Running a silent installation

About this task

Use the following instructions to install from a command line, using the response.xml silent installation file.

Procedure

  1. Open a command prompt window and navigate to the following folder:
    • \IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse\tools
    • /IBM/Installation Manager/eclipse/tools
  2. Enter the following command:
    • imcl.exe input response.xml -log <log_filename>log

      ...where response.xml is the silent installation file to be used for installation and <log_filename>.log is the log file to which installation logging data will be written.

      For example:

      imcl.exe input response.xml -log C:\Installation.log –acceptLicense

    • ./imcl input response.xml -log <log_filename>log

      ... where response.xml is the silent installation file to be used for installation and <log_filename>.log is the log file to which installation logging data will be written.

      For example:

      ./imcl.exe input response.xml -log C:\Installation.log –acceptLicense

    Note: Ensure that you copy the response.xml created in the \IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse folder to \IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse\tools folder, to run the silent installation.
