You will be choosing from four alternative methods for performing
an installation:
Performing a GUI-based Launchpad installation
This method of installation uses IBM Launchpad and requires
a Web Browser. It provides a graphical, IBM Installation Manager wizard.
If you have not yet downloaded IBM® Installation
Manager, Launchpad will check for this and automatically offer to
download Installation Manager for you.
Performing a GUI-based installation without Launchpad
This GUI-based installation can be performed without a
browser and Launchpad. You can install the software by using the IBM
Installation Manager. If you have not yet downloaded IBM Installation Manager, the installation will
check for this and automatically offer to download Installation Manager
for you.
Performing a text-based interactive installation
This text-based, command-line installation can be performed
without a browser and Launchpad. You can install the software by using
the IBM Installation Manager. If you have not yet downloaded IBM Installation Manager, the installation
will check for this and automatically offer to download Installation
Manager for you.
Performing a silent installation
The silent installation is performed by recording either
a GUI or a text-based installation, then running the recorded installation
in silent mode. For silent installations, you are required to download
the IBM Installation Manager, which starts up and runs the installation.
