Overview of IBM® Sterling Warehouse Management System installation

Sterling Warehouse Management System requires a tiered environment, using a combination of application server, Web server, and database server software.

Typically, each implementation requires customization. The base software layer provides access to the backend database tables, transactions, and APIs that you can customize. You can also customize the applications running on top of the base layer. A customization project requires installing the product and working in three environments: After all the components you need are installed in an installation directory, you build an EAR file and deploy this to your development environment. You create your customization in the development environment. When development work is ready, you build an EAR file and deploy this to your staging environment. When testing is complete, you build and EAR file and deploy this to your production environment.
Whether you install your development, test, or production environment, you follow the same high-level process:

WMS 9.4 1. Download WMS 9.4 from passport advantage.
2. Install WMS 9.4.
OMS 9.4 and WMS 9.4 in a single instance 1. Download OMS 9.4 from passport advantage.
2. Install OMS 9.4.
Note: Apply OMS 9.4 Fix Pack 2 from Fix Central.
3. Download WMS Refresh pack (9.4.0.0-Sterling-WMS-All-rp0001.zip) from Fix Central
4. Install WMS Refresh pack on the OMS 9.4 runtime.
Note: As uninstallation of the application is not supported, it is suggested not to attempt uninstalling the application to avoid complications.
