Node capacity

In Release 9.2, the Node Capacity feature offers an alternative to scheduling fulfillment of orders based only on proximity or cost within distribution centers. You can schedule order fulfillment based on a node’s capacity for a particular day. Additional fulfillment needs can then move to other distribution centers, or to the same distribution center on the next day, if necessary. Using existing resource pools, resource managers can define their own resource pools to configure how many units or how many releases can be processed per day. For ship-from-store scenarios, using this feature can prevent store associates from being overloaded by direct-to-consumer orders, and preserve inventories for walk-in customers.

To implement this feature, configure a resource pool for each node for which node capacity should be tracked. After that, you can further determine node selection by configuring the Sourced from Details and the Landed Cost windows of Sterling Distributed Order Management.
