The Job Watcher service includes software that collects real-time information for jobs, threads and/or LIC tasks. The data is collected by a server job, stored in database files and displayed on a client via the dynamic iDoctor GUI. Job Watcher is similar in sampling function to the system commands WRKACTJOB and WRKSYSACT; each "refresh" computes delta information for the ending snapshot interval. Refreshes can be set to occur automatically, as frequently as every 50 milliseconds. The Job Watcher takes advantage of patented technology that provides job wait accounting information surfacing invaluable information. Better yet, Job Watcher harvests the data in a totally non-intrusive manner.
The data that is created by the tool is summarized in many different types of reports and graphs via the GUI client. Several reports show system-wide summaries and others offer various drill down options that are quite useful for solving performance issues quickly.
