Automatic workflow launching

You can configure your Process system to automatically launch workflows when a document or document class triggers an appropriate event.

  • For Workplace, see Subscription property mapping.
  • For Open Client or FileNet Web Services Client, use the Process Service Administrator to configure the integration layer between Process and IDM COM foundation objects, and to configure the Launch Daemon.
  • As part of automatic launch, you can optionally design a workflow to copy values from the launching document's properties to data fields in the workflow. When you use this feature in Process Designer, the resulting values in the data fields are noted in the event log. If the copy operation is unsuccessful (because of a data type mismatch or NULL value, for example), that is also noted in the event log. For information about this feature, see Save document class properties to data fields on launch.
