AIX 4.2+ and cs2shell Notebooks

There is an inconsistency in AIX 4.2 X-Windows support which
results in some cs2shell notebook pages displaying empty
sometimes. For most configuration, the cs2utt tool can be used
instead of the cs2shell.  However, if you must use the cs2shell
(provides additional TQ capability, for one), there is a
work-around available.

A modified libwms.a library is being provided to allow the use
of the cs2shell on AIX 4.2.  Be aware, this libwms.a has the
expand capability for notebooks turned off.  Therefore, with
this libwms.a, all Wms applications, including UI applications,
will not have the notebook expand capability. It is not
recommended to use this modified libwms.a for any other
applications, as the cs2shell is the only known application
to have this problem.

First back up the shipped libwms.a in your cs2/lib directory.
Copy PQ02601.bg5.Z to your cs2/lib directory.
Then issue:

    uncompress PQ02601.bg5.Z
    tar xvf PQ02601.bg5

Be aware this work-around will be removed when a true solution
replaces it on the DAE web site.

NOTE: For the CS/6000 1.1.1 English release, use package PQ02601.nb5
      (non-big5).
