Backup setsEach backup medium can contain multiple backup sets. A backup set is a collection of data. Some of the common attributes in a set include: a label (or description), the size of the set, the creation time, and the backup type. Different backup applications may have different attributes for sets. A set can span multiple tapes but not multiple backup files. When creating a tape backup, you can either use an empty medium, overwrite an existing backup medium, or append a new set at the end of the designated medium.
