IBM® SPSS® Data Collection Data Model 6 Patch 1 is available. Compatibility, installation, and other getting-started issues are addressed.
In the past, market research software often stored survey data in nonstandard formats making it difficult to share data between different families of data collection and analysis tools. The Data Model takes advantage of industry-standard, open technologies, so that you can collect and process data using any conventional application, such as Microsoft Excel. The Data Model allows you to work with the data independently of the underlying storage format. This means that you are no longer tied to any one product when accessing data and products are no longer tied to one particular data storage format. This gives you greater flexibility and improved workflow.
Refer to Readme.txt in the root installation directory for information pertaining to the IBM SPSS Data Collection license agreement.
When you run the IBM SPSS Data Collection Data Model 6 Patch 1 installer on your machine, it will verify that Data Model is installed, and install only the required files. If Data Model is not installed, you must first install the application from the IBM SPSS Data Collection Data Model 6 installation CD.

Do not attempt to install IBM SPSS Data Collection Data Model 6 Patch 1 over the following products:
Copy the IBM SPSS Data Collection Data Model 6.00.010.exe file to your computer, and double click the file. You will need to have administrative privileges, and if you installed the products using a specific user, you should log on to the machine as that user to install the patch.
You cannot use the Windows Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs feature to uninstall the patch. If you need to uninstall the patched application, you can do so by running the patch executable file.
