The What's New topic describes new features added through the life of the product. The Hotfix Pack and Patch Dependencies table contains the hotfix packs and patches for FileNet eForms for Web Services components and functional expansions, and for each indicates any dependencies. The Known Issues topic lists the current FileNet eForms for Web Services and related third-party products software and associated documentation issues. The Resolved Known Issues topic contains only the fixed problems that were previously reported in this Release Notes document. Associated hotfix packs and patches are also listed in this topic.

Later revisions of this document may also discuss workarounds and/or fixes for some of the listed issues.

Patches for a number of these problems may become available prior to the next release of the product. Likewise, documentation updates may also be made available during the course of the release. For software patches and hotfix packs, go to the FileNet Worldwide Support web site. Click the FileNet Products link under Download Patches in the Service Window. Click eForm Products> eForms for FileNet Web Services, and then click the product release number. Select the patch or hotfix pack you want to download.

What's New

The following is a list of new features that have been added through the life of the FileNet eForms for Web Services product.

WSeF 4.2.2

  1. Added AspUpload program that enhances performance when saving large
    templates.

Panagon eForms Filler (Web) and eForms Designer 3.5.1

  1. In eForms Designer's Web Template Settings, the Cell Help action invokes Help whenever the user tabs into a cell containing Help text. The Help text
    automatically displays in the browser status bar and can also be
    displayed in a pop-up window. This action contains a built-in button
    trigger.
  2. In eForms Designer's Web Template Settings, The Attachments action allows the user to attach forms for other documents to the web form. Attached items may also be removed. This action contains a built-in button trigger.
  3. Users can view a template at pre-determined percentages of its actual size.
  4. In eForms Designer's Web Template Settings, form authors can specify whether or not a page is print-enabled.
  5. The SetChoices custom action now allows the single bar character '|' to be
    used as a delimiter instead of a comma.
  6. In a form template, the form author can select the 'Allow other values' option
    so the user who is filling out a form can enter data other than what is
    provided in a choice list.
  7. In a form template, the designer can enter additional text in the 'Optional
    descriptive text' field for an item in a choice list. This text will not
    appear in the cell when a choice is selected; the actual choice appears
    within parentheses to the right of the descriptive text.
  8. If the ado.asp from the Connectors folder is used to perform a lookup,
    multiple table rows can be returned. XML content is also accepted.

WSeF 4.2.2-001

  1. Localization functionality was added, including support for the Euro
    character. This allows a single language to be supported in a single
    installation.

Known Issues

The following notes describe known issues and critical information for this release. Where applicable, each note includes the associated Defect Tracking System (DTS) number for reference and tracking purposes.

Globalization Considerations

Capitalization of Months

By default, capitalization of months uses the Microsoft JVM (Java Virtual Machine) specified values. If you want to change the way JVM displays the capitalization of months for the destination language, use the following steps:

  1. Locate the FillerConstants.properties file in the eForms directory and open the file.
  2. If you do not want the months to be capitalized, remove the double forward slash characters before "CapitalizeDates" and set the parameter to "False."
  3. If you do want the months to be capitalized, remove the double forward slash characters before "CapitalizeDates" and set the parameter to "True."
Displaying International Currency Symbols

To display international currency symbols correctly, including the Euro symbol, use the following steps:

  1. Locate the FillerConstants.properties file in the eForms directory and open the file.
  2. Remove the double forward slash characters before "CurrencySymbol" and set the parameter to the currency symbol for the destination language (e.g., €).
  3. Remove the double forward slash characters before "CurrencyLead" and set the parameter to "True" for the currency symbol to appear before the number or to "False" for it to appear after the number.

Resolved Known Issues

This topic contains the fixed problems that were previously reported as known issues in Read me documents for FileNet eForms for Web Services and this Release Notes document. The list is organized by documentation fixes and hotfix pack and their related components affected by the fixes. Refer to the latest hotfix pack Readme files for a complete list of all customer-related problems addressed by the hotfix packs.

eForms for Web Services 4.2.2

  1. An error occurs when the default title for a new blank form is not selected.
  2. The F_Response cell displays an incorrect value.
  3. Mapping from a work item to a form does not work if the cell is at tab position 1.
  4. An error intermittently occurs where a work item is completed
    from an emailed link and then opened again from the Personal Manager.
  5. A runtime error message appears when attaching an eForm, launching the workflow, and then completing the work item from an emailed link.
  6. A "java exception error message" intermittently displays when
    repeatedly checking in and checking out a form.
  7. When saving a step after choosing a response from the special form cell F_Response, the first response choice is deleted.
  8. The special form cell F_Subject does not map correctly after the launch step when the step_param 'instVis=0' is applied.
  9. A form sizing problem prevents viewing of content on the tabs
    at the bottom of the Step Processor screen.

