Reassign work

If the workflow definition allows you to reassign work that has been assigned to you, you can assign the work to another participant. You can also choose to have the work return to you for approval after the other participant has completed it, before it progresses to the next step in the workflow.

To reassign a work item to another participant

  1. On the work item page, click Reassign. If there is no Reassign button, you do not have the option to reassign this work.
  2. At the prompt, select an available participant. Only individual users (rather than groups) are listed. See Participant selection for additional information about selecting participants.

NOTE  If users or groups have been recently added to your Process system, they might not be displayed until the next time that the security list is updated on the web server--twelve hours, by default.

  3. Specify if you want to approve the work before it progresses to the next step in the workflow.

NOTE  If you reassign a work item to another participant, that item will no longer be available from your email Inbox; you should delete any obsolete email message.
