IDS Virtual Appliance IDS 11.50.xC4 Virtual Appliance V1.9 System Requirements Depending on your hardware and operating system, the IBM IDS Virtual Appliance requires certain VMware software: * For UNIX, Linux, or Windows, either VMware Workstation 6.x or later or VMware Player 2.0.3, 2.5 or later must be installed on your host machine. * For Mac OS X systems VMware Fusion is required. * For remote access to VMware ESX or ESXi host machines, the VMware Infrastructure client is required. Hardware Requirements * A minimum of 1 GB of Memory (2 GB Recommended) * A minimum of 12 GB of Free Disk space Steps to install and start the IDS 11.50.xC4 Virtual Appliance: 1. Download and install VMware Player or Workstation. 2. Uncompress the Virtual Appliance (See installation notes below). 3. Start the VMware application. 4. Navigate to the directory in which the appliance was extracted. 5. Select the file with the .vmx extension and click Open. 6. When prompted, log in with the following information: Username = root Password = root 7. Read and accept all license agreements. 8. Log in with the following information: Username = developer Password = developer - or - Username = informix Password = informix 9. Have fun! Double-click the .EXE file to uncompress the Virtual Appliance. - You must download and install Adobe Flash Player in order to run the OpenAdmin tool. See the instructions in the Configuration section of the documentation file when the appliance starts. - If the host computer you are using is not connected to a network when you start the appliance, you might experience network errors; these errors can be ignored. - The 64-bit versions of the virtual appliance run only on machines with a 64-bit CPU supported by VMware. See the VMware site for information about compatible CPUs and the downloadable VMware tool called "Process Check for 64-bit Compatibility" to confirm that your host processor supports 64-bit images. - AGS Server Studio(TM) is included in this release. Server Studio is a graphical development and management environment that features a rich collection of modern tools that help both seasoned database professionals and novices alike manage IBM Informix data servers infrastructure.
