Welcome to vwtool

The vwtool utility is a Process Engine-based, command line-driven system support and administration program you can use to analyze and modify various components of the Process Engine.

The vwtool utility runs on any Process Engine. In a VWService comprised of multiple servers, you can run vwtool on any server and access the databases from all servers. Within a VWService, vwtool accesses one isolated region at a time. Most of the information vwtool returns is isolated region-specific, though some commands return VWService-wide or local server-specific information (the descriptions of these commands include their scope).

CAUTION The vwtool utility is a powerful tool that requires careful and informed use. Misuse of vwtool can lead to work item corruption, compromised data integrity, or loss of data.
