Tips for using vwtoolFollowing are descriptions of common actions you might take in vwtool. Repeat the previous commandTo repeat the previous command for commands that do not modify the system, press Enter from the command line. To repeat the previous command for commands that do modify the system, you must re-enter the command from the command line. The = command does not replace the previous command in memory. Pressing Enter after the = command repeats the command entered prior to =, where appropriate. Embed a blank or enter a zero-length string for any parameterCommand parameters on the command line are position-dependent. To enter an embedded blank in any parameter, surround the parameter in double quotes. To enter a zero-length string for any parameter, use two successive double quotes (""). Terminate command input or executionYou can enter Ctrl-C at any time during command input or execution to terminate the input or execution. If you enter Ctrl-C during execution, the command aborts at the next opportunity. If you enter Ctrl-C in response to a parameter prompt, the program returns to the main input prompt. Save vwtool session output to a fileYou can create a hard copy of your vwtool session by sending a copy of your vwtool session output to a text file as well as the terminal. For details, see the hardcopy command. Change the current isolated regionWithin a VWService, vwtool accesses one isolated region at a time. When you start vwtool, it accesses isolated region 1 by default. After vwtool is running, you can change the isolated region via the region command. Get helpIn addition to this documentation, the vwtool help command displays a list of all available commands.
