IBM provides the IBM WebSphere Application Server as part
of your Sterling Order Management Sterling Configure, Price, QuoteCommerce Call Center purchase, should you wish to use it as your application
server. Alternatively, you can use other application server products,
as specified in the System Requirements. The Java™ Development Kit (JDK) is shipped with your
application server.
Before installing your application server, check the System Requirements
on the IBM® Support
Portal to make sure you have the applicable hardware and software
versions installed.
Install your application server according to the vendor instructions.
Installing the Java Development Kit (JDK)
You
should install the Java Development
Kit (JDK) that is shipped with your application server, unless otherwise
specified in the System Requirements on the
IBM Support
Portal. When upgrading the JDK, be sure to set the correct JAVA_HOME
environment variable and update the PATH.
Note: Your JDK should reside
in a directory structure with no spaces in the pathname. When Sterling Order Management Sterling Configure, Price, QuoteCommerce Call Center prompts for the location of the JDK, it requires
a pathname with no spaces, such as C:\Java\jdk1.7.0_67, rather than
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_67.
Note: For Sterling Warehouse Management System functionality to work accurately you must set -Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true in
the application server start-up script, if using Java 1.7 and above.
