Introduction

This package contains fixes and updates to the VisualAge Generator V4.5 GA Help System code and HTML books.

Installation instructions for VAGen for Smalltalk on Windows NT

The self extracting executable that contains the fixes for VAGen for Smalltalk on Windows NT is called idstenu.exe
 

  • Install VisualAge Smalltalk Enterprise version 5.0 (if not already done)
  • Install VisualAge Generator 4.5 (if not already done)
  • Load the VAGen feature into the Smalltalk image (if not already done)
  • Shutdown Smalltalk
  • Start the self extracting executable (by double clicking on it). It will prompt you for a temporary directory. After you specify a temporary directory, the executable will automatically install the hotfix.

    The self extracting executable that contains the fixes for VAGen for Java on Windows NT is called idjavaenu.exe
     

  • Install VisualAge for Java Enterprise version 3.5 (if not already done)
  • Install VisualAge Generator 4.5 (if not already done)
  • Load the VAGen feature into the Java image (if not already done)
  • Shutdown Java
  • Start the self extracting executable (by double clicking on it). It will prompt you for a temporary directory. After you specify a temporary directory, the executable will automatically install the hotfix.
