Service Summary

The Corrective Service associated with this FixPak includes
fixes and enhancements to be applied only following normal 
installation of the Digital Library Collection Treasury
Version 1.1 CD-ROM contents (product number 5799-B66).

IMPORTANT:  All updates from this service delivery, i.e., all
    service packs for all platforms, are required.

This file provides an overview of the associated service and
highlights important service installation requirements.  

AIX Loader

Symptom: Debug messages are displayed by the DLCT Loader.

AIX Web EUI

Symptom: Error displaying results from a Combined Query.

AIX Web EUI

Symptom: Maximum default results set to "all".

NT Loader

Symptom: Debug messages are displayed by the DLCT Loader.

II. SERVICE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
_____________________________________

In general, it is highly recommended that you backup your existing
DLCT product files BEFORE you install the updated files.  If you
experience problems following the service installation, backup files
enable you to restore your complete system to its prior
state.

NOTE:  All DLCT components to be updated should be shut down
       completely before attempting to install the fixes.


APPLYING SERVICE ON AIX
_______________________

This FixPak for DLCT V1.1 for AIX consists of 2 files
  1) aix_nondebug.tar
  2) dlctdp01.d2w (for AIX)
  3) archive.html (for AIX) 

To install the FixPak, perform the following actions:
 
 For aix_nondebug.tar:

  1) Download the aix_nondebug.tar file in binary mode to 
     the AIX machine where you have installed DLCT.

  2) Ensure that you have completely exited out of the DLCT Loader and that
     no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following 4 files:
       /usr/lpp/dlct/dlct/ias/nativelib/frnxbase.a
       /usr/lpp/dlct/dlct/ias/nativelib/frnxfreet.a
       /usr/lpp/dlct/dlct/ias/nativelib/frnxsysad.a
       /usr/lpp/dlct/dlct/ias/nativelib/frnxmults.a

  4) Change user to root.

  5) Issue the following command to ensure that all DLCT Loader modules
     have been erased from memory: 

         slibclean

  6) Copy aix_nondebug.tar to /usr/lpp/dlct/dlct/ias/nativelib directory.

  7) Untar aix_nondebug.tar by  executing the following command:

      tar -xvf aix_nondebug.tar

 For dlctdp01.d2w (for AIX):

  1) Download the dlctdp01.d2w file in binary mode to 
     the AIX machine where you have installed DLCT Web EUI.

  2) Ensure that no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following file:
       /usr/lpp/internet/db2www/macro/dlctdp01.d2w

  4) Copy dlctdp01.d2w into /usr/lpp/internet/db2www/macro directory and
     modify as appropriate.

 For archive.html (for AIX):

  1) Download the archive.html file in ASCII mode to 
     the AIX machine where you have installed DLCT Web EUI.

  2) Ensure that no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following file:
       /usr/lpp/internet/server_root/pub/archive.html

  4) Copy archive.html into /usr/lpp/internet/server_root/pub directory and
     modify as appropriate.

APPLYING SERVICE ON NT

This FixPak for DLCT V1.1 for NT consists of 2 files
  1) nt_nodebug.zip
  2) dlctdp01.d2w (for NT)
  3) archive.html (for NT) 

To install the FixPak, perform the following actions:
 
 For nt_nodebug.zip:

  1) Download the nt_nodebug.zip file to the NT machine where you  
     have installed DLCT.

  2) Ensure that you have completely exited out of the DLCT Loader and that
     no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following 4 files in the INSTALL_DIR\loader\dll
     directory:
       frnxbase.dll
       frnxfreet.dll
       frnxsysad.dll
       frnxmults.dll

  4) Copy nt_nodebug.zip to the INSTALL_DIR\loader\dll directory.

  5) Unzip nt_nodebug.zip using UNZIP or such utility. 

 For dlctdp01.d2w (for NT):

  1) Download the dlctdp01.d2w file to the NT machine where you  
     installed DLCT Web EUI.

  2) Ensure that no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following file:
       db2www\macro\dlctdp01.d2w

  4) Copy dlctdp01.d2w into db2www\macro directory and modify as appropriate.

 For archive.html (for NT):

  1) Download the archive.html file to the NT machine where you  
     installed DLCT Web EUI.

  2) Ensure that no DLCT components are running. 

  3) Make a backup of the following file residing in your Web Server directory:
       \www\html\archive.html

  4) Copy archive.html to your Web Server directory and modify as appropriate.
