There is an error in the packaging of CTW303. When the fixpaks are applied to a LAN image of VisualAgeC++ for OS/2, and you reinstall VisualAge C++ from the LAN, the old version of WFPHASE2.EXE is run instead of the new one. WFPHASE2.EXE is the WorkFrame phase2 program which is run automatically after a reboot. This error results in the "C main template project" not being created successfully during phase2. If you formerly used the template to create your own applications, you will now be unable to. The new version of WFPHASE2.EXE is distributed in the CTW303 image, but is simply not copied by the installation program. This problem does not exist for fixpaks which are applied to a locally installed version of VisualAge. If you are a LAN administrator ------------------------------ 1. Unzip CTW303.ZIP into a clean directory. 2. Unzip CTW303FX.ZIP into a temporary directory. 3. Copy the version of SERVICE.LST that comes in CTW303FX.ZIP into the directory that you unzipeed CTW303 into, overwriting the original copy of that file. 4. Run SERVICE.EXE. mkdir \ctw303 pkunzip -d ctw303.zip \ctw303 pkunzip ctw303fx.zip D:\tmp copy D:\tmp\service.lst \ctw303 cd \ctw303 service If you have already installed CTW303 ------------------------------------ 1. Unzip CTW303FX.ZIP into a clean directory. 2. Run CTW303FX.CMD. 3. Reboot. If you encounter any problems with this temporary fix, please post a question on CompuServe in the VACPP forum, section 4, or send email to va_capp@vnet.ibm.com.
