General step - rules

When business rules are used in a workflow, you can assign appropriate rule sets to any step. See About rules for additional information.

To specify rules for a step

  1. Select the appropriate step, then click the Rules tab in the Properties pane.
  2. On the Rules tab, specify the Type—when the rule will execute at runtime.
    • Before Execution - The specified rule set will execute before the step is enqueued.
    • On Save - The specified rule set will execute each time the step is saved.
    • After Completion - The specified rule will execute after the step is completed.
  3. On the Rule Sets bar, click Add.
  4. In the Rule Set Selection dialog, select one or more rule sets for this step. See Rule set selection for additional information.
