Changes to This Edition of the User's Guide

This edition is an updated version of the previous version of this guide. All technical changes and all new information are marked by change bars in the left margin.

The following information has been added:

• Web Health Console has been added to describe the new web-based Health Console.
• Appendix F, Environment Variables has been added to document the environment variables used by Tivoli Monitoring.
• Appendix G, Migration Considerations has been added to describe the migration from Tivoli Distributed Monitoring (Advanced Edition) 4.1 and from Tivoli Web Component Manager.

The following information has been changed:

• Introduction has been updated to reflect the new functions of the product.
• Installing has been updated to reflect new software pre-requisites and installation features.
• Using the Product has been updated with new screen captures and information about the new functionality.
• Heartbeat Function has been updated to include a new configuration key for the wdmconfig command.
• Appendix A, Commands has been updated to include new/changed parameters.
• Appendix C, Troubleshooting has been updated to describe serviceability aspects.
