Specify data fields

Use the Data Fields tab to define workflow data fields for use in Process Analyzer charts. The table on the Data Fields tab displays workflow data fields that are exposed in the Process Analyzer database. These workflow data fields may exist in any isolated region and can be either user-defined fields or system fields. See About data fields for general information regarding using workflow data fields as dimensions and measures.

To add a workflow data field to the Process Analyzer database

  1. On the Data Fields tab, click the Connect button and specify the router that connects to the isolated region. This displays the list of data fields in the selected isolated region.

    NOTE If you are already connected to a region, you can disconnect, then connect to a different isolated region to access the data fields in that region.

  2. On the Data Fields tab, click Add data field on the toolbar.
  3. On the Data Field Properties page, select a data field, then complete the configuration information. See the Data field properties.

    The field is not added to the Process Analyzer database until the next time the cubes are processed. You can wait for the next scheduled processing, or you can process the cubes manually.
