This chapter explains how to perform single step receipt and putaway in Mobile Application. For more information about the Application Console Framework, see Understanding the Mobile Application Console Framework .
The Sterling WMS Mobile Application enables you to receive shipments into nodes that are ready for receiving and immediately put away the received items. You can simultaneously perform putaway and receiving. After receiving the inventory, you can perform putaway without rescanning the inventory details.
In warehouses where inventory is received in pallets (on trailers), the forklift drivers receive one or multiple pallets at a time and drive the forklift to a putaway location. After completing putaway, they continue with the receiving operation for the next set of items.
Ad hoc putaway tasks are created immediately if the inventory received is an expected pallet or case, or loose SKU. When building pallets or cases, or receiving an expected pallet or case, which require content verification, putaway tasks are created when you close a pallet or case. An option is provided on the receiving screen to perform putaway if the tasks are created for the received inventory.
