Restoring the system state (Windows)If the system state has been damaged by bad sectors, file system errors, or user intervention, you will need to restore it from your backup copy. If the corruption is due to a minor hard disk problem such as bad sectors: Use the NT Check Disk utility to correct any bad sector errors. Be sure to scan the whole disk surface. If you cannot start the system without a boot disk, follow these steps:
