Performing Ad Hoc Moves

This chapter describes how to perform ad hoc moves using the Mobile Application.

For more information about the Sterling Warehouse Management System Console Framework, see Understanding the Mobile Application Console Framework .

Note: The ad hoc move function provided out of the box in Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation can be used to move products to STORAGE after RECEIPT. This may be extended to perform ad hoc moves for other purposes by copying the resource rfmanualmoveD1P1 and changing the JSP name as frmMMEquipment.jsp?ActivityCode=<Some other Activity>&ActivityGroupId=<Some other requesting activity Group>. For example, frmMMEquipment.jsp?ActivityCode= STORAGE&ActivityGroupId=VAS (to manually Putaway after performing VAS).
Note: The ad hoc move function provided out of the box in Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation will look into putaway preferences to find the target location. Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation can be extended to drive suggestion of location by a target zone, where it remembers the zone of the deposit location when user does the first deposit and the next set of ad hoc move tasks are created for this zone. This goes on until the user comes out of ad hoc move.
Note: To achieve this, create a new resource by copying the rfmanualmoveD1P1, change the Java™ Server Page parameter as frmMMEquipment.jsp?SuggestToSpecificZone=Y and then create a new menu to associate the newly created resource.
