Import workflow definition

Use the Import option to import workflow submaps, data fields, and milestones from a saved workflow definition into the current workflow definition. If items in the imported workflow definition have the same names as items in the current workflow defintion, the current items are retained—the imported items do not overwrite existing items of the same name.

To import a saved workflow definition into the current workflow definition

  1. From the File menu, choose Import Workflow.
  2. At the prompt, specify whether you want to save the information in the current workflow definition before you import.
  3. Locate the workflow definition to import. You can import a workflow definition from either your local disk or from your object store or library.

TIP If you save the current workflow definition, you can go back to the saved version if you don't like the result of the import.

NOTE  You can neither import nor open a workflow definition file obtained using vwtool dump option. The dumped XML file does not contain an entire, valid workflow definition.