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-001

  1. IXL files created by ASPUpload are not cleared properly.
  2. Changes to DocView.asp and SimpleDoc.asp require a new folder structure.
  3. An error occurs when a form with a selected checkbox is printed.
  4. The character format A#A #A# does not automatically convert the lower case letters to upper case.
  5. The I-Sign (Panagon) digital signature does not work properly with
    unified logons.
  6. Cells in the eRouter and eForm are updated with the wrong values.
  7. Cancelling the workflow launch does not cancel the checkout of
    an eForm attachment.
  8. Form template cells that are set to the 'Required' data option do not prevent certain actions when specified.
  9. Printing problems occurs when tables contain blank rows below the last row of completed data.
  10. The form does not load in the browser window if it contains a calculation that performs division by 0.

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-003

  1. When you save a template with a non-English file name, characters do not display correctly.
  2. The Euro currency symbol does not display correctly in Panagon eForms Filler (Web).
  3. When you tab out of a formatted date field, the capitalization for the month does not display properly for all supported languages.
  4. An error message displays when attempting to edit a workflow group.
  5. Work items do not always open as expected from the Personal Work Manager inbox.

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-004

  1. The following globalization issues are not addressed: capitalization of months and the Euro currency symbol. (STR 60236, STR 60243)
  2. An error message displays when attempting to edit a workflow group. (STR 60725)
  3. Special characters entered in the eProcess string data field type displays
    incorrectly in eForms Filler (Web). (STR 60631)
  4. When you use Panagon eForms with eProcess 4.2.2 HFP2, Personal Work
    Manager work items do not open as expected from the inbox. (STR 60587)
  5. JAR files do not include the new security certificate.
  6. Documentation is missing for designing international forms have been added to the Panagon eForms Designer Forms Automation manual and the Content Services and Panagon eForms Designer and Filler manual. (STR 60486, STR 60151, STR 59678, STR 60236)
  7. The documentation is incorrect on pages 1-3 and 1-13 of the Content
    Services and Panagon eForms Filler (Web) manual. (STR 60813)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-005

  1. With an eProcess unified logon account, the user is prompted to log on to Content Services from eProcess. (STR 61093)
  2. In a workflow, when you use the system field "F_StepDescription, "
    carriage returns, single quotes, and double quotes do not display correctly
    on the eForm. (STR 61157)
  3. Form data does not refresh after a checkout/checkin (STR 61171) or a cancel checkout. (STR 61172)
  4. When a user opens multiple steps in a workflow in the same browser
    session, the form data entered in the previous step is incorrectly displayed.
    (STR 61261)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-006

  1. You cannot assign a URL or UNC path as an attachment. (STR 61247)
  2. There is a runtime error when you open an attachment. (STR 61309)
  3. Users have to override the lock when they open a work item. (STR 60587)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-007

  1. Carriage returns in F_Comment and F_Subject fields are not handled correctly. (STR 61610)
  2. When a user launches a workflow from an eForm, cell names do not map automatically to data fields. (STR 61469, 61505)
  3. When the form performs a lookup to a database, a list of database rows is not returned in a separate window. (61529)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-008

  1. The scroll bar does not disable when the user selects other tables on a checked in document. (STR 61669 and 61699)
  2. The step label does not display in the Launch and Step Processor window. (STR 61662)
  3. The Check In and Cancel Checkout buttons are not always displayed on a web form after the user carries out multiple check out/open and check in actions on the attached form. (STR 61808)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-009

  1. In an eForm, when the user creates a data document from a template and adds it to a CS library (using the Add to Library command), the eForms step processor gives an error if double quotes are used in the file name. (STR 62039)
  2. The "Checking attachment status" message incorrectly displays when the workflow had an integrated eForm and the user clicked the Attachments tab. (STR 62047)
  3. Documentation is missing about multi-value properties not being supported for eForms Filler (Web) on page 1-3 of the Content Services and Filler (Web) manual. (STR 61884)
  4. Documentation is missing about selecting from a choice list in the eForms Design Guide (page 1-24). (STR 61809)
  5. In the Attachments table, URL and UNC attachments do not work properly. (STR 62231)
  6. Users cannot open old work items, fill out and save the forms, and later re-open the forms to continue working on them. These forms appear to have a read-only status. (STR 62320)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-010

  1. There are issues with the browser flickering and closing on certain machines when a form includes multiple connected Post actions. (STR 20647 )

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-011

  1. When you re-assign a step, the F_StepComplete cell is executed rather than the F_StepSave validation. (STR 25747 )
  2. Scroll bars incorrectly remain invisible in table cells that can display more than one row of data. (STR 25746)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-012

  1. When you save a form to a Content Services library, you cannot use dashes (-) in the file name. (DTS 72804)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-013

  1. When values are entered in mapped data fields on a form, the workflow step is completed, and the eForm is displayed, incorrect values appear in the fields on the form. (DTS 93368)
  2. When "Return to Queue" is clicked in an eForms step, the special form cell F_StepComplete is evaluated and the step complete action is incorrectly executed if the form has not been saved. (DTS 93724)

Hotfix eForms for Web Services 4.2.2-014

  1. A date cell's value in the form data is not saved when a CS date property is mapped to the date formatted cell. (DTS 121944)
  2. When mapping data to a multi-row cell, the data that appears after the mapped rows is not cleared. (DTS 135202)
