Without task type having 'Number of shipments allowed per location
set' and equipment has three slots - logical locations A, B and C:
- Consider Equipment location size code with Volume = 3,600 CIN
and Max Weight = 200 LBS. (Length - 25 IN, Width - 12 IN, Height
- 12 IN)
- Consider Item I1 with above dimension.
- One Shipment is included in the wave for Item I1 with 3 units.
In this case, number of batches created by the system is 1 as one
location of the equipment A can hold 3 units of I1. System performs
a volume check and critical dimension check before assigning a location
of the equipment.
Note: Within a single batch, a shipment can be associated
to only a single cart location.
Example 1
When
the demand is between 9-10 units, the system chooses the following
locations:
- L4: 1 SKU
- L1: 3 SKU
- L2: 1 Case
The can
allocate only 8 units. To clean up more locations, the system selects
the locations in the ascending order of quantity. After selecting
locations L4 and L1, the remaining demand is for 5-6 units. Since
round up is not configured, the system can allocate only one case
either from location L2 or L3. Also, the split constraints do not
allow to allocate 5-6 units from location L2 or L3.
Example 2
When
the demand is between 3 and 4 cases, the system chooses the following
locations:
- L4: 1 SKU
- L1: 3 SKU
- L2: 2 Cases
