About this task
Warehouses may pick for multiple shipping
cartons or shipments in one trip and sort them as they pick. Each
cart location or a container placed at a cart location may be used
to sort these picked inventory for the respective shipping references.
The containers used for sorting in a cart may be:
- A shipping container (identified by a container
SCM).
- A tote (identified by a tote ID) may be pre-inducted
to a shipping reference such as Container SCM, Shipment, or batch.
- A tote (identified by a tote ID) associated with
the shipping carton as a part of the picking process.
Note: When building a cart, you can associate a cart location
to one or more shipping references. For more information about manually
building the cart, see
Building the Cart.
When picking inventory, you can scan either the reference or cart
location (if it is associated with only one reference).
