Configuring the Component Integrator

The Component Integrator makes it possible to interact with an external entity—a "component", such as a Java object or (Workplace only) JMS messaging system—from a workflow step. See About the Component Integrator for a complete overview of this functionality.

As a workflow administrator, you interact with the Component Integrator in the following ways:

  • You work with the workflow author to create and configure component queues. See Configuring component queues in the Help for Process Configuration Console for further information.
  • You control the Component Manager and its associated components via the Process Task Manager on the Application Engine or web server. See Component Manager in the Help for Process Task Manager for detailed instructions.
  • You configure the connection between the Component Manager and the Process Engine . See Configuring other server connections in the Help for Process Task Manager for detailed instructions.
