Intelligent Decision Server 1.0.2 ODBC Open Client Service README

This document provides instructions for applying fix levels for the Intelligent Decision Server (IDS) Server ODBC Open Client.

Overview

The fixpacks for the ODBC Open Client contain new files that you will use to replace existing files in your current installation.

Should you have any problems applying a fixpack or if you have questions, please contact IBM Software Support at 1-800-992-4777.

Applying Fix Levels

Fixes are contained in self extracting ZIP files.

To apply an update:

  1. Download the desired ZIP files. Each one should be downloaded into a separate directory. The directory name should be eight characters or less.

  2. Extract the files in the ZIP file by typing its filename. For example, type jc7au. A directory named odbc is created in your current directory. Within the odbc directory you may find additional directories for each language:
  3. de = German, en = English, es = Spanish, fr = French, ja = Japanese, ko = Korean
  4. See Available Fix Levels to find out what to do with each of the extracted files.

  5. Go to the directory where the ODBC open client is installed.

  6. Rename any files that will be replaced.

  7. Copy the extracted files as described below.

Available fix levels

Each fix level is located in a directory with the same name as the fix level. Within each directory, the FIXES.TXT file lists the problems that are fixed in that level.

Fix level  Description Comment
jc7au  IDS 1.0.2 ODBC Open Client For German installations, replace IDSODBC.HLP with the one supplied. Do not use this file with any language other than German.

A new README.TXT for each language replaces the original installation README.TXT. Text has been added describing a change you should make to your metadata. NOTE: You should install fix level jo7b6 from ...\v102\server before making this change.
