Enter a numeric value in the range 0 through 65 535 defining the port number at the server to which the Client daemon should connect. The default value is 0. If you enter a value outside the permitted range, the Configuration Tool warns you. If the value entered is too low, it substitutes the minimum. If the value entered is too high, it substitutes the maximum. If a non-numeric value is present in the configuration file, it substitutes the minimum value.
A value of 0 indicates that the services system file should be used to locate the port number for the CICS® service using the TCP protocol.
The services system file is in the /etc directory.
If no entry can be located in the services system file, a value of 1435 is assumed. This is the port assigned to the Client daemon in the TCP/IP architecture.
For details of the corresponding entry in the configuration file, see PORT (SERVER section of the configuration file).
