Sterling Business Center enables an enterprise administrator to override
the validation rule or an override rule configuration for the chosen
template organization and define a new configuration or modify the
existing configuration that is available for the chosen template organization.
Procedure
- Navigate to the Validation
Details screen. To navigate to the Validation
Details screen, perform the following steps:
- Log in to Sterling Business Center as a system administrator or a system setup administrator.
- From the System Setup home page,
expand the Validation and Override Rules menu,
and then click Order.
The existing order validations if any,
are displayed in the Validation - Order screen.
- In the Validation list panel, click the Validation hyperlink from the validation
list to go to the corresponding Validation
Details screen.
The Validation Details screen
is displayed.
- The
configured template organization is displayed in the Configure For box. Click Take Ownership to override the corresponding
rule for the chosen template organization and take the ownership of
the configuration. For example, if you create a validation
rule for MANUAL_PRICE_OVERRIDE validation and configure it for a template
organization called Matrix. As an administrator you have the flexibility
to override the validation rule by configuring it for another template
organization that is called Matrix East and define a new validation
configuration or modify the existing validation configuration that
is available for Matrix East. After
the administrator takes the ownership, the administrator can either
define a new configuration or modify the existing configuration that
is available for the chosen template organization.
Note:
- If the corresponding rule is not configured for any template organization,
then by default, the context organization is displayed in the Configure For box. In such scenarios, Take Ownership would be disabled.
- If the corresponding rule is overridden, then, the administrator
can complete the actions only after taking the ownership of the rule
in the Validation Details screen.
