Examples With Number of Shipments Allowed per Location in the Equipment

Consider the following sample set-up for allowing shipments per location in the equipment:

The following examples further explain the shipment based batching.

Example 1

With task type having 'Number of shipments allowed per location in the equipment set to 1' and Equipment has only one slot - logical location A. In this case, number of batches created by the system is 3, since one location of the equipment can hold only one shipment.

Example 2

With task type having 'Number of shipments allowed per location in the equipment set to 1' and Equipment has three slots - logical locations A, B and C. In this case, number of batches created by the system is 1, since one location of the equipment can hold one shipment each.

Example 3

With task type having 'Number of shipments allowed per location in the equipment set to 2' and Equipment has only one slot - logical location A. Consider four shipments are included in the wave for Item I1 with 1 unit each. In this case:
  • Number of batches created by the system is 2.
  • Batch B1 will have Location A with Slot 1 assigned to Shipment1 and Location A with Slot 2 assigned to Shipment2.
  • Batch B2 will have Location A with Slot 1 assigned to Shipment3 and Location A with Slot 2 assigned to Shipment4.
