Installation directory permissions and considerations

When you install IBM® Sterling Warehouse Management System there are considerations that you should think about in order to install the product correctly and to help avoid errors.

If installing in a Windows environment, read the following points to help you plan your installation.

  • You cannot install IBM Sterling Warehouse Management System software as an administrator because this would cause folders that are created by the installation to be inaccessible to anyone but the administrator.
  • Ensure that the directory into which you are installing is empty.
  • The silent installation creates an <INSTALL_DIR> folder. Subdirectories are installed directly under it.
  • The interactive installation process installs subdirectories and files directly into the <INSTALL_DIR> you specify while running the Installation Manager.
  • The drive must have adequate free disk space.
Note: It is recommended that you have an approximate disk space of 15GB for the installation.
  • The name of the directory is case-sensitive.

If installing in a UNIX or Linux environment, read the following points to help you plan your installation.
