Installing refresh packs using command line on Windows, UNIX, or Linux

You can install Sterling Warehouse Management System using the IBM Installation Manager command line (imcl) installation command. The imcl command provides a text-based (non-GUI) interface.

About this task

  • Install Sterling Warehouse Management System Release 9.4. The installation procedure for Release 9.4 is available on the Information Center.
  • Install IBM Installation Manager.
  • Download the Refresh pack: 9.4.0.0-Sterling-WMS-All-rp0001.zip from the IBM® Fix Central and save it in a temporary location.

Procedure

  1. Execute the following command to start the IBM Installation Manager:
    • <IM_INSTALL_DIR>\eclipse\tools\imcl -consoleMode
    • <IM_INSTALL_DIR>/eclipse/tools/imcl -consoleMode
    Here,
    <IM_INSTALL_DIR>
    Indicates the directory where the IBM Installation Manager is installed.
  2. If you have not already added the Refresh pack installation package location to the IBM Installation Manager, perform the following steps. Otherwise, skip to Step 3.
    1. Type P to select Preferences and press Enter.
    2. Type 1 to select Repositories and press Enter.
    3. Type D to select Add Repository and press Enter.
    4. Enter the location of the repository location and press Enter.
    5. Type A to apply the changes and return to Preferences and press Enter.
    6. Type R to return to the main menu and press Enter.
  3. Install the applications as follows:
    1. Type 1 to install and press Enter.
    2. Type the number associated with the refresh pack installation package and press Enter.
    3. Type 1 to choose the version and press Enter.
    4. Type N and press Enter.
    5. Type A and press Enter to accept the terms in the license agreements.
    6. Type N and press Enter.
    7. Type M to change the location where refresh pack installation package is installed, using the IBM Installation Manager.
    8. Enter the location where the Sterling Warehouse Management System is installed and press Enter.
    9. Type N and press Enter.
      Note: The installer validates the version of the Sterling Warehouse Management System. The validation goes through only if the Sterling Warehouse Management System version is greater than or equal to the current release.
    10. Type the feature number of the application you want to install and press Enter.
    11. Type N and press Enter.
    12. Type 1 to select the configuration and press Enter.
    13. Type 1 to select Production or 2 to select Non Production accordingly and press Enter.
    14. Type I to install and press Enter. A progress indicator shows the percentage of installation completed.
    15. After the installation is complete, the installation status is displayed.
