Backup and restore guidelines

Each company needs a backup policy and procedure for safeguarding the data on its computer systems. The policy established for any given company depends on a number of factors, such as the sensitivity of the data, the user needs, and the company organization. These Backup and Restore Guidelines provide recommendations for backing up and restoring the FileNet Process software and data. The specific procedures implemented at your site will depend on the FileNet applications at your site and your tolerance for downtime.

If the FileNet Process software must be available to users on a 24 hour basis, you may decide to implement a fault-tolerant, or fail-over, architecture. Note that a fail-over system is not substitute for performing software backups. Deleted or corrupted files on the master computer will be deleted or corrupted on the backup computer as well.
