In Release 9.1, the Reverse Authorization feature enables merchants to avoid extra credit card fees by implementing a strategy that can reverse unused authorizations before they expire. Reverse authorization requests are processed by the Payment Execution agent. This release also provides a means of handling differing authorization and settlement amounts through the YFSCollectionCreditCardUE user exit implementation.
To implement the Reverse Authorization feature, enable the Reverse When Expired option in the Payment Type Details window of Sterling Distributed Order Management. By default, this option is not enabled.
If you implement the reverse authorization feature, you may see an initial spike in payment processing activity because existing orders will have expired authorizations that generate reversal requests.
