Logon issues for Process Administrator

As an administrator, you need access to Process Administrator, to an object store or library, and to workflow rosters and queues.

Access to Process Administrator

Your client interface determines the logon requirements.

  • For Workplace:

If the PWAdministrator group exists, you must log on as a member of that group in order to run Process Administrator. (The PWAdministrator group is created by default during the installation process.) Otherwise, if the PWAdministrator group does not exist, any user who can log on can run Process Administrator.

  • For FileNet Web Services Client or Open Client:

If the PWAdministrator group exists, you must log on as a member of that group or the SysAdminG group in order to run Process Administrator. Otherwise, if the PWAdministrator group does not exist, any user who can log on can run Process Administrator.

Access to an object store or library

To assign a document or other file in an object store or library to an attachment, you must have security access to view the document or file in the object store or library.

Access to workflow rosters and queues

Viewing, opening, and modifying work items is controlled by the access rights defined by your system administrator for the workflow roster or queue. For further information, see About workflow security.

For general information about logging on or about using the advanced options to access a different VWService and isolated region, see one of the following:

  • For Workplace see Sign in in Help for Workplace.
  • For FileNet Web Services Client and Open Client see About logging on.
