The Process Analyzer Services

The Process Analyzer uses two services to perform its function: AEEngine and VMAE Publisher Service. Each service starts automatically when you start the Process Analyzer Engine. You can subsequently stop and restart them using the Windows Services administrative tool.

AEEngine

The AEEngine service communicates with the Process Engine and collects processing data such as events, workflow definitions, resource information and system configuration information. The AEEngine stores the data in the data warehouse which eventually is processed by the VMAE Publishing Service.

VMAE Publisher Service

The VMAE Publisher Service runs on the Process Analyzer Engine. When minimized, the service sits as an icon in the System Tray. From this icon, you can:

  • Show statistics.
  • Stop the service.
  • Perform a scan.

NOTE While you can stop the service here, you must restart it from the Windows Services administrative tool.

The following statistics are available.
