TIP In a multi-server system, you can configure each Process Engine for a different email system if desired.

The Notification tab includes these fields:

Name Description

SMTP Host

The complete host name for an SMTP server on the network running the SMTP Service on the port specified by the SMTP Port parameter below. The SMTP server can be a Process Engine or another server on your network. See the Help for Process Java API for general information on setting up an SMTP server.

A sample entry might be: smtp_host_name .

SMTP Port

The port on which the SMTP Service is running. The default value is 25.

Character Set

The character set to be used in encoding the email message. The default is ISO-8859-1. If you change this value, you must set the Encode From Field parameter below.

Email Logon ID

The name used for the account you want the Process Engine to use to log on to the mail server application. You must use ASCII characters only.

Example: workflow@host.com

Email From ID

The name you want to appear in the From field on the email notifications. You may use extended ASCII characters.

Encode From Field

Indicates whether to encode the contents of the Email from ID field. Set to "On" if the Email From ID field contains extended ASCII characters. "Off" is the default.

Set to "Off" if you are using Lotus Notes.
