Initalizing and removing isolated regions

You may want to initialize or remove an isolated region. (In general, this option would be used by a developer.) You use the Process Configuration Console to initialize or remove a region.

Initializing an isolated region the first time creates the structures necessary to process workflows. Initializing an existing region removes all of the current structures and data, and recreates the initial configuration. Removing an isolated region removes all of the workflow data structures.

You must initialize a region before you can process workflows in it; in general, reinitializing or removing an isolated region is an option that would only be used in a development environment.

  • For Process Analyzer: Wwhen you reinitialize an isolated region in the Process Engine, you must also prune data from that same region for Process Analyzer Engine. See Prune isolated region data in the online Help for Process Analyzer.
  • For Rules Engine: When you reinitialize an isolated region in the Process Engine, you can reestablish the associations between rules and workflows. See Restoring a workflow repository for a reinitialized isolated region for detailed instructions.
