Retrieval or Replenishment: Picking Requested Serial Numbers

About this task

You can pick items for shipments that have requested serials in the shipment lines.

Procedure

  1. In Serial Number, enter or scan the suggested serial number or identifier of the LPN.
Note: You can also scan either a 1D or 2D barcode.
Note: If an LPN contains a single serial-tracked item, scan the identifier of the LPN. The system automatically captures the other item details.
  2. Choose Go in the GUI mobile terminal. If using the CUI mobile terminal, press F3.

If the system detects that the location is empty after picking, a confirmation dialog box displays.

    • If the location is empty after picking, click "YES".
    • If the location is not empty after picking, click "NO". The system triggers an event that creates a count request.

The system suggests the next serial number to pick, if available.

Note: The Confirmation window displays if:
      • The zone from where the inventory is picked is configured as "Confirm Location Empty After Pick".
      • The task type performed is configured as "pick to equipment" and the equipment specified by the user is modeled as a location.

If the inventory is not picked using an equipment, the inventory move from the pick location is not recorded. Therefore, the fill code of the location is "not empty" and the Confirmation window does not display.

  3. Choose Close Case in the GUI mobile terminal to close an open case. If using the CUI mobile terminal, press F7. The system suggests to pick SKUs into an inventory case, if available. For more information about picking SKUs into an inventory case, see Retrieval or Replenishment: Picking Products into a Case.
  4. Choose Close Plt in the GUI mobile terminal to close an open pallet. If using the CUI mobile terminal, press F6. The system suggests to pick into pallet, if available. For more information about picking inventory into pallets, see Retrieval or Replenishment: Picking Products into a Pallet.
  5. Choose Deposit in the GUI mobile terminal to deposit all pallets or cases. If using the CUI mobile terminal, press F8.
  6. Choose Exception in the GUI mobile terminal to record pick exceptions. If using the CUI mobile terminal, press F4. For more information about recording pick exceptions, see **** MISSING FILE ****.
