Moreover, IWPM supports tuning contrast and brightness for the "PIXEL scale to gray" feature. IWPM is available only by download. You can download it from the following Web site: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/imageplus/fixes/IWPMv2.3fp2/fp2fixes/a Note: The IWPM image with build number November 1, 2004 should be referred as IWPM v2.3 Fix Pack 1. The IWPM image with build number April 25, 2008 should be referred as IWPM v2.3 Fix Pack 2. IWPM for Windows NT is no longer supported. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 2: Installation Instructions _____________________________________________________________________ 2.1 Install Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP or Windows Vista on your machine. 2.2 Save the compressed fix pack file into a temporary directory (C:\TEMP). Use IWPMv23fp2a.zip for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows Vista. 2.3 Extract the IWPMv23fp2a.zip and run "Setup.exe" from the temporary directory. You will then need to select your languange of choice and this will then install IWPM Client depending on the Windows operation system installed, and it will create shortcuts on the Start menu and Desktop. 2.4 If you would like to back up your current version of IWPM during install, you can place a checkmark next to "Create backup level: YYYYMMDD". Make sure "Install new level: 20081022" is checked. Click on OK. 2.5 In case you want to restore your configuration to the backup version you can launch the "Setup.exe" again and select the option to restore the backed up level. 2.6 In case you want to reinstall the same version of IWPM client you can launch the "Setup.exe" again and select the option to reinstall the same level. 2.7 If you receive the severe warning "Existing LOCPATH registry info is not type=string", rename the LOCPATH environment variable to something else (for example, LOCPATH1) and reboot your workstation. After the IWPM installation, you can add the contents in the LOCPATH1 environment variable into the LOCPATH environment variable. Usually this error is caused by having the CM Client in your LOCPATH. 2.8 If you already have a saved version of EVN2CFG.DAT, copy it to the C:\EVN\BIN directory (or any other install directory). Otherwise, you can create an IWPM configuration file by double clicking on the IWPM configuration icon or by typing "evn2conf" from the C:\EVN\BIN directory. Go through each screen of the configuration and then click "Save". This process creates an EVN2CFG.DAT file in your C:\EVN\BIN directory. 2.9 Now you are ready to run IWPM for Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, or Windows Vista. If you click on "Help", "Product Information", the build should now say 20081022. ______________________________________________________________________ Section 3: Windows Terminal Services Support ______________________________________________________________________ 3.1 Customers running ImagePlus/390 in a TCP/IP environment can now run IWPM under Windows Terminal Services (Windows 2000 Terminal Server only and PTF UQ94247 required on the ImagePlus/390 system). Contact IBM Technical Support for more information, or see the Citrix_readme.text in the following link: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/imageplus/fixes/IWPMv2.3fp2 _____________________________________________________________________ Section 4: Ctrl+W Behavior _____________________________________________________________________ 4.1 Ctrl+W is the shortcut key for the action "Store notes, highlights, and masks". The default behavior is that IWPM closes the opened document and annotations from the current working set after storing the annotations to the host. The new feature allows you to add an environment variable to enable the option to change the behavior from "save and close" to "save only." When setting the variable to true, the opened document and annotations will remain displayed after storing the annotations. 4.2 Set EVN_KEEPDOCS_AFTERSTORINGANNOS = TRUE, then test with WAF (ImagePlus Workfolder Application Facility/400 (EHLLAPI)) and FAF (ImagePlus Folder Application Facility MVS/ESA) host type separately. After you set this variable and store your annotations successfully to ODM, the menu options for creating and storing annotations are disabled. As a result, you can view only the document and annotations, but you will no longer be able to modify them. To close them, you must manually select "Discard Document" or "Discard All" menu items. 4.3 If the control option is not set or is set to FALSE, this new feature is disabled. ______________________________________________________________________ Section 5: Added Environment Variables ______________________________________________________________________ In order to implement the fixes described below, the environment variable listed must be added to the system settings. FIWT_FORCEPREPAREPAGEFULL=TRUE Use this environment variable when text data or signature is missing. FIWT_USEPIXEL_RENDERTIFF=TRUE Pixel's image rendering engine is incorporated into IWPM when this variable is set to TRUE. Without this environment variable, IWPM's Bedrock will be used to render TIFF images. FIWT_SAVEAS_LARGER_MODCA=TRUE Set this variable to TRUE in order to save documents larger than 22.754861" in width when using "Documents, Save as" to save a MODCA file. FIWT_IOCA_YCBCR=TRUE By default, IWPM scans a colorful image in YCRCB model. However, some image viewers can't display the images of YCRCB color model in correct color. Set FIWT_IOCA_YCBCR=TRUE to apply YCBCR color model to the colorful image. FIW_PIXEL_GREYVALUES=NUMBER,NUMBER In order to adjust the contrast and brightness for "PIXEL scale to gray" feature, adjust the values in this environment variable. The first NUMBER is value of brightness, the second one is for contrast. Below are sample settings for making a document appear darker and lighter: set FIW_PIXEL_GREYVALUES=190,190 (darker display) set FIW_PIXEL_GREYVALUES=70,70 (lighter display) EVN_NODELETEFROMWS=TRUE This environment variable can be set to any value in order to allow the IWPM working set to stay intact during indexing. However, you must manually remove the current document from the working set before the next one is captured and indexed. This environment variable works only for WAF. FAF doesn't support this function. FIWT_COMPRESSED_BUFFERSIZE=NUMBER (65536 ~ 130000) This variable does not need to be set unless you encounter a failure to display a problem when displaying a bi-color, G4 compressed page. The default value is 65536. It is recommended that an initial value between 65536 and 130000 be used. Note that you do not want to set this value too large, or IWPM will occupy more memory. EVN_FORCE_RASTERIZED=TRUE When tiff images are scanned in IWPM and rotated before storing to the host, some pages display in reverse video in other viewers. Add this environment variable in order to avoid that. FIWT_AUTO_CLOSE_SCANWIN=TRUE If this is set to TRUE, the scan dialog box will close after the user clicks on STORE. _____________________________________________________________________ Section 6: APARs (fixes) _____________________________________________________________________ 6.1 Fixes added in fix pack 2a (Build October 22, 2008): IO09594 -- Two DLL files are missing in the root directory for all languages.
