Latest SUN Solaris 5.8 linker patch 109147-25 will cause eProcess Workflow Server processes (VWJs, VWRs, etc.) to either crash or hang

This affects customers running eProcess Workflow Services on SUN Solaris for both eProcess 4.2.2 and 5.0

eProcess Workflow Server processes (VWJs, VWRs, etc) will either crash or hang

· How to identify the issue --

Run command "showrev -a" on the Solaris server to list all the installed OS patches and its revision, search the output for string "109147-25". If it exists, then the linker patch 109147-25 has been installed and would cause the said issue with eProcess.

· How to temporarily work around the issue --

(1) back out patch 109147-25 (e.g., logon as root, "/var/spool>patchrm 109147-25").

(2) download/copy 109147-24.zip (see attached .zip file below] to your workflow server. Affected systems should have all the fixes installed, up to revision 24. If the "showrev -a" output shows that these systems have both 109147-24 and 109147-25 installed, you should back out the 109147-25 to avoid problems.

(3) "unzip 109147-24"

(4) "patchadd 109147-24"

NOTE: FileNet received authorization from SUN to provide this older patch revision through our support channel, as it is not available from the SUN support web site.

Engineering is actively working with SUN to resolve this problem.
