Process Java Applets Connectivity (PJAC)

As of Process release 5.1 (Process Engine 2.0.1), FileNet provides an installer called "Process Java Applets Connectivity (PJAC)" that installs the components that provide connectivity to the Process Engine (replaces the previous "Web WorkFlo and Toolkit" components). PJAC is delivered on the PJAC and Toolkit Installation CD. In addition to the PJAC components (see table below), this CD also contains API samples, sample Step Processor and Launch Step Processor applications and applets, the Java Step Processor UI Toolkit, and other files that are included in the Process Development Environment (for details, see Installing the Process Development Environment for your web application).

The PJAC installer provides a dialogue screen to prompt you to select which of the following PJAC configurations you wish to install:

Note The PJAC installer allows you to install either or both PJAC for FileNet Web Services and PJAC for Open Client. However, Stand-alone PJAC may not be installed with any other PJAC; i.e., Stand-alone PJAC and any other PJAC are mutually exclusive. Process applications using the FileNet Workplace web application do not require PJAC installation unless you are planning to develop a COM-based Workplace application. For information on using the PJAC installer, see the PJAC Installation Guide.

The following table describes the PJAC components, files installed, and setup or configuration steps needed to set up PJAC on your development system.

PJAC Components Files Description Setup for Development

PJAC - FileNet Web Services

Process Java runtime APIs

Process router

JiGlue COM Bridge

Process Integration Services (for FileNet Web Services)

Note The PJAC installer searches for an existing specific JRE 1.3.1 version. If not found, the installer installs JRE 1.3.1.

For Process Developer Environment and Toolkit files installed, see Process Development Environment Contents [FileNet Web Services].

Combines Java with an interface to the ASP-hosted application plus the automation layer of FileNet Web Services to provide integration and connectivity between FileNet Web Services and the Process Engine. Includes Process Integration Services for FileNet Web Services to enable Java applets/applications, through the Process Java APIs, to access IDM objects from FileNet Image or Content Services. Also includes the JiGlue library files that provide the interface between a COM-based ASP-hosted application and the Process Java APIs.

1. Install the Process Development Environment - FileNet Web Services.

2. Run the PJAC installer (see the PJAC Installation Guide).

Note The PJAC installation path <IDMInstallPath> is normally the same as FileNet Web Services; i.e., C:\Program Files \FileNet\IDM...

PJAC - FileNet Open Client

Process Java runtime APIs

Process router

JiGlue COM Bridge

Process Integration Services (for FileNet Open Client)

Note The PJAC installer searches for an existing specific JRE 1.3.1 version. If not found, the installer installs JRE 1.3.1.

For Process Developer Environment and Toolkit files installed, see Process Development Environment Contents [FileNet Open Client] and PJAC Files for Open Client.

Combines Java with an interface to the ASPX-hosted application to provide integration and connectivity between FileNet Open Client and the Process Engine. Includes Process Integration Services for FileNet Open Client to enable Java applets/applications (through the Process Java APIs) to access Foundation IDM objects from FileNet Image or Content Services and also to provide NT functions to support a unified logon. Also includes the JiGlue library files (must be in the same directory as pw.jar) that provide the interface between the .NET-based Process data providers and the Process Java APIs.

1. Install the Process Development Environment - FileNet Open Client.

2. Run the PJAC installer (see the PJAC Installation Guide).

Note The PJAC installation path <OpenClientPath> is normally the same as FileNet Open Client; i.e., C:\Program Files\ FileNet\IDM\Web\ FNOpenClient...

PJAC - Stand-alone

Process Java runtime APIs

Process router

JiGlue COM Bridge

Note The PJAC installer searches for an existing JRE 1.3.1 or greater. If not found, the installer installs JRE 1.3.1.

pw.jar

jiglue.dll

jiglue.tlb

plus icons and Task Manager properties file.

Provides connectivity to the Process Engine in development environments where a FileNet web application is not used.

Run the PJAC installer (see the PJAC Installation Guide).

Note The PJAC installation path is user-specified.
