Node capacity

Node capacity has an impact on the calculation of shipment dates, as inventory managers can configure how many units and how many releases can be processed per day.

If a node meets maximum work capacity on one day, additional fulfillment needs can then move to other distribution centers, or to the same distribution center on the next day, if necessary. Because sourcing rule details can be configured to include only nodes that have a certain level of capacity available, if a node does not meet the defined availability percentage, that node will not be used. When a node does not have enough inventory and needs to procure inventory from another node, consumption will be made against the procurement node and not the ship node.

Node capacity can be defined for various delivery methods such as shipping, pickup, or delivery. A maximum of two resource pools can be configured for each node that maintains capacity either for shipping, pickup, or both. For example, configure a resource pool Res1for node N1 such that it maintains capacity for both shipping and pickup delivery methods. Configure another resource pool Res2 for the same node N1 such that it maintains capacity only for the shipping delivery method. In this situation, the Res1 resource pool maintains capacity only for the pickup delivery method.
