Router trace file

The Process Router trace file logs router activity on the Application Engine or web server. It is used mainly for debugging purposes when requested by your FileNet support representative. The router trace file provides the following information:

Router Trace File Information

File name

<router_name>.trc, where router_name is the name assigned to the router when it is started. (The default is vwrouter.trc.)

Created on:

The Application Engine or web server.

Located in:

The directory from which you start the router.

NOTE On a Windows-based Application Engine or web server, the router trace file is located in the \Windows\System32 directory if the router was started from Process Service Administrator.

Can be turned off:

Yes. This file is created when you set the “Debug level” to anything other than 0 when starting a router.

To archive:

Use standard operating system commands to rename the file. Then copy the renamed file to permanent storage media and delete the copied file from the current location.
