Each one is * intended to be used under different circumstances. * * 1. Users who have not yet installed PCOM 4.2 can avoid this defect by * installing from a modified copy of the installation files. To do this, * make a copy of the installation directory and all subdirectories, and * replace the file SETUP.INS with the version provided with this APAR. Now * you can install from this updated installation directory, and the registry * key will not be logged for removal. * * 2. Users who have installed PCOM 4.2, but have not yet uninstalled it, * must apply a different fix because the registry key has already been * logged for uninstallation. Find the file PCSUNIST.EXE in the WINDOWS * directory on the boot drive. (Your directory name may be different.) * Replace PCSUNIST.EXE with the version provided with this APAR. To * uninstall PCOM, use the Add/Remove Programs object from the Control Panel. * Note: You must uninstall using the Add/Remove Programs object. If you * plan to install another version of PCOM, be sure to reboot the computer * before installing. * * 3. Users who have already uninstalled PCOM 4.2, and have lost the * registry key, may be able to repair it by running PCSRODBC.EXE, provided * with this APAR.
