Configure a Location Check Digit

The location codes, which are used in a warehouse to identify a particular location, are usually long, and contain alphanumeric strings. Long strings such as these are not recommended in voice-based systems because the chances of an error occurring are high. In order to avoid such errors, a shorter version of the code, known as a check digit, is used. Check digits are usually 2-5 digits long, easy to read, and are used to identify a given location.

In order to support mass maintenance of locations in a warehouse, the Sterling Warehouse Management System has provided a mass maintenance mechanism to compute and maintain the Location Check Digits. For more information about location mass maintenance, refer to Configure Check Digits for Computing Locations.
