1.1 General Information =================== This is the 1st fixpak for IBM NetFinity Services for AS400. It fixes the problems specified below. After installing the current fixpak, the modifiaction level and/or servicelevel will be changed to 000001. You can have or not servicelevel 0 installed on your machine. If you don't have the product already installed this fixpack will install it at servicelevel 000001. To make easier the download procedure from the Boulder site, we have split this fixpak in 13 small files. To rebuild the original package, it is necessary to run our procedure as described in the 1.2 section. To use it is necessary to have PKUNZIP2 for OS/2 or PKUNZIP for Windows platforms. Under Boulder site you can find the SVAS1 directory that has the following structure : x:\svas1\readme.txt : a guide to install fixpak (this file) \join_os2.exe : a tool to build the original package on OS/2 \join_dos.exe : a tool to build the original package on DOS \svas1.cmd : a command file to invoke our tool on OS/2 \svas1.bat : a command file to invoke our tool on DOS \1-2-......13 : files necessary to our tool for building the original package (svas1.zip) 1.2 How to install the fixpak ========================= 1.2.1 Common step to execute ====================== Execute the following steps to apply this fixpak: 1) Download all SVAS1 directory from Boulder site on a temporary directory (For Example d:\csd) 1.2.2 How to proceed on OS/2 environment ================================== To install the current fixpak, on top of the existing product or as a new product, you must install the IBM NetFinity Services for AS400 CD image on a code server ( verify the modification level or servicelevel is 0 ). To prepare the code server type the following command from an OS/2 window: 1) xcopy \SWDOS2\*.* :\\SWDOS2 /s For example: xcopy f:\SWDOS2\*.* d:\SYSAS4\SWDOS2 /s where f is the cd_drive and d:\sysas4 is your_dir. 2) From an OS/2 window, run the command d:\csd\svas1.cmd 3) Create a subdirectory SVAS1 under the temporary directory d:\csd 4) Unpack the current fixpak (svas1.zip) into the directory d:\CSD\SVAS1, using the command: d:\csd\pkunzip2 -d svas1.zip d:\csd\svas1 At end of this step, under d:\csd\svas1 you can find the following directory : SWDOS2 - SWDWIN - SWDWIN95 - SWDWINNT 4) Xcopy the temporary directory (d:\csd\svas1\swdos2) on the code server directory For example: xcopy d:\csd\svas1\swdos2\ d:\sysas4\swdos2\ /s 5) At this point you can proceed with the installation (Section 1.3) 1.2.3 How to proceed on WINDOWS environment ===================================== 1) From a DOS window, run the command d:\csd\svas1.bat 3) Create a subdirectory SVAS1 under the temporary directory d:\csd 4) Unpack the current fixpak (svas1.zip) into the directory d:\CSD\SVAS1, using the command: d:\csd\pkunzip -d svas1.zip d:\csd\svas1 At end of this step, under d:\csd\svas1 you can find the following directory : SWDOS2 - SWDWIN - SWDWIN95 - SWDWINNT 5) At this point, identify the wished Windows platform and proceed with the installation (Section 1.3) 1.3 Installation ============ 1.3.1 OS/2 Installation ================== To install this fixpack you can have or not the preeceding version of NetFinity Services for AS400 (ServiceLevel 0). NetFinity Services for AS400 not INSTALLED ------------------------------------------ Run INSTALL command from d:\csd\swdos2\ and proceed as suggested. NetFinity Services for AS400 already INSTALLED ---------------------------------------------- Stop all services of "NetFinity Services for AS/400" running. Normally you should find : NetFinity Support Program, Agent or some other applications opened (Software Installation, Software Preparation, Nvdm etc). Run INSTALL command from d:\csd\swdos2\ and proceed as suggested. In your case you must select: "Update the currently installed product" 1.3.2 Windows Installation ==================== To install this fixpack you can have or not the preeceding version of NetFinity Services for AS400 (ServiceLevel 0). Choose the Windows platform to install (WIndows 3.1, Windows95 or Windows NT). NetFinity Services for AS400 not INSTALLED ------------------------------------------ Run SETUP.exe command from D:\CSD\SWDWINxx\disk1 and proceed as suggested. NetFinity Services for AS400 already INSTALLED ---------------------------------------------- Stop all services of "NetFinity Services for AS/400" running. Normally you should find : NetFinity Support Program, Agent or some other applications opened (Software Installation, Software Preparation, Nvdm etc). The stop is different and depend from the specific Windows Operating System. Run SETUP.exe command from D:\CSD\SWDWINxx\disk1\ and proceed as suggested. It shows a wrong message "Drive not ready" when you try to select a remote drive.
