This readme provides instructions to install WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0 iFix001.

 


About this Interim Fix

This fix permits you to use National Language Version characters for user IDs and passwords when you use the local database user registry. This fix is applicable to WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0.

Installing WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0 iFix001

Refer to the following steps to install WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0 iFix001:

  1. Unzip this fix into the \fixes directory under the Product Update Installer directory.
  2. Stop all application servers.
  3. Open a command window.
  4. Change to the WAS_Home\bin directory and run setupCmdLine.bat. (Where WAS_Home represents the directory where you installed WebSphere Application Server.)
  5. Change to the Product Update Installer directory and run updateProductWizard.bat.
  6. Select the language for the installation on the Select Language panel and click OK.
  7. Click Next on the Welcome to Update Installation Wizard panel.
  8. At the prompt, select WebSphere Everyplace Deployment Core Services as the component to update.
  9. At the prompt, select Install fixes.
  10. Specify the directory where you saved the 6.0.0-WS-WSED-SRV-IF001.jar file as the directory for the fix.

The Product Update Installer displays the name of the fix on the next panel.

  1. Select the checkbox next to 6.0.0-WS-WSED-SRV-IF001 fix and click Next to apply the fix.
  2. Click Next on Summary panel.
  3. On Finish panel, verify that the following message is displayed: “The following fixes were successfully installed."
    Note: After the fix is installed, browse to the WSED_Home\EveryplaceDeployment\core\config\version directory and verify that the 6.0.0-WS-WSED-SRV-IF001.efix file resides there. (Where WSED_Home represents the directory where you installed WebSphere Everyplace Deployment.)
  4. After you verify that the fix installed successfully, you can restart the application servers and resume using WebSphere Everyplace Deployment.

Uninstalling WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0 iFix001

Refer to the following steps to uninstall WebSphere Everyplace Deployment V6.0 iFix001:

  1. Stop all application servers.
  2. Open a command window.
  3. Change to the WAS_Home\bin directory and run setupCmdLine.bat. (Where WAS_Home represents the directory where you installed WebSphere Application Server.)
  4. Change to the Product Update Installer directory and run updateProductWizard.bat.
  5. Select the language for the installation on the Select Language panel and click OK.
  6. Click Next on the Welcome to Update Installation Wizard panel.
  7. At the prompt, select WebSphere Everyplace Deployment Core Services as the component to update.
  8. At the prompt, select Uninstall fixes.
  9. Select the checkbox next to 6.0.0-WS-WSED-SRV-IF001 fix and click Next to apply the fix.
  10. Click Next on Summary panel.
  11. On Finish panel, verify that the following message is displayed: “The following fixes were successfully uninstalled."
    Note: You can also verify that the fix was uninstalled by browsing to the WSED_Home\EveryplaceDeployment\core\config\version directory and verifying that the 6.0.0-WS-WSED-SRV-IF001.efix file no longer resides there. (Where WSED_Home represents the directory where you installed WebSphere Everyplace Deployment.)

  12. After you verify that the fix uninstalled successfully, you can restart the application servers and resume using WebSphere Everyplace Deployment.
