Sample StyleSets

Style files are contained in a directory structure called a styleset. Sample stylesets are installed for you.

Gateway Type
Default Style Directory Location
File System
verity/prdname/k2/common/styles/fssec/
verity/prdname/k2/common/styles/fsusec/

HTTP
verity/prdname/k2/common/styles/httpsec/
verity/prdname/k2/common/styles/httpusec/

In the default style directory examples provided above, verity/prdname represents the user-definable portion of the installation directory. For example, on Windows, the default directory for the non-secure File System styleset might be:

C:\Program Files\Verity\K2\Common\Styles\fsusec\

NOTE: The sample stylesets do not configure collections for document-level security. It is recommended that you use the StyleSet Editor in the K2 Dashboard to create stylesets with document-level security enabled.

Using Custom Style Files

While Verity supplies default style files, you may wish to modify file entries or create new style files to customize collection configuration, as appropriate.

If you want to modify the existing style files, we recommend that you make a backup copy of the standard set of style files in a safe location, somewhere outside of the Verity product installation directory or folder. If you make custom changes to a set of style files, it is a good idea to backup the custom style directory using the same methods. That way, you can reference all style files in the future.

If you want to modify any style files for an existing collection, you must re-index the collection's documents. The exception to this is the style.plc file which can be updated since it affects indexing behavior, not the contents of the collection indexes.

See the Verity K2 Dashboard User's Guide and any relevant Verity gateway guide for information about using the K2 Dashboard to create and modify stylesets. Sets of style files are referred to as stylesets in the K2 Dashboard administrative interface.
