2.0 Interim Fix Content

WebSphere® Studio Enterprise Developer provides cumulative Fix Packs for the components included in WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer. The following is a complete listing of fixes for Fix Pack 5.1.2.1 which also include WebSphere Studio Application Developer IFix 1 - IFix 6.

3.0 Installation instructions if using Update Manager to install Interim Fix 5.1.2.1

1. Log on to your system with an id that has write permission to the install location and start WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer 5.0.1. (This is typically an id with Administrator authority on Windows).
   
   
2. Start the workbench Help > Software Updates > New Updates
   
   
3. Click Next
   
   
4. Click Next
   
   
5. Select the accept the license radio button and click Next
    
   
6. Click Finish
   
   
7. If you are warned about Duplicate Conflicts with LPEX editor, click Yes as this warning will not cause problems during installation.
   
   
8. Click Install to continue.
   
   
9. When the installation is complete you will be asked to restart the product. Click Yes.
   Note: This action will not reboot your machine.
   
   
10. To confirm that the installation was successful, click on Help > About WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer. The version number should be 5.1.2.01 and Build ID: 20050309
    
    
11. To complete the installation of the fix for APAR PQ97897 (FFS Update) and PQ94225, follow these steps:
    
    
    1. In the <product_installation_directory>\extras\Update5.1.2.01 directory, run the update.bat file
       
    2. Reboot your computer
       
    3. In the <product_installation_directory>\extras\Update5.1.2.01 directory, run the updatecomplete.bat file
       
       
12. To complete the steps required to install the EGL fixes included in WSAD IFix1-6, you need to follow the steps listed at this link:

13. After installation, the user must go into <Product Installation Directoryr>\wstools\eclipse\plugins\com.ibm.etools.egl.generators_5.1.2.2 and rename the plugin<timestamp>.xml file to plugin.xml
    
    

3.1 Installation Instructions if extracting and installing 5.1.2.1 using the downloadable self-extracting file, WSED5.1.2.01.exe

1. Download the WSED5.1.2.01.exe file to a temporary directory on your workstation.
2. Extract the contents to a temporary directory.
3. Start Enterprise Developer.
4. Click Help > Software Updates > Update Manager.
5. In the Feature Updates navigate to the temporary directory where you extract the files using the My Computer tree
6. Expand WSED5.1.2.01
7. Expand WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer 5.1.2 Interim Fixes
8. Select WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer Product (Windows) 5.1.2.1
9. In the Preview view, click the Update Now button
   Note: There might be a delay before the next panel displays.
10. Click Next
11. Select the accept the license radio button and click Next
12. The Optional Features page will appear. Click Next to continue.
    Warning: Do not modify the selections. Changing the default choices may result in errors.
    
13. The final screen of the Install Wizard will show the Install Location. Click Finish to begin the installation.
    Warning: Errors may occur if you change the default Install Location.
    Ensure that the Install Location includes \wstools\eclipse
14. Click Finish
15. If you are warned about Duplicate Conflicts for the LPEX Editor, click Yes as this is not going to cause a problem.
16. Click Install to beging the installatione.
    • If you are warned that you are about to install an unsigned feature, click Install to continue.
      This warning will not cause problems during installation.
      
    
    
17. When the installation is complete you will be asked to restart the product. Click Yes.
    Note: This action will not reboot your machine.
18. Delete the temporary directory or the extracted fix files to conserve disk space.
19. To confirm that the installation was successful, click on Help > About WebSphere Studio Enterprise Developer The version number should be 5.1.2.01 and Build ID: 20050309
20. To complete the installation of the fix for APAR PQ97897 (FFS Update) and PQ94225, follow these steps:
    
    1. In the <product_installation_directory>\extras\Update5.1.2.01 directory, run the update.bat file
