You can modify the charge-related configuration of a payment
type.
About this task
To
modify the charge-related configurations of a payment type:
Procedure
- Navigate to the Payment Type Details screen. To
navigate to the Payment Type Details screen,
perform the following steps:
- Log in toSterling Business Center as a system administrator or a system setup administrator.
- From the System Setup Home page,
expand the Payments menu, and then click Manage
Payment Types.
- The Payment Types
Search screen is displayed. In the Payment
Types Search screen, enter the search criteria, and click Search to perform a basic search.
- The payment types matching the search
criteria are displayed. Click the Payment
Type ID hyperlink.
The Payment Type Details screen
is displayed.
Note: If there is only one payment
type matching the search criteria, the details of the corresponding
payment type are automatically displayed.
- Click the Charge tab
in the Payment Type Details screen.
- In the Charge Sequence box, enter the preferred
charge sequence for the payment type, 0 being highest.
- In the Cash Back Limit box, enter the amount
of cash that can be withdrawn in a single transaction using the specified
payment type. Cashback amounts on a payment method, cannot exceed
the cashback limit.
- Select Charge Up To Available check
box, to allow charging up to the available amount.
- Select Processing
Not Required if you want to create a pre-processed Charge
Transaction record of type CHARGE for the selected payment type. For
example, cheque or cash.
Note: This flag indicates that the selected payment type
is already processed.
- Select Payment Void Supported if you
want to void the payment type for the particular transaction.
- Select Charge Instead of Authorize if
you want to create a charge request for this payment type instead
of an authorization request.
- From the Authorization Reversal Strategy,
select any one of the following:
- Do Not Reverse: Select this option if
you do not want to implement an authorization reversal strategy. By
default, Do Not Reverse is
selected.
- Reverse When Expired: If you select
this option, a reverse authorization request is generated when an
authorization expires.
- Reverse Excess: Select this option
to reverse the excess authorization when an authorization exceeds
the order total or settlement request. This option reverses expired
authorizations and any charge request transaction that is not usable.
- Select Partial Reversal Supported if Reverse Excess is selected
in the previous step to reverse the authorizations in excess of the
order total by reversing the excess authorization amount only. If Reverse Excess is selected
but Partial Reversal
Supported is not selected, then, the entire authorization
amount is reversed and a new authorization for the order total is
submitted.
- Select Support Zero Amount Authorization if
you want to support zero amount authorization for this payment type.
- Select Charge Consolidation Allowed if
you want to consolidate charge requests. If this option is selected,
the existing charge transaction record is updated for all the transactions
for a given order of the selected payment type instead of a new transaction
record being inserted.
- If you have selected Charge Consolidation Allowed in
the previous step, then, enter the timeframe (in hours) for charges
to be consolidated within.
- In the Hours Before Authorization
Expiration box, enter the number of hours before authorization
for a particular payment type that expires.
- In the Hours Authorization Can Still
Be Reversed box, enter the number of hours that authorization
for a particular payment type that can still be reversed.
- Click Save.
