This topic documents the accessibility features of the CICS Information Center. Information about the accessibility features of IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS can be found in Accessibility of IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS.
Using a screen reader with the information center: The information center has been tested using the screen reader JAWS 4.5 with Internet Explorer 6. A help topic is provided that describes the different panels in the information center, the functions available in each panel, and what happens when you navigate around the information center using your browser's standard navigation keys. Read the Help topic Accessibility for visually-impaired readers for this information.
Keyboard accessibility features in the information center: Access keys to perform functions are available in the information center, in addition to the keyboard shortcuts supplied in your browser and screen reader. For information on the access keys, read the Help topic Keyboard shortcuts.
Changing font sizes: For information on changing font sizes in the information center, read the Help topic Font sizes.
Alternate text for images: All images in the information center that convey additional information have alternate text. The standard alternate text cannot include markup (for example, to present items as lists), so where the alternate text is complex, a formatted version is supplied. To display formatted alternate text where available throughout the information center, go to Preferences in the Home navigation panel, select Images, and select 'Display the text description of an image'.
Accessible formats for syntax diagrams: Syntax diagrams in the information center can be displayed in one of three formats. The available formats are railroad diagram, BNF, and dotted decimal. For descriptions of these formats, read the Help topic Syntax diagrams. To change the format of syntax diagrams throughout the information center, go to Preferences in the Home navigation panel, select 'Syntax diagrams', and select your preferred format. The diagrams will automatically change to reflect your choice.
Books that are not available in HTML format: In the full library page, two books are not available in HTML format. The Data Areas and Supplementary Data Areas books are structural reference books that have limited distribution. Should you require either of these books, they are available to licencees only in an accessible format on request to your IBM representative.
The Diagnosis Reference manual contains a number of technical drawings. If you require more information about these technical drawings in an accessible format, please use the feedback form. A link to the feedback form can be found in the footer bar or in the home navigation panel.
Feedback and questions: If you have any feedback or questions about accessibility and the CICS Information Center, please sent your comments by e-mail using the feedback form. A link to the feedback form can be found in the footer bar or in the home navigation panel.
