How Process Task Manager is organized

The Process Task Manager is divided into three panes, as shown in the sample below:

Feature pane

The left pane is the folder pane, which shows a tree view of the installed features. See Features by server for a cross-reference of features and the server where each is installed.

Properties pane

When you select a feature in the folder pane, the top right pane, called the properties pane, displays the properties of the selected feature.

Message pane

The bottom pane is the message pane. It contains error, warning, and informational messages that occur while the Process Task Manager window is open. Double-click on a message to see the message details.

The separator bar

You can use the separator bars to hide, display, or change the size of the panes. Clicking an arrow on the separator bar moves the bar in the direction of the arrow, hiding one pane and expanding the other. To change the relative size of the panes on either side of the bar, drag the bar in the desired direction.

Performing an action

To perform an action, you usually have several choices:

  • Click the appropriate button on the toolbar.
  • Select the action from the Action menu.
  • Right-click on the object, and select the action from the context menu.
