Cancel master data upload

After you have uploaded a master data file for an entity type (also called as upload type), you can view the status of the uploaded records and any errors that occurred during upload. If required, you can also cancel a master data file upload that is currently in progress.

About this task

You can cancel a master data file upload that is currently in progress from the Master Data Upload screen.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Master Data Uploader screen. To navigate to the Master Data Uploader screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Enterprise Administrator.
    2. From the System Setup homepage, expand the Configurations menu and click Master Data Upload.

The Master Data Uploader screen is displayed.

  2. In the Related Tasks panel, click View Upload Status. The Upload Status panel is displayed.
  3. Click the Stop hyperlink in the last column to stop the corresponding master data file upload that is currently in progress. The remaining records, if any, in the master data file are not processed and the master data file upload is cancelled.
    Notes:
    • The Stop hyperlink is enabled only if the upload status of the corresponding master data file is either In Queue or In Progress.
    • When canceling a master data file upload that is currently in progress, the upload will be stopped only after the current record has completed processing. However, the record count will not be updated until the next trigger of the Job Summarizer agent, even though the current job status is indicated as "Cancelled". The fact that the Job Scheduler agent has not yet completely updated the upload job status can be determined by examining the success and failure counts in the Upload Status panel. If the sum of success and failure counts does not equal the total number of records in the upload job, then the upload job has not been completely processed.
    • If you cancel the master data file upload by clicking the Stop hyperlink, the records in the master data file that have been successfully processed are not rolled back. However, the Job Runner Agent processes the upload jobs in batches with a maximum of 1000 records per invocation. Therefore, if you cancel an upload job that has less than 1000 records, all records in the upload job will be canceled.
    • Click the Refresh icon to refresh the display of the field values such as success and failure counts in the Upload Status panel.
    • If the Upload Status panel contains a large number of entity types, the entity types are displayed in multiple pages. To view the status of the entity types across the multiple pages, click the Previous Page icon to navigate to the previous page and click the Next Page icon to navigate to the next page.
    • You can also determine the number of entity types that are displayed on each page by selecting a value from the Results per page drop-down list. The available values are 15, 25, 50, and 100.
