The topic explains how to run the data collector tools.
The IBM Support Assistant provided the following collectors:
- System Collector:
Collects general system information about
the software or hardware, registry, and so on. It is applicable only
for Windows environments. To run the System Collector, perform the
following steps:
- Go to <Install_dir>\isadc\System_Collector\isadc
- Run isadc.bat and then follow the instructions
on the console to proceed further.
- SSFS Environment Information Collector:
Collects important
information, for example, Fix Pack version, configuration files, database
version, and log files from the
IBM® Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation environment.
To run the SSFS Environment Information Collector, perform the following
steps:
- Go to <Install_dir>\isadc\SSFS_Env_Information_Collector\isadc.
- Run one of the following commands:
- For Windows: isadc.bat
- For UNIX: ./isadc.sh
The SSFS Environment Information Collector is launched in
the interactive console mode. Follow the instructions on the console
to proceed further.
When the SSFS Environment Information Collector is run,
it provides two options:
- SSFS PMR Stamping Collector: Collects certain files and information
from the SSFS installation that help to analyze product issues. It
also uploads the collection archive into a given Problem Management
Record (PMR) which is opened with IBM support. At the same time it
also stamps the PMR with the information already collected.
- SSFS Log Collector: Collects the given log files from the installation.
It also uploads the collection archive into a given PMR.
After collecting the data, the tool prompts to transfer
the data collection archive file to IBM support. Perform an appropriate
action.
For alternative ways to exchange data with IBM, refer to
Exchanging data with IBM. The following options are displayed:
- send using secure transfer to IBM Support (HTTPS).
- send using FTP to IBM Support (unencrypted).
- send using FTP to another location (unencrypted).
- end the collection without sending.
If you choose the 'send using
secure transfer to IBM Support (HTTPS)' option, you can provide
a PMR against which the tool automatically uploads the collection
archive.
If you choose the 'end the collection without
sending' option, the tool stores the collection archive locally.
You can send this archive manually to IBM support later.
