Local syntax-checking support, and the level of Enterprise COBOL for z/OS

The COBOL for Windows® compiler that is included in Rational® Developer for System z® Version 7.6 supports host COBOL syntax at the level of Enterprise COBOL for z/OS®, Version 3 Release 4. Newer syntax that is supported by Enterprise COBOL for z/OS, Version 4 Release 1 and Release 2 is not supported in COBOL for Windows.
